Right Toyota Reviews (62)

Very enjoyable! I felt as though I was in good hands. Both men were very honest and seemed to have my best interest at heart. The fact that they did business with integrity makes me feel comfortable to refer others.

Review: On December 2, 2015 I went to Right Toyota and a salesman Gabriel G[redacted] walked over to me and asked what I was looking for, I told him a Toyota Tacoma 4x4. we found one and test drove it and then started the numbers game. manager Dave N[redacted] came out sat with me and Gabriel and told me he could sell me the truck $23,00.00 OTD I would have 7 years Bumper to bumper 100,000 mile warranty and a two year oil and maintenance, but to keep him out of trouble I would have to finance it and when I got the bill just pay it off. Dave told me there is no penalty in Arizona for paining off a bill and it would still be $23,00.00 OTD and asked me if it was a deal, I said yes and we shook hands. then Ryan M[redacted] started the paper work and had me sign a number of papers and wrote a check for $869.13 and I asked him when I get the bill to pay off what would the difference be, Ryan stated $22,130.87. On December 23, 2015 I received the bill and called the 800 number and stated that I wanted to pay off the truck, the lady stated the pay off was $29, some thing because I was shocked and told her that the deal was $23,00.00 OTD she said that I was in a leasing contract for 35 months and that I needed to go back to the dealer which I told her that that was over 125 miles from me so she said to call them and cancel the contract or I would be charged with payments. I called the dealership and got the run around telling me they would get back to me that day. On December 24, 2015 Ryan M[redacted] called me back and I was mad, I told hi that was not the deal and he said that he would cancel the contract and have to remove all the warranty's etc. and I needed to drive up and sign papers when could I do this I stated Saturday. Saturday the 26, 2015 I made a 254 mile round trip for nothing, Ryan said the billing department was closed and it would take him 12 weeks to get this done so I needed to just make payment in the meantime. so I asked him if I needed to get a lawyer which he stopped talking.Desired Settlement: I tried to pay Ryan M[redacted] but he said he couldn't accept payment. I want the original deal that Dave N[redacted] and I shook hands on. cancel the bogus leasing contract that I never agreed to and let me write a check for the balance of $22,130.87

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I Have just been punched in the gut. Right Toyota has just told me that essentially what they told me 2 years ago regarding my lease was all lies. I now find myself having to come up with a large sum of money, which, if taken out of my IRA funds, will potentially reduce my income to the point that I will have to choose whether to make my house payment or buy my wife’s prescriptions.
It seems that the culture of lies that the courts just found at the top level, have permeated down to the local dealerships, as well. It, evidently, has been going on a while. Checking, after the fact, on the Revdex.com site, Right Toyota has 4 negative revues and 6 positive. Some of the negative ones are similar to what I encountered; the positive ones, and this is interesting, were all written shortly after the first two negative revues, some mentioning the same things, and all within a month of each other—3 on the same day! Let me tell you exactly what happened . . . .
June 2012
So I’m sitting in the service area waiting for my 2007 Camry Hybrid when a salesman1 sits down next to me and starts a conversation. Of course, they had a demand for cars exactly like mine, and would do anything to get me to trade. Little did I know . . . Anyway, I tell him I bought the Camry instead of a Prius for the size and trunk space, only to find the trunk tiny and full of battery, and would rather had the Prius; but now I had it and couldn’t afford to trade.
He said, “Let me try to work something out.” At this point, I explained my financial situation. My income comes solely from Social Security and a percentage withdrawal from my IRA mutual funds, and I purchased my house at the top of the market. When the market crashed, I found myself over $100,000 under water and my IRA fund cut in half. I’m still well under water on the house, and, while the stock market has come back, in the interim, my sizeable cash reserve was completely dissipated.
Well, he tried every sort of money gymnastics to find something I would go for. By this time, his brother2 , who was some sort of manager/supervisor was part of the conversation. I finally told them to forget it, as I had told them, I CAN’T AFFORD IT! . . . if I could, I would have, at least, given you a counter offer, but there’s NO MONEY, period. They said, “Let me try one more thing.” They disappeared into some office for some time. When he1 got back, he said: “How about a lease?” I told him that I had never leased before, that it was not appropriate for my situation, and I wouldn’t consider it.
He told me Toyota had just started a new lease program that they wanted to get going. They would take my car ($10,000.), and give me a new Prius for 2 years rather than the usual 3 for less than $100 per month. When I asked, “Then what?” he said, with his brother standing right there, that after 2 years, I bring it back and get a new one for the same payment! When I questioned that, he said I could trade every 2 years forever with the lease payment staying the same. When I asked how that was possible, I was told that because of my trade, I was leasing only half a car, and that equity carried over, and every two years Toyota had a low-mileage Prius that they could make good money on. It was a relatively new program I said OK.
They took me to a new financial guy3 who said it was a new position for him, and he didn’t have cards with the new title yet. The “old” one said, “Sales & Leasing Manager”. When I questioned him on the deal, he affirmed everything they had told me. After signing the papers, and commenting that what they had told me was not specifically laid out, they said, “Don’t worry about it---it also says limited to 12000 miles per year, and you don’t have to pay attention to that either.”(Later, I was sent a new contract with a 15000 mile limit.) It was then that I asked each one of them in separate conversations if I should get it in writing or go buy a gun! My statement was purposely outrageous to insure they would remember it and the promises leading up to it. If asked, I’m sure they will.
As explanation, the General Sales Manager4 told me that because gas prices are down, the demand and therefore the value of the Prius is also down, and if it were worth about $6000 more, they would be able to fulfill their “promises”. However, because my car is not worth $6000 more, my lease would have to be $468 more! ($95 vs. $563) [Sound right to you? . . . me either!]
So it seems that I have been lied to by at least 3 separate employees of Right Toyota seemingly in collusion, had my $10,000 Camry stolen from me along with the rebate on the Prius, and left with a car on which I owe more than its market value. This could only happen in an environment in which such dealings are accepted.

I read the reviews posted by others complaining about the sales and staff at Right Toyota in Arizona after my son purchased a truck. The complaints are just as common in that state as it is in our state. It was a very frustrating, learning experience to find out how expensive and difficult it can be when a young person purchases an out of state truck and has to deal with the registration portion in 2 states. The bad reviews of Right Toyota (as with many other dealerships) is regarding financing and costs. Gauging young people with no credit with high interest rates and salespersons tactics which are not governed by a licensing requirement is an industry problem - not a dealership problem. There are just as many buyers who want something for nothing and retaliate if they don't get it as there are salespeople who exaggerate the truth. There should be some special financing for young first time buyers (like first time home buyers). Those people who have purchased vehicles before sometimes are looking to get a better deal because perhaps they were taken advantage of their first time out.
We were not thrilled about the financing portion, the other departments at Right Toyota were really good and we had a different experience. We were under a lot of time constraints - and was during the worst time of the year Christmas. Right Toyota had to listen to a lot of whining, crying and repeated phone calls and emails to accomplish the goal - register a truck. Bill H[redacted]s in Customer Service was responsive and Lupita in Titling and Registration was patient, inform us of the requirements and went out of her way to solve the last minute problems we had in our own state.

Truly wonderful experience. Robin C[redacted] knew everything about the 2 cars we were looking for and helped my wife & I find the right fit for each of us. Jason D[redacted] is the best there is in this industry. He is a true professional that cares about his clients.

Review: I was not given the advertised price of the vehicle I purchased.

Service Maintenance that cost $2,500 was added to my contract when I had stated I didn't want it but the finance manager agreed to provide for free due to acceptance of the GAP insurance.

I had stated that I would be purchasing the vehicle with my mother as a co-signer to the loan, yet I only see my name as the co-signer and my mother as the owner.Desired Settlement: I would like the contract to show the advertised price of the vehicle I purchased to be $17,888 instead of the $18,888 I was charged for a 2010 Toyota Prius. I would also like removed, the charge of $2,500 for the Service Maintenance for 100,000 miles without increasing the APR on the loan. Lastly, I would like to be named the owner of the vehicle with my mother as the co-signer. Lastly, $499 for documentation fees is not reasonable.

Excellent. [redacted] was excellent!!

Review: I purchased a vehicle from "David Wilson's Right Toyota" on 04/02/2016 and traded in another vehicle. The odometer reading on the purchased vehicle was around 26,500 miles. I test drove and decided to make the purchase. Later, while at my residence, I was going through the settings of the in-dash display while in accessory mode, and there is a screen that has the last reset of the oil change mileage being 40,361. This is quite the difference and an issue. I went in the next day and spoke to a gentleman. He said that is an issue and he'd like to research it, but if I wanted to void and cancel the transaction, they can. He asked me to come on Monday, 04/04/2016 at 8:30 AM. I asked if he can send me a confirmation e-mail and he said sure, so he gave me his business card. I e-mailed him a few times in total with no response and a phone call in the middle asking if he was going to e-mail me the confirmation. He said it isn't a problem and he hasn't checked his e-mail yet. I, ultimately, had to go back to the dealership on Sunday and have him e-mail me, but he only sent a sentence of received, see you tomorrow. I spoke to him in person and he stated he will not put that in writing, but they sell 700 cars per month and voiding one transaction wouldn't kill them. I went in Monday morning and was told the gentleman is off today, so I had to speak to someone else. I showed them the issue and they went to another dealership, which told them it was "normal". They came back and said that I signed the contract and the truck is yours, we won't be taking it back. I asked them about the previous day, but they said nothing was in writing, so I have no grounds. They said it's not an odometer issue or an issue at all and "nobody looks at the truck in accessory mode". I asked why they were being so difficult and they brought up AZ law, etc. This is an issue that needs to be resolved like they said it would be on Sunday with the cancellation and voiding of the sales transaction.Desired Settlement: They will need to void the transaction and they will get the purchased vehicle back (2014 Ram) and I would get the trading in vehicle back (2012 Nissan Altima). I told them that is the only resolution we have and they said they would on Sunday, so nothing should have changed.

Revdex.com [redacted]RE: Complaint ID#: [redacted]To Whom It May Concern,We received the complaint from Mr. [redacted] and responded to his concerns as promptly as possible. Although we had a perfectly plausible explanation for the issues Mr. Ogden had with the vehicle he purchased from us, we allowed him to r eturn the vehicle. The dealership considers this matter resolved.

Review: May 28TH, 2013

DEAR MR.[redacted],

I HAVE BEEN STEWING OVER THIS SINCE, LEARNING FROM TOYOTA. LAST WEEK THAT SUPPOSEDLY

[redacted] WINTER, HAD CALLED ME REGARDING ME BEING RIPPED OFF BY YOUR DEALERSHIP.

SO NOW I WILL SHARE OUR EXPERIENCE, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY, AND I SIMPLY COULD NOT

WAIT ANY LONGER !!!

ON SATURDAY JUNE 2ND 2012, MY WIFE [redacted] STOPPED INTO YOUR DEALERSHIP

TO HAVE HER TOYOTA CAMRY SERVICED.

WHILE WAITING FOR HER CAR SHE WAS APPROACHED BY A SALES REPRESENTATIVE

HE PROCEEDED TO CONVINCE HER TO LOOK AT NEW TOYOTA VENZA'S.

A FEW HOURS LATER MY WIFE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT SHE WOULD LIKE ME TO COME

DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP

BECAUSE THE SALESMAN HAD TOLD HER WHAT A GREAT DEAL SHE COULD GET THAT DAY,

AND HOW MUCH WE COULD SAVE AS WELL AS HOW MUCH "LESS". THE PAYMENT WOULD BE. ON

A LEASE.

SHE KNEW I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE WITH AUTO LEASING, AS WE HAD NEVER DONE IT

BEFORE. WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 30 YEARS.

BUT ASKED THAT I COME TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THIS GREAT DEAL WAS. WE

LIVE IN SURPRISE AND SO IT TOOK ME ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO JUST TO GET TO YOUR

DEALERSHIP. I ARRIVED AFTER 4.

UPON MY ARRIVAL, I ASKED THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE IF YOU HAD ANY LATE MODEL

PRE-OWNED ONES AVAILABLE, BECAUSE I DRIVE A LOT AND HAD NEVER EVEN CONSIDERED

A LEASE BEFORE.

AT THAT TIME HE SAID HE ONLY HAD A FEW , THERE WAS A WHITE 2011, THAT I LIKED

BUT THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE 2011,

BECAUSE THE LEASE WAS SUCH A GOOD DEAL, AND THAT THE BODY STYLE WAS BEING

CHANGED FOR 2013.

WHICH OF COURSE TURNED OUT NOT TO BE TRUE !! I ALSO SHARED WITH HIM THAT I

TYPICALLY DRIVE AT LEAST 17-20K MILES PER YEAR, SO I DID NOT THINK LEASING WAS

FOR US !!

BY THE WAY I HAVE OVER 18,000 MILES ON IT. AS EXPECTED, A YEAR LATER.

ALTHOUGH I BLAME MYSELF TO A DEGREE FOR TRUSTING THE INFORMATION THAT WAS

GIVEN TO ME. I AGREED TO DO A 5 YEAR LEASE. IT WAS GETTING CLOSE TO DARK BY

THEN.

I DONT RECALL EXACTLY HOW MANY TIMES WE WERE TOLD WHAT A GREAT DEAL WE WERE

GETTING. BUT IT WAS SEVERAL TIMES !!

WHEN WE WENT INTO THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT AND I SAW THE 12,000 MILES PER YEAR.

I TOLD THE ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR, THAT I DRIVE CONSIDERABLY MORE THAN THAT,

HE SAID NOT TO WORRY THAT ONE OF THE LEASE REPRESENTATIVES WOULD BE CONTACTING ME

IN ABOUT 3 YEARS TO REPLACE IT, AND AT THAT TIME WE COULD GET AN EVEN

LOWER PAYMENT. FOR A NEW ONE. SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT

DRIVING HIGHER MILEAGE. HE SAID "WE DO THIS ALL THE TIME"

I THEN NOTICED ON THE PAPERWORK THAT HE HAD ADDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY 5 YEAR

100K MILES.

I DID NOT EVEN NOTICE THE PRICE. HE TOLD ME THAT ALL TOYOTA LEASES INCLUDE AN

EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THAT IT WAS FOR TOYOTA'S PROTECTION SINCE I DID NOT OWN

THE CAR.

IN RETROSPECT KINDA ODD. WHY WOULD HE BASE THE WARRANTY ON THE TERM WE HAD

AGREED TO AND MILEAGE AT 100K. THEN CHANGE IT TO A 6 YEAR LEASE ??

I ALSO APPARENTLY SIGNED FOR GAP INSURANCE, UNDER THE SAME INFORMATION.

TOYOTA REQUIRES IT ON ALL LEASES.

ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, I WAS GOING THROUGH SOME PAPERWORK, AND STUMBLED

UPON MY TOYOTA LEASE. I MEAN . ([redacted] LEASE!)

WHEN I SAW AN OVER $2000 CHARGE FOR THE WARRANTY I STARTED TO QUESTION HOW

TOYOTA COULD MAKE IT MANDATORY.

THEN I SAW THAT THERE WERE NUMBERS ON THE CONTRACT . THAT WERE SEVERAL

THOUSAND DOLLARS HIGHER THAN THE STICKER PRICE OF THE CAR. I WASN'T SURE WHAT

IT MEANT ??

SO I CALLED A FRIEND WHO USED TO BE IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY.

HE CAME OVER AND LOOKED AT MY PAPERWORK, AND HE WAS VISIBLY UPSET.

HE TOLD ME THAT BASED ON WHAT YOUR DEALERSHIP HAD DONE TO ME, I COULD NOT RISK CANCELLING

THE GAP INSURANCE, UNTIL THIS WAS RESOLVED.

HE ALSO SHARED THAT I COULD HAVE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON A 5 YEAR TERM FOR A

LOWER PAYMENT.

HE THEN EXPLAINED TO ME THAT I HAD IN FACT SIGNED A LEASE FOR 6 YEARS.

THAT THE FINANCE MANAGER HAD LIED TO ME. HE SAID THAT TOYOTA CAN'T NOR WOULD

REQUIRE ME TO PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY.

THE LEASE IS THROUGH [redacted]. NOT TOYOTA. TO HIS KNOWLEDGE NO NEW CAR

LENDER CAN OR WOULD REQUIRE THE CONSUMER TO PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ?

HE MAY BE WRONG ?? BUT HE DID SPEND ABOUT 25 YEARS IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY.

ABOUT 22 YEARS IN MANAGEMENT.

HE TOLD ME THAT TOYOTA DOES NOT AND WOULD NOT OFFER A 6 YEAR LEASE. SO JUST

ANOTHER LIE. ALTHOUGH NOT A CHEAP ONE FOR MY WIFE AND I.

WE WERE TIRED AND IT WAS GETTING DARK BY NOW. WE KNOW WE SIGNED IT. EVEN

THOUGH WE DID NOT READ IT. WE TRUSTED WHAT WE WERE TOLD.

BUT THEN IT GOT EVEN WORSE HE POINTED OUT THAT THE STICKER PRICE WHICH WE HAVE

THE ORIGINAL LABEL. WAS FOR $31805.

THE INITIAL SELLING PRICE WAS $35879. AFTER OUR EQUITY OF $7000 DOLLARS IN OUR DODGE

DAKOTA, AND USING $5400 TO PAY OFF OUR CAMRY WE WERE STILL PUTTING $1600 CASH DOWN

AS WELL AS THE $1500 REBATE FROM TOYOTA.

WE WERE IN FACT PUTTING OVER $1500 DOWN ABOVE THE INITIAL INCEPTION FEES. .

EVEN AFTER THE LIES ABOUT THE WARRANTY AND GAP INSURANCE.

HOW DID WE END UP FINANCING $37,373.66. UNLESS WE WERE CHEATED ???

WE ALWAYS BUY IN RELATION TO INVOICE, WE HAVE NEVER EVER AGREED TO PAY THE

STICKER PRICE FOR ANY VEHICLE. LET ALONE SEVERAL THOUSAND MORE THAN THE

STICKER PRICE !! CHANCES ARE THEY WOULD NOT HAVE HAD A $1500 REBATE IF THEY

WERE IN SUCH HIGH DEMAND.

MY FRIEND RECOMMENDED THAT I CONTACT TOYOTA TO REGISTER A COMPLAINT. THAT

PERHAPS THEY COULD HELP. ??

AFTER I CALMED DOWN !!!! WHICH WAS NOT SOON !!!

A FEW DAYS LATER I CALLED TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST YOUR DEALERSHIP. I

CALLED THE TOYOTA MOTOR COMPANY CONSUMER AFFAIRS DIVISION ??

COMPLAINT NUMBER

#:1305131000

I TRIED TO EXPLAIN, MANY OF THE DIFFERENT WAYS I HAD BEEN BOTH OVERCHARGED AND

LIED TO. I MAY HAVE LEFT A FEW THINGS OUT ?

I WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP WOULD GET BACK TO ME WITHIN 3

BUSINESS DAYS !!

SO I HAD PLANNED TO DISCUSS THEM WITH THE DEALER / TOYOTA.

I WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTED THAT AFTER WAITING BY THE PHONE PRETTY MUCH ALL DAY

AND NIGHT, AS WELL AS CHECKING MY EMAIL FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. NO CALL OR EMAIL

CAME!!

BY NOW I AM GETTING REALLY UPSET. SO I CALLED TOYOTA CONSUMER AFFAIRS BACK ON

FRIDAY THE 17TH. 4 DAYS LATER.

I WAS TOLD THAT A MAN NAMED [redacted] HAD CALLED ME, THE VERY SAME DAY, I

HAD FILED THE COMPLAINT. THAT HE HAD EXPLAINED WHY THE SELLING PRICE WAS

SEVERAL THOUSAND OVER STICKER AND THAT I COULD CANCEL THE EXTENDED WARRANTY

AND NUMEROUS OTHER THINGS. SO TOYOTA HAD CLOSED THE COMPLAINT.

I WAS NOW GETTING REALLY, REALLY ANGRY, I ASKED HER TO PLEASE REPEAT WHAT SHE

HAD JUST STATED

THEN SHE WENT ONTO RE-READ THE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HE CLAIMED TO HAVE

DISCUSSED WITH ME.

I WAS INCREDULOUS, HOW DARE HE LIE , AND CLAIM HE CONTACTED ME.

I THEN ASKED HER FOR A COPY OF THIS SUPPOSED CONVERSATION THAT NEVER

HAPPENED.

SHE THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT SHE COULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A COPY OF THE

NUMEROUS LIES HE HAD TOLD TOYOTA !! BUT SHE DID READ THEM OUT LOUD NOT ONCE

BUT TWICE !!

I HAVE AN EMAIL FROM THE SALES MANAGER [redacted] FROM LAST YEAR.

JUST 6 DAYS AGO I RECEIVED AN EMAIL WISHING ME A HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FROM AN

EMPLOYEE NAMED [redacted]. A SALES CONSULTANT.

HE IS VERY MODEST !! PERHAPS WE ALL SHOULD BE. BUT USUALLY THE GENERAL SALES

MANAGER IS NOT A SALES CONSULTANT ANYMORE THAN A SALES MANAGER IS AN HR

PERSON. ANYMORE THAN HE EVER MADE AN ATTEMPT TO CONTACT ME.

I CAN EASILY PROVE HE DID NOT CALL OR EMAIL ME !! HE CAN'T POSSIBLY PROVE

HE MADE ANY EFFORT TO REACH ME. !!

I AM NO LONGER PATIENT, NOR WILL I BE PLAYED FOR A FOOL A THIRD TIME !!

I TRULY HOPE SOMEONE ACTUALLY CARES, AND MAKES THIS "RIGHT" !!

OR I WILL SEEK FURTHER ASSISTANCE IN MY QUEST TO RESOLVE THIS INJUSTICE.

YOU ARE TALKED ABOUT ON THE CAR PRO SHOW AS A DEALER OF INTEGRITY. PART OF THE

REASON, I AGREED TO EVEN COME.

RIGHT TOYOTA IS YOUR NAME "RIGHT" ???

YOUR TIMELY RESPONSE IS APPRECIATED !!

REGARDS,

[redacted] & [redacted]Desired Settlement: WE WERE CHEATED, AND WE WANT IT TO BE FIXED, AND FAST

Right Toyota contacted Mr. [redacted] via telephone and email to address the issues in his complaint to your office. As a prudent measure of good customer service and good will, Right Toyota has satisfactorily concluded the issue with Mr. [redacted]. Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention.

[redacted] spent many hours with us discussing lease and purchase options and was a pleasure to work with.

Review: On Monday, January 5, 2015. I attempted to purchase a used vehicle at Right Toyota. I intended to pay cash for the vehicle. I did not need a loan and at no time did I ever imply that I wanted to apply for credit. I negotiated the purchase and signed several documents. Toward the end of the process the sales person asked me for my SSN because he said that Right Toyota needed to positively identify me. I did not take delivery of the vehicle because it was not ready for delivery. The next day I discovered that Right Toyota had placed a hard inquiry on my credit report. This resulted in a reduction of my credit score. Right Toyota had no reason to check my credit because I was paying cash. I went to the dealership on Tuesday morning to complain; but as far as I know Right Toyota has done nothing to remove the inquiry from my credit report. Personnel asked me to leave the premises.Desired Settlement: I want Right Toyota to remove the inquiry from my credit report.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

RE: Complaint ID# [redacted]RE: Complaint ID# [redacted] I have reviewed the replyfrom Right Toyota regarding my complaint. Apparently, Mr. Ivanhoe preparedthe reply. And since he was not presentduring my negotiations on Monday the 5th or Tuesday the 6th hiscomments rely upon hearsay. Mr. Ivanhoeaccuses me of omitting information regarding the episode that occurred onTuesday, January 6. He is correct inthat regard. I decided to omit theunpleasantries and acrimony of the episode because those details have nothingto do with my complaint. But, since Mr.Ivanhoe has chosen to digress from the issue with the lies that he has written,I have to respond and set the record straight because Mr. Ivanhoe’s replycontains serious and material inaccuracies, none of which have anything to dowith my complaint. This is consistentwith the attitude of the Right Toyota employees, who chose to ignore mycomplaint and defend the actions of the dealership regardless of the facts ofmy complaint. Mr. Ivanhoe continues inthe same vein. Before I provide my rebuttal, let me say that Fabio Baratti told me that the entire incident on Tuesday,January 6 was recorded by video cameras in the dealership. I challenge Right Toyota to produce therecording because it will corroborate what I am about to tell you. But I predict, that if such a recordingexists, Mr. Ivanhoe will not make it available to the Revdex.com and myself, becauseit will prove my version of events and would demonstrate conclusively that Mr.Baratti physically assaulted me during the incident. I made arrangements onMonday, January 5 to buy a used vehicle from Right Toyota. I did not take delivery that day because itwas not ready for delivery. I signednumerous documents and said that I would return with a cashier check when thevehicle was ready for delivery. Then Iwent home to wait for a phone call. Bythe way, had I bought this vehicle, it would have been the third car that Ibought from Right Toyota in about five years. Numerous companies monitor mycredit file. When I awoke on Tuesday,January 6 I discovered that Right Toyota had violated my privacy by checking mycredit. There wasn’t any need to do that. I was paying for the vehicle without aloan. At no time did I suggest that Ineeded a loan and I was never informed that Right Toyota was going to check mycredit. That was a violation of myprivacy and was completely unnecessary. The actions of the dealership resultedin a hard inquiry appearing on my credit report that reduced my credit score. That is my complaint. On Tuesday morning, January6, I went to the dealership to complain. I asked for the general manager. I didn’t “demand” to speak to anyone. I simply asked to speak to the generalmanager. Instead of gaining access tothe GM, I was approached by Mr. Baratti. Mr. Ivanhoe’s reply suggeststhat I was loud from the beginning of the event and that Mr Baratti tried tousher me into an office; but that is not true. I was pleasant and attempted to develop a rapport with Mr. Baratti. A couple of years earlier Mr Baratti and aperson named Aziz sold me a car at Right Toyota. I mentioned that to him and made other smalltalk, and then I explained my complaint. But Mr. Baratti didn’t care about mycomplaint. He explained that checkingcredit was the policy of the dealership, and that it was inconsequential, andthat it was my fault because I must have signed an application for credit. At some point we were joined by Mr. Stemplewho told me that a hard inquiry on my credit report did not affect my creditscore. But that is not true. It didaffect my credit score. They told me that I must havesigned a credit application. I told themthat I had signed numerous documents the day before and that I didn’t know whatany of them were. I said that I was notapplying for credit and that if I signed a credit application that I was notinformed of that. Mr. Baratti said that hewould go look for the credit application that I must have signed. He returned with a document that was blankexcept for my name, Social Security Number, and my signature. I remembered that the salesperson, Spencer, had requested my SSN. He said that thedealership needed to verify that I was who I said I was. That is how my SSN appeared on the document. But I was never told that the dealership wasgoing to check my credit. It was notnecessary to check my credit. It was aviolation of my privacy. I did notprovide informed consent for a credit check. I was not applying for credit. This is the nature of my complaint. I asked Mr. Baratti to giveme the document and he handed it to me. I did not “forcefully” snatch it from his hand. He willingly gave it to me. I looked at it for a moment, and realizingthat my privacy had been violated, and that my personal information had beenmisused, I tore it to pieces. At thatmoment, Mr. Baratti attacked me physically in an attempt to retrieve the piecesof the document. Rather than defendingmyself by fighting him, I told him to take his hands off of me which hedid. It was then that he told me thatthe incident was being recorded by video camera and he pointed to an area onthe ceiling. He told me that I hadcommitted a crime by stealing dealership property. I told him that if I had committed a crimethat he should call the police and I would wait for them. Of course he didn’t call the police. I wish he would have. I would have had him arrested for assault. Once again, I challenge Right Toyota toproduce the video. At this point the incidentdevolved into a yelling match. And I wasasked to leave, which I did without incident. I left quietly, and I certainly did not threaten to return with afirearm. I challenge Right Toyota to produce the video recording. Of course they won’t. They will say that it never existed, or thatit was erased, or that they can’t find it, or some other excuse of that nature. Mr. Ivanhoe wrote thefollowing in his reply: “A credit application is required on all transactionsin order to prevent fraud, as payment in full is made by check and almost neverwith actual cash.” This isnonsense. I provided legalidentification. I was trading in a carthat was paid for and registered in my name. I would have paid for the vehicle with any financial instrument thatthey would have requested including cash. How could there have been any fraud? How would checking my credit provethat a check would have been good? Andif the dealership had to check my credit why didn’t they tell me what they weregoing to do? After I left Right Toyota Iwent to Camelback Toyota and bought a vehicle. They didn’t check my credit. Theywere perfectly satisfied with my trade-in, my identification and a cashier’scheck. I want Right Toyota to undothe inquiry on my credit report. I didnot apply for credit. They did not havepermission to check my credit and by doing so they have adversely affected mycredit score. Thank you. I have reviewed the replyfrom Right Toyota regarding my complaint. Thank you.

Richard Bowes

Review: I am writing a complaint against Right Toyota in Scottsdale, the sales associate who conducted the purchase of my Toyota Rav4 completely ripped me off and used high pressure sales and unethical behavior to trick me into signing a lease which would lose me thousands of dollars. I purchased a 2011 Toyota Rav4 which at the time these vehicles were MSRP at 28K however in my lease he put the value of the vehicle is 33,262. When I was purchasing the vehicle I told he I wanted to do whatever would have me paying the least amount of money for the vehicle in total. HE told me it was in my best interest to lease the vehicle instead of purchase it because I would save money on interest and fees. He said if I lease the vehicle I could flip it to a purchase at 2 1/2 years and at that time my payoff would be at around 15K. He said this is the best way to do it to save me the most money. looking through the lease after my purchase with a friend in the car business he informed me I was completely ripped off, he put the value of the vehicle at 33,262 which is inflated and my payoff at the end of the lease at 13,000. Which in total has me paying about 43,500 for my vehicle in the end. He told me do not pay attention to any of the values on the lease because that is just the way he has to write it up, but trust him it is a good deal. So not here I am having made 39 payments at 449 and my pay off is 21,000 not even close to what he told me it would be at the 30 months mark. Even if the so called value at purchase is what he said which completely inflated I would still have paid less purchasing the vehicle at 1.99% interest. I would have paid 33,262 - 2000 Trade in - 1450 down payment = 29812 *1.08 for tax =32196 for my total loan. subtract the 17,511 in payments I have made brings us to my payoff which should be around 14,685. Therefore the purchasing of the vehicle would have been a lot less expensive as currently I should owe about 15,000. NOT 21,106 (not including taxes). Toyota owes me the difference in payments I have paid due to my leasing instead of purchasing which is about 6,000 dollars to compensate for their salesman [redacted] flat out lying to me about how a lease works and the benefits in doing one over purchasing. I was taken advantage of and it is unethical for a business such as Toyota to allow this at their establishment and not be willing to make things right. Please can somebody help me to obtain justice.Desired Settlement: $6,000

Great experience. Very smooth process to get the truck I wanted.

[redacted] was great. I will definitely do business with [redacted] again in the future.

I came into Right Toyota to look at [redacted] and ended up buying one. Even though it was late and close to closing time, this was a wonderful experience.

Great service. "Above and Beyond" Always answered my concerns.

Great!! After having a bad experience a few years ago, we have now bought two vehicles from [redacted] and he is outstanding!!

wonderful - it was the quickest car I have ever purchased. I am very impressed.. thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

Review: We went into the dealership to purchase a Toyota Highlander. Even though we said we were interested in purchasing the vehicle the salesperson [redacted] tried to make us feel like is for trying to purchase rather than lease. He told us he could get us a "much better deal" on a lease than the $34,500 + trade he had offered for the purchase. This was just the first of many lies. He told us we were going to get $3500 on our trade in (paperwork shows we only got $1500). All in all, this vehicle will cost over $10,000 more if we were to purchase this vehicle. I don't know how this is a "better deal". He lied about many other things including the fact that there is a mileage penalty when he said there is not. This dealership engages in unsavory negotiating techniques and is extremely dishonest with their prospective customers. We went back in an attempt to get the lease agreement voided and have it turned back into a purchase agreement but the finance person [redacted] told us we were too late as the paperwork had already been filed.Desired Settlement: This dealership should apologize for their lies - they should also refund us the $2000 which is the difference between the what was promised and what we received.....or simply convert the lease into a purchase as we have already requested in person for the original amount offered.
