Charged up front to replace a zipper, clean and condition, on a leather jacket. Was told it would be completed by the following day. Two days later went to pick up the jacket and Mr. B[redacted] said the work was completed but the jacket was still drying and could be picked up later. He was ask to call when it was dry and ready to pick up. waited two day, no call so I called him. Jacket still drying can pick up after 10:30 Monday. Monday jacket still not ready, Tuesday, no answer when called, visited business, closed. Wednesday went to business, jacket not ready, was told zipper too short, will take 30mins to replace. Waited 45mins to get jacket, still not ready, requested to had jacket returned as is. Mr. [redacted] gave me the Jacket, stitching was very bad and not secured, jacket had not been cleaned or conditioned. I ask for a partial refund for sloppy, incomplete work and for work NOT done at all, Mr. [redacted] refused. Cost me $67.44 in advance. While I waited 3 other customers came in to pick up items and were told that it wasn't ready and to come back.

This man and his wife are lier's and they are thieves. They charge you for their service and tell you to come back in one week, and it will be done. You go back to pick up your items, and you are told to come back in a couple days and they will have them done. Two months later I had to demand my sons boots and I had to wait 3 hours to get them. His work was hideous, and when I told him this is not what we asked for he said to bad. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. THE WORSE SERVICE EVER. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY UP FRONT AND THEN THEY DON'T DO THE WORK UNLESS YOU GO IN AND DEMAND YOUR ITEM. THEN WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE ITEM THEIR WORK IS TERRIBLE. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR STUFF.

Review: Took my HD boots to them to be fixed. They have had them for over a month and he now claims he cannot find them. They ask for payment up front. Other customers have tried to get their items back and presented their receipt, he has torn up their receipt up in front of them and told them they had no proof.Desired Settlement: I would like my boots and my money back.

His behavior was deplorable...It took 7 months and a professional negotiator to have my item and money returned with no repair done.....lots of heartache and trouble. Tell everyone!

Review: I droped off 7 pairs of shoes on 9/24/2014 and paid Shoe Doctor $164.25 and the owner told me they would be ready that next Thursday on October the 2nd. I recieved a call from them saying the shoes were ready and I came to pick them up however they were not ready and looked worse than when I delivered them, the owner agreed and appologized and asked me to give him time to fix them personally. I agreed and he said they would be ready the next Monday on the 6th. I arrived to find the same situation and he appologized and said that he had been gone he would have them on Thurs. the 9th and would give me a substantial refund for my troubles. This same thing happened on the 13, 20, 27, and November the 3rd. At this time I informed him that I was fed up and just wanted my shoes and a total refund back, he asked me to trust him one last time and he would fix them right for me, he had fired the guy that caused the problem and would do it personally for me (although he had said that before) and then promised me again the $20.00 for my gas trips and a "substantial" refund from the $164.25 I had already paid for my troubles. I arrived on November the 10th and they were not done, he asked me to wait. I waited an hour and a half (my son and dog in the car) and finally just said for him to give me back my shoes NOW! He had a worker bring them up to me and they hadn't been touched from the last time I was there and there was only about 3 pair I could actually wear out in public. I let the worker know I was not happy and wanted my refund he promised and so then the owner came back and asked what he had promised me and I told him exactly what he had said and he handed me a $20.00 bill and said now we are done, get out. I told him I was going to report him because of the service, time, and not getting the refund he had promised and he said he didn't care, "go for it."Desired Settlement: I want a refund for the shoes I cannot wear anymore and an apology for his actions when I was as nice as I could possibly be (he even said so himself) and made all those trips and he never called me once like he said he would if they weren't done so that I wouldn't waste my time.

Review: I took in Red Wing boots to replace soles and heels. I had to pay 65 dollars up front to begin wook. After waiting longer than first agreed upon, I picked them up and drove back to [redacted]. After about two days the heels started coming off. I was coming to see my mother in **, so I brought them along to return the boots to be fixed again. The man that runs the shop told me he had been out sick and that the boots were not glued right and that he would get on it as soon as possible. This was Monday, on Friday I called and they were not ready because they had to order more heels. They never called me as agreed upon, so tuesday I called back and they said they would be ready in half an hour. I waited an hour and drove back to Bristol. I had to wait another 20 minutes. After returning home, my husband wore the boots a few days and the whole sole started coming off. I returned to the shop and asked for my money back to go to another shop. the man told me "thats not going to happen". He said "give me another hour to fix them". I said no and we left the shop.Desired Settlement: I need my money back because I had to go to another shop to get the boots fixed. I didnt trust that shop to work on the boots again. My husband needs the boots this winter to work on our farm in [redacted]. Also I need the gas money that I had to use to the shop from [redacted] to Bristol 6 times.

Review: Dropped off two pair of boots for soles to be replaced on 4-10-14 was led to believe they would look as good as new from there work, the soles were still about to fall off the boot glue was all over boot looked terrible, was unacceptable. Coats were not even started, the womans coat only needed three buttons sewn on the man coat had some material torn that needed to be sewn and it also had not been touched, and after seeing the way my boots were done I did not want him touching them, as I felt he would destroy them also. I asked for my money back and he refused. So here we are... Todays date 5-20-14 [redacted]Desired Settlement: Full Refund of One Hundred seventy two dollars and 75cents...

Response:

The soles were replaced on two pair of boots, but I never tell anybody their boots will seem brand new. Wanted to polish the boots for the customer but he didn't give me a chance, I polished them after he left.

There will be no refund because the work has been done.

The customer is welcome to come back and pick up the boots.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

When you tell some one your boots are done, and your coats will be done on 5-20-14,and he's had the since 4-10-14 just come on in and pick them up, that's what you expect. Why does he have to take them in the back and cover up his mistake. Therefore with the sole's not glued on very good and glue all over the boots, all I wanted was my money back, he refused he also refused to give the boots back and I also did not want him working on my coats, I did get the coats back unrepaired, He still kept the money. So after viewing his workmanship, my money coming back will work. He also refused on the 5-27-14 to return the boots to my wife and was very rude to her also.

Review: Last Friday,May 1 2015 I dropped off a pair of sandals and a purse to be repaired. I was told they would be ready today, May 8th. I called yesterday since I was going to be in [redacted] and wondered if he had my stuff and I could pick it up. I first left a message on his answering machine but he never returned my call. I called later and he did answer and informed me that they were closed and under construction on that day. I asked him if they would still be ready on the 8th and he promised they would. I called again today to check 2 times and to see what time they closed. Both times I received no call back but took his promise from the prior day that my items would be ready. I got down there about 4:20 and saw the open sign lite up. Posted hours showed they were open til 5. I walked and there was a sign in front of the steps at front door indicating wet yellow paint. I reach around and tried to open door but it was locked. I knocked but no answer. I called again but no answer. I changed my schedule today to pick them up and drove 15 miles one way for no reason. I am livid. I already paid for the work, since he makes you may upfront and comes off with a a crappy demeanor. I see that he has you pay first so he can rip you off and lie to you.Desired Settlement: I want a call to let me know when I can pick up my items and a refund for going out of may way and having him lie to me

Review: I paid almost $100 for special insoles almost three (3) months ago, and although I have contacted the business several times, I still have received nothing. I have the receipt.Desired Settlement: I want what a paid for as soon as possible.
