Rhino Energy Solutions Reviews (23)

We have taken legal action against the company that actually installed the insulation to this home, and and are working to resolve this matter and will in the near future.

Our company did everything we possibly could to correct the charges that were placed on his credit card. We were going through system changes and it was actually the rep. from our new credit card processing company that was trying to show us how to run a [redacted] card and kept getting error messages...

saying the charges did not go through. Never the less, yes the second two charges on his card should not have been processed at the time. We found out why many companies choose not to do business with [redacted]. It was a slow process in which we never actually got funded for the job. He disputed all charges, even the ones we had already completed work for. I have many emails from him stating how good the job was going and how pleased he was. Even though he requested much more than what was in the original contract, we obliged him because of the mix up in charges and wanted to go above and beyond to make him happy. He requested a change order for replacement of the insulation going from what was originally in the contract to hand laid batting which is much more expensive. I quoted him a price that was completely within industry standard to replace. [redacted], being a handyman himself thought the price was much too high. Honestly at this point, knowing what type of customer he was, I was more than happy to let him out of his contract. We completed the job up to the point of agreement and I issued a check for the difference of the credit card charges (at this point I was not aware that he had disputed all charges, so I actually paid him another 800 dollars on top of not getting any payment from job) He never attempted to deposit the check we issued, He stated that there were not funds in the account, but as most business, even if there are not funds when an item is presented, we have lines of credit and overdraft protection to cover this. He never presented the check for payment. So, with advice from my attorney, I responded to the disputed [redacted] charges , sent them copies of the signed contract and e mails stating the job was done to satisfaction. Within a day [redacted] called and offered to have a cashiers check for us for the disputed charges to close out job. It was only after the agreed part of the job we finished were we paid anything in the end. There is no way I can respond to each allegation in his complaint but our company has an excellent reputation when it comes to our service. We have the highest possible rating both with Revdex.com and [redacted]. There are customers that you simply can not please. (05 of our business comes from referrals and it is unfortunate that this customer was not satisfied. As far as the resolution, since he filed a dispute with [redacted], it is up to them to determine the outcome. What he is worried about is getting in trouble for filing a false dispute and for charges that were already signed off on. Of course, if the funds are credited back to us through [redacted], we will refund any amount owed to the customer. As of now, our company and this customer are all square. I have informed [redacted] that we have settled with the customer. So as far as I know , the resolution he is looking for was done long before this complaint.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Refund amount not adequate
Mr. [redacted],
I reject your response to my complaint and it saddens me to read what you posted. You have continued your attack on my character both in
Angie’s List emails:
11/03/14 – “[redacted], you are not being honest in your response.”
11/06/14 – “There was something very suspicious about how everything was handled on your end.”
11/06/2014 -  “I have been in this business a long time [redacted], and I know when I am being set up. ”There
was something very suspicious about how everything was handled on your end.
Angie’s List customer business reviews;
11/03/14 - Unfortunately, this customer hired us as a contractor, knowing full well they were not going to pay for the services we did, or let us
correct any issues they might have.
And now here on Revdex.com;
“We feel that this customer intentionally set us up for failure on this project.”
“There were some very suspicious issues with the ducts.”
As for my character assassination, it doesn’t bother me as I’m an adult and I can take it, continue if you must.
I would like to point out that if I hired your company with the intent to have you, your son and ultimately Rhino Energy Solutions (RES)
fail from the outright, your son [redacted] and you, Mr. [redacted] are complicit in this conspiracy. No complaint would have ever been filed if the new white
insulation which your son put in our attic on the 17th of October had not come through the vent into our home that same evening thus causing us
to go up into the attic the next morning to thoroughly inspect the work that had been done. Prior to that insulation falling, we had paid the bill in full
and received a $100 dollar discount (thank you Mr. [redacted] for that), and were happy with RES with the exception of the initial inspection (items not
inspected), however you explained this satisfactorily in the review on Angie’s List that Angie’s List mistakenly listed items that RES does not cover as a
business.
Anyway, when we went up into the attic and inspected the work, as we mentioned before, we found that not all cuffs were sealed, one was
dislodged from the plenum, the insulation was blown into the shape of a bowl, and the R rating was only 30 (not the 48-52 as agreed upon). So, for the
conspiracy, your son [redacted] would have to purposefully not seal all the cuffs, purposefully knocked out the specific cuff that would allow the new insulation
to blow into the house exactly where it could be witnessed by our dinner guests, purposefully blow the insulation in a bowl pattern, under insulate to
so not to reach the R48-52 as agreed upon. For your part Mr. [redacted], you would have to purposefully not brought enough insulation in the back of your pickup
truck as well as the work trailer on the day of the job thus ensuring we would not get the R48-52, tell your son to lie to my wife, “the ducts and cuffs are
already sealed, you’ll never have to worry about them again.” In reference to the lack of insulation, “Fourteen inches of insulation is equal to an R rating
of 40, that’s an industry standard.” Then you would have to lie to me in an email via Angie’s web site stating that [redacted] told you, “…all the ducts and
leaks were sealed-10/20/14.” Then once I sent you pictures of the unsealed cuffs, holes in the flex holes, and measuring strips showing the R rating
between 26 & 30, you delayed a week to inspect because you would be out of town (understandable) but during that time, we couldn’t use our A/C due to the
cuff being out of the plenum and the gap being 5” long and 1.5” wide and did not send out another employee in your place to resolve the issues expeditiously.
For your latest comments. I am sorry that you feel we somehow sabotaged the work your son did just to get money back; again, if it
wouldn’t have been for the insulation coming into the house, we would have been ignorant of the issues. “You stated, Two days later, we
received an email showing pictures of some concerns the customer had with the work. The customer immediately asked for a refund and threatened to leave
negative reviews on Revdex.com and Angie's list, never asking for the minor issues to be corrected.” Yes, it was two days later. When you were at my home on the 13th
and 17th of October, you saw me wearing a back brace. After crawling around in the attic on the 18th, I had to stay prone for a day before I could
move around again. As for the threat, I stated, “Our review on Angie's List as well as Revdex.com will reflect accordingly.- 10/20/14” The definition of a
threat Mr. [redacted] is: ‘a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for
something done or not done.’ I did not make any statement to which I threatened you, your son or any employee of RES with any physical bodily harm nor did I
threaten the facilities, equipment of the employees or RES with damage. How you took my statement is up to you but it’s intent was to let you know that I was
going to post negative reviews so that you and RES would not be blindsided (surprised), by them, that’s all Mr. [redacted]. As for being minor issues: 1)
lying, 2) not providing product/service as agreed upon, 3) taking the word of an employee over the customer, 4) delaying coming out to inspect the complaints
for days instead of sending another employee to handle it immediately, offering no apology to the customer, and 5) accusing the customer of lying and now
sabotage - these are not “minor” issues to me Mr. [redacted].
Continuing, you stated, “There were some very suspicious issues with the ducts. One of the ducts that had been obviously
sealed, was pulled completely out of the plenum box, this could have been done by the hose hitting it, but for anyone with knowledge of how these are attached,
this is very unlikely.” Mr. [redacted], you were the person who initially suggested that it was your son who, with the hose, had knocked the cuff out of the plenum
when you came back out and inspected. You further stated that it looked as if your son did not do a final inspection after the work was completed and if he
had done so, would have caught it and fixed it on the spot. But if it is suspicious, are you saying your son did this on purpose so your company would
be able to charge us more money to fix it? I hope that’s not what your Mr. [redacted]. “There were also obvious trails where people had walked throughout the
attic, which made it difficult to tell the insulation level in the attic. The only “people” to walk through the attic were my wife and I and that was to take
the pics you saw. The square footage is 1550 so I doubt that our walking on the joists (which were easy to see in the center of the attic as there was little
new insulation), would have negated the R rating of the agreed R48-52 down to an R26-30.
Finally, you stated. “It is disappointing that although we offered to go above and beyond what was needed to insure
quality work, the customer evidently, was only interested in getting a job done for a reduced price.” If we
wanted to get a job done for a reduced price, we would have tried to talk the price down on our initial meeting on the 13th of October. As you
stated, we paid the full price, minus $100, with “no issues.” If we were only interested in getting the job for a reduced price, I would not have paid you
the same day the job was completed. I’m only asking for a refund for the work that was not provided as agreed upon.
Requested Resolution:
On 11/06/14 Mr. [redacted], you stated in an email, “[redacted], as we have discussed before, every so often, things are
overlooked.. we were willing to go above and beyond to make you satisfied after I came over and agreed that some of the items were not up to par.” On
10/21/2014, you stated in an email, “I want you to get exactly what you paid for.” That statement to me also means, I should pay for exactly what I
received. You have already offered to fully refund the cost of the duct/cuff sealing ($350 minus the $100 discount you already applied, thank you for that),
so $250 and $450 refund on the cost of the insulation. RES came nowhere close to the R48-52 as agreed upon and due to the five issues stated above, you state
your company may be reputable but you are an employee of RES Mr. [redacted] and I base my opinion of RES on you, and I have no trust in you Mr. [redacted] after
those so called minor issues. I do apologize if I have offended you in any way by my actions but I will not be lied to or cheated nor will I do this to
others. If it does happen to me I do get offended and tend to get hot headed but I do not threaten, as you so stated.
I honestly do wish you and your company the best in the future.
Regards,
[redacted] [redacted]
