Sacramento Hyundai Reviews (33)

Sacramento Hyundai did replaced this clients transmission in June of 2017.  After repairs were complete the vehicle was delivered back to client. Since that time, there has been no further communication from client and Sacramento Hyundai believed the repair had corrected clients concern. On or...

around 9-1-17 , Sacramento Hyundai was informed by [redacted] Hyundai that the car was in there shop for inspection. At that time, [redacted] Hyundai informed Sacramento Hyundai of inspection results and findings that were related to original transmission replacement done at Sacramento Hyundai. Approval was given immediately by Sacramento Hyundai to [redacted] Hyundai to make needed repairs to restore vehicle to normal operating condition. Since the time of transmission replacement in June 2017, Sacramento Hyundai has parted ways with the technician that performed the repair work and replaced the transmission on this clients vehicle. If service manager at Sacramento Hyundai can be of any further assistance please call [redacted].

Although we never want to hear of unhappy customers, and do more than required of us to make our customers happy, there is certainly a limitation that needs to be considered. Mrs. [redacted] bought a 9 year old vehicle that is NOT a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned. We do include a 2 yr/100k mile...

powertrain warranty on all cars under 10 years of age and 100k miles on every vehicle purchased at NO COST to the buyer. The seal that was repaired by us was not a covered item, but the dealership repaired the item at NO COST to Mrs [redacted] in an effort to make her happy. This was an above and beyond effort by the dealership as the slight leak was absolutely a normal "personality trait" for a car of this age and not a safety concern.
The window was working during the original inspection of the vehicle. The dealership cannot be responsible for everything that breaks on an older used unit after purchase. Also, Mrs [redacted], and every buyer at our store, was offered the opportunity to purchase a warranty that would cover the items in question. We offer it to every customer because all cars, even very good ones, can potentially have mechanical repair needs. Mrs. [redacted] declined additional warranty coverage.
Mrs. [redacted] received paperwork, that she signed, explaining all of her warranty coverage. Including the contract, a warranty form (explaining coverage), a form explaining the optional items she purchased, and a form specifically stating that she is choosing to decline additional optional warranty coverage that we made available to her. The dealership does not, and did not, misrepresent warranty coverage in any way. If she misplaced those forms, the dealership will be happy to provide her copies.

I am rejecting this response because:Everybody’s complaining has two sides of the story. The dealer story is told after the fact that I signed the documents. The first time they explained what they do is when I brought my friend and tried to make comprised.  Who would buy a car that dealer agreed $26,000 out of the door in verbal agreement to get your trust. Then they stabbed behind your back???? Somehow they got me to sign a $45,396.4 contract for a car. Who would that stupid?! My lawyer asked me if my signatures are in the contract. I said yes. Then he said that I can’t do anything about it. I know I will lose in court. I don’t expect I will get my deposit of $4,000 back. I treated it as my expensive lesson. The reason I file the complaint is that I want to let the public know if they will buy car from Hyundai dealer. Be award their businessethic and how they can trap you in term of money.Thank you for listening

I am happy to talk with the specific employees as requested in the complaint, but the complaint did not include specific names. I did, however, talk with the service manager and the concern will be addressed in our next staff meeting. We are, of course, always concerned with the care of our...

Review: I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Tucson from Sacramento Hyundai in Nov.2015. Three extended warranties were added to the purchase. In the 1st week of December 2015 I requested that all three extended warranties be cancelled. Two were cancelled and credited towards my car loan. The third extended warranty, [redacted] Warranty was never cancelled. It is still active as of this date. I have made numerous contacts with [redacted], their [redacted]r regarding the cancellation of this warranty. Requesting it be cancelled, inquiries about the status of the warranty, progress reports. Contacts were made in December, January 2016, February, March, and now April. My recent contacts are now being ignored. I contacted [redacted]) in Florida about this warranty. They told me I cannot cancel the warranty myself. It MUST be cancelled through Sacramento Hyundai. I have contacted Hyundai Motor about this. They will not help. This warranty is valued at $1215.00. I do not understand why this is a problem. They simply submit a cancellation form and it is done. Why can't Sacramento Hyundai do this?Desired Settlement: Submission of warranty cancellation form to [redacted] for my [redacted], processing of cancellation, and credit applied to my car loan. [redacted] tells me I should get the full $1215.00 back because I requested this cancellation within 30 days of purchase.

Response:

We apologize for the misunderstanding. The original attempt to cancel the contract was misplaced after arriving at our business office. The cancellation has been submitted and will be refunded to the customer forthwith.

Response:

[redacted] stated" Hi [redacted]: I hate to say it but this looks like a lame excuse. Considering the numerous contacts I have made in the last four months it seems they should have been able to figure this out three months ago (misplaced form). In addition, I have seen the blank [redacted] cancellation form. It requires signatures from the car owner as well as Sacramento Hyundai. I have never signed a [redacted] cancellation form. But, we'll see how this goes. I would request that you keep this complaint open until I can verify the proper credit appears on my [redacted] car loan. Thank you for your help. -[redacted]

Review: I took my car into the Huyndai Sacramento dealership on April 27, 2016, for a routine oil change. After waiting two hours I was told that my vehicle did not pass an manufacture recall test that was currently in place for problems with the engine she explained At that time I was told that I will not have to come out of pocket with anything but a $50 deposit for a rental care which the company would cover under the warranty. I explained to my service advisor ([redacted]) that I am on the "do not rent" list with [redacted]. In which she responded as long as I don't owe a balance with [redacted] I will be able to get a rental due to being covered under warranty. Due to this taking place on a Saturday, I was forced to call into work on Monday to get the rental care being that I commute to work from Elk Grove to Lodi ca. Once I arrived to the rental care company ([redacted]) I was denied the car rental due to being on the "do not rent list" I immediately left [redacted] went back to the Huyndai dealership where I spoke directly to the service manager ([redacted]) I explained the situation and explained I am unable to rent with [redacted], which I had already explained to [redacted] on Saturday. He looked my in the eye and said "well what do you want us to do" we are giving you an option to get a care and we are not responsible for you not being able to get a car. He said if I call around to the other rental care companies and tell them the situation maybe they will be able to Bill Huyndai, after calling multiple companies I was unsuccessful. [redacted] gave me the number to customer service stating they will be able to send an override, after speaking with 5 different people I got no where and was referred back to [redacted]. He then transferred my case to the area manager to see if maybe I can get a loaner through a different dealership which was denied. Long story short it is now June 30th I still do not have my car back with no estimated time when it will be fixed and paying out of pocket $250/week for a rentalDesired Settlement: At this point I am asking that I either get my care back as soon as possible, get refunded for rental and some type of compensation for my troubles. No one is apologetic about this and the area manager actually laughed when I spoke to her over the phone when I adviced her I will take steps to file a complaint. I will never do business with this company again due to the poor service and lack of customer service they have. I would like someone of authority to contact me from Hyundai and a refund

Hyundai does offer and approve alternate transportation for this campaign. We have a national account with [redacted].Mrs. [redacted] for an unknown specified reason is unable to rent from [redacted]. Mrs. [redacted] went to a different rental agency to rent a vehicle. We are not set up on a national account with this other agency, and they will not take a purchase order from Sacramento Hyundai. Review: I purchased a Hyundai Veloster vin: [redacted],3/22/13 along with a vehicle service contract $2460.00 and GAP insurance $695.00. On 9/14/14 the vehicle was in an accident and deemed total loss. On 10/3/14 a Hyundai cancelation form was sent for a pro rated refund for the items mentioned above. On 10/15/14 Sacramento Hyundai was sent the information with the amount to refund to me. I have spoken several times to the CNC department ###-###-#### and they tell me Sacramento Hyundai has received the form and they will be the ones to send me a refund. I have spoken to a [redacted] and a [redacted] which neither one is helpful in resolving the issue. [redacted] ###-###-#### told me two weeks for the refund. [redacted] (very rude) said 60 days or when ever they want. They also mislead there customers regarding how the GAP insurance works. There was a extended warranty refund of $904.70 that is in question as to where it was sent.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund sent to me right away. I would like people to know how unprofessional and deceiving this dealership is when it comes to any issues involving them having to refund or cancel something.

Response:

I wanted to let you know I received a check from Sacramento Hyundai on 11/15/14 in the amount of $2432.21.

Thank you so much for your help in having them send my refund.

Review: On 9/26/2013, late at night alone to shop for a car. I was interested in a Hyundai Genesis Coup. I negotiated with the sale person and his manager. I offered $26,000 out of the door. In addition, I asked for put in sunroof and LoJack. They didn't hesitate to say yes. And the manger told me go in the office to do the paper work. The lender told me it is going to be $574 a mo. And he told me add another $5 to get the insurance, so I did. In my mind, I don't care what the monthly payment was because I would paid it off after a month or so. I put down $4000 as down payment. The lender asked me to sign here and here and initial here and here. I did what he said. I didn't even look at the detail before I signed the document as I trusted him. After a week or two. I want to find out exactly how much I need to pay them off. But When I looked through the paper work. I was VERY VERY so surprised if I want to pay off the loan. It will be $33,169.99 I told my friend about it. He and I went to their office to clarify the problem. He gave us some excuses to blow us off. Then I called my lawyer if I can sue them. My lawyer told me I can't because I signed the paper. I felt so stupid that I can just believe what they said and signed the paper blindly. Plus they did a lousy job for the sunroof they put in. the cover of the sunroof would open half way after you drive for drove for a while. It is a nightmare.Desired Settlement: I want my $4000 back and an explanation why they do such thing to me. I just don't believe a Hyundai car worth $26,000 and turn out to be $33,169.99 car. It is like 27% increase over night. This is ridiculous sell.Right here, I want to worn the people about the business Sacramento Hyundai practice. If you are women, NEVER go alone to buy car in Sacramento Hyundai. They will be really nice to you, offer coffee, tv etc. Once they trap you to buy a car, YOU will be regret.

Response:

Sacramento Hyundai cares for each of our customers and conducts business with high levels of transparency and care. Ms. [redacted] was taken through each line of her sales contract prior to signing to be sure that she understood the costs and products that she received. The $33k that she is stating is for the car, all taxes and fees, and the optional products that she elected to add after the price of the car had been agreed upon. It is never our desire to have an unhappy customer. Ms. [redacted] is always welcome to come back to the dealership and cancel the cancellable products that she bought for a prorated refund.

Review: The dealership stripped my oil pan, called it "Normal wear and tear" and expects me to pay for the labor involved to replace the part. On October 22nd 2013, I took my vehicle into the Sacramento Hyundai dealership to be serviced for an oil change and tire rotation. During that service one of the technicians come and speak to me and tell me that my oil pan is stripped and it is leaking oil. The service technician asks me if I had prior knowledge to this and I responded "No". The service technician continued to ask me who performed my normal oil changes and I explained to the service technician that I had only gotten oil changes from the dealership and the last time I received an oil change no one mentioned anything about leaking oil or a stripped oil pan. He said he needed to do some research and he would return back. When he returned to speak with me he said that he did some research on my car and noticed that I had over 25 oil changes which would be correct for the amount of miles I had on my car. Then he continued to present and estimate for the replacement part and labor involved. I explained to him that that cost should not be my liability since the dealership performs my oil change and part stripped was a service error on the mechanics behalf. The service technician said he needed time to speak to his Service Manager -[redacted] and I told him that would be fine. While the service technician was speaking to his service manager I called my Uncle who is a mechanic in Texas and asked him about this situation and he told me the only way your oil pan would me stripped is if someone over tightened the oil drain plug or used the wrong tool when performing your oil change and that it is never normal wear and tear. I also took the time to call a few local repair shops and they all had the same response. So when the service technician returned I asked to speak with his manager and he took me to him. When speaking to [redacted] it seemed as if he just did not want to accept the fact that his service team was responsible for the damages. [redacted] insisted that it was normal wear and tear because of the amount of mileage I had on my car. Shortly into the debate he offered to comp the part but I had to pay for the labor and I declined that as well because I should not be responsible for any cost associated with the repair. [redacted] continued to try and tell me what a good deal that was and how I would only be paying half of what I normally would but I continued to decline his offer. I asked for his managers contact information hoping to resolve this issue but the Service Director - [redacted] simply said "I trust [redacted]'s judgment so unfortunately there is nothing I can do for you." So after hanging up with [redacted] the dealership continued with my oil change and when they were finished and I am picking my car up the service technician explains to me that the mechanic just replaced my plug with a larger sized plug to stop the leaking. That just showed me that they practice taking short cuts and using quick fixes to temporarily satisfy customers. A bigger drain plug will just continue to strip my pan every time my oil is changed, it does not fix the problem. I then went to explain this in detail to the Service Manager - [redacted] and he said "Mam, there is nothing I can do for you outside of what I offered you earlier." I responded have a nice day and left. About a week later their customer service team contacted me about my experience and I told them how unsatisfied I was and why. The customer service representative told me a manager would be in contact with me to try and resolve all issues and I had on the day of my service. I explained to the customer service representative that I would really appreciate that because I rather not report the incident to the Revdex.com and he thanked me for my patience, reassured me a manager would be in contact and ended the conversation. I have heard nothing back from Sacramento Hyundai since.Desired Settlement: I would like for Sacramento Hyundai to replace my oil pan with out me being responsible for any of the cost as soon as possible.

Review: This company has very poor customer relations. I have been a regular in the service department and was treated very poorly recently when I tried to make an appointment for my car. When I tried to call and talk to the manager I was put on hold by a woman at the front desk for almost 10 minutes. I had to hang up and call back and ask her why she could not pick back up and let me know that he was unavailable or have his voicemail she told me she thought he had picked up. These two people treated me like they don't need my business, this kind of rudeness was unprovoked and very unprofessional.Desired Settlement: Confirmation that their customer service staff have been talked to by a superior about what it means to be a representative of the company that they work for.

Review: This dealership conducts fraudulent business practices. When I first test drove the vehicle we inquired about a noise coming from the engine and was told that it was normal. I ended up purchasing the used vehicle from them on 9/27/15. I was assured that the warranty that "came" with the vehicle would be good at any Chevrolet dealer if I had any issue with it. Four days after the purchase I discovered the car was leaking oil. When I returned to the dealership I was told that the warranty was not valid for the first 30 day. I told something completely different by the salesman [redacted]. I was told to bring the car to the closest dealership or back to Hyundai. Once I went back to Hyundai I was then told that within the first 30 days the "sales department" should cover the repair if approved. I was denied and after having to leave several messages and not getting a response I was finally able to get in contact with [redacted] who was able to get the repair approved (leaking differential seal). The repair was completed on 10/19/15. On 11/09/15 I took my vehicle into the local Chevrolet deal as I was instructed to do so by the dealership because the noise I inquired about initially grew louder and the passenger window would not roll all the way up (despite the fact this vehicle had passed the certified pre-owned check by their mechanics just 8 weeks earlier)I was then told that the warranty not only was not valid at their location it is only valid at the original dealership. In addition neither of the issues I had with the vehicle were covered. I contacted both the warranty company and the dealership to explain why I was told something that was untrue about the and have never received a call back. So the end result is that within 6 weeks of the purchase of a "Hyundai certified used vehicle" I paid out of pocket $1189.81. Again I contacted [redacted] was actually the only person who helped. He requested a copy of my warranty which I emailed to him on 11/12/15 and no word sinceDesired Settlement: I would request that this dealership to de required to disclose all information in regard to the warranty the vehicle itself. I would like to be reimbursed the $1189.81 since the dealership lied to me and misrepresented the vehicle condition as well as the warranty.

[redacted],Thank you for the assistance.

Review: I was recently sold an allegedly "certified car" by Hyundai of Sacramento. This vehicle had gone through a 150 point inspection and all noted items were to have been fixed prior to certification and sale. It was not!

The car needs brakes (at 2mm) the gasket needs to be sealed (leaking oil) the cabin air filter is contaminated, the car was not detailed, hood not aligned, scratches on car, steering wheel controls were faulty, wiper blades bad, poor paint job, loud noise upon start up, rattle when drive overall the "certified car" did not work properly. (I had the car about 3 weeks)

When I purchased the car I told them there were multiple cracks in the windshield they told me they would "take care of them" but we would need to make an appointment to come back later. We did, they only fixed two cracks then, said we would have to deal with the rest. There are still cracks in the windshield, even those fixed were done so poorly.

According to everyone I have spoken with ([redacted], another Hyundai dealership (where the car is located) an attorney and an independent mechanic) they all said Sacramento Hyundai should not have sold a "certified car" in that condition.

I was totally defrauded, I would not have purchased nor gone there for a car in this state. I am left without a car since I won't pay to have anything fixed.

Is it legal for a dealership to sell a car with 2mm of brakes, then state in verbal and written form that they fixed things that weren't fixed? Can a dealership legally sell a car in dangerous condition?

I do not wish to do business with them as they are unethical. I drove my children around in this car believing (up to a point) that we were safe. Multiple people signed off acknowledging the certified status. How is this acceptable?

Their service department is extremely slow and I don't wish to give them another opportunity to waste my time, money & decieve me again, especially since we are getting close to the end of the warranty.Desired Settlement: I want to return the car to them. I want all of my money back from them including the money I spent on the extended warranty and any fees or miscellaneous cost.

Business

Response:

We certainly do not like to hear that a customer is unhappy and will always make a valiant attempt to make every customer happy whenever reasonably possible. We absolutely would not sell an unsafe or unsound car to a customer. We are absolutely not in the practice of misleading, or misrepresenting to, our customers in any way. Certified cars are certainly held to a higher standard. However, any pre-owned car with 53k miles is absolutely not going to be esthetically flawless. Some amount of wear and tear is a reasonable expectation. We are certainly happy to have Ms. [redacted] come back to the store so that we might inspect and address the windshield and brake concerns to be sure they were done correctly. We have high expectations for our service staff, but are also open to the possibility that they do, on occasion, make mistakes. If the brakes are, in fact, under minimum standards, we will absolutely replace them. If there are chips in the glass that are not repairable, or cracks exist, then we will be happy to replace the windshield. We will find and repair the issues with the steering wheel controls and detail the car again. Sacramento Hyundai does business to the best of our abilities, with the customer's best interests in mind, and in the spirit of long term business relationships defined by fair and ethical practices and mutually respectful treatment. Hopefully, these concessions will make Ms. [redacted] happy with the overall end experience.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:Not only were the brakes bad, the windshield cracked, the cabin air filter contaminated, the steering wheel switches inoperable, the car filthy with a stench, windshield wipers need replacing and the gasket leaking oil, the mpg does not go above 28mpg indicating another issue. They knew it because several of these things were noted on the certification paperwork as needing attention. All of these items should have been perfect upon purchase due to certified status. If I wanted a regular used car, the you get what you get, but a certified car is supposed to be held to the highest standard. This was not. Again how does a car get signed off on as being certified by MULTIPLE people with all of the aforementioned items in disrepair? Is this not illegal? It seems like it falls under the Unfair Deceptive or Abusive Practices act and the California Deceptive Trade Practices law. Why would I want to allow this business to again mislead me when they clearly had knowledge of the status of the car while it was in their possession? Again the signatures verifying the Certified Status. I just want all of my money back.

Business

Response:

Ms. [redacted] can return the car on or before April 1st and we will rescind the contract.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Per you request I will return the vehicle to your establishment by April 1, 2016. At that time I will sign the necessary documents and expect a full refund of all fees, taxes, etc., inclusive of the money spent on the extended warranty without exception. Who will my contact be for this transaction? Do I need to make an appointment? What documents do I need to bring? How long can I expect this process to take?
