I wanted to ship a truck that I had bought in North Hills California all the way to HaitiShipoverseas gave me a complete price of $2,dollars which I agreed to , signed the contract, and then paid the money by wire transferweeks after I paid, shipoverseas informed me that it would cost
considerably more than they had quoted in their contractI didn't want to pay more, since they had set a contract price and I simply asked them to cancel and refund my moneyI got somebody else to ship the vehicleThis is more than month now, and shipoverseas still hasn't returned my money and now when I ask,, they say that they will return some of my money, but they will take a $fee for all their troubleCan you help me with this terrible company?
Sir
I have looked at your complaint and at the factsYou were being served by ***He asked you for a picture of the truckYou duly sent him a picture for which he quoted youThe picture that you sent did not match the actual truck that we went out to pick upThe truck was much larger than declared by you and this could not fit onto a regular car carrierThis cost us $for a dry run which we had to pay the trucker*** communicated with you and advised you that we were unable to pick up the truck and it would cost more for truckingYou declined his offer and said you would arrange your own truckingThis you did and on arrival at the port your truck was refused entry as you did not follow instructionsYou were requested to mail the Original Title of Ownership to an address we gave you as well as a Power of Attorney and a copy of your passport.
This you did not do and thus the vehicle was declined entry into the port.
*** spent hours on your request to ship, created documents for you, paid for a customs clearance which never took place ( we lost the payment) $We have charged you for the many hours of wasted time and documentation prepared a further $Total $I will refund you your payment less the expenses indicatedIt is very important that you follow instructions so as to make the shipment a successYou did not*** ***

We have had correpondence with you regarding this mater over the last few days It was noted in your original correspondence your aggressive and sarcastic tone which led to me not wanting to assist youI have all your correspndenceThe
reason why your car was delayed is that US Customs rejected the clearance due to the time it is required at the port before sailing, We have no control over this, The car has to be at the port full days before sailing anfd in your case it was only two daysThis is a circumstance which I had no contol of I am not prepared to give you any discount as explained in my email to youNot % and not one Dollar Your attitude to us was not thing short of trying to be a dictator and we will not tolerate rudeness and sarcasmYour threat to make our name black by telling all your friens etc shows the type of character you are and even if I were to give you the whole shipment free you would still be the same character that you areThis subject and negotiating with me is closedThere are times when arbitration is possible but in your case noneWe will advise you where to go and when to do it after the sailing*** ***

My biggest problem at this point is the customer care and that you are trying to walk away from a situation that clearly I had no control over at any point until I hired the clearing agent The company you chose to ship the items, Prestige Shipping and whomever they shipped to to hold my items in storage were not selected by meI reached out to your company several times without any response and the fact that you disregard my items and my experience is an unhealthy approach to business I had to call on my own to determine that the items had arrived because Gary did not knowI can show proof, which I have in an email to your company, where there were several different communications with different arrival dates and the miscommunication from your company and failure to send me needed documents until the start of August is what caused some of the additional fees Your statement says my items arrived on July 27, so why did a company selected by your company (not by me) charge me daily fees from July 20? I did not select the shipping company and last time I checked your company name was Ship Overseas and not Perez or Prestige Shipping, two companies of which you work with who handled my items after I paid you fees to have my items shippedI never hired or paid money to either of these companies for serviceI am not saying that I am to be refunded all money, but the money I was charged for storage during the time of which you provided miscommunication and did not release to me the proper documents Also if there is a claims process I only asked to be provided with the information, which request also went unnoticed and whether or not the effort should be worth it should be left up to me and not your company to decideYour communication through the Revdex.com is the most active communication I have had from your company in over weeks

They failed to inform me of the proper steps to file a claim, they failed to inform me that without purchasing marine insurance they would do nothing, they failed to explain that even though we inspected the vehicle prior to shipment and upon delivery that they were not responsible or accountable for damage that happened to my car while in their care. I find this to be dishonest and misleading and extremely deceptive to the military community that relies on private companies like Ship Overseas, INC to transport our private vehicles overseas with us upon assignment. I spent over $to ship this car overseas, I expected to receive back in the condition it was given. For this company to be completely immune to accountability is unfair. They are pushing the resolution onto me and my private insurance.
Why should we explain to you how to file a claim when you were never insured with us ? Please contact your Insurance company to find
out how this is done
Here is a large paragraph attached to your quote which you failed to read
Do we offer Marine Insurance?

There is nothing dishonest about our company It is all up front I have never had a complaint about the advice or Insurance that we offer and never new that a Military member did not know how and where to file a claim
mistakes, we cannot do this
Please be fair and look at yourself before you blame us We will take responsibility if we are wrong but to pay for your mistakes we cannot do that

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I read the provided information, it states that the Marine Insurance would cover Loss of vehicle, that it would not cover damages. Again it confuses me to believe that the shipping company that I entrusted my vehicle to is not responsible for the damage that occurs while in its control. I have done many military moves, and always the shipping company was responsible for any damage as a responsible agent for the military. At what point was the information provide to me the customer that I would be fully responsible for any damages that happens to my vehicle. I still feel that the shipping company has a responsibility to make this matter right. I do not and will not recommend this company to any others based on this incident. There is a reason we do a pre and post inspection of the vehicle and note any damage together, or so I thought.

The customer corresponded with us directly and we sorted out the problem and gave him a $100.00 for his inconvenience.
The reason for the problem was the delay in the US mail delivering our payment to the shipping line , who refused to re;ease the vehicle until the payment was received.
This has now been sorted out , the customer received their discount and he has his vehicle.

Sir
I am away in South Africa at the moment so I am unable to p[redacted]uce the picture sent by you and the picture of the actual truck we were suppossed to load. However you found another trucker to tke the vehicle to the port and even called [redacted] to advise him that you would be delivering on the last Friday. Of course you tried to deliver but did not follow the instructions. Why are you denying this ?
I will return Feb 10 th 2015 and re look at your case and advise you.
Sincerely

This is my second response to this.
I am sory that you experiencing this problem. Please give me your reference number and name so that I can investigate this matter ?

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I paid for a service that was provide by ship overseas that I paid for in a timely manner. If it was just the case of a mistake on their part then no problem, I would have  have delta with it and moved on. But that was not the case, I was a paying customer and I was lied to by several people in that organization about my truck. I was stranded 6 hours away from home and spent an additional six hundred waiting to receive  my truck. They knew I was stranded waiting on my vehichle to be released and no one would even return my email. I had  to have a worker from the receiving company send the CEO an email begging for his help to resolved  the situation. If they would have been honest with me about the problem and had an ounce of remorse and compassion to my situation then we would not be here. I need them to be accountable, so that the next soldier or person will not be lied to repeatedly and received half the service they paid for. I also contacted them to file a claim for a  missing parts of my vehichle but no one has return my email or phone call. If this is how they do business then I think people should know whom their are dealing gd with.

Dear [redacted]

I fail to see why you are complaining to Revdex.com as it is common sense that if you do not have Marine Insurance with us we cannot make a claim on your behalf. The Military have their own Insurance as explained and that is who you should make a claim...

to.
If you were driving on the roads and someone bumped your car you would report this to your Insurance company and they would handle the situation accordingly. This is what you must do and if they think it would b correct to liase with our terminals insurance company, then they will.
We do have your inspection report of the condition of your vehicle when it arrived at our terminal and they can get a copy of the pre existing condition of the vehicle.

Sincerely

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The picture I sent to [redacted] was exactly a picture of the truck that we bought and wanted shipped.       It was not a different truck, but exactly the same truck that the trucker was asked to ship when he arrived at the dealership.    The error was made by [redacted] in his quote and instead of honoring his quote, he rather tried to blame others (me) when in fact I had taken lengths to make sure that he knew that the truck was not a normal sized pick up truck.     [redacted] told me it would cost thousands more to have the truck shipped than what he had quoted, which is why I chose to work with another shipper, who in fact did the job for about $100 more than [redacted]'s original quote.    Ship overseas had a contract with me and didn't fulfill it, and they still have my money.
Please refund the total amount ($2,950)
Regards,[redacted]

I apologize for referencing the wrong account. I have contacted the correct company which is Ship Overseas.  My total transaction was as I stated, and included fees that I paid to you and to your counterparts.  I paid you for a service which you then sub contracted to other companies, leaving the choice out of my hands.  I was sent the FedEx material in August, several weeks after my things were told to arrive. I never received a call nor was any message left from your company or either of the companies you worked with to ship my items.  When I spoke to [redacted], he informed me that I should not have been charged so much money for storage and that they should have contacted me. When I originally reached out to your company it was to determine the actual arrival date which you stated was July 27, 2015 and the company in Spain stated was July 20, 2015, which is where the difference in cost came into plan.
I then tried to reach your company regarding a stolen handbag and the condition of my things upon receipt of which I received no response by email, phone or otherwise. The agent in Spain was improperly charged by the company you selected to work with which is my I'm reaching out to you, because I originated the purchase with you and I purchased insurance to cover my items through your company.
________________________________________________________________________________... /> I have no counterparts. Te fees that you paid to the Customs Broker or agent in Spain have nothing to do with my company. They are totally independent . I realy have no knowledge of what you paid them
We never subcontracted. This is the shipping procedure worldwide. You have to get a agent or customs broker to clear your container and legalize your belongings in a foreign country. There is no other way. You got your own agent or customs broker.
You were given the the information by [redacted] in my office on July 27 that the container was on an Express Release and had arrived. This meant that your Customs Broker had to go and collect your container which would have been released to them without a problem immediately. Why did he not do that ? Maybe he did and added on extra dollars for his pocket ?
You had the information and was suppossed to have advised your Broker to pick up.
As far as the Stolen Handbag is concerened unless you made a list of your contents it is difficult to prove that the handbag was missing. You are welcome to put claim in for your hand bag but there is a deductible of $500.00 per claim so it may not be worth the claim.
I am sad that you feel cheated but we did all we could do to make this a success. The breakdown came with either you failing to notify your Customs Broker in time or his failure to act immediately.
I will not be able to make you and payment as I never collected the money you are referencing and it was not my company .

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Please ask the CEO of the company, if - and I quote him - "The car has to be at the port 4 full days before sailing", why was the estimation - emailed to me by his employee on Monday, January 12th - only two days later, January 14th ? were they afraid I would seek other services if I knew my car will be delayed for "unforeseen circumstances" as they mentioned? They KNEW my car will miss the shipping date, and still they lie.
The second thing is: I have a complete transcript of my correspondences with ship overseas, if the CEO can point to where I was a dictator, sarcastic, rude and threaten to tell my friend to never ship with them, I would withdraw my complaint. Otherwise, I will be leaning toward suing him for wrongful accusations.
Last thing is: I say it clearly through this website for safekeeping, after seeing how they react with customers' complaints in unprofessional way, that they might do something to further delay or even treat my car badly.

I'm going to contact the Military Jag lawyer and see what my options are. I'm glad I have all the emails that provide 3 different stories. I'm gonna do everything in  my power to make sure that no other soldier, sailor, or marine ever uses this company for anything. Then I'm sending the email to the paper to make a story out  of  this. I'm sure more people will come forward once I get it started. I hope you guys are proud of yourself, taking advantage of people while they are trying to protect and serve their country.

We do not give conflicting instructions verbally. If we changed your situation for instructions it would have been changed in an email to you detailing the exact alteration. If you can show me that you received these changes, I could entertain your claim. However to say you were told verbally and acted accordingly does not make sense.
Please advise.
Thanks
