Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/12/15) */ I did speak with Mr [redacted] about the issue I explained to him that we do not guarantee concrete from crackingHowever I did explain to him that we do have a free crack repair program, where we come out and cut into crack and inject itCrack has to open first before repair can be made Also a representative from our company went out to his home to inspect the crack on separate occasions

We found this newer concrete driveway to have many spills and neglect all over it.Driveway looks like it is being used for mechanic and construction work. There was countless spills of oils, paint, caulk and many other unidentifiable materials. There was an area close to all the spills that had what looked like pops in concrete.Upon our inspection closer, the aggregate was beginning to show thru.Concrete will only hold up and look nice if it is taken care ofIf materials are spilled ontop of concrete it can and will damage it.This driveway is not being taken care of.There is many products being used that will eat away at the surface of the concrete and show the aggregate from underneath.Out of the over 20,000+ concrete projects we have been a part of, this concrete job looks perfect. What has been do ontop of this concrete and too this concrete from its original install date is very damaging to it!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/09/03) */
Hello we have recieved the above complaint
We have went out to ***'s home twice after he called us about a crackBoth times we went out and looked at itBoth times our findings were the sameHairline crackWe do not guarantee concrete
from crackingOur contracts clearly state that
With that being said, we also do not turn our back on our customer
if that crack ever opens up wide enough to stick a coin in it, then we can come out cut into it and inject it
Its part of our free crack repair program for all our customers
I will mention again, we do not guarantee concrete from cracking, chipping, popping, etc
We can not do to it being a exterior material exposed to the weather and climate elements

We here at Shamrock Concrete have completed over 12,jobs over the last years. We take great pride in our skilled trade workmanship that we provide our customers. With that being said, *** *** comments to on of our staff members, over a recorded phone line were completely inappropriate,
threatening in nature and ridiculous.I have attached a copy of the contract agreement for this jobNo where does it say anything about us doing any hand rail work. *** mentioned to our production manager to leave the hand rail, because they wanted to reuse it and have their painter refinish it.It was left on site, undamaged and great conditionTheir job looks beautiful! Our crew even went above and beyond and fixed the city curb, because we found it to be a trip hazardFree of charge. The pavers on the side of her yard were removed as we stated that we would in our contract, that is attached. After speak to *** and listening to her conversation, we have had no choice but to send her a day letter for paymentIt is also attached. Was sent via certified mailIf *** wishes to not honor the agreement and pay in full, we will be forced to file a lien on her home and judgments against her credit, in StLouis County court. The ball is in her court nowFiling a bogus complaint with the Revdex.com will not help her out of this situation

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/13) */
We called *** and made a appointment to come speak with her and look at the issue
When we arrived *** was not there
A man answered the door and immediately began being very rude, aggressive and cussing
We went inside and he started
behaving the same way again
We did not feel safe and had to remove ourselves from the situation
His behavior was not appropriate!
We went there with the intentions of helping them out
I might also add, A complaint was file with Revdex.com, before a phone call to our office was made
Our company really went above and beyond for ***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/13) */
Our company has had a serious of emails with customer, those emails will be forwarded to Revdex.com today
I personally went and inspected issue that was reportedI did see a hairline crack that jumped out of the groovethings to put out
As
customer stated groove is to deep, the deeper the groove the better the chance it will crack in groove and not jump out
2.We along with any other concrete company in the world, can not and does not guarantee concrete from crackingOur contracts clearly state that
As for base rock, ALL jobs have a rock base put down to make grade and then that rock is compacted
Workmanship does not impact concrete cracking
With that being said, Shamrock does offer to all customers for the life that they own there home or building, a free crack repair program
If any customer ever gets a crack and that crack opens up enough to stick a nickle (coin) in it
We will come out cut into the crack and inject it with a filler materialFree of charge
The reason behind waiting for crack to open up is to allow crack to go all the way thru concrete, so that when we inject, it goes full depth
Hairline cracks do not go full depth
We stand behind our work 100%!

We did have many conversations with *** ***
Her patio looks amazing! I will make contact with her againAs for the backfill, Contract states she is to do the backfill right where she signed
I even asked her IN PERSON, would you like me to leave some of this good dirt here, so YOU can do the
backfillShe said yes and Thank you

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2016/01/04) */
Shamrock will be sending in copy of contract that states:
*Sprinkler heads must be moved before scope of work is per formed
Not responsible for damage if still in place
Contract being sent in via email, since there is no place here to
attach it to

We will contact homeowner and also stop by and do a inspection of crack.
If it is wide enough to cut and inject we will do that for customer. We don't show a recent call to office in his file. Shamrock will take care of this at once!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/12/11) */
This is the first we have heard of any issue with this job.We went out to inspect this job on 12-3-15, I did not find anything wrong with job finish.
I also checked fall , grade and slope.
No apparent issues were found during...

inspection.
Regular concrete mix with textured finish is on contract and was done. No defects were found and homeowner did not contact office about any issue.

In regards to the complaint by customer [redacted], Shamrocks Business Lawyer had taken legal action to pursue satisfaction on Mr. [redacted]'s account.  Prior to Business Lawyer's attention Supervisors met Mr. [redacted] at his home to discuss any possible issues to be resolved. ...

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/02/04) */
We completed this project over 1 year ago.
[redacted] the customer was out of town 95% of the time during project.
[redacted] had hired a construction supervisor to be on the job while he was not there.
To say the least the supervisor did not have any...

idea of what he was doing.
Every trade on job was having issues due to this supervisor.
Supervisor damaged plumbing pipes and while fixing them, he barried bell in the rock. We had no clue it was even there. Shamrock did end up with a high spot in 1 of the floors.
We were asked to sand it down, which we did.
[redacted] came into town and said he wanted a further fix, so we tore out that portion of floor and re-did it to his approval.
We stand behind our work!
As for some sort of seeds in floor, I have no idea how a seed would be in his floor. I do know that we saw his supervisor flicking cigarette butts into the concrete as we were pouring and spitting out gum into pour.
We told supervisor to please not do that as it can float to top of pour. I remember the supervisor was trying to quit smoking cigarettes and was always chewing gum, biting on toothpicks, vaporing, smoking cigarettes, etc.
For all I know he was probably chewing/spiting sun flower seeds also. As we have never had a problem in over 10,000 jobs with sunflower seeds in a pour, I can not warranty his claim for this. Nor has [redacted] shown any proof of this to be fact.
To say the least, this was one of those jobs we at Shamrock wish we would have never done, as working for [redacted] and the supervisor was not a great experience. At one time [redacted] called and asked if one of my guys would come down to do some cutting and I couldn't get anyone that would go over there.
All our employees refused to go back over there.
[redacted] did drop off a invoice for repair and followed up with a letter saying he would also sue in small claims court. Soon after that letter he filed this complaint too. [redacted] is free to do whatever he feels is right, but we will not warranty a fictious issue based on no supporting factors. In addition job is over 1 year old.

In regards to this complaint.
1/2 inch rebar is always drilled into foundation of home for patio install.
This is a common industry standard. Mr. [redacted] called our office in Feb. 2015 telling us he had a crack in patio. We went out and...

looked at it and there is a hairline crack. We explained to customer, if and when crack becomes wide enough to stick a coin inside of it we will come out and cut into it and inject it. All was fine.
Then we got another call from customer in March 2015 of a crack, we went out and look at it. It was same crack and hadnt gotten any worse.
We recieved another call in April 2015 from homeowner about crack. We went out there and inspected the same crack again and it still had not gotten any worse. Now a complaint filed with Revdex.com.
WE do not quarantee concrete from cracking, but as I explained earlier we do have a free crack repair program for all our customers. Out of 1000+ jobs we do per year, we may have to go out and fix 10 cracks per year.
Customer has a hairline crack at this time and we believe it will never get any worse. In the event it does we will fix it. Customer has been told this 2 times previously.

[redacted] I do have you down to come and look at your driveway.I believe you miss understood my text message. I havd 30+ things to do on my punch list, that doesnt mean things to fix.If you look at your contract Shamrock Concrete does not warranty or guarantee concrete from cracking, chipping or...

popping. We purchase the concrete from another company and we are for hire to install the concrete. We do purchase the best quality concrete in the area, from [redacted].We do want you to be happy, so I will stop by and see what is going on.

Shamrock did install a driveway. City of O'Fallon permit and inspection require 2 pours. Color can vary from load to load. We do disclaim that on our contracts also. The issue is after driveway was poured for a few days, it rained for 6 weeks...

straight.
That rain has slowed down the curing process. Ultimately keeping curing the concrete slower.
Sprinkler heads were not the problem but the sprinkler lines that ran UNDERNEATH of the driveway. The sprinkler lines were all installed after the concrete. So the lines run directly under concrete. We install plastic conduit for sprinkler companies so they can run new line. Every driveway that is to be torn out in that villa subdivision, also has to have the sprinkler company run a new line. Its a flaw in the original build and install.
We have since replaced 3 more driveways in that same villa subdivision and each one had to have sprinklers repaired. HOA is involved in the process. HOA has sent out letters to all residences and Shamrock also advises each customer.
This is why we do not warranty or cover the sprinkler costs.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
We take extreme exception to the response of Shamrock Concrete LLC.  It makes the situation sound as if all issues were resolved and we then paid in full.    When company representatives met with us to discuss Shamrock’s much less than satisfactory work, the representatives threatened that if we did not pay in full, legal action would be taken to put a lien on our home.   As we stated in the original complaint, Shamrock pointed out to us that we had signed a contract which protected them from the complaints on how the resultant work would look, i.e., coloration differences, patch work might have to be done.  Also as stated during the visit by company representatives, the estimated time it might take for the colorization issues to resolve kept changing by months.  So we have no idea when or if our sidewalk will ever look like a new sidewalk or match the rest of the job.   Again, little did we know when signing the contract, what we thought were likely ‘exceptions to the rule’, would indeed come to fruition on the job.  What we are totally surprised at is the lack of concern by Shamrock that our job required patchwork and has colorization issues. It almost seems as if the company was treating this as if ‘it is a given’.     Once we signed the contract, we were also surprised by the lack of communication from Shamrock on when the job would start, the delays, our repeated calls about the quality of the job, etc.             For Shamrock not to express concern in the response to the Revdex.com that we are an unsatisfied customer, shows the lack of respect for our concern or potential customers who might contact the BBC before doing business with them.   We would definitely caution anyone from doing business with Shamrock Concrete LLC.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
