Revolution Kia Reviews (27)

I bought a used vehicle in March from this (now out of business) company. I had it for 3 days before I had to leave it with them for the next 2 weeks because it wasn't passing inspection. They were supposed to be fixing the many issues I had noticed including the check engine light, severe pulling, other dash lights, etc. Nothing was fixed during those 2 weeks. They instead put 2 dents into the passenger side door. Three weeks into this nightmare, they go out of business. My vehicle has now been at another random dealer for 8 weeks because the new manager, Frank, of South Shore Kia (previously Revolution Kia) wants nothing to do with what was not taken care of. "Mike" and my salesperson Alyssa lied constantly and now I have to deal with fraud on top of the mechanical issues. I traded my car in and I also gave them $10,000.00 for a $15k vehicle. Somehow, they brought the truck price up to $26,000 and threw a $13,000 loan at me. My bill of sale has also gone missing and they wont hand it over. A women called me asking for the title for my trade in so they can sell the car.. I guess they lost that, too. Completely disgusted with all those involved. I bought this vehicle which I haven't been able to drive more than 4 weeks because the transmission was completely shot.

Review: When I turned in my leased 2012 Optima they told me that they would give me a good deal to lease a 2015 optima, [redacted] the [redacted] told me that he would take care of all the fees and the over mileage, he said they would all be waived, I would not pay any of it and I believed him, I confirmed with him several times he assured me that everything would be waived and that there would be no surprises. He said all I would have to pay was the DMV and first month payment. My sister was there with me to confirm this. Well , to my surprise after having the 2015 Optima for a month, I was presented with a bill of around three thousand dollars regarding the over mileage of my 2012 Optimum. [redacted] the [redacted] and [redacted] the [redacted] told me to ignore it and that they would take care of it on Monday morning, again I believed them, My sister and I called back to make sure they took care of this issue, When we called back , [redacted] said he would have to speak with his **, I left messages several times after that and he never returned my calls , My sister and I finally called this past Sunday and got a hold of [redacted], He said the ** said that he couldn't do anything and that the ** said I would have to pay that bill. I was deceived and lied too, its disgusting, they are nothing but thieves and liars, They should not get away with this. I would like them to wave that over mileage fee the way they promised me.Desired Settlement: Revolution Kia needs to waive my over mileage fee of about three thousand dollars as promised. I was tricked and deceived.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This case has not been successfully resolved due to the fact that there are several aspects to this case that are not forth right and honest. Before entering any agreement with revolution Kia I was enphatic about the point that I would not pay any type of overage on the 2012 Optima , I brought a witness with me[redacted], to ensure there would be no problem. I n dealing with the company and mielage issue, upon entering Kia and meeting our sales rep. we informed him that we have several offers from other companies, precluding any type of overage on the 2012 optima. Inphaticaly we informed him that under no circumstance we would signa contract that included the mielage overage. Throught our negotiations we consistantly informed them that we would not agree to pay for the mielage, the sales rep consistantly reaasured us that we would not have to pay the overage from the old contract.During the negotiations the sales rep informed the [redacted] of our stipulation concerning obtaining a new lease with there company. The sales rep assured a\us that the mangaer agreed to this stipulation. A contract was then devised. I and [redacted] both read the contract, the contract did not state that we had to pay the overage. [redacted] pointed out to the sales rep that there was no written assesment regarding the mielage. The sales rep answered that this was a new contract and therefore I was exonerated from the Old conract and thereby not being necsessary to put a clause in the new contract. Therfore we signed the contract and beleived the information the sales rep told us regarding the mielage and the contract. Further we also beleived that they were a reputable company and they would stand by the new contract they made with us. Several weeks went by where I was unaware of there still being an issue of any type regarding Kia accept for the car payments I agreed to make. However, customer service contacted me in regards to the mielage and I informed them that Kia had agreed to forgo the issue with the mielage. At that point in time customer service requested that I call Kia to send them the payoff check. I went down in person to Revolution Kia and informed them of what was requested by customer service. They told me taht by monday this would be all taken care of and that there would be no issue, hence I assumed that all was well. Never the less, customer service called us stating that Kia was not going to pay the overage, I again called Kia and was told by the [redacted], [redacted] to ignore the call, and my father was told the same thing by [redacted]. At this juncture [redacted] called [redacted] and informed him of all the above information. and [redacted] informed her that he had it in writing that I stated that I would pay for the overage. [redacted] stated that she read the new contract and there was no such statement on there. [redacted] stated to [redacted] that some kind of fraudulant behavior was being done to me. [redacted] advised [redacted] that a statement had to be put in after we read and signed the contract or they had misinformed us regarding the sale of this new lease. And that [redacted] would attest to this fact. He continuously replied that he had my signature and that I would pay. [redacted] informed him that this was fraudulant by omission and misrepresentation of which him and the sales rep were a party too. After that [redacted] called the [redacted], restated the above and was told to give him until Monday to resolve this issue with his [redacted]. [redacted] waited a week or more to recall [redacted] the [redacted] to find out the resolution regarding this problem. [redacted] was informed that he was told by the ** that nothing would be done for me. [redacted] informed [redacted] that I would try to fight this in court. There are several witnesses that can attest to the fact that Kia was involved in this information, omission and mis representation. Respectfully, [redacted]

Review: I was contacted by a sales representative to upgrade my vehicle to a newer model (2012 KIA Sorento to a 2014 KIA Sorento). The sales rep was asked on the phone, by myself, about two specific conditions, mileage overage and body damage. My car had been keyed along the length of the car on the passenger [redacted] and I had exceeded the mileage allotted per year (hence the two points of concern), although the lease contract still had another year on it. It was explained that both would be "forgiven" as this was part of the deal. When I visited the dealership I repeated the questions and received the same answers. When signing the contract I asked if the mileage allotment on the new lease could be increased and I was told no. This last question about mileage was, what I con[redacted]ered, the third opportunity the sales rep had to explain to me about any charges regarding mileage overage. After signing a new lease and paying for taxes and fees, my new contract stated I would be paying the same monthly payments. However, several months later I received a bill for $4000 for mileage overage charges on the 2012 KIA Sorento. I have made several calls to the business (Revolution KIA) and KIA Motor Finance, Inc. KIA Motor Finance, Inc. states that because Revolution KIA is a private business, and they are simply a financial institution only concerned with billing and collection, my issue needed to be resolved with the business. I have contacted several individuals at Revolution KIA and have been told I would be contacted. I have still not been contacted. I cannot afford a $4000 bill in addition to the money I used to get the car off the lot. I have explained to them that they can take back the car and put me in my old car, but I was told that is not possible because the car is no longer at the facility.Desired Settlement: KIA Motor Finance, Inc. states they are only responsible for the collection of the bill. Therefore, I want Revolution KIA to forgive the mileage overage charge as was stated by the sales rep when the upgrade deal was offered. I would also prefer if the sales rep were either instructed on the details of the offer in a more thorough fashion or reprimanded and made to take some sort of business ethics course.

Response:

We spoke to [redacted] and offered him $1000 to help with his over mileage issue. We have attached to documents that he signed stating that we did not make any promises and we do not owe him anything. We do apologize for any communication on our part that may have been misinterpreted by [redacted]. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and if [redacted] changes his mind our offer is still on the table. The dealership is never responsible for over mileage on an off lease vehicle. This is always the responsibility of the consumer. Again we do apologies and will try to help in any way we can. This is the second vehicle [redacted] purchased from us and we always do whatever we can to keep our customers happy.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

on Thursday, August [redacted], 2014 at 10:10am I contacted "[redacted]" at Revolution KIA and he informed me he was authorized to offer me a check for $500 as well as a $500 credit towards the purchase of items for my automobile. I explained that I am a repeat customer, having just purchased an auto-starter from this business despite the current and ongoing issue, and that their offer was not adequate to eliminate the over $4,000 bill I incurred due to their previous unscrupulous practices. Sid expressed his sympathy and concerned and assured me he would continue to inquire within his business for a solution to this erroneous charge. To date, I have not heard back from Sid with a new resolution.

Review: I purchased a vehicle for the amount of 16,200, I put down a 5000.00 cash down payment, the amount to finance should now be 11,200 plus taxes and fees. Break down $75.00 Doc fee, 37.00 inspection fee, 210.00 registration fee, 1609.00 Extended warranty, sales tax 2157.98 brings the price up to 15288.98 to be financed, I was financed at 22,499. where did the 7211.98 go? First , and a few times I was lied to being told my 5.000 down payment went to the bank to buy down my interest rate, till I contacted the bank and proved that the 5000.00 did not go to the bank, then I was given a list of additional fees as to where the money went no longer mentioning that the money went to the bank. and the was the 5000.00 not the whole 7211.98. My huge mistake was trusting a huge dealership and just signing the contract as most people do. I was not given a calculator to correct there math, I trusted, Please dont trust this group, you will loose money. I wanted to contact the owner and his contact info is nowhere available. every time I went in person I was treated like I did something wrong, and there finance guy?????? very good at what he does, stealing. My 5000.00 went into someone pocket. they advertise bad credit no problem, because they want people that dont know finances too well. I was financed with a 9.5 interest rate from them, 3 months later I refinanced with a real bank at 2.5 percent.Desired Settlement: My $7211.00 back .

Highly recommended. Salesman Scott Yaeger was a major help. -[redacted]

Review: On 12/**/2015, our family went to Revolution Kia to purchase a car for my daughter. She had previously spoken a salesman, Scott, after having her Kia Ronda repaired, to trade in that vehicle for a new one.

On that Sunday, we chose a car, invoice price of $18,645.00, established a trade-in price for the Kia Rondo of $1200.00, and an additional incentive of $1700.00. We were assured that we would qualify for the current financing promotion of 0% financing and that Kia would pay the first two months of payments. We made it perfectly clear to Scott that the payments, when financed, would not exceed $300 per month for 60 months.

When my wife and daughter went back to sign the finance agreement, they did so without reading or understanding the finance contract. When they returned home with the contract, I immediately noticed a material discrepancy in what we had negotiated to what was represented in the agreement. The sale price of the car had now reached $22,755.69 from $18,645.00, not including taxes in either case. The finance agreement went from $300/month for 60 months at 0% to $314/month for 66 months at 0.9%.

We returned to the dealership that evening, but Scott, professing to know nothing about finance, could not explain the discrepancy. He asked us to return the next day and his "finance" guy, Peter, would be able to explain.

We returned the next night, met with both Peter and Scott, but they still not able to explain the difference in sale price. They asked us again to return the next day to resolve the issue.

We returned the next evening again, but they could not or would explain the difference. The reason was that Sid, the General Manager of the franchise, was the one who wrote the final deal, but was not available. They promised that Sid would call me at work before 12:00pm the next day (Christmas Eve). I never received the call.

My wife went back to the dealership that Sunday after Christmas, and she was promised that we would receive a phone call the next day to resolve everything. Alas, no call was received.

On Thursday next, I telephoned the dealership and had to leave a message for Sid, Peter and Scott, explaining my frustration and informing them of my decision to notify the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Revdex.com of the situation if it were not cleared up by 01/**/2016. I received no reply.

We are not challenging the signing of the agreement, That was done in our error. I am challenging that there is a material defect in the finance agreement, caused by, what I have been lead to understand, an option package being included in the cost of the vehicle, which includes remote start, a spare tire and other perks. We were never presented with this option, would have refused it if offered, and have not received any benefit from it, as the car did not come with the remote start or even the spare tire.Desired Settlement: I am hoping that your agency will contact Revolution Kia and cause them to explain the difference in sales price and, if warranted, declare the original finance agreement null and void due to a material defect in composition, and write a new finance agreement.

customer was refunded the difference in good will and they are very happy now.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.Kia satisfied their obligation to us. However, I resent their opinion that I am very happy about it. They never answered my original questions of how the sales price was calculated. They originally offered a settlement that was almost half the agreed upon recourse. If this happened to us, how many others has it happened to, and did not realize that it happened.Financially, this has been settled. From an ethical standpoint, it leaves a lot to be desired.

Sincerely,

Had a great experience with Scott. Highly recommended
