I strongly recommend Encore Sounds for both your wedding ceremony and receptionDave R [redacted] is the ultimate professionalHe spent several hours working on the playlist for both our wedding ceremony and receptionWe asked him to make changes several times and he gladly accomodated every one of our requestsHe checked with us several times during the reception to make sure he was playing what we wanted or if there was anything else he could be doing His fee was reasonable and he gave us a 10% discount when we signed with him and another discount a month laterI was extremely satisfied with his performance

Reserved and paid in full for a photo booth in the beginning of june for my daughters graduation party on july 15th encore sounds was a no show didn't call, didnt email just didnt show up, they wiil not return my calls only will communicate through email, the first contact with them he said how sorry he is and wanted to apologize more than just through text said he was going to call when he had better cell service later that day, never called , ive called and text numerous times no answer just emais with empty promises, the last email I sent was replied with a email saying they were closed on Mondays and TuesdaysI wish I would have done my research before hand because there are several complaints like mine on different sites, DO NOT RENT OFF THIS GUY DAVE R [redacted] talks a big game on the phone about how great his business but what type of business just doesn't show up with out an explanation

This company has experienced a hardship because their building was involved in an office fire and lost majority of their DJ equipmentHowever, I contacted Dave R [redacted] in July (after the fire occured) asking to change my contract from DJ & Photobooth services to just DJ on a new date and new locationDave informed me that because of the switch, I would be entitled to a refund of $and he would initiate the refund and update my contract to reflect the accurate date and locationA few weeks passed and I never received the refund or the updated contractMonths of trying to contact Dave had now passed and I started checking his Facebook, Thumbtack site, and Website to see a lot of customer complaining about not being able to get in contact with this company and even this company not showing up for the services they had paid forI started to get worried, but wanted to be flexible because of their current situation and because my event is not scheduled until May I checke

I highly recommend Encore Sounds Dave and his crew were professional, accommodating, friendly, and SO MUCH FUN! We had Dave DJ and provide karaoke for our kids during their After Prom at [redacted] Rec Center The kids LOVED singing and dancing all night long!

Dave did an excellent job for our company holiday party! We would recommend him to anyone! Great guy, communication and very affordable!

Encore Sound cancelled the prepaid photo booth right before my daughters wedding I prepaid in May - the wedding was *** Encore Sound keeps saying they will refund my money in 2-days and its already 7/and no response They lied about preparing the booth days prior to the wedding and then outsourced it instead of taking responsibility for supplying the photo booth

Amazing DJ He did not take over the wedding, he complimented it, just what you want a DJ to do!

Performed a service of providing music and entertainment at a wedding, when I tried to cash the check, I was told it could not be cashed due to the account holder closing the accountI called the company to tell them how the service went and had to leave a messageHave not received any return calls, I called again to confirm reason for non-payment and again have not received a call back or any contact from the company

Hired Encore Sounds for photo booth services for a family reunion Encore Sounds was a no show - despite assurances a few days before the event that they would be there Notified me day of event via email rather then telephone that they would not be there Will not return voice or email messages and have not issued a refund BEWARE!!!

We booked and paid, in full for Dave Ruffo of Encore Sounds LLC to provide us with our DJ entertainment for our wedding on September 30thHe came by high recommendations from our event coordinator, other wedding vendors and his reviews and ratings (WeddingWire/Revdex.com)His service has been booked since November! Being a trusted business for quite some time, we felt like this was a very good option so we went ahead with the bookingEverything was great, until last night (9/21)We had gotten a phone call from a family friend who is a trusted photographer in the Cleveland areaShe let us know that Dave has been flaking out on his appointment with clients and not even showing up to weddings he has scheduledWe could not believe itAfter doing research, this is where the problem began! Dave with Encore Sounds did my wedding a month ago and is truly exceptional! He was such a pleasure to work with, accommodating, professional, and kept my guests excited the whole night! From beginning to end, Dave was there to help with our wedding in every aspect neededWe also had a photo-booth through Encore Sounds and it was well worth itThe guests loved it and had so much fun! Dave even put together a printed memory book of all the photos and mailed it to us after the wedding! We can't say enough about how awesome Encore Sounds is!

We were to have a meeting with Dave week prior to our wedding on Sept 16th He said by email he was free the entire week and that was the last we heard from himNo return emails just automatic response and no return phone callsIt has been weeks and we would like a full refund but can not contact him

We contacted and contracted with Encore Sounds to provide DJ Services in early for a wedding scheduled in September These services were to include dance DJ, Dance floor, and photo boothIn an effort to get ahead of the many costs associated with a wedding we did are best to provide full payment prior to the event and did so well in advanceWe later determined that a dance floor would not be required due to our venueWe were told this would be refunded
We we additionally informed months prior to our wedding that the company had experienced a fire, but was making arrangements for future events, we would be notified if there were any issues with our dateWe were not
As we approached our wedding date we began to get nervous after seeing reviews of the company not responding or even showing up to provide services at eventsWe reached out to the company daily for nearly two weeks with no response to phone calls, text messages, and emails

DO NOT US THEMWill not respond to emails or phone callsVery unprofessionalWe booked Encore Sounds for my wedding reception and paid in full for a DJ and Photo BoothWas suppose to hear from them the week of my wedding, July 22nd, to go over some more informationWe did not hear anythingNo email or phone callDid not hear from them again until July 22nd at 4pm, which was the time of my ceremony, that he would not be able to make it and had some other people to fill inOur new DJ had no song list, timeline, anything from Encore SoundsHad to get all of that and songs ourselves an hour before the reception was open to guestsPhoto Booth provider had none of our information eitherDid not hear from Encore Sounds at all since that one email on July 22ndNo followup or anything elseHave reached out to Encore Sounds by email, phone, and friends calling them as well but have gotten no response backThey have been dodging all lines of communication and will not respondHave not given us an explanation or even given us some money back for breaking a part of the contract where they would tell us about a cancellation way before the day or the eventWill not give us contact info on replacement Photo Booth provider to get those photos

We used Encore Sounds, Dave R***, for our daughter's wedding on January 28, along with the photo booth and the music for the wedding ceremonyI don't even know how to begin to express our gratitude for such an extraordinary evening Dave had every detail down to the minute Our schedule went very smooth and just followed his cue Perhaps we had a few interruptions but Dave was very patient with us and kept with his time line Dave is a very passionate, kind, and caring person and it shows in his work!!!

Dave was our DJ and literally everything could not have been more perfectThe day went off without a hitch thanks to Dave being on top of it with announcements and keeping the guests moving and flowing at the right paceHe played all the right music at all the right times and kept the dance floor packed all nightHe checked in with us throughout the night to be sure that we were happy and that we were ready to move from cocktail hour to dinner, dinner to speeches, speeches to cake cutting, and cake cutting to dancing He took last minute changes without batting an eye too! His business suffered from a fire in their office about a month earlier but it only affected his ability to get back to me for a little bit...once it was time to really get down to wedding business, he was there when I needed him and still delivered every service he promised me and moreDave and Encore Sounds are the best, you won't be disappointed if you hire him!

Fantastic company! Dave provides great customer service and a quality productHe has run the photo booth at our library at special events for several yearsHe is friendly with our patrons and it's always the most popular attraction!

TL;DR - I’d be REALLY careful giving money to Dave R***He will instantly halt communication with anybody he's wronged & won’t address your refund concernsI don’t want anybody else to come home from a honeymoon and immediately have to file a lawsuit like we haveTo simplify the story, I’m going to do it in timeline form(Wedding date-9/23/2017.)
Sep 2016: Booked/paid Encore
Jun 2017: We receive an email from the apparent owner of Encore Sounds, Dave R*** at Encore saying that the warehouse they keep their equipment in had suffered a fireThe email also stated: “We are working as fast as we can to contact each affected client individuallyWe are cooperating with the building owner, fire officials and insurance companies and hope to be back on our feet within the next few days.”
Aug 2017: Dave R*** emails to schedule our pre-wedding meeting9/18/17: We talk with Dave for over an hour; he is helpful & knowledgeable & gives us no indication that he’s about to completely derail our entire wedding in three days9/21/(hr before the wedding): We receive an email from Dave saying:
“Every week since the time of the fire, we have been forced to invest thousands of dollars to secure replacement vendors to fulfill our contractual obligations -- expenses that were supposed to be covered under our business interruption policy with a reputable insurerToday, we learned that the insurer has opted to delay the funds that are absolutely necessary for us to continue any of our business operationsI realize that this comes with extremely short notice, however, our current situation leaves us incapable of fulfilling our obligations of our Professional Entertainment AgreementOnce our insurance company finally completes their assessment and reimburses us in full, we have every intention of issuing you a full refund.”
9/22/17: My husband sends him an email in which he requests a refund & sends a money request(We have gotten a response to neither.)
9/23/17: Tony from *** *** *** ** *** ** saves our wedding on hrs notice & does a PERFECT jobWe spent the two days between the cancellation email & the wedding trying in vain to get a hold of him & asking him to please get a hold of usAs mentioned, we were able to find a replacement DJ within the hour of Dave’s email; so we were no longer scrambling for his business, we just wanted an explanation & a refund (because we also weren’t feeling the whole "don't call me, I'll call you" refund angle.)Surprise, surprise: He would NOT answer the phoneAnd for somebody who was incredibly prompt with emails previously, he has become the absentee owner of EncoreThen totally scrubbed his existence from the internetThis is what’s been the most frustrating for usEVERYTHING up to this point had been so pleasant & helpfulIf we had been able to talk to him & discuss more over the phone, this would be nowhere NEAR the headache it’s becomingBut he refuses to grow up, get in touch with us, and give us a single shred of tangible informationWe’ve since heard back from other DJ’s that we’d called who had other bad stories about Encore including double-bookings that he handled very unprofessionallyWe also found out he cancelled over weddings in addition to ours when he cancelled on us—including the one he had booked the DAY after he cancelledIf you're planning booking, good luck
