A slick outfit that doesn't save you $'s
This So Cal Water$mart Rebate Program uses $ in their name to convince that they will save you money. They lead you to believe that they have been selected by LADWP to handle the rebate program for reducing your water bill. So they left a hanger on my door where you can scan their code to they can call to lie to you that you need them for this rebate program. So the guy tells me that they will install a smart sprinkler timer for $275 and I will receive a refund of $200 from LADWP a couple weeks after that. So it will cost me only $75 and will save $$$ on my future water bills. So he comes on the day of the appointment and brings a new Orbit sprinkler timer. He removes my 3-year old Orbit not-so-smart timer and replaces it. No doubt I was impressed with this new timer that I could control from anywhere (even miles away). He said how the timer would be the type of soil in my yard (he "guessed" clay in So. Cal), the weather (temp, rain, wind) which the timer would determine if water should come on or not and if so how much time), and also could manually turn on the water whenever you wish even if you are miles away. All this sounded great, so I paid him $275 (by credit card - I never pay strangers by cash, check or debit card). He said he would be the one to submit the form to LADWP for my $200 rebate.
So later I decided to check and discovered that this same timer can be purchased from Amazon for less than $100, and also that this LADWP program is available to the public and that SoCal Water$mart Rebate Program is the concoction of a slick outfit that makes out as if they have been authorized by LADWP to handle their water rebate program. So it dawned on me that I could have done this myself in which case I would have purchased the timer for roughly $100 and gotten a rebate of $200, so instead of paying these slick operators $75, I would put $100 in my pocket, a $175 difference! Additionally, I discovered that my soil is a combination of sand, silt, and clay, not just clay. I don't know if this matters in the long run. Also, I am still to find out if the timer really adjusts for time of watering and time of day in very hot days or windy days. If I don't get my $200 from LADWP soon I will be contacting my credit card bank about confronting these slick operators, as well as LADWP who may not be aware of this outfit. DON'T RESPOND TO THEIR ADVERTISING!

I believe this company is a total Scam, watchout!!!!
I signed up for the Smart Wi-fi based sprinkler Timer. I gave the installer a check for $200.00 with the understanding/promise that I would be receiving a refund check in the amount of $200.00 within 6 weeks. The installation was done on 2/12/20. Today's date is 4/14/20, I have not received any refund. I believe this company is possibly a total Scam.

Mrand Mrs***,Thank you for notifying us of the situationI reviewed the information you provided and that of our vendor and I have approved your application for the entire 3,sqftI apologize for any inconvenienceTo clarify your application was not denied it was requesting a second measurement as your receipt showed that you purchased "used" synthetic turfSince we are using public funds for this program we do not allow "used or free" synthetic turf as part of the program as we cannot allow people to make money off of the programSo the email was about your synthetic turf being "used" not that it was made of recycled material as all synthetic turf is made of recycled materialAs you can see your material costs for the synthetic turf are more than the rebate which is why we have that rule but make exceptions as neededSince you also, put in drip irrigation, and drought tolerant plants etc we made an exception We appreciate you participating in the program during this droughtWe have rebated on tens of thousands of homes and sometimes there are unique circumstances that need follow-up.Thx***?

5/18/I purchased a qualifying front-loading washer model [redacted] 5/29/Installation service was completed 5/30/I submitted the water smart application and received email confirmation that the application was received 6/8/I received the email that the application was approved and will take 6-weeks for the rebate check to be issued for the amount of $for High Efficiency CLothes Washer 7/30/I received the email that stated the check was issued and to allow days for the check to arrive in the mail 9/4/I still had not received the check in the mail, so I emailed SoCal Water$mart about the missing rebate check 9/5/I received an email response from SoCal Water$mart stating that the check was sent out on 7/30/and requested I confirm the address, which I did 9/6/I received an email from SoCal Water$mart stating that the check was reissued and to allow 2-weeks for arrival 9/19/I sent an email to SoCal Water$mart that I still had not yet re

As stated in my prior response, I understand the IRS issue, but the response still fails to address the other points made in my prior responsesMy reference to six months refers to the weeks it has been since I submitted the application, the approximate week before I can submit tax information, plus another 8-weeks to process the check, which totals approximately 19-weeks and that assumes everything goes properly from this point on, which I have no confidence will happen

We purchased a qualified Energy Star Washer/Dryer, and submitted all the rebate application, proof of purchase, and recent DWP and Gas bill for RebateThe Reference number is ***We have been going back and forth with email correspondence since Feb15, I kept getting an email saying that I need to send a recent DWP bill, which I did twice on 4/and 4/In addition, the email kept saying that I have already applied and received a rebate in (THIS IS NOT TRUE.)
