Mail-in Rebate Offer Not Honored
It has been almost four months now and I still have yet to receive the *** rebate on my eligible Smith & Wesson firearm purchase. The rebate was submitted *** It is now *** Efforts to contact the rebate company lead to a "voicemail box this is full and is unable to receive new messages." Efforts to contact Smith & Wesson directly tell me to "contact the rebate company." There is no reason it has taken this long to issue the rebate. I was able to reach the rebate company approximately one month ago and they said the "check would be mailed in 3 days." That was a month ago and I still have yet to receive the check.

Desired Outcome

Please issue the rebate. There is no reason this should have taken this long to issue the rebate check. I see lots of other complaints on the Revdex.com website regarding this issue.

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

Reached out to the rebate company. Customer submitted his information by mail and they received it on *** The purchase was made on *** Customer is in system to receive the bundle package for magazines, ammo and mag charger. The process time is 8-10 weeks after receipt of the submission which is stated on the coupon.

I have purchased two rebate eligible firearms. The first one I purchased was eligible for the *** rebate, the second one I purchased was eligible for the magazine and ammo bundle. I still have not received the *** from the first rebate I submitted on *** and the firearm was purchased on *** The data you reference above is from the second firearm and is incorrect.

Sounds good to me! Wish we could have just done that from the beginning!

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

I reached out to the rebate company and asked them to contact the customer. They have and they will be sending him another check. The first one was sent but never cashed for the promotion earlier in the year.

applied for the perfect summer hideaway ammo, magazine and speed loader rebate and was denied. was told I did not have the proper documentation
I purchased a smith & Wesson *** rebatehey offered at the time. it was purchased and rebate submitted on *** 2017. waited for weeks to see the status of my rebate only to find I did not have the proper documents. they needed an itemized receipt, which I never received during my purchase, so I made copies of the state firearm purchase record and register receipt that had all of the things they needed. like the firearm serial number, firearm make and model, dealer info where it was purchased, purchase date and register receipt with the price paid. that was apparently not enough for them and I have gotten denied my rebate, my only reason for my purchase no less.

Desired Outcome

i want either the rebate fufilled as advertised or a credit for the total amount of cost for the rebate. ive waited far too long for this to be resolved. the advertised cost of the rebate was *** worth

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

We have contacted the rebate company. The paperwork that was forwarded to them was not compliant. I have approved them to process the rebate with the paperwork they have from the customer. It does list all of the necessary information.

I am happy with the result as it was the whole reason for the complaint

I bought a new S&W *** from *** and the 3rd trigger pull on the first time I fired it, it exploded and the frame cracked.
Purchased model *** on X-XX-XX and the first time I shot it, it malfunctioned. Contacted Smith & Wesson and they said to send it to them. After about a month I got a letter saying their gun wasnt the problem, but it was the ammo. Many people say thats what they are told by S&W. Theres a warranty on it but they *** not honor it.Talked to *** and then to *** at Smith & Wesson, and *** only said I could buy another new one for *** no way to run a company!

Desired Outcome

Exchange for a new one or a Total refund. A few dollars off a new one isnt a warranty..For the price she quoted I could buy from a dealer almost.. I saw a new one at *** for

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

Customer returned a pistol that had a failure. Per our protocol, the pistol was forwarded to our Metallurgical Laboratory for testing. Their findings were no defects were found in the material or workmanship of the handgun. Only likely cause is over-pressure ammunition. As a good will gesture, we offered the customer a replacement at a reduced cost. We have communicated several times with our customer and offered a few different models at a reduced cost. If the customer wishes to take advantage of the replacement offer, the original gun has to returned so we may update our records for the ATF.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They are just assuming it was the ammo. Their offer is the same from when I talked to them. It's like I have to pay full price for another gun I don't think it was the ammo after meeting with the owner of the ammo company.

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

As stated our Lifetime service policy covers any defects in the material or workmanship of the handgun for the life of the handgun to the original owner. Our testing has found that the pistol meets all of our manufacturing standards. No defects were found. As a good will gesture only, we offered a replacement pistol. The customer can still take advantage of the replacement offer if he wishes. He may return the pistol. We cannot comment on the ammunition since we do not manufacture ammunition.

I give up with them. But I, nor any of my friends or relatives, will never buy another gun, rifle, or anything else from them.As far as Im concerned, their name is mud.

I purchased firearms from at different times a Smith and Wesson *** which advertised a *** rebate and a *** a *** its been 5 months no rebate
*** SW *** serial *** business shoot straight *** phone XXXXXXXXXX store to XXX XX *** SW *** serial *** same location sales rep *** on the sheild sales rep *** the *** advertise getting a *** rebate and the *** a *** rebate which to this date I have seen nothing contacted them and even faxed them proof of purchase

Desired Outcome

I would like my refunds as advertised or something of equal value

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

We contacted the rebate company and the checks were printed on *** Customer should have checks in the next week.

Thank for helping me I was getting nowhere words could not thank you enough

Mail-in rebate issue
I bought a S&W pistol with a mail-in rebate, 8 weeks later and their system still does not show my submission. Customer service is not helpful and sends automated replies. Mail-in rebate contractor that they use does not answer the phone despite multiple phone calls. Total scam by S&W and their contractor

Desired Outcome

Send me my mail-in rebate items as advertised.

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

We have contacted our company that processes the rebate submissions. The customers information has been received and entered. Checks were cut last week and they should be receiving them this week or next week.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Unacceptable communication with both Smith and Wesson as well as their rebate processing service. It should not take a half-dozen emails, phone calls, and the Revdex.com to get S&W to respond to a customer question.

As for the response, I am unsure why they said that "a check was mailed out to you" since the rebate was not a check, it was ammo and several magazines. I do not believe that they actually inquired about the rebate status from their contractor.

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

Checked with rebate company. Customer submitted twice online for the bundles and both were processed as non-compliant because the receipt was not valid, did not include the purchase price. Rebate company sent the customer a non-compliant letter twice. Did not receive anything back with the necessary information.
We will approve the submission and have the rebate processed. In the future, the customer will need to submit the necessary paperwork to be a valid submission.

Customer Response

No resolution to this issue unfortunately. This is the second time in 2 months that Smith and Wesson has stated that my rebate will be processed, however I still have not recieved anything from them as of *** I give up in dealing with them, it is not worth the headache. No more buying their products for me.

Won't honor rebate, isn't it interesting that my complaint is one of thousands against this company, they should read the forums on this subject.
I purchased a firearm on X-XX-XX from *** as Smith Wesson was running a rebate for *** It's X-XX-XX and I never received my rebate check, when I contacted Smith Wesson they told me they don't offer rebates, a third-party company is who offers the rebates. That's not what the Smith Wesson advertising stated, it stated Smith and Wesson rebate *** The customer service person at Smith Wesson told me I would have to contact the third-party company. So, I attempted to contact the third-party company *** but they don't offer a way for consumers to contact them, no email that works, and the phone number is only a recording. There website states my rebate was received and approved on *** and shipped my check on *** really, where is my check. My transaction is with Smith and Wesson, they owe me *** I have proof of purchase, proof of rebate received, proof that rebate was processed and approved, how do I get my check? Any help with this matter would be highly appreciated as I am trying you before the Attorney General.

Thank You

Desired Outcome

I would like my rebate for

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

We have checked with the rebate company and they show the check wad mailed and dated on *** They do not show the check has been cashed as of yet. They will issue and new check and send it out.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I appreciate Smith Wesson looking into this matter and taking care their customer. I will be satisfied when I see the check in my hands and cashed.

Issues with Obtaining the *** rebate that Smith & Wesson is offering
On *** 2017 we completed the rebate online at www.smith-wesson.com/rebates. When doing so it didn't give any confirmation as to whether or not they received it so we contacted them twice via their website and sent all information that was listed on the rebate form along with the receipt for the M&P Shield and they never responded. I have called them at their customer service X-XXX-XXX-XXXX every week since June and finally the middle of July I finally was able to get ahold of someone and they informed me that they couldn't find my rebate. They suggested that I mail it which I did thru the post office on *** (receipt can be provided). I have been calling them again at the X-XXX-XXX-XXXX to see if they have received it and so far they have not called me back I left numerous voice mails. Finally got thru in Sept and they told me I had to go to the website because some other website *** (not sure if that is what its called) is responsible for all rebates. Now if that is the case why didn't they say that in the 1st place and not make me do all this running around??? I don't care who is responsible smith & Wesson name is on the rebate and they need to adhere to what the agreement states on the rebate form! Either way I purchased a firearm that is entitled to a *** rebate. *** had this same offer for *** and I had NO ISSUES with them! So what is the issue? I want Smith & Wesson to figure out the status and I already wasted to much if my time doing what they suggested but yet to find out that I have to NOW GO THRU ANOTHER COMPANY!!! Very frustrating!

Desired Outcome

I am seeking resolution of my *** rebate that is entitled to me due to purchasing the M&P shield.

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

We have checked with the company that fulfills the rebate submissions. They confirmed that they have received the customers submission. The check should be mailed in the next couple of weeks.
We apologize that the customers first submission was not received by the rebate company.
I have asked that the check be sent with the next batch sent out.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Can this case be left open until I receive my check?

Advertised mail-in rebate not being honored.
It has been over two months now since I have participated in a mail-in rebate promotion for a qualifing product with Smith and Wesson Corporation. The advertisement was for a *** cash rebate. All parameters/requirements of participation in the program were provided to include a sales receipt with the date and time of purchase within the indicated date window. Attempts to contact the rebate program manager only offer the ability to "leave a voicemail," then when attempting to leave the voicemail it says "the voice mailbox is full." Attempts to contact Smith and Wesson directly were also unhelpful.

Desired Outcome

I want to receive this *** rebate in a timely manner, I'd also like an explanation from the company as to why it takes so long to fufill the promise of their advertising or if they ever intend to actually fufill their promise.

Smith & Wesson Brands Response

We have contacted the company that processes the rebate submissions. They have received the customers rebate submission. The check should be mailed out in the next couple of weeks.
On our coupons we do say up to 10-12 weeks to fulfill the rebate. Due to the success of the promotion it may be a little past this period.
We apologize for any delay.

Customer Response • Jan 03, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This complaint is not correct, the Revdex.com of Mass, reopened my old complaint incorrectly and deleted my new complaint, this references a different rebate issue that has since been resolved. Please reopen my complaint that I submitted.
