In response to your reply it's hard to do a investigation when you never came over and looked at it.You have never returned our phone calls and then you secretary stopped answering the phone calls all together. But after further investigation on our part with help from professionals we have found out that if you would have put control joints north and south along with the control joints going east and west this cracking would have been prevented. When we talked to you in February you said you would put us on the list first thing in the spring but then we never heard from you so we are assuming you never intended to fix this not very good business practiceWe feel you should refund our dollars so we can have it installed correctly. Thank you,

***, I have not publicly said anything to your sister. We are unhappy because we paid $6,for concrete that cracked on both sides of the stoop in less than a year. In the last comment that I said to you, it was stated that we were not requesting a complete overhaul of the stoop but that we were requesting the sides to be fixed (an owner and someone that has been working in concrete for a number of years should have some ideas on what needs to be done and fix what went wrong) and the pictures were attached to show concrete and how bad it looks. We believe that it is reasonable to make sure the 2 sides are fixed and to make sure those long term affects last longer than the one month attempt that you did last time. Finally, we have not said anything in social media or other outlets as we were hoping that a business would fix the faulty concrete that was either poured or foundations that were set in having it crack in such a short time frameIf the business is unwilling to make things right (fix the two sids of the stoop) or stand behind their work and not do a long term fix (for years to come so that the cracks on the two side do not recrack again) for concrete that is an absolute eye sore for something less than two years old, the business will not receive any recommendations with the connections that we have in a number of sectors.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I called *** and his business in in which he slapped some cheap concrete mix (that any person could have done buying it at some department store) on the side of the crack on the east side. The cracks on the east side developed right through the cheap attempt about a week after he slapped the bag mix of concrete on the east side. The cracks on the west side started to get bigger and there are also hairline cracks on the top of it as well From the fall of 2014, spring of 2015, summer of 2015, and fall of 2015, I have called and left messages to see how the stoop should be fixed as we want this to last for long term and do not feel that with almost $paid that three sides to a stoop should be cracking as much as it did. We are asking that it should be replaced to what we paid for as we want this business to take accountability for a job that was not performed to expectations. There has been no communication and we wish to have our stoop fixed. We know that *** is a great guy and has a solid reputation for his business and everybody I have talked with - his family, the church that he poured concrete, and others have said he has done a good job. My family and I have been very frustrated for what took place with our stoop and just want this issue to be taken care for what we have paid for If the replacement is unreasonable, has the business looked at this stoop recently and what more can they do on the east and west side to make these repairs?

A call to myself approxmonths after the job was completed, the owner pointed out that on the two sides of the stoop a crack occurred. We revisited the job and made an attempt to repair the east side,
the west side I believe did not merit any repairs. In the owner is now asking for replacement which is unreasonable in my opinion

In response to claim #[redacted] the concrete patio that is in question and installed by Rock Solid Concrete LLC on 10/9/2014, has occurred cracks in it over and above control joints we put in is unfortunate. These are due to what I believe are frost cracks. These occur when concrete is in a young age...

and frost gets under the concrete and raises it. It is unfortunate that this happened but it is something I can not stand behind. The unwanted cracks I believe occurred from frost pushing up through the slab that first winter. A call to myself approx. 12 months after the job was completed, the owner pointed out that on the two sides of the stoop a crack occurred.  We revisited the job and made an attempt to repair the east side, the west side I believe did not merit any repairs.  In 2015 the owner is now asking...

for replacement which is unreasonable in my opinion.

We stated our position along with the facts that we believe to have caused the cracks in our first response.  We continue to stand behind those.Thank you,Rock Solid Concrete LLC

The matter has been settled and the customer paid the balance of their bill in full.  We apologize for not responding sooner to this matter.Thank you![redacted]Rock Solid Concrete LLC608-325-7211

Revdex.com:I paid in full due to owner threatening to send the unpaid balance in...

dispute to collections agency and this would impact my credit.  I still feel the matter has not be resolved and the owner is not willing to resolve the issue.  He is unwilling to work with us or compensate for the defects in his work that had a one year warranty. He has also refused to fix the defective work he did.

Review: Last September (2012), we had Rock Solid put in a back concrete patio and steps. The finished product was not up to acceptable standards. The patio itself was conventional concrete with an aggregate concrete border. When doing the border, the workers got concrete on the already laid/dried conventional concrete and did not clean it up in a timely manner so it shows "drips" all around the edge. We can live with this - the patio is never completely clean so you can't really see it all that much. A person who really cared about perfectionism would be quite upset about how it looks. We are okay with it. Now the steps - that is another matter entirely. We had Rock Solid put conventional concrete steps up to a sliding glass door. They have 4 rounded corners. It looks terrible!! None of the corners are actually round and none of them match. One step is slanted when it should be level. The concrete itself is not smooth and the color is not uniform at all. The color does not match the conventional concrete patio, either. When it was first put in, I thought I could "live" with it. Then came the snows and I forgot about it. Then came Spring (2013) and we spend a lot of time out there - it looks like very poorly done work. I am NOT happy with it at all. I called Rock Solid to have them come by and take a look. They refuse to return my phone calls! I have called and left numerous messages over the last several months to no avail. It seems very unprofessional of them to not even return my calls or come by and discuss this situation.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund the cost of the steps so that I can have another company come in and redo the steps. Someone else in our neighborhood had rounded concrete steps put in by another company and they look perfect. So it is not like it cannot be accomplished. I am not asking for the entire patio to be redone or that money refunded. I just want my money back on the steps so I can get them redone.

Response:

I am responding to the complaint assigned an ID of [redacted].

The customer was given a proposal with two different options for a patio.

Mrs. [redacted] choose a combination of the two options. The total of the first

statement dated September 8, 2012 was $2,985 as the customer stated, but the

billing was changed on October 1,2012 allowing for a credit of$165, therefore

the total was $2820. Payment of$1410 (check #[redacted]) October 12, 2012 was

made. Final payment was $1410 (check #[redacted]) on December 6,2012. Never at

any time did the customer state any complaints with the job performed for her.

[redacted] stopped in June 2013 to check out the steps upon Mrs [redacted] first call

and again two weeks later but neither time was Mrs [redacted] home.

Sincerely,

Consumer
