Review: I bought a car in "as is" condition. They advised me that the tires have to be 40% tread and it was not causing performance issues and breakdown of my car.Desired Settlement: $1200.00

Complaint ID#: [redacted]Company Name: Riverside Motorcars, LLCCompany Contact Name: [redacted]Company Contact Phone: [redacted]Company Contact Email: [redacted].comConsumer's Name: [redacted]Revdex.com Staff Member (if you know): [redacted]Complaint Information: The vehicle had a complete safety check, and in that check, it was determined to have perfectly safe, legal tread on all four (4) tires. It appears the customer got a flat tire and continued to drive (saw picture). Customers have to take responsibility for their actions in such cases. We are happy to help, but will not honor unapproved, outside repair receipts, or damage as a result of neglect or misuse.Sent on: 8/28/2015 10:20:06 AM

Response:

When I drove off the lot, in 10 minutes my tire blew. I had the car towed to a repair facility near my hometown and they also advise me that my car had bad tires under spec. Its being worked on at the moment. The tires were dangerous to drive on due to dry rot at highway speeds. They keep saying they re happy to help but they have done nothing or they are not responding to my concerns to help.

I am rejecting this response because:

Sincerely,

Review: Put down $2000 as a deposit on a vehicle. Once realized that insurance would be too high, we decided not to take the car and asked for our deposit back. It has been over a year and a half. Many many attempts through phone calls and emails, and I am constantly ignored or pushed off to the side. Last November, we made a physical trip (we live in [redacted], so this was several hours by train) to try to get the money back. Joe, the owner, and I agreed to a refund of $1000 with a copy of the deposit check and signed releases saying that I would not trash their name or go after the other 1000.00. The releases were signed and a copy of the check given to him and not even this half deposit has been refunded. It's beyond incredulous.Desired Settlement: $2000.00 dollars refund, our original deposit.

Review: Purchased a vehicle from them on Friday, July 17, 2015, with a promise to include two new tires for the vehicle.

Today is Friday, August 21, 2015, and still no tires for the vehicle.

I was told a different excuse/reason every week. They didn't come in; we ordered one size and they delivered another size; we will send you next week to pick them up yourself at our tire dealer; oh, sorry, he's on vacation!!

STILL NO TIRES AND NO WORD FROM THEM.

They just ignore their customers and hope they will go away, I guess.

I have a written promise for two tires and would like to pick them up ASAP.

Can you help me?Desired Settlement: I want the tires that were promised to me.

I am also willing to replace the tires here in Torrington if they will pay the bill.

Going back and forth to Naugatuck from Torrington is getting real expensive.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution will be satisfactory to me.

This is the second time I have been promised this resolution. I was told I would get a phone call on Monday 8/31/15 to set up the appointment. Hopefully, we can get this resolved at that time.

Review: On June 2, 2015, I leased a used 2008 [redacted] from Riverside motorcars. Two weeks after I was having issues with my car starting, and truck not opening. I first called riverside motorcars and asked if one of there guys could come and see what the problem was with my vehicle. They stated that they were about to close to see if I could get someone to give me a jump, but I called my roadside assistance instead. The next day brought my car to riverside motors and they said that there was nothing wrong with my car, that they tested everything and there was no issues coming up on there screen. Another week or so went by and my car would not start again. I called and took my car back to riverside motor cars and they said that they put a new battery in, that it would fix this problem. That did not fix the problem because I took my car to an auto place and they stated that my starter was going, that was the reason for my car not starting. Two weeks after that my car started to stall, it would not shift gears like a normal running car should. I then called riverside motors again and they stated that, that was something that they could not fix, it had to be handled through my extended warrantee. I emailed riverside motorcars to ask for a copy of my warrantee, and [redacted] sent me a copy, but it did not include the first page of my warrantee which showed that I actually purchased one. I called cornerstone, the people who I purchased the extended warrantee from, and the representative stated that my warrantee was cancelled with no authorization from me, that I would have to call riverside motors to find out why. I have yet to find out why my warrantee was cancelled with my car still not being fixed, please help me!!!Desired Settlement: I am not sure of how this can be resolved, but one thing I do know is that I need a reliable vehicle for work and school, to be able to transport my children to school, and any other errands that I may need to do. I want my car to be fixed the correct way, where I do not have to continuously call or email riverside motorcar with them doing nothing about these on going issues. Overall, I would like them to honor my extended warrantee and fix my car.

Review: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Riverside motors have explained that they were very kind to me and have done everything that I have asked. This is a LIE, I have been hung up on many times by [redacted] one of the men that work at Riverside motors, I have been given the run around by Riverside motors and their warrantee people, no one seems to know what is going on. Cornerstone stated initially that my warrantee was cancelled on Sept 23, 2015, by Riverside motors. Then, I call riverside and they say that everything is taken care of that I would be able to go and get my car fixed. I take my car to [redacted] to get fixed, they call the warrantee people and they state that again my warrantee has been cancelled on Nov. 9, 2015 by Riverside motors. I am very unhappy with the way things are going because I do not have a vehical that I can drive right now, and I am still making my monthly payments. I need something to be done, it would be great if I can speak with someone over the phone, where I do not all have access to a computer. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!Sincerely,Amanda Mccrea

Response:

[redacted] purchased her car on May 30th 2015. The car had been completely safety checked prior to her purchase. She was given a 60 day 3000 mile warranty. On July 24th, she came back to the dealership for some warranty service which we gladly honored. On August 3rd 2015, she called again with some concerns which we corrected. On September 1 2015, she returned and we replaced her battery. There is no evidence of a paid for extended warranty in our records. However, we continue our attempts to be fair. It is now in excess of seven months and according to her she has driven the car 11000 miles and based on this we believe Riverside's obligations have ended.

Review: I made a refundable deposit on a pickup truck. I have the receipt for this.

We made no written or verbal sales agreement.

We could not come to an agreement and the salesman sent a text message that my deposit would be sent out.

I have attached the letter I faxed to them and have not received a response.Desired Settlement: Refund of deposit

Response:

The customer is having a lapse in memory we believe. We did have an agreement on the sale of this vehicle. In fact it was scheduled for delivery on two separate days. Only after 10 days after the last date of delivery, he announced he wanted to re-negotiate the price. We explained we had held the car for a longer than normal period of time, losing other opportunities to sell it. The dealership never keeps deposits on sales of cars if it is not prolonged by a customer as this was.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: Purchased a [redacted] from Riverside Motorcars. Upon purchase car had many more miles on it then was advertised. Secondly, car was delivered with a known loud clicking noise under the middle of the car. Shipped car back under warranty to fix the car. Supposedly fixed the car after several days shipped the car back at my expense and the car now has a major "clunk" noise. Found out that the car was not engaging the 4 wheel drive previously now that they fixed a gear after several days the car clunks. Call the dealership asked why they shipped the car back with the clunk noise and that is feels very dangerous for my daughter whom the car was purchased for to drive. Told me to ship the car back again then would fix it. After supposedly flushing the transmission, having the drive shaft out of the car a bearing replacement the car is shipped back again at my cost NOT fixed still with the clunk. Call them again and ask why they keep sending the car back and its not fixed. They tell me to bring it to my local [redacted] dealership locally. They are told by [redacted] the car has at least 3 major problems. A seized non-serviceable drive shaft. (Supposedly it was previously out of the car on their work bench for a week or more at riverside motors and they didn't recognize it was seized/) secondly rear differential has so much wear that it should be replaced. Thirdly [redacted] felt the car possibly had a bearing issue in the transmission. Upon getting the diagnosis from [redacted] its now several months after the purchase of the car. Like many other complaints listed it is our opinion that riverside tried to hold onto the car to run out our 30 day warranty. Ultimately with the dealership multiple times asking me to pay part of the bills to fix the car. The original problem the car was sold with IS what has caused these issues as the car was only operating in 2 wheel drive. Riverside motors will attempt to say they went above and beyond to try and make me happy and fix the car. Simply put they did not want to spend the money what was necessary to fix the car properly. These people are less then honorable after several attempts to speak to the snake in the grass Joe Salinardi.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for the entire cost of dealing with this car. If I do not get the total refund I will sue this dealership to include time and rental car costs and lawyers fee's.

Response:

The dealership has gone beyond a level of the highest customer service, after two occasions of repairing this beautiful X3. We agree to address another concern. The customer lives in [redacted], and wanted to go to his local [redacted] dealership, rather than drive to Connecticut. We are not obligated to honor outside invoices, in fact, we are not obligated to offer warranties on vehicles of this age. However, we did agree to split the cost from the dealer, but Mr. [redacted] wanted the entire invoice paid for by Riverside. We said no, but offered him to return the vehicle for service to address any concerns. This offer still stands.
