Workers friendly and helpful
I come at least 7 times a week with my cars 2 people stand out all the time to me.
always smiling and very helpful. Thank you Louisa and Jerad from the Fallbrook, Ca Location

Yesterday I got cut off by a white Mercedes who tailgated to get in behind the car in front of him before the gate closed. A worker who I suspect is the manager this saw and when I said something to him he said in a very rude tone and with a dirty look "I just work here man" rude and horrible customer service from the older white man.
he may be getting hours but he's definitely not doing his job. This man needs to be retrained or fired. I understand that there was probably not much he could do about it, but an apology to me, or telling the Mercedes driver he needs to wait in line just like everyone else would have gone a long way. I can think of a million ways the situation could have been better handled, and if that is the manager I really hope they replace him. He obviously does not care about his job or his customers.
I'm waiting to hear back from corporate but I'm seriously considering switching all my cars to a different car wash company and encouraging friends and family to do the same. I've already spent hundreds of dollars there over the last year and if that's how they treat customers I will take my money elsewhere. Plenty of other good car washing companies and my car never comes out clean at this location anyways. If you enjoy spending hundreds of dollars a year for a sub-par car wash with stinky water and bad management this is the place for you.

Thank you, for taking the time to share your feedback. The kind of interaction you described in unacceptable by our standards, and I can certainly understand why you were offended. Please know that we are looking into this situation and will be taking the necessary actions to ensure it doesn't happen again. Our District Manager and Site Manager will be retraining our Team at Oceanside to ensure this type of interaction does not happen. Again, I apologize for the way we made you feel, and hope you'll give us another chance to offer you the exceptional service you deserve.

On 8/27/2019, I received a touchless car wash from Soapy Joe's in Sorrento Valley. After the car wash, I detailed my vehicle with their provided microfiber cloths and noticed there was a significant amount of fresh paint chipping on the underside of my front passenger bumper. I took pictures of the damage and filed a claim with the site supervisor. Roughly one month later, the claim was denied by William B who is the Claims/Operations Manager of Soapy Joe's.

The claim denial letter states "Nothing in our wash tunnel can do the kind damage, seen on your vehicle." I have a public recording of two of their managerial staff (the site supervisor and shift supervisor) stating clearly that it is indeed possible (and likely) that the damage was caused by the machine.

Further, the document states, "The scratches on your vehicle and that type or pattern of damage is clearly inconsistent with the action of the car wash’s components." I have a photograph of the site supervisor pointing to the component that caused the damage. This component from the car wash machine is on the right side of the track and it is diagonal. The deep scratches under my front passenger bumper are also diagonal.

The customer visited the Sorrento Valley location on 8/27/19 and advised our Team that there was damage to his vehicle. At the time, Mr. video recorded our Team advising their personal opinions on the incident that occurred - Soapy Joe's does not allow video recordings of any footage without authorization from authorities - our Team was not made aware that Mr. was recording.

Regardless, any information obtained or that was discussed, by our Team that was offered, is only their opinion and has no bearing on the decision made by the Claims Department.

The claim will remain as denied, there is nothing in our wash tunnel that can do the kind of damage, attached is the Denial Letter sent to Mr. and may discussion further with his insurance company.

Customer Response • Sep 26, 2019

The image that the site manager allowed me to take shows the component that caused damage to my vehicle.

Soapy Joe’s car wash Response • Sep 27, 2019

At this time, Soapy Joe's will not be reversing the denied claim. As mentioned previously, the Supervisor on site was stating his opinion to Mr., all claims are investigated by our Claims Department and was determined Soapy Joe's is not liable for the damage that occurred.

We do apologize for the experience and any misleading information given on site. Our District Manager has done a complete retraining with the Supervising Team at Sorrento Valley and will not occur again.

As a courtesy, we are willing to offer the member a complimentary 90 Day Magic Potion membership for customer service satisfaction.

If the customer would like to take advantage of this offer, please reach out to *** referencing this complaint.

Why on earth would I accept a 3 month free car wash package from a place that damaged my car, admitted responsibility, then denied my insurance claim?

On 08/31/19 I washed my car at Soapy Joes and while existing the car wash tunnel I noticed that the traffic light stayed neutral and I got pushed leaning my vehicle to the right side and my truck got stuck by exit camera arch which led to multiple scratches to the front right side of my vehicle and minor damage to the right front light . I filed an incident report and the employee that time Janet reviewed the video and told me that she hasn’t seen this happen to any customer in the year she was working there . I called today 09/10/19 to check on the status of claim and I was informed by Janet that the damage to my vehicle was my fault and they won’t be responsible for the repair despite the video that show other wise

Soapy Joe’s car wash Response • Sep 11, 2019

On August 31st, the customer *** visited the Rancho San Diego location at 654PM and filed a claim that our tunnel caused damage to his vehicle. After investigation and reviewing camera footage it was determined Soapy Joe's is not at fault for the damage the occurred and the claim was denied.

Investigator notes: CH 21, CH 32 @ 18:54:59: Traffic signal at end of tunnel flashed green for customer to exit tunnel, vehicle stays in neutral. Customer turns wheel to right hand side causing the vehicle to hit exit camera arch. Scraped p/s of exit camera arch. Member got "stuck" at the end of the tunnel due to moving wheel and not exiting the tunnel properly, causing damage to p/s of vehicle. Customer leaves vehicle unattended and stops business operations.

Overall investigation: CUSTOMER TURNS WHEEL AND HITS THE CAMERA ARCH - DAMAGING SOAPY JOE'S PROPERTY. CLAIM HAS BEEN DENIED, SOAPY JOE"S IS NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGE THAT OCCURS WHILE CUSTOMER IS OPERATING VEHICLE.

Footage has been saved at Soapy Joe's Rancho San Diego, customer may visit the location and speak with Site Manager, Robert B to view footage.

The claims manager of Soapy Joe’s refuses to pay for my broken rear diffuser on my vehicle. He says he can’t repair it due to the company policy of aftermarket parts;however, the sign is displayed before the entrance of the car wash. The customer is unable to see the sign prior to the purchase of the services and once it’s acknowledged it’s too late to leave.

Soapy Joe’s car wash Response • Apr 15, 2019

Per our liability poster, we state that Soapy Joe’s is not responsible for:

- existing problems with your vehicle or vehicles that have been altered (lowered, lifted, or body kits), this does include aftermarket equipment, such as the attached carbon fiber piece to the bumper.

- Also, loose equipment including, but not limited to: mirrors, trim, molding, emblems, light covers, wheel covers, center caps, bumpers, running boards, flaps, or bug deflectors that become dislodged during contact with equipment.

Customer Response • Apr 17, 2019

Soapy Joe’s liability policy is not unseen during the payment process. The placement of the sign is roughly a foot before the entrance of the car wash. Once a person can notice the sign, the customer is unable to back up and leave to avoid any cosmetic damage to the vehicle.

Soapy Joe’s car wash Response • Apr 23, 2019

Soapy Joes' liability poster is posted in view for customers. The claim is denied with our Claims Department after a full evaluation of the claim, we are not liable for the damage that occurred.

Customer Response • Apr 23, 2019

The liability poster is not displayed in the front prior to the purchase of the car wash. How can the customer determine if their vehicle is suitable for the car wash before making the transaction. The liability sign depicted in the image is located before the entrance of tunnel. Once the customer can see the sign after the runabout, it is too late to back up and leave to avoid any damage to the vehicle.

Harrasing my wife by employee:
I am really disappointed by this place.
I really like the deal they have so my wife and I got a membership for our cars.
After my wife goes there after someone hit her car and while she is using rhe vacuum and employee who works at the vacuums station ask her : Why your husband is not doing this for you?
My wife didn't respond. Finished cleaning her car and went to the managers office while the employee was trying to follow her up.
When she told me that I decided to go back and speak with him and the manager as well.
This is the thing:
When she told me that I asked her to described me the guy and the reason I said that was because 2 days ago I remember one employee being harassing a collegue girl age girl with inappropriate questions and I could feel that she was feeling uncomfortable.
We have a 16 years old daughter who is about to get her driver's license and we don't want her or people her age who are not strong women's yet to go thru those inappropriate and uncomfortable situations in a place the you pay monthly just to get a service and not to get question about your personal life.
When I asked the guy why did he said that he pretty much laugh into my face and said he was just trying to be friendly. He didn't recognize that he was wrong.
There is a lot of military wifes in this area. We don't know if their husband's are deployed, injured or dead and that kind of question Why you husband is not doing this for you is totally out of line.
The name of the employee is Leon.
We spoke to Edgar (assistant manager) who was really helpful and we are going to do a follow up with Matt (manager) .
We work on a customer service job as well and that kind of behaviour is not tolerated in our work and should not be tolerated in that company either.
We generally don't like problems but we want to do it for All the Young Women who may not be as strong woman as my wife is to step up and recognize that they should be feeling comfortable and harrassment free every where they go Specially on a Place where you Pay for monthly Services.
I will update this review with the upcoming of this situation.
P.S : My wife is an attractive woman but that is not justification for the harrassment and inappropriate question

Our District Manager, Michael S, reached out to the customer as soon as the customer left a review on Yelp.com. To our understanding, the issue was taken care of directly with the customer with a Corporate Office Team Member and has been resolved. If the customer would like to pursue further, he has our District Manager's contact information.

I went to soapy joes in national city oct 31 2017 I told the employee by the name of sam I would like to purches a car wash for a Month, sam put my credit card to be billed every month without me noticing that he put me to signed up for a every month contract not just for 1 month I didn't notice till july 2018 that soapy joes was charging me every month, I didnt use the car wash only for the month that I had asked and I thought I had purchased. I went to the location and ask to speak to the maneger he told me he was gonna Summit for a refund for all the months I didnt use and he apologised he told me if I dnt hear back in 3 days to go back n I did because they didnt call me a diffrent manager helped me that day and she called there corporate office directly Angelina in the main office said she can only refund me 80 dollers because thats there policy and if there was a problem with that I can call her directly the maneger told me to call Angelina in there main office because their was nothing else she can do for me even though sam had sold me something I didnt ask for so I called and explain everything to her she told me 80 dollers is all she can do take it or leave it I said I would contact the Revdex.com she said is okey ill send them a copy of the contact you signed. My point is I didnt ask for a month to month contract I ask for 1 month and sam misunderstood thats why I i only used the carwash 3 times in 1 month she didnt care even after seen I only used the carwash those r times if I would of known I was getting charged every month I would of used the carwash every month I was told by the employees at the car wash maneger sam was fired for duing shady stuff like what he did to me Angelina said he has his own soapy joes whatever it is I dont care I just would like this problem resolved.

The customer purchased a monthly reoccurring membership on 10/31/2017, there is no way to confirm or deny an employee sold the membership at that time. When purchasing, our Kiosk will notify the customer of the reoccurring charge, where they must select "I agree" before purchasing the membership (see attached image). After purchasing, the customer signs our terms and conditions authorizing the reoccurring charge, that can be cancelled at any time by visiting us online (see attached signed terms and conditions). The customer confirmed he received a copy and signed a copy. As a courtesy, the customer was offered a refund for not using the services, in which the customer verbally denied. As of 9/19/2018, we have not received a written request from the customer to stop the reoccurring charges, per our terms and conditions.

Our terms and conditions are also available online for our members to view at https://soapyjoescarwash.com/terms-and-conditions/

Customer Response • Sep 27, 2018

The excuse this company is giving is not right. Their employee signed me up for this knowing I only wanted one month. I did not use a kiosk the employee did everything and just had me sign not telling me I would have to write to them to cancel or anything like that. The company offered a refund of $80 dollars and I denied it because they charged my card every month for almost a year with out me knowing. I got the run around from a few employees saying oh well theres nothing we can do. I asked to speak to the corporate office so I was given a number of a lady named Angelina who wouldn't return my calls and when I finally did speak to her she told me all I can give you is $80. Basically telling me take it or leave it. I asked to speak to the owner or someone above her and she said there was no one else so I told her keep the money because it seems your company needs the money more than me. That was the end of the conversation. I am now finding out this has happened to alot more people and the guy who sold me the wash in the first place was fired for doing this to other customers.

Soapy Joe’s car wash Response • Sep 27, 2018

As provided in the first response, the customer signed the terms and conditions authorizing the reoccurring charges and understanding our cancellation policy. The previous manager at this location was not "fired" this is false information, the Manger was transferred to another location. We did apologize for the customer not understanding or reading the terms and conditions he was given and signed at the time of purchase. The offer of $80 will stand. There is nothing further Soapy Joe's can do as the customer signed the terms and conditions authorizing the reoccurring charges. He may contact his bank if he believe these are fraud.

After further investigation, Soapy Joe’s has determined we are not liable for any damages that occurred to your vehicle and your claim has been denied. Our liability poster states that Soapy Joe’s is not liable for “vehicles older than 5 years”, we also have a disclaimer posted that reads: “we are not responsible for antennas that are not fully removed or lowered by you, power antennas, antenna fins, or antennas that cannot be lowered or removed.” Our poster is posted at every tunnel entrance at every Soapy Joe’s location for our customers.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your claim, you may reach out to our Site Manager who will be more than happy to go into the details as to why your claim has been denied.

Re: Revdex.com Complaint-ID#[redacted]
I am in receipt of the Revdex.com letter stating that you lost your debit card and that a purchase was made at our
express car wash facility on 2/16/14. If you have ever visited our establishment, you will know that our...

facility
is a full express car wash with XPT (Xpress Pay Station) terminals. The XPT terminals are similar to a drive-up
ATM machines. There are no employees that stand there to monitor credit card usage.
After stating this fact, I have gone through some extra time to look into the charge on your Visa. I have included
the details of the charge and even a picture of the vehicle that used it. I hope this finds that you will reconsider
your assumptions of our company and its procedures.
Please feel free to contact me directly for any further clarifications.
Sincerely,

What used to be a well run facility is now useless. Washed 3 times. First two the wash didn't rinse so third time I went and bumped another car. Had their stuff works as it should this would have been avoided. This is not uncommon. Multiple times I've been there and maintenance is down. This is the complaint... their equipment doesn't work as it should when it should. Try calling them and the service you get is less than the car wash. I've been hung up on, told to kiss their ( you can fill that in). I'm not the best customer but I'm a long time customer here for years. This isn't how you should treat customers regardless of the issue. These guys just told the guy I bumped into it was my fault. That's it. No process, no claim from them or even a call back as promised. Instead I had a soapy Joe's manager act like a claim manager for insurance?? Not sure if you'd want your car wash folks to determine that unless you go here. Very disappointing for a long time customer.

To whom it may concern:

sans-serif;">Soapy Joes Car Wash is not responsible for the damage which occurred to the Chevy Volt. We wash a few thousand vehicles on a daily basis companywide and have never had an issue with a vehicle gas tank door or in this case the charging port cover. We also wash many Chevy volts and have never had a problem with the charging port cover breaking. The charging port cover on this vehicle when closed has a locking mechanism which keeps it from opening, and the only way to open it is by a button inside the vehicle on the driver’s door. When those doors are locked they do not open unless someone opens it from inside the vehicle, and this is according to [redacted] the technician at Ron Baker Chevrolet. It is very possible that the person driving the vehicle could have accidentally or unknowingly opened the charging port cover, which is on the drivers door, as they were going through the wash. Soapy Joes Car Wash is sorry for [redacted]’s misfortune, but is not at fault for any damage.

I had taken my car in for a car wash at Soapy Joe’s on 12/9/2917. Upon exiting the car wash to dry my car, I noticed prominent and vast scratches that caused paint removal on my hood and spoiler of my car. Immediately, I went to find a manager and he guided me in filling out an incident form after he checked the cameras and confirmed, verbally and on my incident report, that no such damage was present before entering the car wash. Upon filling out the incident form, the manager of the location, ***, contacted me and asked me to bring my car in for inspection, in which he tried telling me that the damage did not align with the car wash mechanics. After explaining that there was absolutely 0 indication of any scratches before the car wash due to my car being parked in a parking garage at all times and explaining that I have photos of my car, which I posted for sale a month earlier and had a few people even come inspect, showing no such scratches from afar, *** agreed to escalate the issue to headquarters. For three weeks, I was bouncing around from one call to another, with my complaint being ignored. I finally called again and was told that *** and the district manager, ***, have denied my claim since the damage does not align with possible damage from a car wash. Clearly, this is a scapegoat from responsibility of fixing my vehicle; therefore, I am filing this claim here seeking compensation from Soapy Joe’s for repairs before seeking out legal services.

Customer Response • Jan 14, 2018

I have attached a screenshot from my gift card history showing that the transaction took place at Soapy Joe's National City on December 9th.

Carwash attendant neglected to guide me into the car wash tire rails correctly and in-turn damaged the drivers side rear rim. I brought it to the attention of the manager and we then both reviewed the camera footage and concurred that the damaged was indeed caused by a metal piece protruding from the tire rail entrance. He then filed an internal claim and told me that they would be in contact with me later to let me know the outcome. Now, just today, I get a call from a manager telling me that my claim has been denied because the guard rails are plastic. So it seems to me that they are over looking the fact that there is an uncovered metal part that comes before the guard rails that are covered with plastic coping and just wanted to deny my claim because they think there is nothing I can do about it - but there is I think - right? These guys are dishonest.

WARNING: if you buy the year in advance membership, it is non refundable even if you move out of the county. I am filing a claim with my bank for the charge, filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and will file a complaint with Consumer relations. do NOT buy the year in advance. stick with daily or monthly.

Just went to soapy joes with the coupon from Facebook for a free carwash, states good through may 1st guess what today is may 1st . Barco would not scan employees just said yes many of those today sorry nothing I can do. You can complain to Corp if you want.

Review: On tues june 24th I entered soapy joes car wash 1300 E valley pkwy, escondido ca. About a minute into the car wash I seen the cloths used for the scrubbing pull and grab my windshield wiper snapping it onto the windshield in front of me actually startling me. I proceeded to pull out of the washer I pulled into the vacuum area and tryed to wave down an employee. He told me to hold on. I waited for about twent minutes to for him to come back to me. he said "his name was [redacted] and he was the manager" .I told him that I had just seen the car wash clothes grab and snap my windshield wiper and break it almost completely off. He told me that "he didnt know that his car wash had even done that at all". As if I were lying. After a few moments He said he would look at it anyways so he and another employee proceeded to take both windshield wipers completley apart all the way down to the motor of the wipers. After a couple of minutes of messing with my winshield wipers they came up with conclusion that the carwash hadnt even broke my wiper, that my car was "just old and it was already broken when I got there", I had used the winshield wipers the day before and they had worked just fine. He said told me to go search for a new wiper bracket thats all it needed it was a simple piece,to bring it back and they would put it in for, he dismissed me just like that no offers to replace it themselves no offer to take my information down to dicuss it with the owner or anything I left feeling confused on what had just happened.I did actually look into replacin the small bracket, actually calling a deaIer ship thinking it was no big deal. They said I would need to replace the whole wiper engine costing me around$143.99dollars it isnt a extreme amount of money but feel if I wouldnt have gone to the soapy joes carwash my wipers would be just fine.since this incident my wipers are completely inoperable. The clothes pulled and broke my wipers right in front of me.I would only like the replacement of my winshield wiper motorDesired Settlement: I would like my winshield wiper motor repaired so that it may be operable, and for someone to acknoledge and take responsibility for what the car wash had done. PLEASE HELP ME..

Review: I brought my car into this location on 6/20/2015, having received a free coupon in the mail. My car was dirty, but not damaged in any way. When I pulled out, I drove straight home and got out to inspect the work. That is when I noticed damage to all 4 of the hubcaps on my car. I immediately emailed the info email address listed on their website with the issue. I received a response on the 22nd, from the Operations Manager asking to provide an image of the receipt and I did so, along with a picture of the damage. On the 24th I received a call from [redacted], the manager of this location, asking me to bring my car in to inspect. He also did say that he had video footage and that it was likely the damage occurred in the facilities. I brought my car in on the 25th and we went over it, having him take a couple pictures of the damage. After that, he said he could offer me a $40 gift card and I politely refused, saying that I could not in well mind bring my car to a place that had already damaged it before. He responded saying that the company was not at fault because I do not have Volkswagen hubcaps on my car. He then proceeded to peel one of the hubcaps off my car and take a picture of him doing so, trying to make it seem like they were not put on properly. I then left the premises and emailed back to the Operations Manager with what had happened. I received a response from him on the 26th reiterating what [redacted] had said. He stated that it is company policy that they do not pay for damage for "modifications". Nowhere in sight of people driving to the car wash does it say anything about "modifications" and the car wash not being able to do its job because of them. I have taken my car to many previous car washes before and have never experienced this problem before.Desired Settlement: Soapy Joe's has a responsibility to admit that the damage falls onto them and pay for a new set of hubcaps for my car. Their "company policy" is not in sight for drivers going to the car wash and they need to take responsibility.

Review: To whom a may concern:

I had my debit card stolen this Past Saturday in the San Marcos area. I had a charge from Soapy Joe's on my card that was not made by me. So obviously they did not check for ID when the card was ran as a credit, because that person did not have my pin. I am extremely disappointed that they do not take those extra 5 seconds to ask for prove of ID. Its showing me that anyone can walk in with any debit card and charge what ever they need at any given time. This to me shows poor work procedures from this company to its employees. I understand this business is a busy establishment, but that does not mean you cannot check for ID when someone buys or gets a service from them. This is just ridiculous.Desired Settlement: I would like and email back with an apology

Review: On Jan 05, 2016 I visited Soapy Joes Carwash as I do almost every weekend. So I drove thru and as I was to exit I heard I load noise from the rear end of my truck, could not see anything because of the car behind me and the vaccuum dryer. So I pulled out and went to go dry my truck and I noticed my Back windshield wiper had been broke off. I went to go tell the gentleman on call and he came and looked at the damage and told me his manager was not there. So I said ok can I send you pictures and you review your cameras that are posted at the entrance of the car wash with your manager along with the fotos I will take and text to you right now, he agreed. I then asked for management phone number and he gave it to me. I then called management Mr. [redacted] at [redacted] asked me the year of my truck I told him 2007, he said my truck is too old and they only repair cars damaged at the car wash that are no more then 5 years old. I disagree, I think since there machine damaged my car and its on video footage and I have pics they should pay. Please help me with this situation.Desired Settlement: I feel they must replace my whole back window wiper that their machine broke off of my truck. Ive been a nobel customer for years. They should fix what they break and I want a refund for my wash that I paid to them.
