I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[As you can see that don't mention there is a deposit or that you need to pay for the hotels. The offer for motels not hotels. They are charging me a 147.00 for hotels such as Howard Johnson. I can make a reservation for Howard Johnson for 3 nights under 100.00 so what's the certificate for. It's worth no value. If this had of been mentioned about the fees and deposit I would have never purchased it. False advertising.

E: Complaint  [redacted]
To whom it may concern:
The following...

letter is in response to the Revdex.com complaint filed against The Redemption Center
(Complaint #[redacted]
The certificate offer in question is the "3 Night Hotel Stay" certificate, Appendix A.  As you will
see, this certificate offers a traveller a 3 Night, 4 Day stay at one of 50 destinations nationwide.
Just to give you brief background on our services, we are an incentive marketing company and we
provide discounted travel certificates to thousands of companies in the USA and Canada. The
companies that  purchase our certificates use them in their  marketing and advertising to entice
customers to do business with them. Every company that purchases our certificates has agreed to
promote them exactly what they are good for. We can only fulfill what is printed on our certificates.
If the company gifting the certificate misled the customer, then this complaint should be forwarded
to the company that gifted the certificate.
The customer filing this Revdex.com complaint received a travel certificate from one of our members. It
has been The Redemption Center's experience that sometimes, customers who are taking
advantage of our discounted travel offers confuse The Redemption Center with the business that
initially gifted them their travel certificate.
The customer states in their  complaint form that, "My wife and I purchased a vacation package and
was told by this redemption center that our contarct(sic) which we payed(sic) originally $298.00 for
included a 3 night stay and air fair(sic)."
As you will see per the terms and conditions listed  on the 3 Night Hotel certificate, Appendix A,
there is no mention of airfare included in this offer. This specific certificate offer is for
hotel accommodations only. The Redemption Center never received $298.00 from the customer as
claimed in the complaint form. Upon reviewing the account information for our mem her who provided
this customer the "3 Night Hotel Stay "certificate, our records show that  member is officially
listed as a "Travel Agency." It appears that the customer filing this complaint purchased a
separate vacation package from our member. The $298 that the customer paid was not paid to The
Redemption Center, but was paid to the member of ours for services they provided; not us. The only
affiliation we have with the customer issuing this complaint is the "3 Night Hotel Stay"
certificate they received.
0 8/31/2013, the customer went  online to our redemption site www.funrewardsforyou.com and
redeemed t he "3 Night Hotel Stay'' certificate (Appendix B shows the redemption date of the travel
offer, along with customer information).
On February 14, 2014, The Redemption Center received a reservation form for the "3 Night Hotel
Stay" travel offer, along with a check for $179.00.  The received amount of $179 includ,ed the fees
and taxes for the 3 Night Hotel stay as outlined on the travel certificate, along with a $50  "Refundable
Reservation Guarantee Deposit" This total cash amount is also outlined on the reservation form that the
customer submitted, Appendix C.
The customer states that they "have been trying to confirm our vacation package sine(sic) that time
with this redemption center, but the redption(sic) center we need to send in more money this time a
adiitional (sic) $179.00 for the package after sending all the previous funds to this company for a vacation
package...n   Once again, the customer is confusing The Redemption Center with our member who
gifted them with the "3 Night Hotel Stay'' certificate. The Redemption Center did not receive any funds
from this customer prior to the$179.00 they sent in with the reservation form. The $298.00 they paid was
collected by our member for services they provided, and those services are not affiliated with the Redemption
Center.
The customer goes on to state that "this redemption center kept changing on my wife and I from what
the redemption center first told us." For the record, when the customer initially spoke with our
customer service department on 2/05/2014, Appendix D, the customer was advised on the terms and
conditions, including the fees and taxes involved with this offer. In no uncertain terms did The
Redemption Center give contradictory information to the customer, nor in any way provide
information contrary to the terms and conditions already provided on the travel certificate.  Once
again, the total fees, taxes and reservation deposit were stated directly on the reservation form
that the customer signed, dated and submitted  to The Redemption Center (Appendix C).
Per the terms and conditions for the "3 Night Hotel Stay" certificate, the traveler is required to
provide three separate dates, 30 days apart each on their reservation form. The Redemption Center
will automatically search our available inventory for hotel accommodations.  Since The Redemption
Center books accommodations on availability, we require three different dates be provided. If we
are unable to secure the first date, we will advise customer the first date was unavailable and
begin searching for the second date.
As you will see from the system notes regarding this customer's  requested dates, Appendix E, the
first date requested was 5/5/2014. After searching our available inventory, we were unable to
secure that date. We contacted the customer to advise them that date was not available. Appendix E
is the e-mail that we submitted to the customer, advising them that we could not secure the first
date of 5/5/52014, and requesting that they advise us if they want us to continue with their
reservation request and continue trying to book their travel for the other dates provided.
As you will see in the e-mail that The Redemption Center sent to the customer on 4/21/2014, we
stated that," Since we already have submitted your  requests to the properties in each destination
you have selected you would lose out on your deposit if you decided to cancel but we can refund you the
travel fees portion if you choose for us not to continue our search."
The customer at that point decided to not continue with the offer. Per the customer's  request, The
Redemption Center refunded the customer the money they submitted, minus the $50 deposit (total
refund sent to this customer was $129.00).  Although The Redemption Center was unable to refund the
$50 Refundable Reservation Guarantee Deposit, we did offer $300 in dining certificates in lieu of the
$50 deposit
It was the customer's decision to not continue with allowing The Redemption Center to book their
travel. In no way did we keep changing the terms and conditions of this travel offer with the
client, as the customer claims in their complaint letter.
Also, the customer states that, "It seems that this company does not value or honor what they tell
you over the phone from the first tile(sic) that one of their telemarketers first called us offering
vacation package for our family." Again, the customer has The Redemption Center confused with the
business that used our certificate as an incentive. The Redemp on Center does not solicit travel packages
and does not employ telemarketers in any form or fashion. We only fulfill the travel certificates we sell to our
existing members. We do not proactively telemarket our certificates. It appears that the main reason this
complaint was submitted  was due to a misunderstanding. The customers that filed this complaint believe that
The Redemption Center is somehow affiliated with the business that charged them $298 for a travel package.
If the customer simply would have contacted the company that they paid the initial $298 to, this
complaint may have never been filed. We ask that this complaint be redirected to the company that
initially gifted the customer with our "3 Night Hotel Stay" certificate.
Sincerely,

Consumer did not follow instructions and submit reasoning why she did not accept our response to her complaint as the Revdex.com requires her to do.  Customer has signed a 2 page contract agreeing to our terms and conditions and has contacted us verbally abusing our staff members.  She was quoted saying "I don't care what I signed and agreed to".  Customer in question is bullying around our staff members.

Revdex.com:The information is inaccurate.  The message sent by me was never answered, until Revdex.com got involved.  They indicate their email was in error.  I had no other contact.  I will not close the complaint until check has been received and cleared.  This is only one example of the problems I've had with them.  but the best documented.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,

It is important that you understand why we have a
reservation guarantee deposit that is REFUNDABLE only if the customer
travels.  We do this because when a
customer sends in a reservation form to us with errors we are still processing
the information, sending out emails, handling customer service through phone
calls, etc.  So if a customer puts us
through a lot of back and forth and then decides to cancel, well we do not
refund the deposit because we need to pay for all the back and forth customer
service administrative processing that we have entailed.
This customer in particular, on 3 separate occasions, sent us their reservation
form with errors.  The first time, they
did not provide us with the proper travel fees AND also provided dates too
close to Holidays.  The 2nd
time, the customer did not provide us with the required amount of dates, and
this time, she did not give us a 30 day advance notice.  The 3rd time, she was forwarded to
a Manager by the name of [redacted] who attempted to help the customer submit proper
requests but the customer became irate and became a bully and started
threatening legal action, etc. Fortunately for us, the customer in question
signed the reservation request forms AGREEING to our terms and conditions of
the promotional travel offer therefore she has no bearing regarding her claim.
Now after agreeing, she is going back on her agreement with us and is now
pointing the fingers back at us?  The
customer has already agreed to these terms.
We did not just make up a new condition to make this all a
surprise.  She has agreed to sending in
reservation requests according to our terms and conditions, she has agreed that
the deposit is non refundable if she does not end up traveling.
The customer decided to stop the reservation request procedure and requested a
refund.  She will be refunded minus the
NON REFUNDABLE redemption fee and MINUS the reservation guarantee deposit of
$50.

Review: We donated an automobile to [redacted] a couple of years ago and in return they gave us a two night stay at a hotel in a city of our choice, but we had to pay a$14.95 redemption fee to the Redemption center for the certificate, then the redemption center required us to send in $126.00 for taxes on the two nights which I thought was to be returned to us by the Redemption Center after we take the two nights stay( which we thought were free) but I was informed that there would be a fee of$50.00 to the redemption center for getting us the vacation which we thought was covered by the $14.95 we sent in. well, I sent in two dates for which we could travel and they said that we needed to choose other dates because I would imagine those date were not available and after several tries with this company we decided to ask for our money back because they didn't seem to have the dates we wanted, but I was told they would keep $50.00 of the $126.00 as their fee for attempting to get us our two day vacation, but they did nothing for us to keep the $50, we are so upset with this company that we just don't want to deal with them any longer. we want our $126.00+$14.95 redemption fees in total back because if they can't give us the date we CAN travel, then we are unable to use this certificate for the purpose it was intended. We would like to have our $126.00 back also, $14.95 because this company is a scam, and not what we expected we were dealing with. This company should go on the bad list with Revdex.com because they are not reputable in our sight.Desired Settlement: To have our $126.00 plus the $14.95 we paid for the redemption of the certificate returned to us.

Review: My wife and I purchased a vacation package and was told by this redemption center that our contarct which we payed originally $298.oo for included a 3 night stay and air fair. We were told to pay a $15.95 for a activation fee along with a $50.00 reservation gurantee to guartee our romms. They the customer support representative said we did not have air fair and our vacation package was only a 2 night stay. This was back on 8/1/2013. We have been trying to confirm our vacation package sine that time with this redemption center, but the remption center we need to send in more money this time a adiitional $179.00 for the package after sending all the previous funds to this company for a vacation package which this redemption center kept changing on my wife and I from what the redemption center first told us.

Then on april 21,2014 after making a reservation for a 3 night stay we were told that the comapny had searched their available inventory and could not find any available inventory of hotels /motels in the area we selected for our vacation. My wife and I were told by this redemption center that were could only get $129.00 back from all the money we had sent to this company over the time we had orginally purchase the vacation package. The company also said that they would also send us 4300 in restaurant coupons along with a check for $129.00. All the time we spend calling the redemption center and the redemption kept changing the terms of our contarct from the time that we originally sent the initail $298.00, it seems that this company does not value or honor what they tell you over the phone from the first tile that one of their tele-marketers first called us offering a vacation package for our family.

Thank you for your assitance in this matter.

Review: We donated our car to the [redacted] in exchange for a discounted vacation. Registering for the hotel stay was difficult and confusing and required a non-refundable processing fee and a significant deposit to allow double occupancy on a weekend. After six months of waiting for a reservation and some inquiries by email they informed us that no hotel stay could be provided in our area and instead offered us the alternative reward of $300 in meal certificates.

After an additional month's delay the deposit for the vacation was returned but the meal certificates required an additional processing fee and turned out to come not as an easily used gift certificate but as membership in a diner club (operated from the same address as the vacation reward company). The value of the club membership itself was questionable. The club provides a $25 coupon every month for a year for a very limited selection of local restaurants; mostly bars and hole-in-the-wall sandwich shops. At least $50 had to be spent to redeem a coupon, which would be difficult to do for two diners at most of these establishments. Commitment to spend significant money at restaurants where we have no interest in going was not acceptable so we requested and received cancellation of the club membership and a refund of the meal-club processing fee.

This exchange left us feeling very disappointed and cheated since after donating a car, paying their processing fees and waiting a significant amount of time we ended up with nothing. Since we aren't eligible for an itemized deduction on our donation we would have been much better off selling our car to a scrap yard.Desired Settlement: We are very disappointed not to have obtained the hotel stay and would have waited longer for a reservation if possible, as opposed to defaulting to the useless meal voucher plan. At this point we neither expect nor want to do further business with this company and just hope to help others avoid our bad experience.

Review: I donated a car to [redacted] and in turn was offered a tax writeoff and a hotel redemption certificate for 2 nights. The Term and Conditions state that I was required to pay $14.95 to process my certificate and that I had 6 months to send my 3 hotel choices and payment. Nowhere does it state that the reservation request had to be recieved on the expiration date to redeem the offer. I sent my reservation within the required time frame but recieved an email stating that my certificate had expired and they cannot process my reservation. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Although they stae that my check will be voided I'll have to wait and see.Desired Settlement: I want my refund of $14.95 for not processing my reservation even when I sent my request well within the required time frame.

Review: I received a voucher for a free 4 night stay any where in US. I called the number before I sent form in told them I only had a 1 week vacation in August she said no problem just make sure you select at least three different cities I paid 222.00 mailed it in received email we are not processing your request because you didn't select 3 different locations and three different dates all must be 30 or more days apart so I emailed them my disappointment then I called just to be told well we will refund you all but the 50 dollars, I want it all back not everyone has three vacations opportunities and or can they select three different locations so since I got nothing not even so much as an attempt I want my full amount 222.00 back they are just taking a portion without attempting anything to help and their staff contradicts each other. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like my full refund thank you

Response:

The customer in question mailed us a reservation request form which said customer signed and dated, agreeing to the terms and conditions of the promotional travel offer. The travel offer states that the "Reservation Guarantee Deposit" is NON REFUNDABLE if the customer does not allow us to book a reservation for them after mailing a reservation request form to us for processing by our staff. On page 2, of the SIGNED and DATED, reservation request form states the following regarding submitting the required amount of arrival dates and destination choices as well as the NON REFUNDABLE deposit disclosure:Reservation: All reservations require a 30-day advance notice from the postmarked date printed on the envelope that you mail the reservation form in. Along with your reservation request form a $50 "Reservation Guarantee Deposit" will be collected payable by check or money order. If you send in your travel dates, etc and you do not end up traveling then the reservation guarantee deposit will not be refundable. Reservation Request Procedure: You have 6 months from the date of redemption to request reservations. Please locate the “Register By Mail Date:” printed on the 1st page of this reservation request form. Once we receive the reservation request form for processing we will contact you by email letting you know we have received your request and will start searching inventory. Reservation requests require a minimum of three (3) different arrival dates, 30 days apart. All reservations require at least a 30 days advance notice from the date you mail your reservation request form to us. If the postmark printed on your envelope is after the “Register By Mail Date:” printed on the first page of this reservation request form, your reservation request will become null void. We typically start searching inventory within 30 days of your requested arrival dates since this is when we have the most excess inventory available to us. We will notify you no later than 21-14 days prior to one of your requested travel dates by phone, email or first class mail with a confirmation or status update. If we do not have available inventory during any of your requested travel dates we will notify you by email offering you to resubmit your reservation request form for additional travel dates. The Redemption Center reserves the right to place you in the vicinity within a 25-mile radius of your destination of choice. By submitting your reservation request form you are authorizing us to book any one of your requests. If you choose the same destination on all three (3) arrival dates you will be required to submit an Alternate Destination. By submitting an alternate destination you have agreed to travel to either your primary destination or your alternate destination on any and all of your arrival date requests.Again, the customer has already signed and dated the reservation request form agreeing to these terms and conditions and now she says that she can only travel when she can travel. While we understand that this promotional travel offer does not work for everyone, the customer did agree to allow us to book travel for her according to the terms and conditions she agreed to by signing and dating both pages 1 and 2 of the reservation request form. Since the customer has asked to cancel the reservation request before we could book something for her, she does forfeit the $50 deposit. We would have booked a hotel stay for the customer if she would have followed the terms and conditions of the offer that she had already agreed to. Redemption Center Support

Customer has signed a 2 page contract agreeing to our terms and conditions and has contacted us verbally abusing our staff members. She was quoted saying "I don't care what I signed and agreed to". Customer in question is bullying around our staff members.

Review: I was told after this company did not fulfill my vacation requests for 3 separate dates, I would receive a full refund of money paid, totaling $150.95. I have yet to receive this refund and feel this company is a scam and needs to be stopped.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back, even though this ruined my vacation scheduling for the whole year thus far.

Review: I have requested two time about my refund. Since the initial response from the company, I haven't gotten any new responses or the refund. The company only communication tool is the website message page or fax. I would suggest to any non-profit organization to NOT use this company. I would have rather sent the money I paid to this company. It is a very complicated process to work with them.

Dear Valued Redeemer,

We received your request to cancel and to be refunded. Since you are cancelling after we have processed your reservation request form successfully and before we can continue to look for accommodations, you are forfeiting the $50 Reservation Guarantee Deposit you mailed in as stated on your reservation request form. You agreed to this when signing and mailing in your reservation request form. This information can be easily found on the second page of your Reservation Request form. We will issue a refund for $139 and include $300 in restaurant certificates and mail it to you in the next couple of days. Thank you for your understanding and we are sorry it did not work out.Desired Settlement: The amount promised.

Response:

The information is inaccurate. The message sent by me was never answered, until Revdex.com got involved. They indicate their email was in error. I had no other contact. I will not close the complaint until check has been received and cleared. This is only one example of the problems I've had with them. but the best documented.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

Review: This company makes it extremely difficult to redeem one of their vouchers. They can only be contacted by mail or a limited contact form online which only accepts 250 caracthers and is therefore useless for any meaningful communication.

The process to redeem a voucher includes registering online to get a certificate number. Registering again online to get a confirmation number. Downloading and completing a reservation form. Completing a money order and mailing it in. Selecting three different travel dates and destinations. Paying a deposit and a reservation fee.Desired Settlement: Make it easier to contact, and make it truly easy to redeem a voucher, like your website advertises...

Company needs to accept email communication, a telephone number would be nice also. Payment by electronic means like a credit card and an online one step booking/ reservation form are needed also.

Response:

We would like to apologize to this customer that he is unhappy with our processes. Everything was stated to him on our redemption website BEFORE he redeemed his certificate. If he did not agree to our processes, maybe he should not have redeemed the certificate. This customer has not paid any fees to redeem the certificate, therefore is not forced to take advantage of the certificate. Again, we are sorry that the customer is not happy with our processes. This is not a retail travel package but a discounted travel voucher which would save the customer anywhere from 70-90% off the retail rate. We have cancelled the redemption null void.

Review: 12/15/12 my husband and I purchased into a travel membership program via [redacted]. We received a "4 Night Hotel Stay" voucher and I noticed the expiration date at the bottom stated 1/15/2013. Immediately on 12/21/12, I activated our certificate online and paid with my credit card. Upon receipt of my credit card statement in January 2013, I did not recognize the $16.95 charge. I contacted my credit card company to inquire. Through their research, I recognized what the charge was for and they closed out the investigation and no funds were altered. Done deal, all parties happy. I just awaited my reservation paperwork to arrive via mail. On 4/17/13, we learned that I was pregnant. We decided it would be a good time to try to use our "free" hotel voucher in celebration. However, after contacting FunRewardsForYou.com, I was emailed a response saying that there was a charge back issue and that I would need to pay $15 to reinstate my certificate. I didn't understand and asked via their contact us page if someone LIVE would contact me because I thought it was preposterous that they would null and void my certificate without any sort of notification and that I was going to put in a complaint to Revdex.com. Much to their credit and perhaps due to my Revdex.com threat, they did call me to explain. Unbeknownst to me, any inquiry or dispute, regardless of outcome, results in a charge from their merchant's bank. This fee was $15. So in order for me to collect my voucher that I had already paid the $16.95 for, I would also have to pay their bank fee. No it's not much, but because I'm stubborn, there is no way I am going to pay their bank fee in order to reinstate my certificate. I just feel that it is poor business practice and bad customer service. Because I know how easy it would have been for their customer service to just waive that $15 or even issue me another certificate, in which I would have gladly paid another $16.95 to activate, plus the deposit and taxes. A loss for all involved.Desired Settlement: It would be appreciated if the Redemption Center would waive their $15 bank fee and reinstate my certificate. Or if they would provide me with another certificate in which I'd gladly pay the $16.95 again.
