Found Craig with Ohio Certified Inspections with simple browser search. After researching a little further, I called to get estimates. Ohio Certified was much lower in price for whole home inspection, and a termite inspection was included in the estimate. Competitors charged over a $100 dollars more for the home inspection and the termite inspection was an additional $75. After inquiring, Craig listed his qualifications and numerous certifications which he took a great sense of pride in accomplishing. He provided me references on my request. I was unable to be a the inspection and he quickly showed concern as he thought it was in the best interest of the homebuyer to be present. As I had originally planned, and was able to have a family member who has a background in construction and maintenance present at the inspection, my family member was impressed with his expertise, thoroughness, willingness to double check, and general friendliness. He communicated all findings in a professional manner with my realtor who found his work to be professional and thorough as well. His report was very detailed, efficient, and easy to read. His digital photographs allowed me to see parts of the house such as the roof and attic crawl space. I was also able to find a coupon he placed on Angie's List. Although he had intended to remove the coupon, he honored the coupon without hesitation. Small company, you pay for his work, unlike a larger company where you pay for their advertising and marketing costs. I recommend Craig [redacted] to anyone who is unsure of a home inspector as I was.
