Review: Hi in Jan. 2013 I bought a 2003 ram 1500 with 56,000 miles it now has 68,000 miles. I bought it from my local dealership and have had nothing but problems. The 2nd day I had it the power steering pump was making noise so I checked the fluid and there was none. I added some and took it back to the dealer who said there wasn't a leak that they could find and to bring it back if it started leaking. About a month after having it I took a 300 mile round trip to my sisters and about the last 30 miles it sounded like someone was beating the underside of the truck with a sledge hammer. Needless to say I took it slow. Found out from a friend it was the wheel bearing, so I called the dealer and was told to drive it out there, I decided it was safer to have my friend do it rather than risk driving anywhere. The bearing was so bad I could move it back and fourth at maybe 1/8in, I was told I was lucky to make it home without the wheel falling off. I got a alignment afterwards and was good up until around November when my rack and pinion went. I got that fixed along with my other wheel bearing and of course another alignment.. So 2 weeks ago I was thinking of getting a magnaflow muffler, so I climbed under the truck and noticed black oil all over the bottom of the rear of the cab, and saw that the rear differential was leaking from the pinion seal and also out the end of the left rear axle. So this time I decided not to take it to the dealer and to another mechanic who confirmed that the pinion seals axle seals and bearings had to be replaced. in addition I have to replace the leaking power steering pump, the oil pan is leaking oil through the rust and the tie rod was shot. I received a document that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and everything seems to be going bad.Desired Settlement: Is there anything that can be done. It was obvious that the fluids hadn't been checked and the wheel bearings weren't checked as stated in the check list. Something had to have happened to this truck to have all this go wrong in 12,000 miles.

I read your compaint and looked further into your deal. It turns out that you have a service contract on that vehicle unless you cancelled it after the purchase. If it is still active I believe that almost all of the components that failed would have been coved under that contract. The vehicle was inspected and passed unfortuantly we are not able to predict what is going to fail in the future. Please let me know if you kept that service contract active becuase that will save you a lot of money on future repairs. I do appolagize that you had issues with the truck, please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Thank You,

General Manager

Review: I agreed to purchase a 2001 Saturn from Sheboygan County Auto in December 2010. The agreed price was $3500.00 plus tax and title. The plan for me was to obtain private financing to buy this vehicle. I wanted to buy the vehicles for my sixteen year old daughter to start a credit history for her.My bank was not receptive to this idea because my daughter being less than eighteen years old would not be able to title the car in her name. I informed the dealer that I would be delayed in financing the vehicle until I could take the time from work to contact my bank.At that point the salesperson offered to find financing through the dealership. I agreed to this. When I arrive to take possession of the vehicle I was informed that the financing was a lease. I was apprehensive about this situation, but was assured that after I fulfilled the term of the lease that the vehicle would be owned by me.After fulfilling the lease I went to the dealership to obtain the title for the vehicle. At that point the dealer asked for a fee to transfer the title. I refused as I have fulfilled my financial obligation to own this vehicle. Consequently I still do not have a title for the vehicle.Desired Settlement: My expectation is to receive the vehicle title without any cost.

Started off as a good experience with the salesman [redacted], however they downplayed an oxygen sensor light that was on in our vehicle and said it just had to be shut off, little did we know we should have had it checked by an independent mechanic. And during the negotiation of our trade-in sales manager [redacted] didn't like our counter offer got up and said "see ya later", just rude and unprofessional. He wasn't willing to work with us and was very rude. [redacted] then saw us walking out and we were able to work with him to get it within our budget. The oxygen turned out to be a huge problem. Within 2 months our car was eating oil and we couldn't figure out why. We took it to another dealership to find out the engine needed to be replaced, and that was going to cost twice as much as the vehicle. Of course it's a used car so I didn't expect it to be perfect, but to have to have the engine replaced, really? Budget auto was not willing to work with us at all and basically said you signed the contract so it's your problem. So needless to say we are out a lot of money (to us) and out a vehicle. They sold us a lemon, they knew it, and said oh well. I personally wouldn't want to work for a place that does this to hard working people trying to support a young family. Now my wife has to give me rides to work so she can have the car to get to work and drop our kids off/pick them up. Thanks for the debt and terrible experience. This will take us years to pay off and we can't afford to buy another vehicle.... SOL. #1 don't buy from these guys they really don't give a [redacted] about you or your family, and #2 always get a used car checked out by a mechanic before you sign your life away. You can't trust what they tell you about the condition of the car, and they will lie to your face just to make a sale. Please contact me with any questions and I'd be more than happy to share my experience and direct you to another trustworthy dealership.

I found a truck that I liked and so I called and talked to someone named Emily. One of the questions I asked is the price of the truck and she told me it was $24000. I asked about any deals or sales going on and asked if they would negotiate on this vehicle. Emily said that they could negotiate the price on this truck. I sent in a Application for credit approval (knowing my credit score already was in the low 600's) and she called me back and said I was approved and that they would work on getting my payments where I needed them.
After an hour drive up there, they imediately wanted to show me other vehicles. After insisting to look at the vehicle I came there for, we test drove it and looked it over and wanted to try and purchase this vehicle. The Sales Manager told us that the price of this truck is $28000 and that they would drop the price to $24000 for me.([redacted], THIS VEHICLE IS LISTED ON THERE WEBSITE WITH NO DEALS @ $24,000, NOT $28,000) After explaining what Emily had told me earlier, they wanted to start showing me other vehicles in my price range. I said OK, lets look at these other Vehicles. They brought out another truck, I looked it over and it was full of rust and body damage. ITold them Im not interested. They wanted to show me 2 other trucks, so I said lets look at them. Well, I couldnt look at them because they were both in the DO NOT DRIVE PYLE! REALLY? So the Salesman had yet a 5th truck for me to look at and test drive(2006 Dodge Ram). So we wanted to take it for a test drive and the salesman tells us That the Manager told him that he would have to drive because of a tie rod issue on this truck. So after the salesman test drove this truck for US, I saw that the drivers side rear fender had extensive damage. So I still wanted the truck, I knew that the rear fender needed to be fixed and the tie rod needed to be fixed, then the Sales Manager started listing a whole bunch of other things wrong with this truck. (2 ball joints, tie rod, Tachometer wasnt working, the volume for the radio wasnt working, the truck was missing muffler hangers, etc.). The Sales Manager said that they would fix only the ball joints and tie rod and pretty much I would be responsible for the rest because he was already losing money on this deal. This truck they wanted $15500 and after the financing it would of cost me $27072. And I couldnt even test drive it! I asked several times if they would tell me what interest rate they were financing me at, and they never give us an answer! Needless to say, they waisted my wifes time and mine. I DID NOT PURCHASE ANY VEHICLE FROM THIS PLACE! DEALERS LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO BUISNESS IN WISCONSIN! (OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER)

Review: I purchased a car a Sheboygan Budget Auto. Used car. The day after I got it home the car was making lots of noises. I took it to a mechanic, who identified a Broke sway bar, an oil leak, leaking shocks, and loose tie rod. All legal safety issues. Took it back, they fixed the tie rod only and put a sealant in for the oil leak. The car continued to have the same noise. Took it back, their mechanic said nothing is wrong. Had another mechanic look at it and the same issues still persisted. We ended up trading the car as we felt we were not going to get anywhere with this lemon. We test drove 5 cars all with issues. This places sells broken cars apparently. We spent more money on a car that has an oil leak, that should be fixed under warranty. Took the car to Van Horn, the dealership affiliated with Budget auto for the repair. they said they didn't see a leak. had a mechanic show Van Horn where the leak is and they fixed it. Now the oil to visibly leaking out of the car and lost 2 quarts of oil in 5 days. We now have it back at Van Horn to get it fixed again. I have little faith my 3 month saga on getting a quality car is obtainable.Desired Settlement: Refund .

I have spent 3 months of my life dealing and arguing with Sheboygan Budget Auto and Van Horn on my investment. I have spent money taking these cars to another mechanic to prove there is something wrong only to be denied and occasioned to spend more money. I have never had such a horrible experience dealing with people to purchase a car. My daughter is at college an hour away. I have spent many hours driving to drop off or pick up a car to have it looked at or returned. and gas money. I am out of options in trying to make a reasonable deal for the amount of money, time, and mental anguish it took in these occurrences. I feel any car I have from them will be a bad investment.

Response:

As stated by the customer we did everything in our power to make sure whatever issues they were having were resolved. I gave them all of their money back on trade towards another vehicle which is coved under Chrysler manufacturer warranty. I believe the issue has since been corrected however the oil leak was covered by Chrysler and if there are any other concerns it will be with Chrysler. There is nothing else our dealership can do to help this situation. We attempt to give all of our customers great customer service and we assured them that the oil leak would be fixed and Chrysler will stand behind the warranty that they put on their vehicles.

Review: I’m writing this letter to inform you of how disappointed I’m in the service I have received. On Saturday September 14, 2013 I visited your store in Plymouth to look at a 2005 VW jetta tdi. I took the car for a test drive then asked to see repair orders that the sales man said had been done (Sales man [redacted]) in this repair order two of four glow plugs had been removed and replaced. The sale went through on the car on Tuesday September 17, 2013 where I met sales manager [redacted] at his house in Neenah to sign papers and give him my trade in. Wednesday September 18 2013 in the morning I started the car and the check engine light was on in the dash at 82,816 miles. I took the car to the shop where they hooked up a code scanner and read back with code “P0673” cylinder 3 glow plug circuit. I then called on September 18 at 11:05am I talked to a manger who wasn’t [redacted], this manger told me that he would pull records on the car and that it would be no issue to have the cars work fixed because it was performed at budget centers shop. Later on in the conversation he said “my service manager is on lunch but should return in 15 minutes and he would call me to set up a day to look at the car and fix it” I never got a phone call. I took matters into my own hands and texted [redacted] on September 18 at 6:15pm saying “hey tommor when you get to the shop can you see if the service manager can call me? I started the car up that morning and had a check engine light, I hooked it up to the computer and got a glow plug circuit fault. You guys said you did two glow plugs. I called over there and they said the service manager would call me, I didn’t get a call” [redacted] replied with “copy”

It is now Friday September 20, 2013 I took effort into my own hands and called them finally got a answer saying they were going fix the check engine light and that it would be going to the Volkswagen dealership in Sheboygan, that same day I drove from Fond du Lac to Plymouth. Got to Sheboygan county auto they did give me a loaner car. One week later I got the call saying the car was ready for pick up, I drove the rental out to Plymouth to pick up my car.

On my way home noticed a loud humming noise out of the rear end got it looked at on Saturday September 28,2013 the left rear wheel bearing was bad. I had the wheel bearing replaced.

Monday September 29, 2013 I started the car had a check engine light once again went to the shop got the engine code read on the scanner. Code read up at cylinder 4 glow plug circuit fault. I called [redacted] on September 29,2013 told him my issue and he said he would forward me to [redacted] the service manager. After talking we agreed on Thursday October 3,2013 I would call him to remind him that on October 3, 2013 id be dropping off the Volkswagen to go back to the Volkswagen dealership for repair on October 4,2013, he would also have a rental car out with the keys above the sun visor. In the phone call at 11:00am on October 3,2013 [redacted] said both of the rentals are there and that the keys would be above the visor of one and the car would be parked in front of the entrance for the service shop office. I arrived at 10:45 pm on October 3, 2013 there was a grand prix with dealer plates parked in front of the door, I parked my Volkswagen next to the car get it and the keys are not above the sun visor, I checked glove box, center console, passenger sun visor, under both driver and passenger seats also in gas cap. Very upset and frustrated I left a note in the key drop box stating I had been there that night.

Im done dealing with thus dealership.

I can be contacted at the cell phone number listed below

[redacted]Desired Settlement: fix by my local shop they pay bill

Review: I had purchased this car in September of 2015, its currently March of 2016. They had told me that I was not allowed to pay the vehicle off earlier or make payments any bigger than the original payment a month. I had talked to multiple and they said that isn't allowed. The car was on the lot for 5,500$ but with interest paying over 7.000$? It was in the first week I had baught the car that I had noticed as I am backing up I can feel a grinding on the gas pedal. Mind you, the day after I baught the car I realized the horn didn't beep; I looked at the checklist of the car they gave me and it was chack marked that the horn did work. I had called them and taken it back to them and they had to put a whole new front of the steering wheel cover on, because the horn was stuck. (They didn't even have a fuse in the fuse box for the horn.) The new cover that they had put on the steering wheel isn't even the same color as the steering wheel now. I had minor problems with the car shortly after. It started December 28th when the whole car started going to crap. Between December 28th and through recently March 8th, 2016 I had paid over 1,000$ on car repairs, actually so far I had paid more fixing the car than I have making payments on the car. Unacceptable. For major things so far I had to : do an engine flush (did not fix the problem occurring), engine treatment, lower control arm and outer tie rod ends, upper ballpoints, speed sensor (vehicle was stuck in second gear), new rear brake drums, new rear brake shoes, new rear brake hardware, and a new alternator, spark plugs and wires.

Now, I had been having major problems in the engine area. I was NOT going to buy a new engine and transmission for a car that i'm still paying off and throwing so much money into. I had called Sheboygan County Budget Auto and told them what was going on with the vehicle, and the manager had replied to me, "Well you did buy a used car, and things do go on cars like that, we can't control that." I was FURIOUS. I told him I wanted something done and eventually he had told me to call and set a date (which I did) to have their maintenance crew look at it. I told him I was not going to pay them to look at it and he covered it free of charge. I had taken it their that day (March 29th, 2016) and turned out the Flexplate had cracked. Which my me driving it is ruining my engine AND transmission. I had asked if anything else was wrong with the car (myself knowing their was, even visible damage) they had said no. How do I trust that they know what they're talking about then? They wanted to send me home in a loaner car and charge me almost $500 to fix it. I told them no, I had put so much money into the car to the point were i'm running out. I drove it home that day and later that night I had heard a new sound coming from under the hood a very loud sound such as tin foil being grinded up in my engine, and then all of a sudden I cant pick up speed; the vehicle drags horribly. I am honestly scared to drive the car now. Also within these few months of fixing my car; the shop were I take it couldn't get into my car when I had left them just the key and not the key fabb. The key does not work on the door, I had never realized this because I had always used my key fabb to lock and unlock my car. The car was given to me this way. Just recently again I had another problem where my muffler is so rusted that one of the clamps just fell off the muffler and took a big chunk of the muffler with it. Also, there is a broken valve cover gasket too. In the amount of time I have had this car there is NO way this all should've had to be fixed. I feel like I was sold a Lemon, as do many other people. This is completely unacceptable. I DO understand that this is a used car and stuff will have to be replaced but this has gone too far. As of right now, I will not be making anymore payments on the car until this is resolved because I cant even drive the vehicle now.Desired Settlement: I do NOT want another vehicle from this place, I want all the money I had to put into this car PLUS every penny I paid for my payments and down payments. I do not wish it to be fixed because of the fact that I already paid all that to get fixed; them fixing one or two things on the vehicle does not compare to what I had to. And currently how the cars been running I know there has to be more too it. Something NEEDS to be done, considering I can't even drive the vehicle.

I apologize for all the issues you have had with your sebring, it is never our intention to sell a vehicle that is going to have constant problems. Sometimes however this does happen from time to time and we will try to rectify the situation to the best of our abilities. I have contacted the lender to get a payoff of your vehicle and I am awaiting their response. We will fix your vehicle free of charge with your current issue. The other option I am looking into with the lender is buying you out of the lease that you currently have. I will be in contact with you once I hear from Wisconsin consumer credit. Any other questions please feel free to contact me at [redacted].

Review: I had bought a car from Sheboygan County Budget Auto on February 2nd 2015. I drove it from the dealership to my job in Milwaukee. I found out through that drive that the car had no heat. I called the dealership right away and told them that the heat wasn't working. so they said to bring it in and they would take care of it. I brought the car in on February 5th (the soonest I was able to get up there )They flushed the heater core in hope that the heat would work again. The heat worked for 2 hours. I brought it back on the 12th and they tried flushing the heater core again.... Same issue. Then we found out that the heater core was bad. so they offered to pay for half of the repairs.... (Note: why should I have to pay for something that should've been working this whole time?) So I kept trying to get the dealership to fix it and they kept telling me that I was responsible for half of the repairs... now it is December and the antifreeze is leaking on the floor and outside of my car from the heater core. I was on my way to work and it overheated. I was stranded in a vehicle that I have only had for 10 months..... I had the dealership tow my car to get the heater core fixed (which I had already made an appointment earlier that week) and I was going to pay for half of the repair. So now that I had to get it towed, it now is costing me $494.55 I called the dealership and told them that I couldn't pay that amount because then I wouldn't be able to put gas in the rental that they let me use (no charge for the inconvenience) and I wouldn't be able to make it home in mine. they told me that I could pay $420 and it would be okay.... I would then have a total of $80 to put gas in both cars and live off of for 2 weeks.... I told the General Manager that and he said that the price is final. I told him that this shouldn't have even happened if they would've fixed the problem when they found out about it. and he became very rude towards me and said that it was the best that they could do and that they would fill up my car just like I will fill up theirs. I am not happy with the service nor am I happy that I had to spend all of this month on a vehicle that should've come standard with heat.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the amount that I spent for the repairs and for the gas that I used to drive to the dealership numerous times.

Response:

The fact that this issue was dormant for over 6 months and then the heater core started leaking was nothing that anyone could have for seen. I believe the offer to pay for more than half of the repair 10 months after purchase was more than fair. We worked with him on the tow bill and the repair even though we were not obligated to do anything. Nobody likes when their car breaks but they all do and we try to stand behind our products the best we can in this case I made him the offer to cover half of the heater core 6 months prior and I stood behind that statement and some more.
