They would not provide me a receipt

ResumeHelp Response • Dec 18, 2018

Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from ***. We have reviewed our files and our records show that *** signed up for our Resume Help services on August 27, 2018. The copy online clearly provided *** with a choice of full access for 14 days at a discounted rate, which automatically renews to monthly access for a monthly fee, or an annual subscription that is pro-rated at a lower rate per month but which is paid upfront for access to the services all year long. *** chose to accept our offer for 14 day full access, which automatically renews monthly. On the page where *** made that selection, immediately adjacent to the choice of subscriptions, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that the 14 day premium access ''automatically renews at $24.90 per month on the 15th day''. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on September 11, 2018 to our monthly service at $24.90 per month.'' This page also provides information on how *** could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, *** was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming Shadei’s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on September 11, 2018 to our recurring monthly service at $24.90 per month.'' Accordingly, on September 11, 2018 Shadei’s card was charged $24.90 for the applicable month of service.

We hope this information clears any confusion or concerns Ms. might have had.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because I asked them to provide a receipt and they never did, so I could submit to my job. What kind of business can't provide receipts for their transactions?

Sincerely

ResumeHelp Response • Dec 21, 2018

Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from ***. We have attached Ms.’ receipt for the most recent transaction regarding her subscription.

I used this company for a resume template almost two years ago (22 months). I thought I was only being charged about $2 for the template, instead I discovered it was an recurring bill of $20 a month for an online service. My main complaint is they failed to contact me on regular basis as notification of these charges as a receipt. Most reputable companies will notify you of charges on a regular basis. The company representative I called refused to discuss that matter. He was rude with no empathy for my situation, instead he ignored what I had to say and tried to sell me more "product." I feel I was scammed. I would think a reputable company would send regular notifications about repeat billing services as a minimum requirement for doing business with non tangible product.

Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from Ms. *** (“***”).

We have reviewed our files and our records show that *** created an account in our Resume Help website on February 17, 2017. To create an account on our website, *** had to agree to our Terms of Use (“ToU”) as a requirement before opening her account.

As stated in our ToU agreed to by all of our clients, as *** had to do, after the $1.95 14-day trial, a recurring monthly charge of $19.95 is added to the account (if the subscription has not been cancelled within the 14-day trial period). They are also non-refundable as our ToU state. Before, during and after the initial trial purchase, our webpage conspicuously states that the subscription can be canceled at any time. We also state that if the subscription is not canceled before the 15th day, the subscription will roll into a monthly automatically renewing subscription billed every 28 days. Lastly, an automatic email is sent to the customer’s registered email reiterating this information.

Nevertheless, we value our customers here at Resume Help and want to do all that we can to successfully handle any issues they may have. As such, our customer service team processed ten (10) refunds in the amount of $19.95 each as of November 30, 2018. Furthermore, the account associated to this complaint was cancelled on November 16, 2018 as well. Please allow 3-5 business days for these refunds to fully process.

We trust this resolves this issue at hand.

The website offers a Resume template for 2.90. There is no mention of a monthly subscription. However, my charge card was charged 24.90 for four months. The company is not willing to refund all my monies.

Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from ***. We have reviewed our files and our records show that *** signed up for our Resume Builder services on June 6, 2018. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on June 21, 2018 to our monthly service at $24.90 per month.'' This page also provides information on how *** could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, *** was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming ***’s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on June 21, 2018 to our recurring monthly service at $24.90 per month.'' Accordingly, on June 21, 2018 Joanna’s card was charged $24.90 for the applicable month of service.

Although our monthly charges are not refundable, ResumeHelp was willing to make an exception for *** and provide her a refund of three (3) monthly charges totaling $74.70. Our customer service team refunded *** the amount of $74.70 as of October 31, 2018.

We trust this addresses any concerns you may have.

I used the service to print a resume that cost 2.90. Later I was charged 28.00 a month for a service I did not use. I only printed the one resume. The did not say anything about it being a monthly charge.

It was in the bottom of the email I received, which not everyone reads.

I have found numerous complains about this issue online.

I am paying for a service that I am not receiving.

I paid a small fee for a free trial on Resume Help. In the end I never ended up using the template I had originally paid for. I just recently found that my money has been continuously taken out of my account without prior notice in the amount of $25 a month. It has been 9 months already. That is worth $200. I believe I am entitled to a refund for services I never used. I was only given partial refund, but Resume Help stealing the rest of my money is unethical. They say they sent me confirmation emails to my spam folder. I believe this is an avoidance so that customers aren't fully aware. I have asked kindly to speak with higher management on this issue but they refuse to turn my case to someone professional.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

To Whom it may Concern,

I spoke with someone today from this company that could "not find my account" information. I don't have an account, as I never created one with the site and have been fraudulently charged for the past four years. I am in the active military and just got back from being oversees that entire time. I noticed this account was charged monthly since then.

They told me they could "not find my account" and charged me 40.20 per month. This is criminal and bad business. I would like to recoup the entirety of my money. I have orders to prove I am active duty military, which also means... I HAVE NO NEED FOR A RESUME.

I work hard for the little money the army gives me and this is hurting my ability to take care of my family.

ResumeHelp Response • Aug 30, 2018

Thank you for the opportunity to address this complaint by ***. Our records do not show a subscription linked to the provided email. We could locate the charges using the last four (4) digits of the charged credit card as well as the cardholder’s full name. Please have Mrs. provide us this information for us to be able to further investigate her claim. We hope to resolve this matter at hand soon.

After filling out a "free" resume form, the program requested I pay $2.98 for a 14 day access on 5/22/2018. On 6/7/2018 my account was charged $24.00 for a subscription. When I called the contact number it was explained to me that the description of the recurring charge was in the confirmation e-mail I received. Since the recurring charge was not in the advertised product but in the confirmation I would consider this a deceptive trade practice.

I used the resume writing service and paid what I thought was a one-time fee of $2.00 which I paid. On April 21st 2048 my Capital One VISA credit card was billed for $24.95 which was not what I approved. I contacted Resume Help and the representative refused to process a refund citing corporate policy. While Resume Help did cancel my subscription, I did not authorize a debit from my credit card in the first place.

I spent 2 hours creating a 100% FREE resume to find out at the end you have to subscribe in order to download it in resume form. This is very unprofessional, I called a spoke to the supervisor and she said " you can download it free in plain text and format it yourself in word" this completely defeats the purpose of creating a resume with them.

This website tacks on a subscription to your order that they don't tell you about until the fine print on the receipt and isnt made clear anywhere on their website. They charged us 100 dollars before we realized they charging us still. Turns out this has happened to alot of people. I told them to refund My money that theyve stolen or I would be filing a complaint on their shade business tactics and they basically gave me the run around.

ResumeHelp Response

Thank you again for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from ***

Our dedicated Customer Services team verified Mr.’s account and found the following information: (i) the email associated with this account has an inactive subscription and (ii) no payments have been collected – as stated in our terms of use agreed upon by all of our clients – recently. Moreover, the last payment was collected back in 2015. If his allegations continue after this response, then in order to fully conduct our investigation we would need the customer to provide us with correct account information or the last 4 digits of his credit card and cardholder’s name.

We trust this resolves this issue.

I had 3 unauthorized charges on my credit card on Oct 6th/Sept 8th and Aug 11 for $24.95 each. I spoke with their customer service rep Aldair and he was willing to credit me back ONE unauthorized charge. After asking for his supervisor he put me on hold and came back and said his supervisor approved one more credit. That leaves one charge left that needs to be credited. He said he was only doing two credits.

Apparently, Ms. is solely the cardholder’s name. Per the account ID provided, this account was made under *** with the following email ***.***@gmail.com.

As stated in our terms of use agreed upon by all of our clients, our monthly charges are not refundable. However, we value our customers here at Bold and want to do all that we can to resolve any issues they may have. As such, on October 24, 2017 the account associated to this complaint was cancelled as well as a $25.95 refund was processed. Afterwards, two additional refunds for the same amount were processed. As of now, the account is inactive with three refunds for a total of $74.85.

We trust this resolves this issue.

Resumehelp advertised $1.95 resume help which I signed up for. After signing up they register you for a monthly $19.95 + $.60 fee. They continue to take these fees even if you do not use their service for months even years. No Notices are given of the monthly charges, no notices of unused services, no notices of new features, no notices of anything to do with the service. They just continue to suck money out of accounts at an odd interval to fly under the radar.

Contracted with them for 1 month only. Was assured I would be billed only $19.95. This was on May 8,2017. They have billed me monthly ever since. They claimed I never called to cancel. Called again several times was either put on hold or experienced long waiting times. Was able to get through on August 26 they said they would only refund my Aug. payment. I feel I was scammed since they ignored my original request and were able to get more money from me by automatically debuting my credit card. I have filed a complaint with my cred card company which is in progress.
