If I could give 0 stars, I would. I called on a Friday evening to schedule a cleaning. I was upfront with exactly what I would need done. I'm having pest services performed and the tech advised me to do a thorough cleaning beforehand so the poison would adhere better and be more effective. He advised a good scrub of floors, baseboards, walls and inside cabinets. This will be my third (and hopefully, last) treatment. Since cabinets, bookshelves, drawers, etc have been completely emptied, I have everything in small moving boxes in the middle of the rooms. These boxes and furniture would need to be moved in order to scrub everywhere. I was told that it would be no problem and they could come out Monday morning to give me an estimate. My pest control was for Wednesday but the gentleman I spoke with assured me they could do a free estimate and still have the services completed by Tuesday evening. On Monday, I get a phone call and it's explained that they don't DO pest service cleaning and in fact, they refuse to do cleaning of any sort if there are ANY pests on the site. There must be no maggots, no flies, no snakes, no mice, no ants, no roaches, no termites, etc. Why wasn't I told this on Friday so I could have called somewhere else? "We don't turn away potential customers until after the estimate. But at this point, we wouldn't be able to get you an estimate until Tuesday afternoon anyway." Complete waste of my time. Also, any restoration company that claims to do crime scene cleanup and won't cleanup where there are pests should have their licenses revoked.

Increased price over estimate without informing me, and did not complete the services agreed to perform.Servpro came to my house to remove some drywall and paneling after water damage. They took measurements of what was to be removed and gave me a quote of $3300. It was roughly 1000 square feet. I have my Insurance estimate to confirm the area. Servpro was to remove the exterior walls in the basement, but they indicated to me that some of the interior walls were damp and should be removed. I told them that I would remove the interior walls myself. While I was away the proceeded to remove the additional wall, without informing me of a price increase. It was roughly 225 square feet. Upon completion of the job, I was happy with the services until they gave me my bill. Before they would start the job I had to pay them 50% of the estimate ($1650), which I did. After they completed the job they told me I owed them an additional $6600!!! Unbelievable!!! I was told it was for the additional work. I refused to pay the 200% price increase for 23% more work. After arguing about the price I finally agreed to pay them $4100. During this whole process it was agreed that they would remove all the debris, but they kept saying that their dumpster was full and they would pick it up tomorrow. I called daily to see when the garbage would be removed until they stopped taking my calls and wouldn't return my voicemail messages. As of writing this, weeks after the services performed, I still have the garbage in my driveway. I now have to pay $500 to rent dumpster so I can get everything hauled away. In conclusion, I should have been informed of any additional fees before work performed. Also, I am fine with paying a fair price for additional work. But I was promised they would take my garbage away, which they did not.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would request reimbursement for the dumpster rental fee to remove the garbage left behind. I am paying $500 for a 30 yard dumpster.

Servpro has reached out to me and agreed to reimburse me for the dumpster fees I payed out of pocket. I am pleased with their response to my complaint. And I wish to remove my complaint.

SERVPRO EauClaire Was hired to clean and restore a home we purchased in the La Crescent,,Minnesota. The home had had a dehumidifier fire two weeks prior to our closing date. Servpro was contacted to do the restoration and cleanup. We met with the owner of ServPro at the beginning of the process and he assured us the home would be restored to the same condition if not better than prior to the fire. He stated that he hired professionals to do the work and cleaning. Partway into the restoration we were unhappy with how it was going. There were many issues with the painting and cleaning process. We asked to meet with Tom the owner to resolve these issues. He became hostile and aggressive. Our realtor was at this meeting also and has it on video because she was so appalled at his behavior. When Servpro was stated they were done with the home we moved in expecting it to be clean in the soot gone . That was not the case. There was soot everywhere. We took pictures and sent them to the insurance company who covered the claim . The paint job was terrible we had a professional in fact two professionals come in and give us an evaluation of the painting. Their evaluation was that the painting needed to be redone and that the beams and other areas had not been sealed properly. We have spent numerous hours and money cleaning and replacing things in this home that should've been done by Servpro. I have contacted corporate Servpro to file a complaint on two occasions and both times after being put on hold was transferred to a recording to leave a message. I left two messages and have not heard a response. I feel SERVPRO cost us both time and money and now we are concerned that we may have health issues because of the poor job they did on this property. The insurance company is also concerned about the job that was done. Auto Owners Insurance Rochester Mn Jean *** agent

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Other (requires explanation)The insurance company should have the bill adjusted because the painting needs to be redone and the cleaning job was very sub standard.

Servpro Industries has been in business for well over 50 years and has been located in Middle Tennessee since 1988. Please note that Servpro Industries never provided Ms. with any goods or services and never entered into an agreement with her. In light of this complaint, we contacted the owner of TBAM, LLC d/b/a Servpro of Eau Claire, an independently owned and operated Servpro franchise, and determined that Ms. never entered into an agreement with his company.

While we take customer complaints very seriously, we are not in a position to resolve this matter with Ms. as she did not enter into an agreement with Servpro Industries. It would also appear that TBAM, LLC., a Wisconsin company, is also not in the position to resolve this matter with Ms. as they never entered into an agreement with her. Lastly, the relief sought by Ms. is between the insurance company and TBAM, LLC to address, not Ms. and TBAM, LLC.

As such, we ask that the Revdex.com dismiss this complaint against Servpro Industries.

ServPro did not follow their own guidelines or stand behind their warranty on work and now my house is full of toxic mold.
ServPro did not follow their own guidelines or stand behind their warranty on work and now my house is full of toxic mold.

ServPro was hired to mitigate flood damages in our home.

When I had contractors come to start work of finishing up the damage repairs, I was told by the contractors a severe amount of mold present where the flooding occurred.

I immediately contacted ServPro and asked someone to come out and investigate the matter. No one showed up at the agreed upon time. I called them back and they said someone would be over later in the day.

Two women showed up with their child and proceeded to bring their child into my home. Immediately I was concerned on what type of business would bring their child to a site where an overgrowth of mold is present? They walked in my house and told us (I have witnesses) mold is no big deal, mold is everywhere in TN. They told me there is no such thing as toxic mold.

No one investigated the areas where the flooding occurred. No one looked to see the amount of mold present.

I was concerned at this response so I reached out to the Franchise and later received a certified letter that we were unable to come to a resolution. Still no one has come back to the house to investigate.

I contacted ServPro headquarters and submitted a complaint form. I was told the matter would be investigated. I was told each franchise is independently owned and operated.

Still no one ever came to my house and looked at anything. I received a letter from Headquarters stating that ServPro has followed through with the Quality Assurance Process and found no quality of workmanship issues and they stated they closed my complaint.

How can this be??No one has come to my house to investigate or look at ANYTHING???

I can not get ServPro to come back and access the mold present.

I have been diagnosed with Sick Building Syndrome and Mold sickness and have had 4 doctors tell me I can no longer live in my house because the mold was tested and is TOXIC.

The warranty states:The SERVPRO(r) Franchisee identified on this estimate warrants for a period of five (5) years from the date of the insured's authorization to pay, that all workmanship of the SERVPRO(r) Franchisee and the subcontractors working on the above repairs (1) will be performed in accordance with this estimate and any construction agreement with the insured,and(2)will be of the quality generally accepted in the emergency property damage mitigation industry.

What good is a company who doesn't stand behind their warranty?

ServPro also states: Maintaining your personal health and safety is of great concern to us.

Apparently our health is of no concern.

Apparently being diagnosed with a debilitating sickness as a result of the mold ServPro was hired to avoid having in the first place is of no concern to this company.

Apparantly being displaced from my home as a result of the mold ServPro was hired to avoid having in the first place is of no concern to this company. It is a miserable place to be in when you pay a mortgage for a home and cant even live in and have to succumb to living out of a suitcase and staying where ever you can. This company doesn't even care enough to come back to my house to investigate the negligence of one of their franchise owners?????

Be cautious of this company. I mean its obvious they let their franchise owners do what they want even when it includes failing to follow their own guidelines.

And it seems apparent that ServPro is ok with letting their employees bring their children with them on job sites.

Desired Outcome

ServPro needs to stand behind their warranty and take care of the toxic mold that is now in my house. If they had investigated when I called them to begin with instead of brushing mold off as no big deal my health wouldn't be as bad nor would I be forced to leave my home. I am being displaced from my home as a result of this and we have been very sick. This matter is now threatening our health and needs to be resolved NOW. ServPro needs to hold their franchise owner accountable for their negligence. ServPro needs to pay for mold remediation in my home because of the negligence of their franchise owner failing to investigate this matter and the stupidity of their franchise owner stating mold is no big issue when obviously my health is suffering according to FOUR doctors who states my health issues are a direct result of this mold.

ServPro is charging two, three times the amount the insurance has paid for some of the items on the estimate.
ServPro is charging two, three times the amount the insurance has paid for some of the items on the estimate, after agreeing to complete the work for the amount the insurance is willing to pay, servpro has damaged the landscaping in the path of the brick removal the home owner was told to have it fixed and send the invoice to the insurance company for repayment, the insurance company refused to pay saying that servpro will need to pay as they caused the damage, servpro agreed to pay 50% of the bill as they didn't feel it was fair to pay the full bill from the landscape company, Per the contract I signed with Servpro I didn't owe the final payment until all of the construction was completed and all of my contents were reinstalled in my residence, I received the final bill including items that I was over charged for like mentioned above and items that were not even completed also items on the deprecation list that I have not received money from the insurance to be able to pay servpro my understanding was the deprecation amount would be paid to servpro after I received from the insurance company, Servpro would not return my clothing or furniture until I paid the final invoice, I paid the final invoice knowing I have over paid just to have my belongs returned and as of 5-31-19 the construction at my residence is still not completed, so to this date I should not have had to pay the final payment, I have had to fight and show pictures of items that they did not do to have them remove these items from the cost, if they were an ethical/honest group of people and knew what was going on at the job site they should have been coming to me saying hey we didn't do this lets take this off of the price instead they want me to pay for tools and other items that they didn't do and me having to prove by pictures that they didn't do them, I have over 2000 pictures of the repairs that took place on the house I know what was done and was not done. there are other issues of smoke damaged brick in the walls that I sent to servpro that didn't get repaired, Servpro is telling me they did all that the insurance approved and the insurance is telling me that all of the damage is captured in the estimate, all I know is all of the damage did NOT get remediated and replaced, I sent the photos to Servpro in February requesting that this be captured and nothing has been done to date. I have been lied to un-countable times by different people within the Servpro organization, I have had items stolen from my residence during the construction process I reported this to Servpro and to my insurance company and the only feed back was from my insurance company stating I would need to file another claim and pay another deductible but nothing from Servpro to date, these are the most un-ethical lying thieves I have dealt with in my 47 years of doing business, It would be worth buying a servpro franchise if it is as easy as they make it to steal from people and make their clients sign contracts that them selves do not have to follow the contractual agreements, I just feel really bad for the people that servpro is stealing from and they don't even know it, im sure if they are stealing from me they are doing it to others as well.

Desired Outcome

Be an ethical/honest company and stop lying, finish the job, pay for the items servpro has damaged during the process of the repairs, adjust the bill on the items that servpro is charging over what the insurance is paying for the items, return the money to the home owner that was over paid to servpro, replace or pay for the items that were stolen from the home owner during the repair process

ServPro threatened us with a lien on our house while we where waiting to get paid by insurance for our claim.
After interviewing several companies to handle the black mold in our attic we decided to work with ServPro of Delaware, Ohio. The job was done very well and on time. They worked well with our insurance getting the appropriate information to get the job completed.

However, things rapidly changed when it came to payment. The owner of the local franchise was in our house at least 6 times, met my family/children, and even got to know the dog. He also call use almost daily as we worked through the mold remediation.

He was well aware of our insurance process and how the payment was going to be handled. They then sent 2 invoices that went to my SPAM. We did not even know they sent the invoices due to that fact.

They never once called us or even reached out to our agent asking when they could be paid. After being in our house so much, he never even stopped by and we are very close to his office. Yesterday we got a threaten to lien our property after being 15 days late on a payment we didn't even know we owed. Again, never a phone call or stop by after acting so friendly to my family. All we go was a threat to lien our property. This was a threat to my family and small children without even a phone call to ask the status of payment. Which would have been happy to pay if we knew we owed it. Our credit score is at 800, this type of collection process is completely uncalled for.
The ServPro Delaware, Ohio franchise owner is a fake and will do our best to let everyone we know to avoid using him to avoid his mafia style collections process.

Desired Outcome

The franchise owner needs to be disciplined and fined. We would like a written apology to my family for this uncalled for stress. Hopefully we can protect other homeowners from this franchise owner of ServPro in Delaware, Ohio.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

SERVPRO got paid by *** Insurance to do a job at my property, but they never did it.

In October 2016 a car crashed against my house. My insurance allowed me to chose from a list, which company could do the job.
As per the reviews I found online, SERVPRO looked like an international well reputed company.
As winter was coming, they did minor fixings and we agreed to postpone the whole repair to the following summer.
At that time they told me to sign some papers and get the file "approved and closed" by the Insurance Company, what I did, without knowing that I was signing an approval for their job (never done)

In August 2017 my nightmare started. They delayed answering me, and then directly avoided me.

When I contacted SERVPRO headquarters, I was told that their office in Winnipeg, Manitoba (where I live) went bankrupt. I talked with their directors and marketing people (have the emails) They promised to help, but now they don't even reply.
They say that as SERVPRO Winnipeg is a franchise, is not their responsability...
Now, I wonder, if they make money from their brand, how come they are not responsible?

All paperwork I have says SERVPRO. Nowhere says that it is NOT Servpro, but a franchise, or someone that just rent the brand.

They got paid around $18.000 and I have to pay from my pocket to do the repairs.

If they were not making profit from their brand, I could understand that they can't be hold responsible, but they do! And people check reviews on SERVPRO, despite where is the branch located.

I hired SERVPRO. The insurance company paid to SERVPRO. They have to reimburse me for the amount SERVPRO received and kept.

They were contacted by my lawyer, but they keep denying responsibility.

Desired Outcome

SERVPRO is responsible for SERVPRO, despite where the branch is located. Otherwise they can't "rent" their name without wanting to assume the responsability. I want them to reimburse me for the exact amount SERVPRO received from *** Insurance as the job was never done and I have to pay to another company from my own pocket.

Servpro Industries, Inc. is the franchisor of over 1,700 independently owned and operated fire and water disaster restoration cleanup franchises in the United States. Servpro Industries, Inc. has been in business for well over 40 years and has been located in Middle Tennessee since 1988. Additionally, Servpro Industries, Inc. has been Revdex.com accredited since October 10, 1989. Servpro Industries (Canada) ULC is the franchisor of Canadian Servpro franchises. Servpro Industries (Canada) ULC is a separate company from Servpro Industries, Inc.

Neither Servpro Industries, Inc. nor Servpro Industries (Canada), ULC provided services to *** and have not received any payments from AVIVA Insurance. From the information provided, it appears that one of Servpro Industries (Canada) ULC's independently owned and operated franchises may have been in contact with ***. Specifically, Servpro of Winnipeg of Southeast. Unfortunately, Servpro of Winnipeg of Southeast's franchise license was terminated in November of 2017 and is no longer in business. However, it is our understanding that a Receiver has been appointed to address creditor claims and issues. I highly recommend contacting the Court Appointed Receiver: Bruce C, Senior Vice-President, BDO Canada Limited, Direct: XXX XXX XXXX, email address: ***@bdo.ca to discuss your claim against the now defunct Servpro of Winnipeg Southeast.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
SERVPRO makes money through franchising. Companies PAY them to use their name, so they are responsible.
I have all the document sent to me by AVIVA where SERVPRO appears in the letterhead and even the cheque was issued to SERVPRO.
The fact that it took so long for them to reply, and that you have to insist so many times, makes it look like their lawyers were looking for the best way to avoid their responsibility. Or that they feel that they are above any regulation, law, or simple business decency.
Before coming to this point of contacting Revdex.com, I was in contact with them, over the phone and through emails.
In my first telephone conversation, I was told by the lady in charge that I was going to be reimbursed as SERVPRO Winnipeg.
I hired SERVPRO because when I checked online for reviews, they were impeccable! Nowhere I read "BE CAREFUL BECAUSE SERVPRO MAY BE NOT SERVPRO'
I had to take a second mortgage on my house to pay the repairs that they were paid to do!
So, no, I don't accept their reply.
My lawyer has all the documents, I can get them from him and send them to you for your reference.

Regarding Mr ***, I tried talking to him, and as he didn't even answer my calls, I had to go in person to his office. He said he had no clue who I was, that my name wasn't in any documentation he had. I left a complete set of documentation, and he just told me to "forget about it". A very rude, unprofessional person. I am surprise (or may be I shouldn't) that they hired him.

With kind regards

Customer Response • Feb 04, 2019

My lawyer have communicated with SEVPRO when this first started over one year ago and they NEVER mentioned that USA and CANAD were different companies. As a matter of fact, in all their social media they "promote" themselves as a USA & CANADA company.

Mr ***, former project manager of SERVPRO in Winnipeg is my witness that the job wasnt completed.

In the winter of 2015, SERPVPRO did another job in my property and their work was ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! They were fast, professional, they went the extra mile. And that is why the car crashed into . my house, I called THEM, SERPVRO to do the job and I requested the insurance company to hire them to do the job.

Winter was coming and it was not ideal to do it at that time, so we decided to wait until the spring (I am talking about Winnipeg winter, with temperatures over -45 C) At that time, Mr ***, told me that insurance companies didnt like claims open for so long, so we strongly suggested me to sign as it was done, and that they will do it once spring was come.

I had no reason to doubt, as my previous experience was great. And I have all the emails to prove what I am saying.

Having said so, again: SERPVRO makes money renting its name, so THEY HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT.
They can not say, we are SERPVRO only to be paid for the use of our name, but we have nothing to do if they do someting wrong. It is their responsability, thay have to be accountable.

I can forward you all the communication we had (myself and my lawyer) with SERPVRO. They NEVER mentioned that they were 2 different companies. Mr C's professional work is absolutely questionable and he doesnt even take calls nor replies messages.

There's a lot of jurisprudence that support my claim.
If such a big company does all this fuss to avoid a valid claim for only U$S 12.900 (aprox the $17.000 CAD) .... I am really surprised and I will take care that all the Insurance companies in Canada become aware of that.

I can submit copies of all my communication with SERVPRO, with their local representatives, with their legal department, with their franchise director, and management as I contacted them ALL.

Looking forward to hear from you.
Best

Servpro Industries, Inc, as the U.S. franchisor of U.S. based franchises, is improperly named in the complaint.
Ms. signed a certificate of satisfaction that was submitted to her insurance carrier that clearly supports the work performed by the former Servpro Industries (Canada), ULC franchise was completed to her satisfaction, albeit now she claims the work was not performed.
The former franchise that performed the work was terminated in 2017 and is no longer a Servpro Industries (Canada), ULC franchise.
The franchise's company, XXXXXXX Canada Ltd, is under a pending Receivership Action in Canada Bruce C is the receiver - ***@bdo.ca.
XXXXXXX Canada Ltd has personal counsel: *** of *** LLP, (XXX) XXX-XXXX

had a kitchen fire in March 2018. Toaster oven had flames inside . I used fire exstinguisher to douse flames. Called my insurance, *** Farm and they said Servpro would have to first come and look at the damages. There were no damages. Just a big mess to be cleaned up. I was told this would be a free estmate.

Since there was no damage as far as I was concerned only cleaning up the fire rdant was necessary. The rep from ServPro said it would be 3 days before they could start and another 3-5 days to clean everything. Which meant I would have no kitchen use for a week. This was not okay so I did all clean-up by myself. While ServPro was here she measured and I took pictures, that is all that was done by Servpro.

So then I get a bill for $325.00. I refuse to pay for a Free estimate. I communicated this in writing to ServPro . I then received a bogus contract that they say I signed. The signature is definitely not mine.

I feel this a scam and I feel it should be reported.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment Indicate in writing that I have no financial obligation regarding this $325 charge from ServPro. AND Legal consequences for supplying a false signature and claiming money due based on the fake.

Servpro Industries Response • Jul 17, 2018

Dear Mrs.,

It is always our goal to provide excellent customer service to all our customers and we are sorry to hear you have had a bad experience. We were unaware that you thought that this was a free inspection. We made several attempts to contact you but were unable to reach you to revolve the matter. We billed your insurance company and they advised us to bill you directly as you had withdrawn your claim. The reason this inspection was billable was because it was the same day and after hours. If you had communicated to us that you were under the impression that this was a free inspection we could have resolved the matter immediately. Instead we received a letter stating that you would report our company to the Revdex.com and the local news station as you felt this was a scam. We never have and never will prey on homeowners to scam them.

After receiving your letter we reached out to you multiple times to resolve the matter but once again never received a return phone call. As a courtesy due to the misunderstanding about free inspections versus billable inspections we have waived the $325 inspection fee and your account is clear on our end.

In regards to your accusation that we falsified your signature on our authorization form, this is simply not true. We frankly take great offense at such an accusation. We realize that you may have forgotten that you signed the document electronically at the time of the inspection, given that fact that you were upset about receiving a bill for something you thought was free and after you cancelled your insurance claim. We greatly value our reputation and the trust placed in us by the community and our insurance providers to stoop to such a level as to falsify signatures.

Once again, we apologize for the misunderstanding and wish we could have had the opportunity to communicate with you sooner to resolve the matter quicker.

I will not do any business with Servpro again It was not an after hours call. It was still daylight. You people need to get real and not charge such a ridiculous amount for nothing.
