Tell us why here...We're writing in response to the complaint filed by [redacted].[redacted] did have a problem with the original chairlift that she purchased which was provided to us by Handicare. We did agree to switch out that chair at no cost because other customers were also...

experiencing similar problems with chairs made by that company. In fact, the national Marketing Group responsible for arranging the manufacturer relationship made a permanent switch from Handicare to [redacted]. This is the reason why we offered the customer a heavy-duty upgraded lift manufactured by [redacted]. However, contrary to what the customer stated in her complaint, this lift was not "in my garage". It was ordered and received directly from the factory. We do acknowledge that she had some service calls, which were fully covered by her warranty and due to the nature of the circumstances there can be some service interruption if parts needed to be ordered. Although this can be very inconvenient for the customer, in all cases the problems were manufacture related and our company ordered the necessary parts made the repairs immediately. We have a service team that's available 7 days a week.As evidenced by the attached service completion certificate signed by list [redacted], we successfully completed her service on Tuesday April 25th.In closing, the lift it's fully operational and we will be monitoring the situation to ensure that everything is working properly. We're confident that the information provided in this letter will satisfy this complaint. No further service issues exist at this timeSenior Bath & HomeSincerely,Steve B[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Homeowner attempted to cancel transaction but was prevented by business from doing so. No work of any sort was done. No supplies were bought, no workman ever set foot on the property. Transaction violates CT home improvement contract law and banking law. Business 'sold the paper' on this 'job' never having done any work whatsoever.  Homeowner is being harassed by third party lender.

I live in a second floor apartment and needed to purchase a curved chairlift because I have Muscular Dystrophy so I hired Senior Bath & Home in late October, 2015. In my contract it stated it would take 4 to 6 weeks for installation time. The contractors took the necessary measurements and pictures needed. They then contacted the company they do business with who makes the chairlifts with the information and the company said they would not build it because it would be unsafe for me.
The contractors came back to re-measure to put the chairlift on the opposite wall (right side from the top). As you descend my stairs from the top there is a door at the bottom left to go outside and on the right there is a door to a bedroom on the first floor.
SB & H wanted to extend the track to go into this bedroom on the first floor residency. Between myself and the owner of the house this was NOT an option.
They explained they would have to reverse the bedroom door and cut a hole into it, like a doggy door for the track to go through. They also said I would have to get off the chair before entering the bedroom because my knees would hit the door moulding. SB & H suggested to take part of the bedroom space to make that door wider to have full access into that room. As we told them before it was not an option.
The whole purpose for them suggesting doing it that way was because the outside door swings in so there would not be enough room for the chair to stop in front of the bedroom door but we told them we would change that outside door to an outswing, which would fix the problem.
My salesman came by again to sign for the new drawings and to explain how it would be installed. When he was done explaining, I said to him, "as long as it does not enter the bedroom", and he said it wouldn't.
It is now February, I get a call to set a time for installation, the contractor comes upstairs and asked me if anyone from SB & H contacted me about the the chairlift and I said no and asked why. The contractor told me someone was supposed to call to tell me they made the track to go into the bedroom, I called my salesman and told him what happened and he said "oh no" , I gave the phone to the contractor to talk to the salesman and heard the contractor say you should of called me to explain the drawings. I was so upset and still they tried to convince us to install it.
The answer was still no.
I don't know if they cut this one or built a new one.
Finally, 7 1/2 months from signing the contract, being stressed, having anxiety attacks because I was unable to leave my apartment, they began installing it the first week of June. So much for 4 to 6 weeks.
I tested it and noticed the battery was weak, (probably because it was sitting in a cold warehouse for 6 months) the chair vibrates going up the stairs and they used black electrical tape to "fix" the broken seatbelt cover. A $20,000 piece of equipment and they use tape to repair a part. I contacted the contractor on June 13, he told me he forgot to tell me about the seatbelt and he said he would order a new battery and seatbelt cover and when they came in he would let me know. I received a call from SB & H on July 15 to see how everything was going with the chairlift, I told her about the battery and the seatbelt cover, she told me as soon as she gets off the phone with me she will contact the contractor. It is now July 22 and I still haven't heard from anyone.
I've been very, very patient and no longer can take it anymore, people need to know this happened.
A customer should be treated professionally, not have a person from the company raise his voice with an attitude toward the customer. My boyfriend called to find out why it was taking so long, as soon as they knew who was on the other end, they hung up. Real professional.
