Deana and Angel were very knowledgeable and helpful to make me understand the benefits of the program. They did all the work of contracting the credit card companies to get interest free and determine a reasonable payment. They called me often to keep me informed on how the progress was going. Now with all their help I will be debt free in 5 years. I can't thank them enough for all their help. It's a wonderful feel to have extra money each month after paying all my bills knowing the balances are coming down. I always keep a check on*** and I have enjoyed watching ny credit scores go up, almost hit the 700. I thought it will take me forever to ever get to this point. I thank God I took this call and listened to the man that explained everything to me. Michael B-W*** has been very good with all of his knowledge. I will say if it were not for him my credit would have been a disaster. He has been very patient with me. He has handled everything from start to finish. Very professional with me. I cannot say enough about this company. WOW they have saved me from myself as far as my credit is concerned. It is worth every penny I spent. Very hard working. I can be kind of hard to deal with sometimes but they on the other hand they have just been very nice and super helpful to me. I honestly don't know how else I would have done it with out Michael W. The other great thing about this company is that they will help you in the event you get into trouble with another card even after they have worked all the cards. Good for life. I was contacted by Specialized Consumer Strategies (SCS), I think by email but may have been a phone call, in any event, they contacted me, and indicated they could help me negotiate better terms for credit card debt. They were quick to have me sign an electronic contract and part of the arrangement was to withdraw $1,000.00 from one of my credit cards as the "advanced" fee. The contract also stated I would need to pay an additional $1,050.00 in $50.00/mo installments. I have not paid any of the $1,050.00 "remaining" fee as I believe I have been taken advantage of. SCS has not met several of the contract terms, including providing a written payment plan, copies of letters and responses from the credit card companies, etc.I doubt that SCS contacted the credit card companies, as the credit card companies continue to contact me directly. Rather than help me, the SCS "service fee" added $1,000.00 to my existing debt. Right after I signed the contract SCS stopped replying to my emails and it has been over 60 days since their last response. In a recent phone call I told SCS I was dissatisfied and wanted to end the contract. The staffer responded "You can't do that, you signed a contract!" Rather than ask what my concerns were, they tried to intimidate me. The contract is no longer valid as SCS has not held to several of the terms, and even stopped responding to my emails. I can't find anything on the web about SCS, and they are not listed with Revdex.com. I did notice that a non-listed busines was on the Revdex.com site (Sunshine Coaching Services), with the exact same initials and the exact same address and telephone as Specialized Consumer Strategies, and that their "business" is "credit debt services". It is difticult for me to believe that this is not the same business or the same "management." I believe I was taken advantage of in a desparate situation, and that SCS did not honor the contract.

Desired Outcome

Refund Reimburse immediately my credit card account in the amount of $1,000.00, waive the remaining "fee" of $1,050.00, and acknowledge that the contract is terminated with no further obligation on my part. If they immediately reimburse the $1,000.00, that would, in effect, end the contract. I have copies of emails that SCS hasn't answered in over 60 days and can demonstrate how SCS has not complied with the contract.

We have refunded him however, he signed the contract and he was suppose to follow some steps that he was not following. We laid out the plan that not only did he receive he had to respond to it that he agreed to the terms in order to even move forward. The bigger issue is the day we receive his letter he stated he would not file any complaints if we did what he asked however he filed this complaint the same day. It is sad that people can file false claims we followed what we promised we can not make any client continue to do what they need in order to achieve the goal. If they change their mind or forget it should not be blamed on us because we have always reached out to this client he wasn't returning any of the calls. We wish him well and hope that he will respond that he should not of filed this as his letter claimed he wouldn't.

My main concern was to have the $1,000 "fee" reimbursed, and, according to my online credit card acct, it was reimbursed. That is why I clicked "yes" to accepting their response. I do not not agree with the rest of their statements, such as "I" did not comply with the "agreement". Immediately after signing the agreement, they stopped all email communication with me for over 60 days and never provided a written "plan of action." If anyone did not comply with the agreement it was SCS. Although I consider SCS a disreputable company, by reimbursing my acct $1,000 I consider the matter settled and that the agreement is now null and void.

October 2015 I joined SCS hoping to improve my financial situation. I paid my $1,550 up front and agreed to follow their instructions.
Their contract states "While SCS does not promise specific results, SCS does guarantee to identify a minimum of $2,500 in overall savings with 12 months of the intake date." In fact my indebtedness is almost $10,000 higher than when I started with them. Here it is a year and a half later, I'm having difficulties in getting my questions answered (by email--no phone appointment). At this point in time I've been waiting for almost 2 months for confirmation of an appointment. Almost half of the time when I did have an appointment the counselor was out sick. Questions go unanswered and help non-existent.

Desired Outcome

Refund the $1,550 I paid up front. Pay me the $10,000 I've lost Pay me $5,000 for the extra interest I've had to pay since I joined SCS

When we started working with this client we helped her to get her remaining debt to 0%. She had a balance on her Barclay's account of $14,717.00 that was at 0% that she had already accomplished. However, this 0% ended in 2016 which increased her payments from around $150.00 to $398.00. We were able to help her a year later get that account into a program that lowered her payment to $324.00 and the account will be paid off in five years as opposed to taking 42 years at the high rate. Because she barely had to pay the higher payment she is blaming us for the payment increasing, however, we kept it from staying at the higher payment by getting it locked in at a 7.99%. She also has added additional loans which we had advised her that she should wait until she was in a better position. She believes that since in 2016 we obtained a new Chase Card with a $3,200.00 credit line for her of which she does not owe anything on at this moment, that we increased her debt by getting her a new card. We did not get her any new cards that she owes anything on. We helped her with some fraud issues she believed she had and we helped to address them as well as the issues she had with her monitoring systems. We had originally asked her to send us all the information she has on the collections and the contracts for the monitoring systems so we could go through them to see the best way to proceed because she was contracted with two for five years and one was about to end. She never called us back and instead we received the complaint. We then called her again and went over the information and asked her to again call us when she had all the paperwork together of what she wanted to work on going forward and then she filed another complaint. I have personally spoke to her and have explained to her that we have lowered her payments and helped with anything she wanted help with and also helped her obtain programs that help with long-term to pay off her balances. She is trying to say the debt she added is because of us, however, we have worked with her and her budget to not use cards and she is still using them stating we got her the cards which, of course, this is just not the case. We have only helped her and we can provide the proof to show the accounts we helped to pay off are still at a low rate and also show that she has added over $10,000.00 in additional debt to accounts that previously did not have balances. On her Barclay's account alone she will save over $9,000.00 in interest and finance charges she will not have to pay. We have spoken to the client and we are sending her this information as well and will continue to help her in any way she needs help.
