DIY SCAMMERS
Would give zero stars. Within the first year table started to separate a little and within two years the table top is completely falling apart, cracking and separating. I reached out to the owner via Facebook asking her why my table is separating and what we could do to fix it and prevent any further separation. I never got any response so later I tried to reach out to them on their Instagram page. I sent them the same message to their DM. I also commented on their most recent picture saying I have been trying to reach out to you about an issue with my table please contact me as soon as possible. I got no response still and since you cannot delete peoples Instagram comments they decided to delete the picture entirely. I was being ignored and not only that, but they have blocked me from their Facebook so I can no longer comment on any of their post or send them any messages. I decided to call the company and I left a voicemail saying I was interested in a table. The next day I received a text and replied that have actually been trying to reach out to you for a while now about issues I am having with a table you made for me. I resent her the pictures of the table and explained the issue. She immediately placed the blame on me not taking care of the table properly saying that I should have been conditioning the wood and that it may be a humidity issue as well as sunlight (mind you my dining room table is in a climate controlled house and not in direct sunlight although that should not matter). I asked her then if I was supposed to be conditioning the table what product she recommended me using. I never got an answer to that text message so that is when I decided to call her out on being unprofessional and how I know that she blocked me. When venting my frustrations to her she even replied with a laughing emoji. After much fight she stated that if I truly felt that it was a construction issue she would look at it and try to fix it.. when asking her what the fix would be she said that she could not tell from the pictures and would have to see it in person. I posted my issue to a woodworkers blog to get professional opinions every single one of them agreed that it was a construction issue and could easily tell what the issues were just by looking at the pictures. They warned that this company obviously doesn’t know what they are doing and are learning on peoples dimes. If people that have never seen the table before can clearly identify what went wrong with the construction phase she should be able to tell me the same and how to fix it. Unfortunately, the only fix is to completely remake the table top altogether. Something that this couple clearly doesn’t know how to properly to begin with. Do to that and their complete lack of professionalism I do not trust them to bring back my table to “fix”. Do some research (bbb.org, Yelp, etc.) and you’ll quickly find that you should purchase elsewhere!

BY DIY scammers I mean they are very dishonest and they are obviously self taught and still have a lot to learn.

Appalling construction and customer service
BUYER BEWARE! If you’re considering buying from Southern Age Gypsi, then I’d highly recommend you save your money, time and sanity and use someone else. Two pieces of the four we ordered were unexpectedly made using rough plywood. They also ask for you to pay everything in full before they start building anything. Even though a one month delivery time was promised, they held our money for 3 months before delivery. At some point during this month time period, the owner just simply stopped communicating with me, even after numerous contact attempts on text, Facebook messenger and calls. She finally contacted me on Facebook after a few weeks, but only after I reached out to her husband privately on Facebook. She never apologized and just said it was COVID related (which was strange because she was posting on her Facebook business page the entire time).

After all of this, we finally received our furniture. We ordered a table, desk, loft bed and media cabinet. The desk was brought to us with all of the wrong dimensions and the construction was appalling. The media cabinet construction was the same. We asked them to take the desk and the media cabinet doors back and redo them. They did re-deliver those products but the construction was not much better. The desk drawer is crooked, has panel gaps and the stile and rail joints are not flush. We asked them again about making these products up to the same standard as they made the table. She assured me that she will come and do what she could to make it right, but again after several contact attempts, we’ve yet to hear from her. So right now we are left with furniture that is rough with splinters and looks like it hasn’t had a full coat of paint.

In July of 2018 I purchased a table made my Southern Age Gypsy for $2,000. It was delivered in August. After one week I contacted the owner regarding the paint already peeling off of the chairs and the stain lightening in the table top. The owner responded and came out to fix the chairs. She stated that the place on the table top was simply how the stain took; however, over time the spot continues to grow. In March 2020 I messaged the owner again with details showing how every chair had paint rolling off of it. The paint is not chipping, it rolls up. The way old paint does. Also, the paint used was not washable. All dining room sets have washable paint. This cannot be wiped off with a wet rag without making the chair feel tacky. The owner responded with apologies and that she would come out and take a look/ fix it. It was also implied my treatment of the set was the issue. Once again, these are not knicks in the paint, or scratches. I waited to hear back from the owner, but was never provided with an esimated date. When I messaged her again she stated she was going to replace the entire set. I still have record of this message. Owner stated she was not working over the next two weeks, but upon return would provide with an estimated delivery date. When I did not hear from her again I contacted her and received no response.

We used SouthernAgeGypsi to build our kitchen & dinning set and LOVED their work. We went to their shop to discuss design and they were VERY easy to work with. They finished the job and delivered on time and in the time frame they gave to us!

I contacted Southern Age Gypsy regarding a sale, which has since been deleted from their business *** Page. When questioning their sale pricing, I identified they are increasing their pricing claiming sale prices and being dishonest regarding their pricing. First red flag was they didn’t list the pricing on the ad, wanting to private message everyone who commented on the sale vs providing direct pricing. When I obtained a quote their was such a price gap between pricing from a post only one day apart. Then when I asked about references and reviews they claimed they never have had their reviews on and could provide references. After researching reviews on this company, seeing unfavorable feedback from customers and seeing they have turned their reviews off on their facebook page from a consumer placing feedback....seems this company lacks honesty, when I questioned this they blocked me. Seems they wasn’t happy with me finding out the truth about their reviews and inconsistent pricing. When I shared with them my concerns they gave me a thumbs up and blocked me. I have pictures from the communication and have posted them online as a review. I also shared my experince with others and was very surprised that many others shared the same experience and concerns, sharing their communications where they were mislead and dishonest pricing, many shared they felt this company was full of scams. I wanted to share my experience to ensure others are aware of such behavior, make sure you read about them...and questions why they don’t have their reviews turned on?? When I looked for ways to list a review of my experience, I saw I was able to leave a *** Review, when I l listed my *** Review it was very concerning that right after I listed my review two postive reviews got posted, which seemed to be FAKE reviews. Of course I am not able to confirm if these are fake, I can only idenfity they were posted directly after mine and after they deleted their sales ad. A company who had one negative review by a customer 2 months prior on their *** Listing, then I listed my review and two postive reviews were left, which have zero other reviews to any other business. Seems they wanted to post FALSE postive reviews to try and improve their *** Rating which is very low, currently 2.6. Seems they are try to hide their bad reviews, what business doesn’t have their reviews on??? They have negative reviews online regarding the quality of their work, poor customer service and dishonesty. I feel it's very important to have knowledge of a company prior to doing business with them and when I discovered concerns they immediately wanted to block me as I didn't exist, yet prior to having these questions/concerns they were very quick to give me pricing and wanted to collect my full payment right away.
