Road Ready Used Cars, Inc. Reviews (29)

Hi,
This issue has been resolved and I just wanted to update you
Thanks for your help
Danielle

I would like to warn and inform every potential car buyer about the auto dealership I have recently experienced " Road ready used cars " located at reservoir ave Bridgeport conn has to be one of the most underhanded devious car dealers on the east coast, possibly the entire country I have personally purchased brand new vehicles and used vehicles from dealerships in my short tenure on this planet Not to mention several dozen of private purchases We arrived five minuets early for the appointment time they prescribed, only to hear what was the first of several extremely unsatisfied potential buyers Their internet descriptions are extremely inaccurate along with the pictures that are totally misconstrued For instance the vehicle we had interest in, it's description said full size spare tire Not only was there no spare tire there wasn't even mounting hardware to accept a tire A very sloppy undercarriage spray paint obscuring obvious mechanically failing parts, but the amount of over spray on shocks Etc resembles something to effect of a young child's first attempt with an aerosol can The picture angles also were taken to hide the numerous tears in the convertible soft top The mechanics had been replacing ball joints and tie rod ends as my personal mechanic questioned the necessary alignment to be performed following the tie rod and ball joint replacement The shop managers go to catch phrase " hey it's a used vehicle what do you expect."
I am not crying about the plus miles we drove one way to get to this fraudulent description let alone the labor rate I paid my mechanic to ride along with me Simply my mechanic and I had a jovial Saturday road trip and it is water under the bridge as far as I'm concernedThe fact of the matter is this in the several hours we spent their each potential customer walked away disgusted and was badgered by the sales staff and manager My mechanic had a comical remark which was this "the paintings and pictures hanging in and around the office consisted of the godfather movie group, the goodfellas movie group followed up with the sopranos, such postings are a direct reflection of their business tactics we personally witnessed while on their propertyIn short, Buyer beware definitely know what is being printed in the description and pictures posted by this dealership is in accurate and they have absolutely no remorse while trying to co horse and brow beat potential customers with hurtful and psychological maneuvers to try to make the saleThe few people that walked away had good sense and apparently other options However I could see buyers who might be in a bad spot or not very knowledgable about mechanics etc are easy prey for that group of vultures

I had been in e-mail and phone communication with Elena regarding a [redacted] which looked great on line. We discussed in detail to condition of the truck because I live 3 hours away. I asked for undercarriage pictures, she said her camera was broken so she could not send additional pictures. (this should have been my first clue that the truck never existed). We set an appointment for me to drive up an see the truck.
Upon arrival, I met Elena and was pushed to a sales person, everyone there heard me say that I was there for the [redacted]. Multiple people sat me down and gave me the speech on the quality of their vehicles, and the awards they have, etc. After about 15 min's, I told them I wanted to see the truck; at that point they told me that the truck had just been sold! - but were pushing me to see other higher priced trucks that they had! Funny, a half hour prior Elena sent me an e-mail confirming that we were meeting about the [redacted].
I did a total of 6 hrs driving that day - they totally tried to pull the bait & switch. They NEVER had the truck that they advertised. FRAUD!!

One correction, the car technically was not over heated but the temp gage would go all the way to the top of gage. car is running too hot to drive,
Thank You [redacted]

[redacted] signed a purchase order and a retail installment contract along with many other documents while purchasing/financing a [redacted] from us. This was a purchase, not a tentative deal. Road Ready Used Cars Inc is aware that were under no obligation to cancel [redacted]...

[redacted]’s purchase. As a courtesy to the customer, we have dissolved the deal and unwound the loan with [redacted] Dealer Services with no consequences to the customer. Road Ready has absorbed the unwind fee of $200.00 per [redacted] dealer agreement.

I would not recommend Road Ready Used Cars to any friend, family, or stranger as my experience with them quickly turned from positive to absolutely nightmarish. I went to look at a car I was interested in, and though the sales team was initially very approachable, I was informed I could not drive it because it was buried in their lot. I decided to put a $1000 deposit down (though they suggested I put more, however I made sure it was refundable (the document I signed reads "Refund of Deposit based on customer approval and test drive" which I had not yet done) I asked again if the deposit would be refundable if I decided against purchase and was assured that it would be. I returned 3 days later to drive the car and ultimately decided not to purchase it, believing that I was protected because of the paperwork I signed. At this point, Ron the owner did a complete 180, refused to refund my deposit, claiming I signed a purchase order and also because no one disrespects him with his business. He was confrontational, demeaning, and ultimately, dishonest. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone and do not look forward to dealing with the headache of trying to get my money back.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: their was no extended warranty offered and nothing was explained to me properly due to the rush transaction of this purchase. The owner has not once made any attempt to contact me even after sending a brief email of my complaintSincerely,[redacted]

All of the amounts on [redacted] purchase order and finance contract were explained to her when she purchased the vehicle. At her request, we cancelled the gap insurance that she purchased and refunded the full amount of $864.00 to[redacted] Dealer Services. The refund check was issued on...

12/10/14 and cleared Road Ready's bank account on 1/7/15. The vehicle that she purchased was sold "As Is" per [redacted] law due to the age of the vehicle; the model year is 2006. As of her date of purchase, only vehicles with a model year of 2008 or newer came with a warranty. The customer chose not to purchase an extended service warranty, which was offered to her. The vehicle went through a thorough safety and maintenance check before the customer took delivery of the vehicle. We have know way of knowing what parts, like an alternator, are going to have a problem on a vehicle 60 to 90 days in the future. Unfortunately, due to our limited size at our current facility, we do not have the capacity to service our customers' vehicles after they take delivery. She is welcomed to give us a call and we can recommend a service facility if she does not already have a repair shop that she uses.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because due to the following remarks:
The account of events and statements from the business are completely false and made in bad
faith according to the conversations exchanged between the customer and the
business/salesperson.
? The car deal didn’t go through not because Mr. [redacted] requested additional equipment for the
car, as the dealership has stated. The car deal didn’t go through because, in fact, the bank did not
approve the loan. The loan was not approved, as stated by Road Ready Used Cars; please see the
attached letter from [redacted] Dealer Services.
? Mr. [redacted] felt skeptical of the business transaction. They still convinced Mr. [redacted] to sign the
contract.
? It should be further noted that Mr. [redacted] does not read English fluently, and he expressed that.
They claimed a translator from their dealership was present; however, Mr. [redacted] was highly
suspicious that he was not being treated fairly and with honesty. Mr. [redacted] did not purchase the
vehicle, as again, he was not approved for the loan. Both his daughter and son, after speaking to
the dealership, felt uncomfortable with the poorly written contract and strongly advised Mr.
[redacted]NOT TO SIGN[redacted] as illustrated by the attached text message image the day of the
incident.
? A call was made by Mr. [redacted]’ daughter in which she clearly expressed to the car sales
representative named Joe, that their contract was poorly written and she advised her father not to
sign it. Mr. [redacted]’ son spoke to the sales representative regarding the $500 dollar deposit and
asked if 100% this money would be returned should anything occur. The sales representative was
incredibly defensive which made the deal even more suspicious.
? The stress caused to Mr. [redacted] by this incident is significant.
? In addition, after research was done on the car dealership, the attached reviews by other unhappy
customers were found stating startlingly similar circumstances. In fact, Mr. [redacted]'s son was
concerned for his father’s safety due to some of these reviews.
? Road Ready Used Cars has repeatedly done this to numerous customers and it needs to be
reported and stopped.
In conclusion, Mr. [redacted] hereby requests a refund for the $500 deposit.
List of attachments:
1. Letter from [redacted] Dealer Services.
2. Screenshot of text exchanges between Mr. [redacted] and his daughter.
3. Customer reviews for Road Ready Used Cars (4 total).

Review: I was interested in a car but the price they were charging me was ridiculous for 2002 [redacted] so I cancel the deal and ask them for my title back they refuse to give it back and told me I have to pay them 1700 for my title that is mine and we never exchange any money for the deal I'm very upset all I want is my title backDesired Settlement: I just want my title back I don't even have the new car because they refuse to give me it from the trade me and my wife never did the trade because the ridiculous price

Review: I visited road ready in November 11 arLund evenings the sales representative showed us some cars 2 in treat us. We were looking for a seven passenger car so they suggested this [redacted] sales manager intreject and said if we were interested he can giget it to us for only $19900.00. We were already running late so we said he can start the papers and we would be back tomorrow. Later that night we went on line to review the car better only to find out that they had it on cars.Com for 14900.00 at the same dealership. When we called to find out if it was the same car the dealer explained they made an error on posting, but claimed they would have to review this with the owner and 1/2 later received a text they would makeep the adjustment. When we came back they said with all the total it came back to 19000.00 and even with the 6,660 I put down I still am financing $12999. And then they but a ** insurance and when I asked about this the sales manager it's a protected message for the loan. When I called the insurance they explained I could cancel it without effecting the loan. I went in and cancel in November 13 only to find out from insurance company and [redacted] Bank nothing has been credited, so I called dealer 1/8/2015 that the credit was sentirely fis week of December. I also have been having a burning smell under my hood and contact dealer twice and now my alternator needs to be replace and dealer is refusing to repair after owning the car less than 90 dayslDesired Settlement: Need the car repaired and a review of why my loan is so high even after what I put down

Review: I brought a 2009 Chrysler 300 2.7 liter engine on 3/15/2014. It had 89,000 miles on the car. I purchased the car from Road Read Used Cars in Bridgeport, CT. Since 4/15/2014 I have been without a car due to a major repair work that needed to be done. The owner Ron Saracino Stated verbally over the phone that the car needed new Head Gaskets. Ron stated and provided paperwork that the car was "safety checked" prior to it being sold. My first trip out of town on 4/13/14 to New York with my new car left me stranded and with my car overheating and coolant bubbling out of the engine compartment and me having to tow it back to Bridgeport, ct to get repaired . Ron then stated that he would fix the problem because it wasn't long ago that I got the car and it's under warranty. He told me the Repair work would take 10 Days. I gave him the car to be repaired on 4/15/14 and on 4/24/14 that is when the car was suppose to be ready to be given back to me. today is now 4/25/14 and car is still not repaired or no communication as to when it will be done. In the meantime I have been forced to get a car rental which has now costs me $26.00 per day. I have been trying to get in contact with owner Ron but he is constantly unavailable and doesn't return phone calls. Firstly my problem is that the repair work is taking way to long. Ron's lack of communication with the status of car has been unsatisfactory.Desired Settlement: I would like the car be taken back and money refunded back for the full amount. The car repair work shouldn't take this long and I've been highly inconvenienced

Review: When asked questions the owner of the dealership answered with sarcastic statements that did not answer the questions. The day after, the salesman called me and I told him I didn't want to do business with the dealership due to the unpleasantness. The owner then called me on the premise of wanting to fix what I thought he had done wrong. When he started to call me names, I hung up on him.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Not applicable

I don't know what you do in this case. Businesses should not be allowed to call people up and call them names. At the very least I guess something should be posted on your site for potential buyers to beware of this business.

Review: Checked a vehicle out late Saturday afternoon as they were closing. could not test drive the car because there was no one there to move the other cars blocking this vehicle out of the way, but made a tentative deal (verbal-which is my fault should have known better but trusted them because of their high ratings) on the car pending a test drive. My wife researched the car once we got home and found that this vehicle has a lot of engine problems, particularly blow head gaskets. They are closed Sundays so I called and left a message letting them know that I wished to back out of the deal and left my name and number to call me back. Called me on Tuesday telling me that I signed contracts and they were going to take me to court and repo my wife's car, mind you I never signed the title and they don't have it either. The also magically never said that it was defendant on the test drive and claimed I never left a message. Furthermore, they questioned what kind of person leaves a message to cancel a deal and that my word means nothing, to which I replied I'm pretty sure my word is good, I gave my word to this country and it was good enough. Ii just want this deal cancelled.Desired Settlement: Cancel transaction

Review: Unlawful withholding by Road Ready Used Cars of deposit funds in the amount of $500 USD for a sale that did not occur.

The contract is contingent upon securing of financing. Financing was not obtained by buyer with the assistance of the dealership, as indicated by the contingency clause listed on the sales agreement; therefore, the transaction was not completed and the contract, thereby, annulled.Desired Settlement: The sale did not occur. As a result, buyer should not be penalized for not being able to obtain financing and shall, therefore, receive a refund for their $500 deposit.

Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2007 [redacted] Tacoma. After doing all the paperwork, including bank contracts that were sent into the bank, he came back the next day and said his wife did not want him to buy that. He stated he wanted the [redacted] Rogue, but he needed a luggage rack. We called the bank and stopped the deal on the Tacoma from getting funded. We billed out the [redacted] Rogue and processed the loan on that vehicle. The bank contracts were sent in and he was happy. The next day we called him to tell him it would be a couple of days until the luggage rack would be in. The same day, about 3 hours later, he came in upset and was told to leave after threats were made more than once. The police escorted him out. I will back up a bit, his daughter was a paralegal. We sent all the papers and contracts to her for her approval. She told her dad it was ok to sign. We had to pay the bank to unwind the contracts and we absorbed the cost of the luggage rack.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because due to the following remarks:

Review: I bought a used 2005 [redacted] from Road Ready on January 30, 2015 fom [redacted]. I was told and was shown paperwork promising me that the car was car faxed, road ready and in perfect driving condition. One day of owning the car the heat turned off on the car and it started to over heat, I called Road Ready and was told to call back on Monday, on Monday when I called back they said to call back Tues and so on. Finally the owner [redacted] told me to bring the car down and he would have a look, he said the heat had to be flushed and said he did this. I drove the car home and it over heated again, again I brought it back ,and again he said it needed to be flushed. Again I brought the car home and the heat turned off and it overheated. So I brought it back again this time the owner [redacted] got in my face sore profanities at me and told me to leave before he hurt him. After my sister in law spoke to him he agreed to fix the car we left it with him for 5 days, on the fifth day I picked it up he said it was completely fixed and goodbye. I drove the car home and by the time I reached my driveway the heat turned off and it started to over heat again. So now the car is at my mechanic and having the engine completely repaired at the cost of the warranty I purchased through Road Ready. The car has thousands of dollars of work needed and I have nothing to drive now. Road Ready will not take any responsibility and said we bought it as is although there was never a sticker on the window stating this. They did write it on our contract because they said they had to with any car being over nine years old. We feel Road Ready should take some responsibility for this especially seeing their website states that they check the cars before sales, this I believe is false advertising. I bought a $7,500 car that I can't drive and I have to have repaired by my mechanic, if I was told that the car had mechanical problems I would not have purchased.

Review: On 3/27/2013 me and my daughter went to Road Ready Car Dealership in Bpt. Conn. to look at a car that she had talked to [redacted] the salesperson about. We went in to see the car they talked about and we told him what we were willing to spend on the purchase of a car and what she could afford. He showed us a chevy colbalt at first, then he checked his list and started to show other cars that were way out of price range I stepped in and said we want to stick with much cheaper cars. We also told him that my daughter did not have her lic. Until the next day when she was to take her road test he said no problem just call the next day with the lic. number. We were told there would be no problem with finance and they even gave us the monthly payment of 255.00 a month. And then asked about a deposit she gave them a deposit of 1500.00, she asked if she changed her mind could she have her deposit back [redacted] stated yes we won't keep your money. We were denied finance and they started to give us the run around about trying a different type of car. And I found out that [redacted] bank denied both cars. I spoke with the finance person at [redacted] her name is [redacted] and she told me that they were both denied. Now after the whole long drawn out situation they do not want to refund my daughters deposit. They said she could have a store credit. Today when I spoke with [redacted] he again gave me the run around, and said that once he sells a car it is out of his hands and I have to talk with the finance person [redacted], he will not speak with me since I told him that I will see him in court.

My daughter would like her deposit of $1500.00 returned.

Review: I am a student I went to buy a car at road ready used cars and I was asked to give all the details and I gave my ssn and other required details to them and signed some papers and put down 1000$ as deposit (Not Down Payment) then they processed my application.

the apr came up to 19% and I signed the documents and realised that I cant pay that amount with that rate and asked them to give some time but they hurried me to sign the papers I talked to the bank they did not release the funds yet and the application is on hold.(Car is still at the dealer)

when I called back the dealer and requested him to cancel the contract he started saying the funds are released the car is yours and I have to take the car at any cost. he was also saying that he will ruin my life and also discriminated that I wont be staying any longer in this countryDesired Settlement: I want to cancel the contract and don't want to take the car and return back my deposit

Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2007 [redacted] Camry from Road Ready Used Cars on 10/14/2015. He left a partial down payment of $500.00 towards the purchase on 10/14/2015. We submitted his information for financing and he was approved. Mr. [redacted] returned to Road Ready on 10/16/2015, signed all of the financing and [redacted] documents, and left an additional down payment of $500 towards the purchase. The purchase order, which the customer signed, clearly stated "no refund of deposit." The financing contract, which the customer signed, also stated "no cooling off period" or cancellation period for this sale. We did not force him to sign any documents. He chose to purchase the vehicle and then changed his mind after all the documents were signed and sent to the bank. His down payment is not refundable, but we will gladly apply his down payment towards the purchase of this or another vehicle.
