Prompt, knowledgeable and courteous service. Always recommend Reeds.

came out to fix leak in bathtub, my home is an older home with antique porcelain knobs that were in excellent condition until *** dropped one in the tub and broke it. I went in to see what happened and he said I'm so sorry I broke the knob, I will have my accounting department to credit the account or I will try to find one to replace it with. He stated he just sold a pair on *** for 125.00. Upon arrival of bill there was no credit so I called and spoke to accounting, girl stated *** never fabricates anything, so other words called me a Liar.
BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBING COMPANY THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST.

I called January 9, 2019 for a shower that cuts out and gets cold. You sent a plumber that looked at the shower and left saying he would return Monday with parts. Monday, no one showed and I called and you made 2 other visits with one breaking the shower head and now it spray's water. You charged $438.36 for 3 visits and I paid it. However, it still leaks.

We apologize for not answering your complaint sooner. Our correspondent was out of the office when this complaint was emailed to our office. Today is the first we have heard of it.
Following an investigation of your complaint we would like to explain what took place.
The first plumber who went out found that a replacement cartridge was needed for a Kohler Shower valve. The cartridge was not available at the local supply company. They ordered one and promised that it would be delivered by January 14th, 2019. When we called the supply company on the 14th, we discovered that it had not arrived and in fact it would not be in until January 18th, 2019. The day that it did arrive, a plumber was sent out to install the cartridge.
A few days later you called to complain that the shower head was leaking, which, for the record was a totally different problem. However, a plumber was sent out for the third time and you were NOT CHARGED for the Labor or the Kohler Shower Head that was installed on January 22nd, 2019. In fact, you would not let the plumber take the old shower head so that it could be turned in to the Manufacturer for a credit.
Our records show that we addressed your concern the same day that this complaint was issued to the Revdex.com and the issue has been resolved.
Tell us why here...

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

The Kohler shower head I have is top of the line. It was working but it would cut off the water and would get hot or real cold. I could not adjust it and that is the part they were supposed to fix. In the process of changing it, they broke the shower head which was now leaking onto the wall. When they fixed the leaking shower head, they did not charge me for the repair, which they should not since they broke the part. The head no longer sprays on the wall but I am still having the other problem. The shower head is not set up to work with the parts they brought. I also bought the shower head, so I held onto it.

Sincerely

This letter is in regard to my complaint submitted on 1/22/19 against *** Plumbing Heating & Excavating. ID number: ***. I am past the seven calendar days to respond. As a 90-year-old woman, I require some assistance. I don't have a computer so had to wait for someone to help me. I hope you can understand that. *** provided me unsatisfactory service. In fact, I paid them $438.36 by check, which has been cashed, and I still have the same problem I called *** for in the first place. Here is my response to *** account of what happened. What they say is incorrect, to say the least. Here is the truth. I called *** because my shower's on and off valve didn't work. The water would run hot and then suddenly cold. I called *** who sent out a man I'll call "Man #1." He looked at it, did nothing at that time, but said he'd need to order a part. A few days passed and I heard nothing back, so I called *** again and was told Man #1's visit wasn't in their records. Man #2 came out and he said he needed to go get a part, which he did upon his return about 2 hours later. He changed the part and left. I took a shower later on but the same problem of hot and then suddenly cold was immediately apparent. The showerhead was spraying onto the back wall, a new problem in addition to the old problem. I called Reed a third time and Man #1 returned who told me Man #2 must have hit the shower head somehow, perhaps with his own head, and broke it. I did not hear from *** again for a few days, so I called again and explained the problem and what Man #1 had told me. The woman I spoke to was dismissive and rude. I told her I wanted the problem fixed, seeing as how I'd already paid for it, and that if it wasn't fixed I would contact my lawyer about it. The woman said "don't you threaten me" and then hung up on me. *** then sent Man #2 back, who taped the shower head. The spraying onto the back wall stopped after that. But my original high quality *** brand showerhead had been replaced with a lesser value brand, leaving a very weak water stream. My original showerhead had a strong water stream. So now I have a new problems, and the original hot/cold problem remains. Very frustrating. At this point, I contacted the Revdex.com because at my age I don't have time for this aggravation. As for *** accusation that I would not let them take my old shower head: I bought that myself. Why would *** be entitled to it? At this point, I want a refund. Sincerely

I was quoted verbally $250 + $30 for septic lid. Person that done repair installed drain wrong blowing 2-GFIs in home and by the time we figured out the problem for work incorrectly done now we are being over charged. Work done at previous address.

Reed's Plumbing HVAC & Excavating Response • Jun 21, 2018

The initial call came in stating that the Septic Alarm was not working and the lid was cracked. Customer asked for a quote. Our estimator gave an initial bid that covered diagnosing the alarm problem and replacing the lid. At the time, he explained that we would determine the next step following the initial evaluation.

Our Plumber determined that the alarm panel was bad and would need to be replaced, which he did. However, the new alarm panel did not have power going into it. This is where the dilemma begins.

In order for the electric service to be up to code for this type of septic system, the septic pump is supposed to be on a dedicated circuit and the alarm on a separate dedicated circuit. It is designed so that the alarm will work in case the pump fails. This allows the homeowner time to seek repair before the plumbing backs up.

It took extra time to locate the problem with the power source. The problem was that there was a GFI (Ground Fault Circuit Indicator) sharing the same circuit as the Alarm panel. The GFI is located in a totally different part of the house and we were not aware of its' existence. Ideally, the home is wired with the GFI in line before the Alarm. When a GFI suffers a power surge or disconnection, it will immediately shut the power off. In order for it to work again, you must push the Re-set button in order for the power to come back on. Since we were not aware of the GFI's existence it took an additional amount of time (longer than normal) to have the alarm up and running.

Our services are billed at a Time and Material Rate. We feel that under the circumstances the full amount is due.

We are not responsible for the wiring of this home.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: our home was wired correctly by a master electrician and reeds plumbing blew both GFI's (two) when co-worker installed alarm incorrectly. The home owner is not responsible for reed plumbing co-worker that does not know how to install panel to electric wires and codes correctly. We are not willing to pay for reeds plumbing co-worker mistake and extra time spent due to his error. We have paid above and beyond what we were quoted and will not pay more. Thank you *** and ***

Sincerely,
