Review: I have a bill from 10/21/2013 showing the furnace to be in #1 conditionmeaning best. The problems was never corrected as the furnace did the same after as before he did his work. Now the work on 04/07/2014 shows the furnace to have a cracked heat exchanger and new oil pump is needed. The technician did not do his due diligence on 10/21 or the cracked heat exchanger(5 to 6 cracks) would of have been noticed. With that being said we have been exposed to carbon monoxide and faced the risk of a catastrophic fire. I have medical bills from UPMC from July 2013 with the doctor asking how old my furnace was.I have 2 years from that date to file a lawsuit. The monies paid on 10/21 need to be refunded and the bill on 04/07 voided. The furnace has only used 750 -800 gallons of oil since it was purchased. Now an average family uses that much oil in one year which in turn shows the furnace to be defected. Was the heat exchanger cracked from improper work done by the technician on 10/21 since he stated it was #1 condition? The furnace (evidence) now in my home needs to be replaced as the facts clearly show a malfunctioning heat exchanger. The diagnostics work proves that.Desired Settlement: Monies refunded for furnace and improper wok and diagnostics on 10/21/2013

Review: My furnace has been shutting off this winter but comes back on if switch turned off then on again. I decided to get it checked out and on the service call day the furnace was working fine. The repair man after less than 15 minutes told me my 2004 furnace had a cracked heat something and the entire furnace needed replaced. When I said I would be getting multiple estimates he said he could not turn my furnace back on by law because of safety concerns.I had another company come to check out my furnace and the serviceman said 15 minutes did it give him enough time to look at that part to see if it was cracked and if the furnace is dangerous paperwork and a tag must be placed on the furnace.I was charged the $89 for this bogus service call that was an attempt to get me to replace a perfectly good furnace that most likely shut off because of snow ice build up around outside air return pipes.Desired Settlement: I want my $89 returned

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: I contacted One Hour to look at my A/C unit. The service tech came to the house and didn't even open up the unit to inspect. We both visibly saw oil leaking from the unit from the exterior. The service tech then informed me how expensive it was to try to find the leak and that we would be better off replacing the unit. The service tech then contacted someone from sales to come to our house and sell us a unit. For his great investigative work, we were still charged the $159.00 service fee. When the salesman came to our home, he informed us that they would also need to replace our furnace because it would not be compatible with a new A/C unit. He then quoted us at $7,200, discounting unsatisfactory service. A few days later, he called me and said that after speaking to his boss, he could drop the price down to $6,279. In the interim, I contacted another independent HVAC agency. His service was exceptional and was able to find the leak within 30 seconds of opening the unit. In essense, he actually tried to find the leak, which was caused by 2 copper pipes rubbing together. Additionally, he said that when the A/C unit actually fails or becomes too costly to repair, he would install one and would not need to change our furnace. I have used One Hour's service twice now out of after-hours necessity. The first occurence, in 2014, I later discovered a 2400% mark-up on an $8.00 part. Again, I contacted them recently, out of after-hours necessity and was hoping to catch any quoted part prices and negiotiate. However, this latest tactic was low, much lower than outrageous mark-ups.Desired Settlement: I am not your typical disatisfied customer, although it would be nice to recoup the $159.00 for the service call, which amounted in them trying to rip us off further. My ideal resolution would be sanctions and oversight against this company and their operating practices. It is extremely unethical to prey on the unaware, when you your company has the knowledge to help people. I do hope that there is some investigation into the satisfaction levels of all consumers.
