Tell us why here...

Mr. [redacted] purchased a used truck with 112,000 miles. We have made all repairs requested at no charge to him, including a tire sensor not listed. We have done everything the customer has requested. This sale is final.

salazars sent me a pokemoney scratch it card like a lot of consumers got in the mail I scratched it and it shows I won a 55 in TV but walked out with a $5 Target gift card. I still have card an am showing it to all my friends and work associates so see how deceiving it is to customers. the date of the scam was oct.25 thur oct 30 // 2016

General Manager, Della A[redacted] just called Mr. [redacted] and had to leave him a message. (###-###-####). According to the sales department, he did not come in to the Dealership this past weekend. He can call or come in to the Dealership tomorrow morning between 10-12am and speak directly to her.

Mr. [redacted] original complaint has been completed to the satisfaction of the [redacted] AND Mr [redacted] back in April 2014.  His response has nothing to do with the original complaint. We have closed this issue and will not respond further.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

Regards,

[redacted] The maintenance service warrantee deemed especially egregious, immediately after our vehicle is paid for, my son has gone there several times to have the vehicle service and he discovereed some problems afterward, that the Aveo was not function as it suppose to be after the pay-off....And he staled somewhere in Mesa and have it towed to one of the garage there and get it fix which cause lots of monies, and not only that, it was almost simultaneously another thing went wrong with the Aveo, The (A/C) went out immediately after it was paid for in January 2014. It concernes me big time, why? and how come car problem happen and occurred simultaneously! Which meant, the service was not providing accordingly, but faking everytime they worked on it. Just for your information wise, after this Aveo was py-off and problems started to show accordingly to sy service had been performed to this vehicle ultimately.

Better...

Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. I have also not gotten one call or message from anybody. I was down at the Salazar over the weekend and they were extremely rude to me and would not help me so I then left.

Regards,

We regret that Mr [redacted] feels that our advertisement is deceptive. We have sent out over a half million of these flyers and have only received 3 complaints. The flyer plainly states that you must compare your number to the number in the showroom to determine what you have won. During this...

cycle one of our customers has won an I pad, what truly is a shame that in phoenix there is a winning ticket for $50000 in someones trash.

Review: They sent out a mailer prize contest, I won the contest for $5000 upon attempting to collect they informed me it was a fake they had no intention of honoring the contest.Desired Settlement: I want the $5000 I won according to the contest.

Review: On 10/30/2012, I purchased a 36 Mo/36,000 mile warrant on a 2005 Kia Spectra from Salazar Kia aka Salazar Used cars. The vehicle broke down/overheated with several thousand miles still under warranty and 20 months. The contract covered the engine & cooling system. The vehicle was well maintained during the time we had it. When I called to set up repairs, I learned that the dealership had submitted and paid for a 24 Mo/24,000 mile warranty and because of that ( mileage), the carrier of the contract told us that it had expired. The dealership attempted to fix the problem but the car broke down again. I should note that the cost for the 36/36000 warranty was $2500.00 which was averaged in our monthly payment. We have not been notified of a payment adjustment to reflect 24/24000 since the first payment in 12/2012 to the present?? Many efforts have been made to contact the dealership since the vehicle broke down again on 07/03/14 with no positive results. The mileage is still under the 36/36000 warranty. The reason for purchasing a warranty is for a licensed appraiser to determine if the vehicle is repairable or a loss. That's not an action the dealership should make.Desired Settlement: This vehicle needs to be repaired correctly after inspection by a certified appraiser or determined to be not worth repairing. An explanation for charging me $2500.00 on a 24 MO/24000 mile warranty when my contract shows 36 Mo/36000 also needs an explanation and adjustment.

Review: The sales contract was not explained to me & my wife, we were told to initial & sign it & as a result the extended warranty was added on without our knowledge & a week later I requested that the extended warranty be cancelled & was given a "PRODUCT CANCELLATION REQUEST FORM' to fill out myself with no help from any salesperson and as a result of no help in filling this out, the refund went to the lienholder instead of going to me. Not one salesperson explained the difference to me while I was filling out this form. When I asked about the other or second set of keys for the new car, the general manager told me in certain derogatory words that I was not getting a "FREE KEY". He also stated that if I wanted another set of keys, that I would have to pay the dealer cost of $250.00. I declined because I turned in two sets of keys with my trade-in, but could not get two sets of keys with the car that we had just purchased. The buying of this car took well over 3 hours & we had to deal with 4 different people who we did not know. This was the worst car buying experience in the world. I tried to call the owner, but was given bogus phone numbers.Desired Settlement: I would like the dealership to issue me the second set of keys to me without any cost to me. I would like to discuss with the owner, [redacted], about the cost of the extended warranty being sent to the lien-holder instead of me & also the way my wife & myself were treated at the dealership.

Response:

I have enclosed several documents that disclose the purchase of the Service Contract and the Gap purchased by [redacted]:

• Finance Contract

• Buyers Order

• [redacted]

• Product Acceptance/Declination

The purpose of all the documents is to disclose to the customer what they are buying. Service Contract cancellation was received on May 1, 2014 and a check issued to the lienholder on June 10, 2014. Because the product was part of the loan secured with [redacted], they receive the proceeds and apply it to the principal loan balance.

[redacted] cancellation was received on July 24, 2014. [redacted] provided documentation the lien had been refinanced. The check was issued to [redacted] on October 3, 2014. The form states the process can take 6 to 8 weeks.

We do not guarantee two sets of keys with the purchase of a used car. If we receive the vehicle with two sets of keys, we will pass those on to the new buyer. If only one set is received, the buyer will only receive one.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:

Mr. [redacted] filled out our cancellation paperwork on January 29, 2014. It was faxed to the [redacted] company on February 7, 2014. They issued a check to us on February 12, 2014 and we in tum issued Mr. [redacted] a check on March 11, 2014 . At the bottom of our cancellation form it states to please allow 6 to 8 weeks to process.

He only received money for the [redacted] policy . He was over on mileage on the service warranty policy. The policy he purchased was for 36 months or 30,000 miles. At the tine of the purchase he had 52,243 miles and when he cancelled he had 97,695 miles. That is 45,452 miles.

Ihave attached copies of all the documentation.

Review: Purchased an 08 [redacted]. And from the first day it's been nothing but problems. First day engine light comes on was told o2 sensor was bad. Bring it in for repairs to fine out that the ECM was shorted out. Now I'm out of a vehicle for a week. I get the vehicle back everything is great. 2 weeks later engine light back on. This vehicle has an aftermarket catalyst and [redacted] told them that the catalyst is bad and needs to be changed and nothing was done. Now I have this vehicle 4 weeks and all I have is problems with it. They won't cover the cost of the catalyst and not only that that car has a bad right front wheel bearing and right front outer axle boot. From what I was told at [redacted] this car shouldn't have passed state inspection. This vehicle was not inspected before putting on the lot to sell. Now to find out what I could do to resolve this problem.Desired Settlement: Would like for them to make all repairs on the vehicle at [redacted]. It's 1300 for all repairs to be made before labor.

Review: When I cosigned the vehicle I made the salesman and the sales manager aware that I did not have a drivers license and that I would not have a drivers license any time soon because I owed 5,000 dollars in traffic tickets they assured me that that wasnt a problem yet when it came time to get tags for the car MVD told me that unless the five thousand dollars were payed we couldnt get tags because my name was on the tittle and that they couldnt understand how salazar kia obtained tags in the first place and that the car should have never been tagged and now im being charged for a car that no one can drive and ofcourse the people that financed dontcare they just want theyr money and salazar kia wont claim any responsability on the matterDesired Settlement: I would like for salazar kia to take the car off of my credit

Review: I purchased a 2008 Dodge Ram truck from Salazar Used Cars on February 12, 2016. We were told when purchasing the truck that a full inspection had been conducted and that the vehicle was in excellent working condition. In less than 48 hours of having the vehicle the tire pressure warning light turned on, check engine warning light turned on, and oil was leaking from the bottom of the vehicle. I have now had the truck for six days, three of which it has been back at the dealership to be repaired. When taking the vehicle back into the dealership for the first time, we were told that the engine was fixed and that the oil leak was due to the oil plug not being properly fastened in. The service report showed that the mileage was 112,729 before and after it was serviced -- nothing showed an indication of the miles driven on the “test drive.” We had not left the parking lot before the check engine warning light turned back on. We went back inside and advised the manager of this. We were asked to leave the vehicle overnight to be serviced. After being serviced for a second time, and being told that the truck was taken for another "test drive," the vehicle now shakes when being driven, and there are more than 140 miles unaccounted for on the paperwork. Since I only had the vehicle for four days before I noticed the discrepancy in the mileage, two of which the vehicle was at the dealership, it is peculiar how more than 400 miles have been put on it since I bought it. After all of the issues and misrepresentation, I want a full refund. When I said this to the manager of Salazar Used Cars he chuckled and stated “well it doesn’t work like, kid." He said that he would not be able to refund the money since it has already been funded, and that he can’t return all vehicles due to buyer’s remorse. I told him the reason I was returning the vehicle was not because of buyer’s remorse, but because I was knowingly sold an unsafe vehicle that is already in need of major repairs.Desired Settlement: I believe that Salazar Used Cars needs to refund the entire $11,202.42 to my wife and I due to the product being misrepresented when we purchased it.

Review: I leased a car from this company 3 weeks ago and used my car as a trade. They advised me a few days after leasing the car they need a paycheck stub. I send one to the sales man by text and heard nothing until a week later from the finance man. He advises he never got the text picture of my paycheck stub and requests for me to send it to him. I send it and then a few days later he says the bank is requiring a 40 hour pay check stub. I advised him I have not been able to work a full 40 hours due to unforeseen circumstances. He asks if he can call my employer to verify that I am scheduled for 40 hours and I advised that was perfect. Now they are saying the bank will not call my employer and I have to bring the car back to the dealership. All the while, they sold my car and are attempting to get it back. I was also told when finishing the leasing paperwork that they would pay off my title loan, which I had advised them of when I first walked in the door. They have yet to pay the title loan company and I fear that even if they do get my car back, the title loan will attempt to repossess my car for failure to pay. I will not ever recommend this company to anyone for their lack of follow up and leasing me a car that was never really mine to begin with.Desired Settlement: I would like to have another vehicle offered to me from their lot if they cannot locate my vehicle. I want it at a fair price as well for all the stress and lack of communication on their part.

Response:

Unfortunately Ms [redacted] could not provide the information required by the Finance Company to fund her loan for the car. She drove the vehicle at no charge during this process. Her vehicle was returned to her.

Review: I just purchased a used 2006 volvo xc90 and I am very happy with it. But when I drove off the lot with it, it had a busted tail light lense and the tail light, brake light, and back up light bulb were all dead. I was told by the fianace guy that I could come back and it would be taken care of. Came back a couple days later and I only got the run around from the salesmens and was told just to put red tape over it. I already replaced the bulbs myself because the salesman said they didnt have any in the shop and me being the customer, I did not want to get a ticket. The GM never returned my car about the tail light after I left him a message either. Also when I test drove the car before I bought it, I told the salesman that the car needed an alignment. Salesman said it would be taken care of. Came the next day to get the car and it was not taken care of when I drove off the lot. Called again amd asked and I was told that since I didnt buy a warranty that nothing with be replaced or fixed. I tried to get the alignment done andpay for it out of my pocket but I now have to buy $300 worth in control arms before I can get alignment. When I went to get the alignment I noticed there was a good size oil leak somewhere underneath the car. I called the shop manager and she told me that for that old of a car with 100k on it, its bound to have leaks and that she knew this carhad leaks somewhere before I bought it and drove off the lot with it. When I asked for the car fax before I bought the car, they didnt give me the right paperwork, just some paperwork that showed previous owners. And not once did the salesman mention to me that there was an oil leak or a busted tail light on the car when I purchased it. I just want these problems taken care of. If I would of known the car had these problems, I would of picked a different one. I dont think they do a very good job at inspecting their cars before they sell them. These problems should have been taken care of before I drove off the lot, but the sales men knew I really needed the car. I would have been fine coming in evety day of the week for them to fix and replace things.Desired Settlement: Tail light lense and light harness replaced. Alignment done with lower control arms replaced(cant do an alignment if they are not replaced) and have the oil leak checked and if needed to be fixed, then to have it fixed.

Business

Response:

If the problem still exists, Ms [redacted] can bring the vehicle to our dealership and we will have our technician look at it. She can contact [redacted], General Manager ###-###-####. We stress this is a 100,000 mile car and vehicles are sold “as is”.

Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]I have been down to the dealership 3 times within the 15 day lemon law requirement, called and talked to the salesmans, and general manager, and shop manager numerous times and they all told me that just because the car is old, it's normal to have an oil leak. Well its spitting out oil and I'm the one dumping money into it along with my monthly payment. I think it's wrong that NO ONE told me that it had a major rear main seal oil leak before I bought it so I don't have to save up $1200 to get it fixed! And with the tail light lense broken, it shorted out the wire harness. If I wasn't so smart to go buy red tapepper so I don't get a ticket, I'm sure I'd have a ticket for the busted lense that I was told by the salesman and fiance guy that the light would be taken care of. And I just kept getting the run around. Oh its not mentioned in the paperwork when you bought the car, and another famous runaround...oh the gm is not here right now, come back another day! The car is nice but engine wise...it's not..since having the car, I've already dumped $1500 into it! I've already fixed the problems that pertain to the alignment that was never taken care of. Now I need to replace the back rotors and pads because they are shot (which they sold it to me that way, with me being pregnant at the time and have a toddler that rides in the car). Out of all the stress, discouragement, and problems...I just want the major oil leak to be fixed (which involves dropping the tray and engine to replace the $20 seal) and the wire harness and taIL light lense to be replaced. That's all I ever wanted from this dealership and I got nothing but stress and put myself in bad health and caused me to go into preterm labor. It just sucks they take advantage of people. I traded in a car that was almost 20 years old and the only thing that was wrong with it was it needed an idler sensor. And this car isnt even 10 years old and it has more problems.

Response:

[redacted] has not contacted me. I am not committing to fix anything until I look at the vehicle. She also declined the opportunity to purchase a Vehicle Service Contract (copy attached)[redacted]General ManagerSalazar Used Cars

The service at this dealership is horrible, the sales rep had no knowledge about anything, financially nor about the simple functions of the vehicles. The vehicles are dented, have cracked windshields and flat tires and their prices dont reflect that! They also ran my credit score after I specifically told them not too if it would be a hard inquiry. They assured me it wouldn't be. The next day I get a notification on my credit report showing the hard inquiry. Manipulative and dishonest reps!

Review: I bought a used car from salazar used cars in September 2013 with a full warranty in case something should happen my warranty would cover cost of repair and they would fix it. I had the car for 2 months and my car becomes a headache. First, my radiator dies and I take it back to them with my full warranty to have it fix. Its denied yet after complaining about the issue they said I could pay half and then they'll fix it. I needed my car for work. So I give in. 7 months later my engine breaks. I take the car in with my full warranty to salazar to have it repaired and they said there's not enough proof that its there fault the engines bad. They reject fixing it and I still have to pay $185 bucks to have them put the engine back together so I can have it towed back home. Before I even took it in to have the warranty people look over the car the mechanic told me they wont approve it because this issue happiness alot to other peoples cars and the warranty people always denies paying for repairs because they don't want it coming out of there pocket. So why even have the full warranty if its no use to me! I payed extra for it! So now I have a busted car sitting in the drive way collecting dirt and dust and I still have to pay monthly $260 payments each month for it. I feel like such a sucker. I went there in good faith to purchase a car for work and all I got was 10 thousand doller garbage because they don't want to take responsibility and fix it.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix or give me the money to fix my car so it is fully operational again. I also want them to pay for any repairs it has sustained sitting out side collecting dust for 2 months. I want my car drivable again and they need to pay for everything that is wrong with this lemon car. I need my car to run as good as new.

Response:

Ms [redacted] purchased a used car “as is” on 9/15/13. She returned 2 months later with a radiator problem the warranty would not cover the repair. We contributed 50% to the repairs as a good will gesture. Seven months later, she returned with an engine problem. The warranty company stated it was due to customer neglect and would not cover it. We attempted to assist her with her repairs, unfortunately there is not much we can do if the warranty does not cover them and she doesn’t want to pay for them. We feel we have gone above and beyond our obligation as it pertains to the purchase of an “as is” used car.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It was not my fault as to why the engine was broken and the head mechanic there [redacted] told me they always reject everyone's warranty they never fix anything. She even argued with the warranty place for my behalf which was very nice of her. She suggested that I cancel my warranty because its no good. Im not the first person for them to reject and not the last. Also as for the radiator 50% they wacked off I had to argue with the maneger about fixing it because I was not going to pay the full amount. This company is awful and swindle people. In order to get my car engine fixed they wanted 2000 dollars. Didn't even have this car for a year and I had to dish out that amount of cash? I've known people that have bought used cars and never had a headache like this. I will let everyone know not to go to this lying evil company so they don't end up like me.

Regards,

Business

Response:

We have offered to help Ms [redacted] but her failure to accept she caused the problems makes it impossible for us to help. To infer that we swindled her is unfair. If you own a car for a year and dont take care of it, a $2,000 bill would not be our of the realm of realistic.[redacted]General Manager Salazar Used Cars
