ResiAmerica

ResiAmerica has come into the Binghampton neighborhood in Memphis, TN - a neighborhood filled with international diversity - with the intent of raising rent in apartments inhabited mostly by refugees. They have taken down the community gardens that supported many families in the apartments because the gardens did not look good enough, and they have moved to online rent payments only, which puts those refugee families without bank accounts in a situation in which they cannot pay rent. They have done all of this without consulting the Binghampton community at all, and our community is outraged. Even after a 400+ signature petition, ResiAmerica was unable to commit to supporting many of the current families who are struggling to pay the rent (which has been raised $50 in one month, and is set to be raised more soon). Please do not rent from ResiAmerica until they commit to working with the communities that they seek to help improve.
