Bureau. Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns. We investigated your account and determined the final payoff amount was correct. Please note that you signed a financing contract that computes interest using a Simple Interest calculation. Your payment of $915.00, posted November 1, 2017, reduced the balance by $893.81, leaving a remaining balance. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. As a courtesy, we have waived the remaining balance and closed your account. At this time, we consider your account closed as paid in full. If you have any further questions concerning this matter, please feel free to contact a customer service representative at [redacted], or by email at www.ucfs.net. Sincerely, Karole D[redacted] Compliance Auditor

8/22/2016 Mr. [redacted] RE: United Consumer Financial Services (UCFS) Account No. [redacted]      Revdex.com complaint No. [redacted] Dear Mr. Friend: We received your Revdex.com complaint. Thank you for bringing this issue...

to our attention so we may properly assist you. After our investigation, we determined that your account was improperly assessed a processing fee by our third-party payment processing vendor. Ordinarily, consumers setting up recurring payments are charged a $3.00 processing fee at the onset of their recurring payment schedule. Your account was charged a $3.00 processing fee on September 1, 2015, well into your recurring payment schedule. As a result of this improper processing fee, your September 1, 2015 payment was not sufficient to cover the balance due for September 2015. We unfortunately did not realize the error and credit rated your account as derogatory. Please accept my apology on behalf of our company for the error. We were made aware of this issue on or around May 12, 2016 after speaking with you. At that time, we made a request to the consumer reporting agencies to remove all derogatory ratings on your account. To date, the consumer reporting agencies have not updated the correct status of your account with us. We have sent another request to each credit reporting agency to which we credit reported your account. We will continue to monitor your account and its rated status until which time it is correctly reported to each credit reporting agency. We again sincerely apologize for the harm and frustration this error has caused you. We will take steps to address this matter with our third-party processing vendor to ensure this mistake does not occur again in the future. Your account is closed as paid in full. If you have any further questions, or if I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me at 1-800-344-5000, extension 6115. Cheryl B[redacted] Compliance Department

the opportunity to address your concerns According to our records, you signed a retail installment sales contract (the "Agreement") for the purchase of a consumer product on May 31, 2017. We verified the terms with you. The Agreement was between you and the independent merchant who sold you the consumer product. We purchased the Agreement, thereby financing this transaction. We understand you are alleging you cancelled the Agreement. Under the terms of the Agreement, you had three business days to send in a signed cancellation notice to the address listed in the cancellation notice section of the Agreement. Accordingly, you had until midnight of June 3, 2017 to send in written notice of your intent to cancel the Agreement. We appreciate that you now regret your purchase. Unfortunately, you must still honor your obligation to us under the Agreement. We encourage you to contact the independent merchant for the issue you are having with the shampooer or any service related problems with the product at:  [redacted]

a payment of $3,265.00 posted to your account on April I I, 2017. An electronic funds transfer was in the process of transmission and posted to your account on April 12, 2017. These combined payments closed your account as paid in full with a refund. A refund of the overpayment on your account will be processed May 5, 2017. A refund is generally issued approximately 30 days from the date a payment is posted to an account. This normal business practice allows sufficient time for any stopped or reversed payments to be adjusted on the account. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. if you have any further questions concerning this matter, please feel free to contact a customer service representative at [redacted], or by email at [redacted]. Sincerely, Karole D[redacted] United Consumer Financial Services

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]I disagree with their response. I feel that I have been over charged. I purchased a vacuum cleaner at $1500 and have since paid $1,463.32. The remaining balance should be $36.68 plus interest of $539.76. I am paying the payment earlier so I believe the interest should be $209.86 for a total balance of $246.54. So I am being over charged $106.22 more.

UNITED CONSUMER FINANCIAL SERVICES COMPANY 865 Bassett Road Westlake, Ohio 44145 (440) 835-3230 Ms. [redacted] March 15, 2016 Re: United Consumer Financial Services Account # [redacted] Revdex.com Complaint ID # [redacted] Dear Ms....

[redacted]: I am in receipt of the Complaint you filed with the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) regarding your account with United Consumer FinancialServices (UCFS). On August 22, 2015, you signed a retail installment sales contract (the "Agreement"), under which you agreed to an amount financed of $2,777.72 and to make 36 monthly payments of $109.84 each; with a finance charge of $1,176.52, the total you would have paid under the Agreement if paid to maturity would have been $3,954.24. According to the terms of the Agreement, payments were to begin November 23, 2015. However, the Agreement does state that the Agreement is subject to a six-month deferred first payment. We believe this is a typographical error. We apologize for the error. As a courtesy to you, we have converted your account with us to a six-month deferred first payment account. Because you recently paid off your account, we recalculated your account to configure the payoff amount as of the day you actually paid your account in full—February 26, 2016. As a six-month deferred first payment account, the payoff amount as of February 26, 2016 would have been higher than the amount you paid to pay your account in full. As a show of good faith, we are going to honor the February 26, 2016 payment as payment in full of your account with us. Your account with UCFS is closed with a zero balance and you owe no further obligation to us. If you have any questions for us, please contact us at 1-800-344-5000. Sincerely, Timothy K. S[redacted] Director of Compliance

you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns regarding your purchase of a product from an independent merchant. According to our records, you signed a retail installment sales contract (the "Agreement) for the purchase of the consumer product on April 6, 2017. We verified the terms of the Agreement with you. The Agreement was between you and the independent merchant who sold you the consumer product. We purchased the Agreement, thereby financing this transaction. A copy of the Agreement is enclosed. During verification, you did not mention an unfulfilled sales promise regarding the merchandise. The Agreement does not reflect any sales promise to deliver a replacement product. Nonetheless, we contacted the merchant, on your behalf, and the merchant agreed to deliver you a new product. On September 7, 2017, you informed us you would not accept delivery of the new product. UCFS is unable to accept your request to cancel your Agreement at this time because your cancellation period has past. We encourage you to contact the merchant to arrange delivery or pick up of a replacement product. If you have any further questions concerning this matter, please feel free to contact me at [redacted] extension 5015 or email [redacted] Sincerely, Karole D[redacted] Compliance Auditor Enclosure

added additional charges to your final payment. After careful review of the payment history (see enclosed), it appears that on three occasions 10/13/12, 04/11/13 and 12/22/14, payments in the amount of $30.43 were submitted instead of your contractual payment of $37.43.  The difference of those payments ($21.00) plus a late fee ($10.00) totaled $31.00 which you submitted as final payment on 02/09/15.  The final payment was actually due on 12/19/14 but not received until 02/09/15 resulting in a 30 day delinquency being reported on your credit file.  This letter is being sent to advise you that on February 16, 2015 UCFS submitted an electronic request for the deletion of the 30 day delinquency being reported on January 31, 2015, although it is an accurate rating.  Please allow up to 60 days for the credit reporting agencies to update their files.  I can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm Eastern at 1-800-344-5000 ext. respond to your concerns regarding your purchase.  According to our recordss, on April 22, 2011, you requested an advance of your due date from April 24, 2011 to May 1, 2011. As a courtesy to you, we agreed to advance the due date of your payment and adjust your account accordingly. ordinarily, our system would adjust your account terms so that your maturity date—the date on which your last payment under your obligation would be paid—would adjust in accordance with the new due date. Here, our system failed to properly advance the maturity date when your payment due date was advanced. As a result, when your account was not paid in full on the original maturity date. our system incorrectly concluded that you were delinquent on your payments. We have investigated the matter and conclude that a system error on our end caused the issue you are observing. To remedy this matter, we will remove any negative credit reporting on your account, report your account as paid in full, and close your account with a zero balance. You will owe us no further financial obligation. I apologize for the system error and hope this resolution sufficiently addresses your concerns. If you have any further questions concerning this matter, please feel free to contact a customer service representative at [redacted], or by email at www.ucfs.net. Sincerely, Karole [redacted] Compliance Auditor

our attention so we may properly assist you. According to our records, you signed a retail installment sales contract (the “Agreement”) on November 9, 2015 in order to obtain financing for the purchase of a consumer product from an independent merchant. Under the terms of the Agreement, you are obligated to make 30 monthly payments in the amount of $76.33. I understand you attempted to cancel the Agreement. Under the terms of the Agreement, you have three days to send in a signed cancellation notice to the address listed in the cancellation notice section of the Agreement. The manufacturer of your consumer product also makes available to some consumers an additional cancellation provision. Unfortunately, a consumer qualifying for this additional cancelation provision who wishes to take advantage of it must contact the manufacturer’s consumer relationships department within the time provided for in the additional cancellation provision. The owner’s manual you received with your consumer product specifies this information and provides all necessary instructions. Because you are beyond the time within which you may have been able to cancel the Agreement, we are unable to honor your request to cancel the Agreement.
