Safeguard Construction Reviews (24)

This matter was promptly attended to in August and drip edge installation was ordered by employee MK on the back of the house, over the problem area. This was also installed within a week of your phone call notifying MK that there was a problem. As your contract states, the warranty is labor only...

and does not cover materials, therefore you should have been billed for drip edge. MK installed this as a courtesy to you at no charge in the interest of keeping you satisfied. At that time there was no leak in your roof. Your husband stated to MK that he wanted the drip edge installed around the entire house at no charge; of course this request was denied as we cannot install unnecessary materials at no charge. MK also spoke with you less than 48 hours prior to your involving outside parties such as the Revdex.com and the city, and informed you that we are in our busiest season would be out there as soon as possible. After much screaming at him on the part of your husband, MK still agreed to come out at no charge as a courtesy, and you were more than fine with this at the time. We have tried our best to accommodate your needs, however your leaving for Florida does not dictate our work schedule, especially considering you do not have an active leak damaging the interior of your home.  As you have been told several times, you do not have an active leak in the roof. If you remain insistent that there is a leak, we will need photos of the leak/area emailed to our office before any further action will be taken on our end. We have already installed additional drip edge in August to the back of the house. We will not be installing any free drip edge to any other area of the house as this was done purely in the interest of putting your mind at ease, and was not a necessity to prevent a leak. This information was also sent to you directly in an email on 10/18/17; we have yet to receive a response. Please send photos of the leak/area or we will consider this matter closed.

Mr. [redacted] I apologize for the inconveniences you’ve had regarding your property, however this is not a roof issue. We have been to your property immediately both times that you have claimed that the roof is leaking, and both times you were informed that there is a large piece of siding missing...

near the roof causing the leak (photo attached). One of our employees did secure a piece of metal over the missing siding as a courtesy to stop the leak, and you were again informed that you needed to contact a siding installer. We offered to have a building inspector from the city of [redacted] inspect the roof since you are insisting once again that the roof is leaking, and you declined (text message attached). We attempted to have an inspector out anyway, however since you pulled the permit, it would have to be at your request. Please note that in your contract it very clearly states that we are not responsible for any interior damages (contract attached), and especially considering that your roof is not leaking, we cannot cover the costs of any interior repairs.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We never agreed that one or two days of work a week was acceptable. They have already taken over 6 months another 3 months is unacceptable. In the last 3 weeks, they have spent a total of 12 hours there, which is also unacceptable.
Regards,
[redacted]

As previously stated, we cannot alter the contract that is in place by
adding a date of completion. We hope to have it finished in
approximately 90 days, and will continue to work 1-2 days per week as
agreed upon.
