My car with in a accident with a individual that carries Safeway insuranceI have had nothing but horrible experiences with this company in resolving my claimFirst I was told that I need to go to the South Side of Chicago in to get repairs done on the vehicleThis is at minimum miles from my homeI am not even able to go to work or school per Doctors orders and to make such a trip is not possibleI was also told that I could only rent a car from [redacted] at $a dayNot that I can drive anywhere besides doctors office but considering my car that was damaged is a [redacted] , I should receive a similar vehicleI contacted [redacted] and gave them the claim number and they told me I have to rent a car at my own expense and that Safeway is not going to payAt this point I called Safeway again and they are closed on Saturdays with no emergency linesI have also dealt with very rude employees one was Christina that has language barrier issues and hung up on meThe body shop I took my car to, they are telling me Safeway is only authorizing used parts to be placed on my new vehicle This insurance company should be closedI have already been dealt a traumatic experience and I feel by putting this review on the Revdex.com that I can help others make a educated decision on choosing a insurance company

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Sincerely, Lauren [redacted]

Ms [redacted] received and responded to voicemail messages from you on October 3, 2017, October 19, and October 23, On the latter date, she was able to speak with you and arrange for an inspection of your vehicleYour vehicle was inspected the following day on October 24, Payment was issued and mailed on October 25, Ms [redacted] was out of the office on October 6, and returned to the office on October 16, Her voicemail message provided an alternate extension so that her calls could be transferred to another adjuster for assistance In regards to your claim for diminished value, we will consider this matter and contact you to discuss

This letter is in response to the Complaint filed by Ms. Jeanne Patricia [redacted] and received in our office on January 5, 2017. After reviewing the complaint details and the file, I called Ms. [redacted] and discussed the matter with her. She indicated that they were confused as to why her... son, Bobby [redacted] , incurred a rental bill of $1,102.12 and he received a check for $608.50, which was not the entire amount of the bill. I advised her; normally Safeway Insurance Company does not pay for additional optional insurance the rental companies sell when a consumer rents a vehicle. I advised her after reviewing the file, her son, Bobby, was not informed of this prior to renting the vehicle. I apologized for the misunderstanding and told her that we are mailing out an additional check for $493.62, which is the balance of the rental bill. I also asked her about the unreturned phone calls, as I would like to look into this as this is not a usual business practice of Safeway Insurance. I told her the file handler, Erik ***, returned a call to her son, Bobby, on 1/4/2016 at 2:23 PM Mountain time. She was not aware of the return call and stated it was just the one call that she was referring to. She had no other questions or concerns regarding her son, Bobby [redacted] ’s, claim.

This is a California policy, and therefore subject to the laws and regulations of that state. An inconsistency was identified in the CLUE Report. The policy data has been corrected and the policy has been reinstatedA reinstatement notice will be sent to the named insured

In regards to the complaint filed by our insured, please be advised that we have a recorded statement from her
which indicates that she "was beginning to turn", and she was struck by the other vehicle on the front passengers sideAccording to the rules of the road in Illinois, a person making a left turn must yield to oncoming trafficJust because our insured states that "the other person hit her" does not make the other person at fault for the accidentIt was our insured who should have waited for the oncoming traffic to pass before proceeding with her turnThe police report confirms that our insured turned left in front of the other vehicleFurthermore, there are no witnesses listed on the police report, and there is no indication that the other driver was speedingOur insured indicates that the other driver had no license but this has no bearing on liability
Regarding the damages to our insured's vehicle, be advised that when the appraiser originally inspected the vehicle, he was unable to determine the exact amount of all the damageSuch determination is not possible until the vehicle is torn downWe received the preliminary estimate on December 17, 2013, at which point the repairs were authorized, and payment was issuedOur insured chose to have repairs completed at ***She refused to have the car towed to a body shop we recommendedWe had no control over the length of time it took to repair the vehicleSafeway did, however, pay for fifteen days of rentalWe understand that it took more than fifteen days to repair the vehicleUnfortunately, our insured selected rental coverage reimbursement of days instead of the day rental coverage reimbursement that we also offer
Please note that Safeway Insurance Company makes liability decisions solely based on the Illinois Vehicle Code, police report, and statements obtained from parties involved in the accident
Please advise if we can be of further assistance in this matter
Sincerely,
Claim Department
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/04/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
If someone is Preparing to make a turn and the turn is NOT COMPLETED they did not turnIf the very tip of my car was struck and so much damage was caused to my vehicle before even completing a turn I can't be at faultAgain, the driver hit MeHad to been going over the speed limit for my car to spin and airbag ejectI wasn't even in the other driver's lane far enough to have even been hitI wrote in my statement that I was in the turning lane to make a left turnThe turn was Not complete because I had been struck before crossing the lane the driver hit me inIt doesn't make senseIf I had completed my left turn I wouldn't have bn hit on my front passenger *** I would be hit in the center or rearIf my turn was complete I wouldn't have been struck and facing northbound on impact in the lane I prepared my turnSafeway didn't even attempt to fight a case that is suppose to be of their "insured"They settleI'm not for settlingI refuse to be at fault when clearly if traffic is at a hault do to a light or whatever and you Have to ease out to complete a turn what common sense does it make to fly past a lane of cars that clearly aren't movingNone of this seems legitAgain, I just want the accident of my report as My faultThat's my dispute
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/04/16) */
Please be advised that according to the report we received from our insured:
she was beginning to turn
the other driver was in the right lane of traffic
Based on these facts and the Illinois Traffic Code, our insured was at fault for the accident
Our position remains
Perhaps our insured should try filing a claim with the alleged "at fault-party" and see if they pay her claim based on the facts she has provided
Thank you

On July 6th, Angela called the adjuster and advised her that her insurance carrier denied her claim due to her not having a valid driver's license at the time of the accidentThe adjuster explained that we are waiting on the other carrier's subrogation demand, so that we can prorate the damages and let both her and the other insurance company know the amount we can payOn July 13th, the adjuster returned a call to Angela in which she advised that we still have not received the damage from the other person's insurance company
We received the subrogation from the insurance carrier, and reviewed the damage on July 30thOn July 31st, Angela was advised that the combined property damage is in excess of the insured's limit, so the claims will need to be proratedShe was also told that we are confirming the out of pocket expenses for the other claimantThe out of pocket expenses were confirmed on August 4th and a letter was sent to Rina outlining the distribution of the policy limit and her portion of the settlementOn August 6th, the adjuster called Angela and left a voice mail message advising of the offer letter being mailed to RinaUpon receipt of the releases, we will secure a Letter of Guarantee and a copy of the salvage title from Rina's lien holder to process payment

Ms *** was insured with Safeway through an independent agent until her policy expired on February 4, A renewal offer was made and sent to her in December advising
her to contact her agentWhen Ms *** contacted Safeway on 2/17/and stated that she wanted to renew her Safeway policy she was advised that she must contact her agent in order to do so. She then advised that she had not been able to get in touch with her agent. Since her policy had expired, Safeway advised her that she may still renew her Safeway policy with a different agency if she’d like and proceeded to give her a referral to two agencies close to her home. Since speaking with Ms *** yesterday, Safeway continued to try to reach her agentToday, Safeway learned that her agent has passed away. Again, Customer Service plays a big part in this, when you require assistance from someone you hope they respond promtly AND courteously. Call Made July 21,2017: July, 24th, 2017 @ 5:34pm : July 25th @ 10:33am, not until I made a web inquire did I receive a very rude and uncalled for call on July 26th, 2017. This complaint was filed to bring light to the unprofessionalism of the adjuster Rosario. The accident report had not been requested, because on 07/24, my daughter requested it from the records department, and they said it would be loaded 07/25 on the website. It took her 24 to obtain which we would hope Rosario the Adjuster should of requested first. With Talking to Rosarios' supervisor today, I appreciate the calmness in her voice and the simple information we have been requesting for days. if I my calls had been answered promptly this video footage and incident report number would of been gladly shared. And this complaint wouldn't of been filed. I hope no one has this horrible experience.

Ms. [redacted] received and responded to voicemail messages from you on October 3, 2017, October 19, 2017 and October 23, 2017. On the latter date, she was able to speak with you and arrange for an inspection of your vehicle. Your vehicle was inspected the following day on October 24, 2017. Payment was...

issued and mailed on October 25, 2017.   Ms. [redacted] was out of the office on October 6, 2017 and returned to the office on October 16, 2017. Her voicemail message provided an alternate extension so that her calls could be transferred to another adjuster for assistance.  In regards to your claim for diminished value, we will consider this matter and contact you to discuss.
