I responded to this on 1.31.17 and received this again on 2.1.17 Customer made a "Web" (online) payment on 1.5.17, and listed $59.20 in both the subscription AND "NIE Donate" (Newspapers in education) boxes. Therefore, money was taken out for both transactions. The Customer Service Representative could only see the customer subscription account since NIE is in a different portal.We credited back the customer $14.00 and put her on a lower rate on 1.7.17. The transaction notes only state "office adjust", but I believe it is the difference between both rates.I contacted the customer on 1.31.17 to verify the NIE payment and will be happy to refund her if it was a true error on her part, but she has not returned my call yet.
I did not state a refund would be put back into the customers account immediately. I stated a refund would be processed. Customer paid online using her checking account. Therefore, a check is being processed and will be mailed to customer. Customer should receive the check in 7-10 days.Again, nature of this situation arose when customer paid online and listed $59.20 in both the subscription box and the NIE donate box (and paying using a bank draft), resulting in $118.40 being processed. This is by no means a Rockford Register error. However, we are issuing a refund from the NIE account as a courtesy to the customer. We have to follow proper procedures in providing the refund, which takes 7-10 days to submit and be received by customer.This is not a Revdex.com issue, but a payment issue that is in the process of being resolved.

[redacted] called on 4/28/2015 to stop his subscription, on that same day a refund was issued to the credit card ending in 0500 that Mr. [redacted] used to purchase his subscription. The Transaction ID provided by the bank is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. We urge Mr.[redacted] to check with his bank regarding this matter. We will do further tracking if necessary.

I just ended a very pleasant phone call with an RR Star staffer and he heard my concerns and what transpired as I recall it. We agreed he would stop the subscription and he would look into what was said by the customer service staff. We closed the matter in a friendly tone and he offered if I should want to restart my subscription I could obtain the heavily discounted rate.
