Recently, my husband and I decided to start looking at homes to see not only what’s out there, but also the prices in different areasThere is a home that we have looked at over and over and finally decided that we needed to see it for ourselvesI sent an email to the Re/Max One Realtor of record, Matthew G., through the website requesting an appointmentThis was his response: “I would need to know a few things before arranging an appointmentDo you currently have a buyer's agent that you are under contract with? Do you have a preapproval letter from a reputable institution or if paying cash, a proof of funds letter? And lastly, the seller is not interested in a contract with contingency on the sale of another property; so my question is do you need to sell another property in order to proceed with the purchase of this property?” He requested when we responded, to reply to everyone, so that his associate, Ryan M., could make any further arrangementsOur first thought was, “Why do I have to go to these lengths just to see a home?” My husband has looked at many, many homes prior to this house purchase and never had to jump through hoopsHow can we decide if we want to proceed if we can’t physically see the home first? What happens if we go to an open house? Our second issue was, “If these stipulations are in place and you truly want to sell this home, why are you not asking to be our realtor or investigating our situation further before basically telling us this process isn’t for us?” We understand that in order to be considered for a purchase, we will have to follow through with any requests, such as us resolving our current home statusMy response back to them was: “At this point, we are just starting our search for a potential new homeWe have been tracking the house for a while and noticed not only the amount of time it has been available, but also the recent price dropWe are interested in a home with land and this one sparked possible interestNo we are not under contract with another agentNo do not have a preapproval letterYes, we have a current home that we would need to sell or rent prior to a moveIf the above restrictions are preventing us from viewing the home and property, then I guess we will be moving on.” Simple right? Apparently notThe next response was from the associate, Ryan, was: “Thanks for your replyI would like to suggest that your first step would be to contact a reputable local lender to start the pre-approval processIf you would like to sell your home you should get it on the market first as most Sellers in our current market will not accept a contingency on a home saleIf you decide to rent it you will want to provide a letter stating that you are pre-approved for a conventional loan without the sale of your current home.” Again, WE ONLY WANT TO VIEW THE HOME! Now we are getting very disgruntledSo my next response was: “First off, I don’t understand why I would need to contact a home lender and obtain a pre-approval letter just to view a homeI have viewed hundreds of homes over the years without ever having to do thisThe fact that I do or do not have to sell/rent my current home should have no bearing on whether or not we view another homeThis also is not contingent on us purchasing another property and I would never supply paperwork to prove soIf we liked the property and it worked well for my family and decided to make an offer, then I would be happy to supply you or the seller with all of the documentation you would needThe bottom line is simple, I will not be jumping through hoops just to see this or any other propertyIt is very obvious why this property is having a hard time sellingThe lengths one must go to, to simply walk in the door of a home that you are showing, are over the topI am pretty sure I am not the only person that feels this wayFurthermore, I will be printing off our email conversations and sending them to the seller as well as posting these ridiculous stipulations on Facebook for everyone’s viewing pleasureGood luck selling!!” Ryan’s last response to this was: “AwwwwYou have viewed hundreds of homes.......my point exactly little buddyGood luck in your new home search.” ????? AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My husband is HOT over this situation! Yes, he replied to this and possibly not with the best choice of wordsHowever, why should we accept being treated this way? Our fear is that something shady is going on with the selling of this home that the sellers no nothing aboutThe home is quite old, on a good amount of acreage and has many amenities to the propertyCould the agent(s) be trying purposely not to sell it in order to purchase it cheap? Are they embarrassed at the home and property (it does need a good deal of updating)? Why would they not want to either show the house more or have an open house if it has been on the market for more than months? We are baffled at this whole process! The Glanzman Group, RE/MAX One and more especially Matthew Gand Ryan Mhave lost a potential customer in usIt is people like this that make it difficult for those who really care about others to succeed

As to Mr. [redacted]'s claim of not receiving his escrow money in 12/2014 we have researched this matter and found that on December 1, 2014 our check #[redacted] for $500.00 was hand delivered to Mr. [redacted]'s realtors office.  On December 4, 2014 our check #[redacted] for $500.00 was cashed by Mrs. [redacted]....

 This matter was brought to the attention of RE/MAX ONE on December 11, 2014.  RE/MAX ONE strives on a daily basis to diligently meet everyone's needs in a timely manner.  We respectfully request that this matter be closed.
