Soapy Joe’s car wash Reviews (%countItem)

Review: On May 18,2013. I went to Soapy Joe's location for a car wash. After the car wash was completed I noticed my rear wiper blade and arm was gone. I spoke with Manager [redacted] (#[redacted]) and he took down Vehicle Incident report that same day and gave me a copy. They didn’t allow me to go in the car wash to locate the arm and blade, instead tried to cover it up saying it was and employee only area. [redacted] told me a manager would contact me. Two weeks went by and nothing happened. I finally called the main number 1-855-762-7956 and asked to speak to a supervisor. I finally got a call from [redacted]) and he promised he would fix the broken wiper blade and arm. Few weeks later I got that estimate in writing and it was about $325.00, I called [redacted] several times and he didn't respond to any messages. I called again and spoke with [redacted]) who assured me he would do an inspection at San Marcos Car Wash and that [redacted] had been fired. We agreed to meet on a Tuesday @ 9 AM, called him several times and he never responded and didn’t show up.Desired Settlement: $325 Cash compensation or pay for the repair. Their car wash damaged my car's rear wiper blade and arm and they are liable to repair it.

Review: When my vehicle went through their automatic car wash the mechanism in the car wash opened my Chevy volts charging door, broke an actuator and left scratches to my drivers side front panel. When I spoke to the assistant manager I was told to come back the next day to speak to the manager. When I came back to speak to the manager he got mad at me for calling my insurance company and bringing my vehicle to a body shop. [redacted] stated they have their own body work people and will not pay the outrageous prices insurance companies charge even if it's their fault. He said there was nothing he could do because he couldn't see the damage himself. He said they had cameras and that he watched the video and that in deed it happened inside the car wash but couldn't do anything because he didn't see the damage with his own eyes. I asked to see the video and he said it was at corporate office in national city. I explained my vehicle was at the chevy dealership in national city and they could go see the damage. I was again denied viewing the footage and turned away rudely by [redacted] the manager. I then called the corporate office and spoke with an Amy who said she would call me back but never did. [redacted] the person in charge a Chevy body shop in National city stated that a representative came by to look at my vehicle and also was rude to him in conversation about the damage to my vehicle. The damage to my vehicle happened on memorial day weekend and I find it extremely horrible that a company could treat our military veterans and active duty this way.Desired Settlement: It should be the car washes responsibility to at least pay for my deductible of $500 for the damages my vehicle incurred at their business.

To whom it may concern:

Soapy Joes Car Wash is not responsible for the damage which occurred to the Chevy Volt. We wash a few thousand vehicles on a daily basis companywide and have never had an issue with a vehicle gas tank door or in this case the charging port cover. We also wash many Chevy volts and have never had a problem with the charging port cover breaking. The charging port cover on this vehicle when closed has a locking mechanism which keeps it from opening, and the only way to open it is by a button inside the vehicle on the driver’s door. When those doors are locked they do not open unless someone opens it from inside the vehicle, and this is according to [redacted] the technician at Ron Baker Chevrolet. It is very possible that the person driving the vehicle could have accidentally or unknowingly opened the charging port cover, which is on the drivers door, as they were going through the wash. Soapy Joes Car Wash is sorry for [redacted]’s misfortune, but is not at fault for any damage.

Review: took truck to get a wash and something inside of power wash scratched the right side of my gmc 2005, it is about 36" high from ground, and all the way down side front to back it was done by small intervaluts about one & a half lenths. so I saw it right away at car wash told [redacted] the manager, he had me fill out a form & told me we will get right back to you, 10 days & no call , I filed a claim with AAA & they can not get patrick the owner to return any calls so AAA called again the manager said they will call right back & no call. this is how soapy joes of la mesa treats its customers ???Desired Settlement: I need that scratch removed I just paid $5000.00 for a new paint job and I have the receipt it was painted one year ago.

Response:

I had called this customer back the very next day and asked to bring the vehicle in so I can take a look at it. The customer sent in a friend with a picture of the vehicle and said the owner of the vehicle is out of town and can’t bring the truck in. There isn’t much I can do if I haven’t even seen the vehicle.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

no one has called about anything at all, they lie.

Regards,

Review: I went to get a carwash and my 2012 Honda Civic got damaged because it got stuck in the machine and . I tried to pull forward and I kept hearing scraping sounds and an employee came and pushed a button and told me the machine got stuck and told me my car was fine to just go home. when I got home I notice my car had a broken frame and a broken and loose mud guard/flap. I called them and said I should come so they could take a look. when I went, I filed an incident report and an employee told me the guard had a loose screw. His name was [redacted]. He screwed it in and told me [redacted] would call me the next day (5/18/13). I kept calling and 2 weeks later I finally got a hold of [redacted] and he told me to go to the Rancho San Diego location. When I took the car I was told that Soap Joe's hadn't caused the problem/damage and they were not responsible. I told them I wanted to review their video (since Pedro, another employee of [redacted]'s golf me he has apesadumbrado edn it) but he said it still didn't prove anything and that I had no evidence that Soapy Joe's had done anything to damage my recently bought car. I had bought my car 4/21/13 and the date of incident is 5/17/13. They are refusing to provide me with the corporate number and They are refusing to take responsibility to pay to repair the broken parts. what can I do?Desired Settlement: I would like for them to replace the damaged frame and broken mud flaps/guards. I am not seeking monetary compensation for time wasted or mileage. I just want my car to be like before I went to get a car wash at Soapy Joe's. Thank you, [redacted]

Response:

First and foremost, there is not any equipment in the car wash that even touches the bottom of the car. So it is highly unlikely for a vehicle to be damaged from the bottom. The damage that was on the mud guard was on the back side of the mud guard which is also very hard for the car wash to cause when the car moves forward not backward through the wash. After looking at the vehicle and seeing the damage to the backside of the mud guard, it was determined that it wasn’t possible for the damage to be caused by the car wash. Although we did NOT cause the damage, I told the customer that if she purchased a new mud guard we would put it on for her free of charge.
