In response to the claim made by the above noted customer, the gutter guards he purchased all have somewhat of a water by- pass due to the fact they are blocking the leaves, etcfrom getting in the gutters This is expected and normal When the customer called the installer directly and stated he did not want the gutter guards, the gutter installer removed them As the customer stated he had several conversations with the gutter installer who is not authorized to install, remove or return anything without the proper authority from the Office We removed the gutter guards at no charge to the customer The gutter guards cannot be returned once they have been installed

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted] The contract clearly states a year roof at an additional charge of $Two separate contractors told us our deteriorating roof was not a year tile, but a year tileWhat happened to the $extra we paid? The entire roof on both structures was replaced last month, after years, because of the poor conditionThat is the reason for our complaint.Regards, [redacted] ***

In response to the above noted complaint I am submitting photos of the customers drivewayAs you will see from the photos the driveway was in terrible shape to begin with The driveway is less than inches thick which is below the required specs for blacktop driveways Additionally with a driveway in that poor shape he should have never requested that the dumpster be placed on his driveway The customer is requesting $ Out of goodwill I will send the customer $for the damage I believe this is more than fair in regards to the condition of his driveway.Sincerely,William JS***President

Mrs [redacted] contacted Sahlem’s Roofing in May of after Dish Network installed her dish incorrectly leaving the old plate on the roofWhen she called us, we explained to her that our busy season had just begun and normally we do not handle repairs unless it is a warranty issueAs a gesture of good will we made an exception for her, since we had just installed her roof last fall, and told her when we had time we would come out and do the repairShe also informed us that she needed to be present when we did the work, which made us unable to just “stop over” and make the repair as we normally do with repairs She contacted us a couple more times during the summer and again we told her due to the extreme winter we had, we were experiencing an increased volume of businessHowever, when things slowed down we would take care of the repair for herAgain, we were under no obligation to do the repair, as I stated, it was a good will gesture on Sahlems part We were shocked when we received the notice from the Revdex.com that she had filed a complaint against us First of all, we were not obligated in any way to repair damage on her roof caused by othersSecondly, we find it upsetting that people can file a complaint with the Revdex.com and there is no type of screening process for dubious complaintsIt takes time to investigate the claim and then more time to respond which causes Sahlem’s Roofing to lose time and moneyIf we continue to receive non-credible complaints we will stop answering complaints all together After receiving this complaint we did pull a crew away from a paying job to make the repair caused by Dish NetworkAn invoice for $plus tax was sent to Mrs*** Sincerely, William JSahlem

To Whom It may Concern: Sahlem's Roofing responded to an emergency call to remove ice and snow from Mr [redacted] ’ s home due to the huge amounts of ice and snow accumulated on his roof during the snow storm this past winter Mr [redacted] is now blaming Sahlem's Roofing for missing shingles from his roofThere is no evidence that our roofers damaged the shingles as they very well may have come off due to the ice, snow and high winds associated with the storm as evidenced by many hundreds of homeowners in this areaWe removed snow from hundreds of homes, many who lost shingles and not one of them has called to blame us for it In addition, Sahlem's will not be taking responsibility for damaging Mr [redacted] ’ s grill as there again is no proof that the damage was caused by Sahlem's Roofing If Mr [redacted] would like to pursue this complaint he will need to contact his attorney and file suit

As a gesture of good will, we will send Mr*** a check for $

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Please review my original complaint and you will see that I left MrS*** at least 8-messages at his office over a period of weeks and I provided my direct cell phone number. All these calls were placed prior to filing a Revdex.com complaint. He never responded to any of these calls even though two separate individuals that answered the phone said they had given him the messages. Furthermore in the original response from S***'s it clearly says that I requested removal of the gutter guards because they were not functioning properly and in the companies response they said that they removed the gutter guards as requestedIn fact on two separate occasions S*** employees came to my house to remove the rear/side gutter guards, which they left on my deck on the first visit. On the second visit they removed the gutter guards from the front of my home and actually took these back to their shopSo I am confused by MrS***'s response that no one could remove these with out his permission? These gutter guards have such small holes that they can not even handle light to moderate rain, as was clearly evident in the videos I sent to the Revdex.com. If I was properly informed prior to installation that these gutter guards allow run over, I would not have wasted the money. In addition it was impossible for me to set up a conversation with S***'s and the manufacturer because MrS*** would not return any of my phone calls and I have no idea who the manufacturer was because none of that information is on my contracts or receipts. I want to state clearly for the record I was polite, courteous and patient for almost months after the initial problems began and I was completely ignored. Again, as I stated in my original complaint I was uncomfortable filing this complaint but I did not know where else to turn as no one from S***'s seemed to want to talk to meNow after weeks of exchanges between the Revdex.com, S***'s and myself, I am somewhat confused that MrS*** states he is late to this conversation? I was not looking for any special treatment but as a repeat customer I was certainly expecting to be treated with common courtesy

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I had previously accepted MrSahlem's response of only paying for time and materials for the shingle repair and I will not go back on my commitment to do so However I ask that Mr Sahlem please speak with his employee who did the repair today to confirm the following before deciding on my invoice amount The repair person called me today to say that there was only about missing shingles but there were an additional dozen or so that were gouged or cut and asked asked if I wanted those replaced as well He said it looked like I had snow removed and who ever did it had damaged them when they were chopping with a pic or shovel I told him that I appreciated him calling and asked that he repair those as well My intention here is not to go back on my word in agreeing to MrSahlem's proposal but rather to point out that unlike his first response saying that it could not have been damaged by the snow removal, it is very possible, and actually probable that it was Regards,

As the complaint states Mr*** called us in April regarding a roof we did in I am not sure who he spoke to but unfortunately we do not have records from that long agoOur workmanship warranty back then was -years and the shingle warranties vary for different manufacturer'sIf
he indeed bought an extended warranty he should have the paperwork and he needs to contact the manufacturer
Sincerely,
Sahlem's Roofing

Regarding the above noted complaint, first no S***’s employee has the authority to remove anything that has been installed without my approval. I was brought into this conversation at a much later date. All contact should go through the office and not directed to an individual employeeIf the gutter guard is not working properly it needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. The customer should have notified us to schedule a meeting with the manufacturer to discuss the issue. Most gutter guard systems do have some type of blow by with heavy rains. At this point and time S***’s will not be issuing a refund. Sincerely,William JS***

[redacted] signed a contract on August 25th,
2015 for work to be completed on a commercial building she owns due to some
leaking.  No guarantees are ever given as
to when a job can be completed as we have so many factors, including the
weather we must contend with.  Due to...

the
storm we had last year we have been inundated with work and were running 4 to 8
weeks out on most work.  At no time did
anyone promise to have the work completed in two weeks.  Mr. [redacted]’s job was listed like every other
job and we told her repeatedly we would call her when we were ready to
proceed.  Ms. [redacted] began calling our office every day, harassing our
staff even when they were unable to give her an answer.  She even called one of our employees on Thanksgiving
Day, which is totally inappropriate.  We spoke to the other parties involved and we feel it is in
the best interest of all parties that Ms. [redacted] finds someone else to do the
repair. William J. Sahlem

In response to the claim made by the above noted customer, the gutter guards he purchased all have somewhat of a water by- pass due to the fact they are blocking the leaves, etc. from getting in the gutters.   This is expected and normal.   When the customer called the...

In reply to Mr. [redacted]’ s latest response to the complaint; when Mr. [redacted] first called his initial complaint was missing shingles, not scraped or gouged shingles. It could very well be that the some shingles were scraped or gouged while shoveling snow.
When Sahlem’s responds to an emergency call to help customers remove snow from their roofs to avoid leaking and a possible collapsed roof, we respond as quickly as we can and as efficiently as we can. We cannot guarantee that shingles may or may not get damaged as they shovel the roof. Our roofers are experienced in this type of work but sometimes damage can happen. That is why Mr. Sahlem waived the $175.00 service charge and is only charging Mr. [redacted] for time and material.

The contract clearly states a 25 year roof at an additional charge of $85. Two separate contractors told us our deteriorating roof was not a 25 year tile, but a 20 year tile. What happened to the $85 extra we paid? The entire roof on both structures was replaced last month, after 19 years, because of the poor condition. That is the reason for our complaint.Regards, [redacted]

After paying $1200 I would expect that they would come out and at least look at the damage ot at least return my phone call.  That is the minimal customer service.  But instead they respond that I need to sue them instead? Unbelievable.  They got my business after the October storm and replaced a gutter for me.  No problems. I fact when I set the check to them I included a note to say how great their service was.  Then after paying $1200 to remove snow they wont even come out and look at the damage or even return my calls.  That is just not right.  Just because none else complained how came they assume they didn't damage the roof without even looking at it?

[redacted]

In response to the above noted complaint I am submitting photos of the customers driveway. As you will see from the photos the driveway was in terrible shape to begin with.  The driveway is less than 2 inches thick which is below the required specs for blacktop driveways. ...

Additionally with a driveway in that poor shape he should have never requested that the dumpster be placed on his driveway.  The customer is requesting $600.00.  Out of goodwill I will send the customer $200.00 for the damage.  I believe this is more than fair in regards to the condition of his driveway.Sincerely,William J. Mrs. [redacted] contacted Sahlem’s Roofing in May of 2015 after Dish Network installed her dish incorrectly leaving the old plate on the roof. She contacted us a couple more times during the summer and again we told her due to the extreme winter we had, we were experiencing an increased volume of business. However, when things slowed down we would take care of the repair for her. Again, we were under no obligation to do the repair, as I stated, it was a good will gesture on Sahlems part.
We were shocked when we received the notice from the Revdex.com that she had filed a complaint against us.
First of all, we were not obligated in any way to repair damage on her roof caused by others. Secondly, we find it upsetting that people can file a complaint with the Revdex.com and there is no type of screening process for dubious complaints. It takes time to investigate the claim and then more time to respond which causes Sahlem’s Roofing to lose time and money. If we continue to receive non-credible complaints we will stop answering complaints all together.
After receiving this complaint we did pull a crew away from a paying job to make the repair caused by Dish Network. An invoice for $400.00 plus tax was sent to Mrs. [redacted].
Sincerely,
William J. Sahlem
