Customer service is absolutely horrendous.. the worst I've ever seen. I ordered a 10 piece security system and received a ring doorbell. It took me almost a month and 5 emails and I never got a response from their team when I let them know that they shipped me the wrong product. After an hour on the phone with them, they finally told me they could ship me what I ordered (thanks?). After telling me they could expedite the shipping, they then told me they could no longer do that. An hour after trying to get this resolved, they tell me I need to go to the post office and ship back the incorrect order they sent me!!! Unreal. I told her they can come pick it up and she threatened that if I didn't go ship it back to them, they would charge me for the item they mistakenly sent me.

Hi Ryan,

I understand how this can be extremely frustrating. I will send this to our customer support team so they can come to your preferred resolution.

Best,
Myra from Ring

I bough a ring doorbell pro for my home because I was going on a trip for 3 weeks and wanted to have a little protection to my home and the product couldn't connect to my wi-fi. I called for assistance and they concluded that the ring was defective. They offered to send me a replacement and I accepted. I thought ring was going to go above expectations to resolve my issue knowing that I needed the replacement quick and I spent $200+ on a product but no. They decided to send the replacement on the slowest shipping option they could find and thats on a U.S order 12 DAYS!!. It shouldn't take more than 3 days and it should've been overnighted to me. And I go check on the shipping status and it says its delayed so at this point it going to take even more than 12 days. Now im leaving got my trip and never got my product. Its the worst customer service i've ever had.

I have had the worst experience with this company. From the battery dying after being fully charged just a couple of hours after I left my apartment, To never being able to see the live you, to every instruction I was given being incorrect, and even worse the camera only recorded when I was home and at bedtime and had an x-ray vision picture which saw straight through clothing - I read about the lawsuit against the company for security breaches and employees Of ring or whoever monitors or keeps up their cloud service, illegally accessing videos of people who have these cameras in their home . I would say this is the lowest quality home security camera I've ever seen in my life, to pay $150 for something that should've probably cost about $20, I was disgusted. Lastly when I called to cancel the cloud recording service I was informed I would have the remaining trial. Left however it was immediately cut off and then employee I spoke with over the phone when I canceled that was extremely rude and unprofessional and creepy. I hope everyone in the world who has a ring camera is Able to see this review because this is absolutely heinous.

Ring door bell's ads do not mention any monthly fee after the product was installed for one month. It wasn't until after it was installed they informed me that I would have to pay a $3 monthly fee in order for me to see any activity video around the door bell during the day or night unless I'm sitting at my computer when the activity takes place. The fee was to save the videos long enough for me to review and delete. This is false advertising. If I had known that I was going to be charged a monthly fee on top of the $250 purchase price, I never would have bought it. They should be forced to advertise the monthly fee in their ads.

Being that this is an Amazon company I expected so much more in the way of customer service. My Ring door bell was 2 weeks outside of the warranty period when it stopped working. After troubleshooting it for an hour, the customer service rep said they could offer me a $50 voucher but it had to be ordered directly through Ring.com. When I tried to order it, the discount code would not work because the timing of my order coincided with a promotion that was running. I was told I had to wait until the promo was over in order to use my discount code. As a result, I was without a functional ring doorbell for approximately 10 days. Once the new one was received and charged, I was unable to connect the device. I called support and after another 45 minutes trouble shooting, we were able to get the doorbell portion of the device to function but not the motion (No matter how much I danced in front of it). When they indicated they would have to replace the defective device I requested it to be expedited since they sent me a bad device I also inquired as to if it was actually new or refurbished. I was assured it was new. I requested the shipping to be expedited since clearly I received a bad device and did not want to be without a Ring doorbell for another week. While I was on hold awaiting authorization for expedited shipping, I was packaging the device back in the box and, low and behold, the ring finally recognized some motion. When the representative came back on the line she indicated that the team was able to see that a motion alert was registered and therefore they would not authorize expedited shipping. Isn't that some bull$#!+? I am still not convinced it was not refurbished since they were quick in issuing me a discount code in the first place. Clearly I received a bad device and I feel that Ring and Amazon should stand behind their product and in situations like this, automatically expedite shipping, after all Amazon Prime can deliver most items the very next day. I have a Prime account and would have ordered the Ring through Amazon but I could not use the discount code unless it was ordered on Ring.com. Totally unacceptable customer service.

I will never purchase Ring products again, and I also suggest you really think about it before you do. I had purchased a ring floodlight approximately a year ago and it had worked really well up until recently when it started giving me issues. The sensory of the light quite working properly. No matter how my settings were the lights would go on and off constantly, which of corse costing me even more using power, extremely aggravating try to get the light working properly.
I contacted Ring and we did the troubleshooting and the end results were they would be back in touch with me in a few days. That they were trying to resolve the issue. So approximately a month later I called them on 8-6-19 to find out what was being done about this issue and was told they were still trying to resolve the issue. After being on the phone with them for 30-45 mins. I was told they would not replace my unit and that was the way they were going to handle the issue, and that they were still trying to figure out the issue. So now I have a Ring floodlight that is completely worthless and the cloud they use for storing the video cost also billed about a month ago to my account is a total loss.
I do not except excuses when I purchase a product with my hard earned money.
THANKS RING for your wonderful products.

This company will not refund the entire amount of your annual subscription if you call to cancel as soon as you are charged!

We haven't had use of the Ring Pro doorbell we purchased in at least six months because it didn't work well with our home set up (after several calls to customer support and replacing our doorbell equipment we couldn't get it to work even though it worked intermittently at first!)

When I called to cancel the subscription I had forgotten we had, the rep issued $27 instead of the $30 we were charged. She told me I would have to hold for another department if I wanted to receive the remaining $3. I was on hold for more than 8 minutes and was asked if I wanted to continue to hold twice before I decided to hang up.

If Ring charges everyone who wishes to cancel $3 each, not a bad way for them to make extra money! What a scam!

I had my worst experience couple days ago when someone broke in to my car and stole stuff and after calling RING I was told they can not pull any videos because my battery was low. Last time someone did this RING said nothing was captured and to my surprise I got a video from someone and rep from RING said even if you're battery is low we can pull all the footage. I requested this to be escalated to a manager and here I am two days later no one bothered to call me. Every time it happened or something bad happens, RING system update was going on. I am pretty sure 18 cars in my neighborhood was broken into and if no one's RING worked than someone from RING is doing it. I am filing a LAW SUIT and have already reported to DCA and filed a police report.

I ordered the 14P set. I set this system up with lots of frustration and many phone calls to Ring. I would not recommend this product for the simple fact of the customer service if nothing else. After setting the system up, I realized that for it to be really helpful, I needed cameras. I went to ring.com and placed my order for one wired stick up camera and 2 solar outdoors stick up cameras and a chime Wifi extender. The website stated that I would have free 2 day shipping from fedex. Due to the connection between Amazon and ring, I mistakenly figured that I would really have my cameras within 2 days. I was dead wrong. I ordered on a Saturday and come Monday, when I still had not even received an email about shipping, I called to check. At this time, I was told that because the order was placed on the weekend, that it would not even be processed until Monday. 1 and a 1/2 hours later, on the phone with the supervisor, and I was assured that I would receive my order on Wednesday. It was really quite imperative that I received them right away and I made this very well known to the supervisor. Today is Wednesday. Not only do I not have my order but I have spent much time on the phone with support from Ring, all to no avail. I've only gotten more frustration. I was told that, evidently, some of the items that I ordered (solar panels) were out of stock. This was not foretold on the website, when I placed my order. When I asked the supervisor why it was not on the website when I placed my order, I was told that they cannot foretell when they are going to run out of stock!! This statement alone was very disheartening. At this point, I was told that part of my order would be overnight shipped, as soon as possible (but I was already told this by the last supervisor earlier in the week when I had called). He said that the solar panels and their cameras would also be overnight shipped but would be handled by a different department. I'm assuming, (since they're out of stock) he means whenever they received them again. I still have no idea when or if I will receive my items. I was also told, that I could not cancel my order and just order from Amazon (which is what I would have done in the 1st place had I known they were out of stock). As far as the actual ring alarm 14 piece kit system, it leaves a lot to be desired. There is no glass break option. You can set Alexa up (with the echo dot) to listen for glass break, when the alarm system is set to away. She will then notify you. It
This does not set the alarm off, however. And there is no such option, for when you are at home (think sleeping), and the alarm is armed. Also, the siren is very quiet. There is no option for an outdoor siren (with anything that they have or 3rd party). The website also says "the motion detectors are pet friendly and will still work if you have pets in the home". Online, it States, "as long as they are under 50 pounds". When I spoke with the representative on the phone, however, she informed me that I was very misinformed. The pets need to be under 30 pounds. For only $10 a month I was extremely excited about this system. There are many things about this system that seem to be really good. There are, however, many things that need to be updated, added, & changed. I was really hopeful that since Amazon has such amazing customer service, that Ring would as well. This is not the case. There also is no option to give a code word to let the security system center know that you are, in fact, truly in danger, when they call. The cameras do have alarms or sirens on them but they do not go off when the alarm system is triggered. You have to trigger them yourself. I think this is ridiculous. You should at least have the option for the
sirens to sound, when the alarm system is triggered. I am sadly disappointed with Ring thus far. I also tried to leave my review on Amazon, since that is where I purchased the 14 piece (Ring Alarm) System. Amazon, however, denied allowing my review. This really makes me worry about Amazon, as well!

First, worked slowly and would miss my car slowly driving past in the driveway. Happens a lot for most things. Secondly, after your "free" trial you have to pay monthly for the video instead of it just loading to a local storage. That's ***. I paid for your item and now I should be able to use it without your interference and monitoring.

Garbage, going to try and return the unopened camera lights we got as well. Crappy business model.

I'm still trying to determine whether or not Ring security is right for me. I love the low monitoring fees and easy DIY installation however being that this is now an Amazon company I expected so much more. There are a lot of features the system lacks such as integrated thermostat, creating programs for your system, glass breakage sensors, and so on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that improvements come quickly but if not I'll have to return my system.

System needs an overhaul!

One star is the best I can do for this system (and I'm being generous). Everything triggers Ring & the video isn't much better. I contacted my current security company (which I'll be leaving due to THIS calamady) to complain. I was sold Ring as part of my plan but everyone with whom I spoke said Ring is one of the worst doorbell systems & now I believe it. A flying bag, piece of paper, steam rising from my laundry room vent, snow, rain and wind all trigger it. I called another security company and told them about Ring. They assured me it was not a good system and they don't recommend it to consumers due to the very experiences I have had. I even had several videos record & stop while people were at my door! Ring was supposed to be part of a grander security system I'm installing, including top-of-the-line infrared security cameras, so I expected it to work well. Fortunately I had the presence of mind to STOP with the Ring doorbell, not moving forward with the rest of the install since I'll be leaving the current security vendor. I can't stay with a company that recommends Ring or other substandard products. Since Ring doesn't work (and NO...it has nothing to do with my wifi - my neighbors have other doorbell systems that work just fine), I'll be moving to another more superior company & product. Don't let high-pressure sales tactics push you to purchase Ring. The reviews across the web aren't good. They're good on this site because the company's Revdex.com accredited.

I bought a Ring video door bell. I then asked Ring executives if they'd price match Simplisafe's price for the system, since Ring was more than a third more expensive. Jamie *** sent a condescending response back. The others completely ignored me. I'm fine if their answer is no, but after this type of response, I returned the video doorbell and washed my hands of the entire company. If they don't want my business, that's a good reason not to give it to them.

A complete scam. Do yourself a favor and save your money. This company is in the business of scamming people to gain customers. First, their return policy is a complete joke. According to their customer service, when you place the order, you have 30 mins to cancel the order. This is a complete lie. I placed an order for the ring doorbell, thinking the credits I had on my account would apply toward my purchase, and when I realized it didn't, I went back to cancel the order, all within less than a few minutes. It does not give you the option to cancel at all. There is no way to return the order, other than to not accept the package upon delivery. Second, their neighborhood referral program is fraud. There is so much wrong with this program, I don't even know where to start! I've had multiple people sign up using my link, follow every single step to the tee, even right in front of me, and I still did not get the credit. And to top it all, having now been told by their customer service people that the credit I still have sitting in my account cannot be used because I have 'violated' their terms of use, which is complete and utter lie because multiple of those credits I had to email them to have added to my account so it was obviously verified before being added. Shame on this company for using fraudulent methods to gain customers and I believe this is enough for a consumer lawsuit to be opened against this company. They are cheating people out of legitimate credits, all the while gaining new customer on their neighborhood app.

Referral program was a scam took me 2 weeks to get all the referrals then when I tried to use my referral codes my order was cancelled and it said my referrals were non existant. Took so many hours helping and convincing people to try the app for it to turn our being a scam

the ring doorbell never worked very good and now doesn't work at all. can someone help? nice concept but so far it is a bad product.

Ring Doorbell & Ring Doorbell 2 are not dependable...sometimes they work & sometimes they do not work, however the homeowner is not notified when Ring Doorbells stop working & this puts their safety at risk. Ring is selling "security" products, which are not dependable & Ring does not care that the products are not dependable because they already have your money. Customer Service is horrible. Ring is preying on the disabled, elderly, & most vulnerable individuals by selling products described by Ring Doorbell as "Security begins at your door." I plan to file complaints with Federal Trade Commission, My State Attorney General, etc. due to false advertising by Ring & poor quality devices.

I have 3 Ring Products and was a prior proponent of them. However, once one of the doorbells showed signs of malfunction, this was where customer service went south. I recently purchased a Doorbell Pro on sale from Costco to replace my existing Doorbell 2. Unfortunately, it's been having issues with initiating Live View streaming from the app. After 2 chat support sessions - Ring failed to resolve the issue, with various steps including pushing firmware, trying a hotspot, using a Chime Pro, hard resetting the device, and having various things "reset" on Ring's end. After remounting my Doorbell 2, which worked 100% fine, and going out to purchase another Doorbell Pro - which also works 100% fine, I consulted Ring Chat again, however this third agent refuses to process a warranty replacement for the device. Despite over an hour trouble shooting with Ring Support, she insists on going through all the steps once again - blaming every piece of equipment except the faulty Ring Pro doorbell, keeping in mind that the replacement Doorbell Pro I purchased, and the Doorbell 2 I have from before work 100% fine. After almost an hour speaking to her insisting on a replacement, which she says will not resolve my issue - despite me going out to purchase a replacement on my own which solved the issue, she disconnected from the chat herself without me having ended it. Very unprofessional, and a harbinger of things to come when our devices eventually fail. I implore you to reconsider this company.

The worst return policy. I made a purchase on Black Friday. In roughly an hour I decided that I didn't want the purchase. I called and inquired about cancellation and refund of the order. I was told it was to late. I had to either refuse shipment or ask the carrier not to delivery it and have them reroute to ring. So I contacted FEDEX and had the order routed back to ring; it never came to my doorstep. A few days later, I get an email from FEDEX that the shipment was returned and SIGNATURE CONFIRMED. I thought perfect I should get my money soon. A week and half goes by and nothing. I called Ring, ask for my money back and was told they confirm the FEDEX signature for the package, but there internal system doesn't have it received yet. I was then told it can be about another two weeks before it would reflect on there system. Totally unfair and right before Christmas. This makes no sense, I never accepted delivery and I have to wait a month to get my money back! I agree with the customer before me. That's theft!!!

I have had a terrible experience with Ring, was told which unit I should purchase and given all the product knowledge to reassure I would be given the best service, everything I was told was incorrect , they even spelled my name incorrect and said that it was now in the system and too late to change.

Was advised that the unit I was told to get was wrong and I should return it and purchase a different one.

New one arrived, original one returned a week ago but no refund. in a two day period I was told rep was not in, no one available, cannot identify the package even though the return was confirmed yesterday and told it would take two weeks to have the refund issued. Then I was told that no one can verify the return. By the time they identify the package the lapse time will be 3-4 weeks and that is NOT acceptable as far as I am concerned that is outright theft.

Terrible customer service
