Our company did everything we possibly could to correct the charges that were placed on his credit cardWe were going through system changes and it was actually the repfrom our new credit card processing company that was trying to show us how to run a [redacted] card and kept getting error messages saying the charges did not go throughNever the less, yes the second two charges on his card should not have been processed at the timeWe found out why many companies choose not to do business with ***It was a slow process in which we never actually got funded for the jobHe disputed all charges, even the ones we had already completed work forI have many emails from him stating how good the job was going and how pleased he wasEven though he requested much more than what was in the original contract, we obliged him because of the mix up in charges and wanted to go above and beyond to make him happyHe requested a change order for replacement of the insulation going from what was originally in the contract to hand laid batting which is much more expensiveI quoted him a price that was completely within industry standard to replace [redacted] ***, being a handyman himself thought the price was much too highHonestly at this point, knowing what type of customer he was, I was more than happy to let him out of his contractWe completed the job up to the point of agreement and I issued a check for the difference of the credit card charges (at this point I was not aware that he had disputed all charges, so I actually paid him another dollars on top of not getting any payment from job) He never attempted to deposit the check we issued, He stated that there were not funds in the account, but as most business, even if there are not funds when an item is presented, we have lines of credit and overdraft protection to cover thisHe never presented the check for paymentSo, with advice from my attorney, I responded to the disputed [redacted] charges , sent them copies of the signed contract and e mails stating the job was done to satisfactionWithin a day [redacted] called and offered to have a cashiers check for us for the disputed charges to close out jobIt was only after the agreed part of the job we finished were we paid anything in the endThere is no way I can respond to each allegation in his complaint but our company has an excellent reputation when it comes to our serviceWe have the highest possible rating both with Revdex.com and [redacted] ***There are customers that you simply can not please(of our business comes from referrals and it is unfortunate that this customer was not satisfiedAs far as the resolution, since he filed a dispute with ***, it is up to them to determine the outcomeWhat he is worried about is getting in trouble for filing a dispute and for charges that were already signed off onOf course, if the funds are credited back to us through ***, we will refund any amount owed to the customerAs of now, our company and this customer are all squareI have informed [redacted] that we have settled with the customerSo as far as I know , the resolution he is looking for was done long before this complaint

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Please reopen this complaint as it is not resolvedThe company did not follow up as promised.Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Refund amount not adequate Mr [redacted] , I reject your response to my complaint and it saddens me to read what you postedYou have continued your attack on my character both in Angie’s List emails: 11/03/– “***, you are not being honest in your response.” 11/06/– “There was something very suspicious about how everything was handled on your end.” 11/06/- “I have been in this business a long time ***, and I know when I am being set up”There was something very suspicious about how everything was handled on your end Angie’s List customer business reviews; 11/03/- Unfortunately, this customer hired us as a contractor, knowing full well they were not going to pay for the services we did, or let us correct any issues they might have And now here on Revdex.com; “We feel that this customer intentionally set us up for failure on this project.” “There were some very suspicious issues with the ducts.” As for my character assassination, it doesn’t bother me as I’m an adult and I can take it, continue if you must I would like to point out that if I hired your company with the intent to have you, your son and ultimately Rhino Energy Solutions (RES) fail from the outright, your son [redacted] and you, Mr [redacted] are complicit in this conspiracyNo complaint would have ever been filed if the new white insulation which your son put in our attic on the 17th of October had not come through the vent into our home that same evening thus causing us to go up into the attic the next morning to thoroughly inspect the work that had been donePrior to that insulation falling, we had paid the bill in full and received a $dollar discount (thank you Mr [redacted] for that), and were happy with RES with the exception of the initial inspection (items not inspected), however you explained this satisfactorily in the review on Angie’s List that Angie’s List mistakenly listed items that RES does not cover as a business Anyway, when we went up into the attic and inspected the work, as we mentioned before, we found that not all cuffs were sealed, one was dislodged from the plenum, the insulation was blown into the shape of a bowl, and the R rating was only (not the 48-as agreed upon)So, for the conspiracy, your son [redacted] would have to purposefully not seal all the cuffs, purposefully knocked out the specific cuff that would allow the new insulation to blow into the house exactly where it could be witnessed by our dinner guests, purposefully blow the insulation in a bowl pattern, under insulate to so not to reach the R48-as agreed uponFor your part Mr [redacted] , you would have to purposefully not brought enough insulation in the back of your pickup truck as well as the work trailer on the day of the job thus ensuring we would not get the R48-52, tell your son to lie to my wife, “the ducts and cuffs are already sealed, you’ll never have to worry about them again.” In reference to the lack of insulation, “Fourteen inches of insulation is equal to an R rating of 40, that’s an industry standard.” Then you would have to lie to me in an email via Angie’s web site stating that [redacted] told you, “ all the ducts and leaks were sealed-10/20/14.” Then once I sent you pictures of the unsealed cuffs, holes in the flex holes, and measuring strips showing the R rating between & 30, you delayed a week to inspect because you would be out of town (understandable) but during that time, we couldn’t use our A/C due to the cuff being out of the plenum and the gap being 5” long and 1.5” wide and did not send out another employee in your place to resolve the issues expeditiously For your latest commentsI am sorry that you feel we somehow sabotaged the work your son did just to get money back; again, if it wouldn’t have been for the insulation coming into the house, we would have been ignorant of the issues“You stated, Two days later, we received an email showing pictures of some concerns the customer had with the workThe customer immediately asked for a refund and threatened to leave negative reviews on Revdex.com and Angie's list, never asking for the minor issues to be corrected.” Yes, it was two days laterWhen you were at my home on the 13th and 17th of October, you saw me wearing a back braceAfter crawling around in the attic on the 18th, I had to stay prone for a day before I could move around againAs for the threat, I stated, “Our review on Angie's List as well as Revdex.com will reflect accordingly.- 10/20/14” The definition of a threat Mr [redacted] is: ‘a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done.’ I did not make any statement to which I threatened you, your son or any employee of RES with any physical bodily harm nor did I threaten the facilities, equipment of the employees or RES with damageHow you took my statement is up to you but it’s intent was to let you know that I was going to post negative reviews so that you and RES would not be blindsided (surprised), by them, that’s all Mr [redacted] As for being minor issues: 1) lying, 2) not providing product/service as agreed upon, 3) taking the word of an employee over the customer, 4) delaying coming out to inspect the complaints for days instead of sending another employee to handle it immediately, offering no apology to the customer, and 5) accusing the customer of lying and now sabotage - these are not “minor” issues to me Mr [redacted] Continuing, you stated, “There were some very suspicious issues with the ductsOne of the ducts that had been obviously sealed, was pulled completely out of the plenum box, this could have been done by the hose hitting it, but for anyone with knowledge of how these are attached, this is very unlikely.” Mr [redacted] , you were the person who initially suggested that it was your son who, with the hose, had knocked the cuff out of the plenum when you came back out and inspectedYou further stated that it looked as if your son did not do a final inspection after the work was completed and if he had done so, would have caught it and fixed it on the spotBut if it is suspicious, are you saying your son did this on purpose so your company would be able to charge us more money to fix it? I hope that’s not what your Mr [redacted] “There were also obvious trails where people had walked throughout the attic, which made it difficult to tell the insulation level in the atticThe only “people” to walk through the attic were my wife and I and that was to take the pics you sawThe square footage is so I doubt that our walking on the joists (which were easy to see in the center of the attic as there was little new insulation), would have negated the R rating of the agreed R48-down to an R26- Finally, you stated“It is disappointing that although we offered to go above and beyond what was needed to insure quality work, the customer evidently, was only interested in getting a job done for a reduced price.” If we wanted to get a job done for a reduced price, we would have tried to talk the price down on our initial meeting on the 13th of OctoberAs you stated, we paid the full price, minus $100, with “no issues.” If we were only interested in getting the job for a reduced price, I would not have paid you the same day the job was completedI’m only asking for a refund for the work that was not provided as agreed upon Requested Resolution: On 11/06/Mr [redacted] , you stated in an email, “***, as we have discussed before, every so often, things are overlookedwe were willing to go above and beyond to make you satisfied after I came over and agreed that some of the items were not up to par.” On 10/21/2014, you stated in an email, “I want you to get exactly what you paid for.” That statement to me also means, I should pay for exactly what I receivedYou have already offered to fully refund the cost of the duct/cuff sealing ($minus the $discount you already applied, thank you for that), so $and $refund on the cost of the insulationRES came nowhere close to the R48-as agreed upon and due to the five issues stated above, you state your company may be reputable but you are an employee of RES Mr [redacted] and I base my opinion of RES on you, and I have no trust in you Mr [redacted] after those so called minor issuesI do apologize if I have offended you in any way by my actions but I will not be lied to or cheated nor will I do this to othersIf it does happen to me I do get offended and tend to get hot headed but I do not threaten, as you so stated I honestly do wish you and your company the best in the future Regards, *** [redacted]

We feel that this customer intentionally set us up for failure on this projectAs the customer stated, the owner of the company was there when the crew started working, and never said a word about canceling the duct sealOnly after he left and the guys finished the job was this brought upOur
charges for this service are exactly in line with industry standardUpon completion of the job, the customer went up into the attic, with the crew leader to inspectAfterwards, the crew cleaned up and leftThat afternoon, the owner called the customer to ask if all went well and if they were satisfiedThe customer then brought up that they felt that the work on the ducts did not justify the priceOur company offered to deduct off the cost and only then, asked for any payment from the customerThe payment was given via credit card with no issuesTwo days later, we recieved an email showing pictures of some concerns the customer had with the workThe customer immediately asked for a refund and threatened to leave negative reviews on Revdex.com and Angie's list, never asking for the minor issues to be correctedWe emaid back and explained that part of being a reputable company was immediately addressing any concerns and correlating themThe owner set up an appointment and went out to inspect and offer to correct any issuesThere were some very suspicious issues with the ductsOne of the ducts that had been obviously sealed, was pulled completely out of the plenum box, this could have been done by the hose hitting it, but for anyone with knowledge of how these are attached, this is very unlikelyThere were also obvious trails where people had walked throughout the attic, which made it difficult to tell the insulation level in the atticNever the less, we offered to immediately correct the issues and do whatever was needed to make the satisfied, The customer was not interested in this, they only wanted money backThe owner explained that we have all had service providers that we have had to have come back and correct issues that they were hired to doAnd, a reputable, honest company will always come back and make sure they doThis is exactly what we did, without asking any questionsThe customer was still set on only moneySo, we offered to refund the cost of the complete duct seal, and, towards the insulation material needed to touch up and fill the atticThis would be a total refund of We feel that this is more than fair in this caseIt is disappointing that although we offered to go above and beyond what was needed to insure quality work, the customer evidently, was only interested in getting a job done for a reduced price

We are contacting this client today to set up a time to get this resolvedThis is an unusual challenge for us because there are a family of racoons that have infiltrated every thing we have used to block the atticWe are consulting with an animal control expert to try and find a permanent
solutionWe had emailed the client last week prior to this complaint letting him know we were unavailable until this week

Rhino Energy solutions will contact this customer and get an independent inspection done on the foam pockets under houseWe want to make sure that a thorough job was done and any touch ups are needed , we will take care ofI have contacted the foam contractor and he will be setting something up
with homeowner within daysAs far as the rebates, we did submit paperwork for local rebates for this customerCPS energy had already issued a rebate for her attic insulation, but was not offering one for the under home insulationWe cannot control their policyWe would be willing to discuss a refund amount for the customer for the time it took in handling this matterThank you

Been a while since they came and insolated my attic but since then my house hasn't felt any betterMy kids don't complain about their room getting so hot or too cold anymore

Response to Business
In the message from Rhino Energy on 9-15-at 8:34am , “We are contacting this client today to setup a time to get this resolved”I have not received any correspondence from company.
On the day of the original complaint, I sent an email to the company and file a compliant approximately around the same time out of frustration due to multiple attempts to contact company. It is my feeling that the avoidance is intentional
I do not feel that Rhino Energy has done the job they were paid to do
History
I contacted Rhino Energy after a recommendation from an animal control specialist. The Animal Control Specialist removed a small raccoon from an interior wall of my home on 7-10-2014. The discussions with the Animal Control Specialist was that the gable screen needed to be rescreened and reinforced with a caged type wire screen. He showed me a sample of the screen that was needed to secure the gable to stop the raccoons from coming in.
The opening of the gable is approximately 15ft. Rhino energy brought a piece of wire screen about 7ft long and patch the opening the agreement was to securely rescreen the gable. This was not doneThe second attempt Rhino energy used poultry netting (inadequate for raccoons) to attempt to cover the openings from the inside. Raccoons were able to penetrate the poultry netting. The last discussion was that the gables would be covered from the outside temporarily
Rhino was paid to clean up areas (waste and nesting made by raccoons) employee went into the attic with a plastic trash bag to remove waste, trash bag was empty when employee came out of attic, which appears that waste was left and covered with insulation.
*** with Rhino energy told me that he was going to come back and spray opening with Pepper spray to deter raccoons from entry. He did not return to spray, for I have wildlife cameras that would have captured him doing so. There is a hole in my ceiling that was caused by Rhino Energy that remains to this day.

Better Business...

Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
But, I what it to be said that this company has said this before on Monday May 15 2017, I got a TEXT from [redacted](the owner) stating the same thing and I will get a check by the end of the week and now it is Aug. 7th, 2017 and still no return of my money this has been going on for about a year. They never keep their promises.
Regards,

The owner this customer dealt with, [redacted], is no longer with us due to health reasons. We did look into this and saw where it was contracted to a glass company.  we have tried to get ahold of them,  but no response to date . we will get a refund check for the full amount out to this...

customer within 10 days. We apologize for any inconvenience. This one looked to have fallen through the cracks when mr. [redacted] left.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Rhino Energy has repeatedly assured us that they would deal with...

our incomplete insulation job, but for 16 months they haven't even bothered to stop back to our property to inspect the shoddy work.  Any legal action taken against the subcontractor does not involve us in any way.  We hired and paid Rhino Energy in full for work which has never been completed, and we expect to be fully reimbursed immediately.  Rhino can pursue its claim against the subcontractor on its own time.

[redacted], I had emailed this customer twice with no response. I found out yesterday that the emails were not going through to him. I just emailed him this morning to set up a time to complete. Here is a copy of the email.

[redacted], good morning. I am sorry for the lapse. I had sent two response emails through our contact form and realized after the Revdex.com response they were returned to my spam box. Let me know a day that is good for you next week and we will be there to fix the hole and to screen the outside. On a side note, in talking to the exterminator, he did say the racoon will have to be caught or exterminated in order for them not to get back in the home. They will chew through anything apparently. Once again, sorry for the communication issue, we will get you fixed up.

My father, and owner of the business has been out of the office due to medical reasons for the last couple months. I did speak to him concerning this and spoke to the Window company last week. They are issuing us a refund this week and I will send a full refund out to this customer.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The claim that they did everything they could and more to make me happy is a dog that won't hunt.
Neither is their claim that I am a client difficult to please. I expected the job be done well and in a timely manner.
Yes, I own a handyman company and thus know more than the average homeowner. I was pleased with the work after the final cleaning - which should have been done correctly the first time. I did NOT send numerous emails indicating how pleased I was.

The down payment was for $1075 and thus that should have been the only charge, instead they charged $1095, $1093 and $1195 for a total of $3383. The entire quote was for $3321 thus $82 more - interesting? ....Yes.  Coincidence? .....I don't think so.
The time frame to get the charges reversed was long with promises to pull cash to settle overcharge not fulfilled as the emails support. In the end the charges were NOT reversed by the company and so I finally disputed the charges with [redacted].
The change from blown in insulation to batt insulation was suggested by my HVAC company in order to reduce potential particulate matter from coming into the home - important since my wife has asthma and I have COPD. Owner's statement "I quoted him a price that was completely within industry standards to replace" is bogus. Most people know that prices vary by supplier and discounts apply. Again, all of this is supported by the emails between me and the company.
An envelope of $600 cash and a post dated company check (not cashiers) for $826 was received - I asked the bank to check if funds were available - THEY WERE NOT. The bank noted same on a sheet with a copy of the check. The bank gave me the check verification number for his bank and once again FUNDS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. I should have simply allowed the bank to process and test his contention that overdraft protection would have taken care of the funds.
The claim that "I am worried about is getting in trouble for filing a false dispute and for charges were already signed off on" is absurd on its face. I sent ALL the emails between Rhino and me to [redacted] so they can determine its legitimacy.
It is indeed unfortunate that the company's rating by the Revdex.com and [redacted] is excellent. My rejoinder would be:
                                        ... BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
