Spectrum Business Services Reviews (35)

Review: We received a call from Spectrum Business Services back in Oct 15, claiming they were a tech for our printer company and that according to their contract, we were due for Toner. Since they posed as our maintenance technician, we had no reason not to order, assuming it was part of our contract which included toner. Once we realized that this company was NOT associated with our printer contractor, we immediately returned the toner and informed Spectrum we would not be paying as we were returning the toner.

Since then, Spectrum has continued to send us multiple requests for payment on the same issue. When we reached out to them to explain that we sent back the toner, and would they please stop invoicing us, the gentleman got extremely livid. He began screaming at me personally that we weren't allowed to just not pay. I explained that we didn't want this toner (which we were scammed into purchasing), we never wanted the toner, and we wouldn't be paying. The gentleman started using a slue of profanities. He was insulting and mean. He screamed at me that they have us on tape ordering the toner and that he would "sue our as off." I hung up the phone.

After hanging up, I received 15 total emails, all in within three minutes of each other, from this guy, with the same invoice. Over and over and over again the emails came in. Harassment.

My supervisor called directly and this company (NOT A REAL COMPANY) called her the B-word, the C-word, and every other possible bad word you've ever heard in your life. It sounded to me like the gentleman was mentally unstable. He was obscene, vulgar; we have never been so disrespected in our lives.

Here are my major gripes. First of all, toner doesn't cost 500. Second of all, where is this company getting their product from? I would bet the house they're stealing it and reselling it. Furthermore, these people threatened me and my team, they were rude and barbaric and should absolutely not be allowed to do business in this country.

Review: An individual called our company misrepresenting their services as our current toner provider and was also familiar with our copy machine. He stated that our previous toner cost was around $500 and that the new sale rate would be discounted to $469. The toner was shipped to us and the invoice was sent couple days after. We contacted Spectrum Business Services for returning instructions and the individual explained that once we faxed our invoice, it would take up to a week to receive an email back with a return label. We faxed the invoice twice and never received an email. We called Spectrum Business Services once again and requested for the return address. The individual refused to give us an address and hung up on us. We attempted to return the package but were unsuccessful.Desired Settlement: We would like an address to return the product and not be billed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.Consumer Complaint #[redacted] I have received an email from UPS per the company, Spectrum Business Services, with a return label to return the product back to the company.

Regards,

This company is a complete scam. When I called regarding the invoice they sent me, the customer service rep "Bob" cursed me and hung up. Upon repeat call, he told me to read the invoice and fax a cancellation and he would take care of the invoice.

He was extremely rude and knows he is scamming people and businesses.

Review: [redacted] is a title company operating in [redacted]. We use a [redacted] copier and the cost of replacing our toner is included with the monthly service agreement. Somehow, Spectrum Business Services has gotten the name of our company, our serivce contract numbers and is billing us for toner. We did pay one invoice in October for $398.97 and I have called Spectrum Business Services to request a refund because the cost of the product is included in our monthly service fees. The gentleman on the phone said that the company did not give refunds and hung up on me. This company is a scam. When I did more research, I found that Spectrum Business Services is not a legitimate provider for [redacted] products. THE COMPANY IS A FRAUD! They have billed us for an additional $1,955.70 in toner.Desired Settlement: I will be filing suit with the Attorney General's Office in [redacted]; however, I do want to make others of the fraudulent activity of this company.

Review: Our office manager of [redacted] was contacted on the week of January 19, 2015 to discuss placing a toner order. The individual who phoned our company did not identify himself in the duration of the phone call. This call was a misrepresentation of services as the representative referred to previous business with [redacted]. The individual was aware of our current copier and model number as well as personnel within our office and referred to our supervisor by name. The individual called specifically to discuss a rate increase and quoted a limited-time discounted rate for a toner sale. The quote was approximately $390.00 USD which was represented as a discounted value in comparison with the new 2015 rates. The representative communicated that we would receive a follow-up call to confirm the order, which was received in two business days. The toner was delivered the week of January 26, 2015 and an invoice from Spectrum Business Services followed the next business day. After receiving the shipment it was clear that this transaction was a misrepresentation of our current copier contract.. Our office manager phoned Spectrum Business Services to discuss the invoice on January 30, 2015 and faxed the invoice. After calling to check the status of our invoice review the representative at the number listed on the invoice harassed our office manager and refused to review our invoice. Our office manager tried multiple times to resolve the issue and return the toner and each attempt was unsuccessful.

NB: The address listed on the invoice is slightly different than previous Revdex.com complaints. The company is listed at P.O. Box 838 Lake Forest, CA 92609 USADesired Settlement: [redacted] wishes to return to the toner product to the company and not be billed.

This company has SCAM written all over it. About a week after I received our new copy machine, I received a phone call from "[redacted] in Customer service". He told me he was with Copier Source, our copy company, and that he would be filling our toner that was low. He even knew my copier and my levels. I was told that the next day I would get a confirmation call and to just say "PO is verbal and that I am authorized to order". He said don't worry if you get an invoice, it means nothing". I just received an invoice for $398.97 for one black toner that is supposed to be free for me or $50 if you buy in a store. I immediately called my copy supplier and told them what was the deal, as I did put in an order with them for the other colors. I scanned them the invoice and was told this was not their vendor and was a scam. I looked online and noticed others fell prey to the same scam from the jerks. When I called Spectrum about the fraudulent practice, I got yelled out and was called a liar. This company needs to be shut down. I am sending back the toner, at my own expense.

BIG SCAM, GOOD LUCK TRYING TO GET ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THEM!!! We have been more then reasonable trying to get a credit for a $500 ink cartridge for them. Called them ask for a credit as well as sending them a P.O.D. for the returned ink cartridge they sent us. He refuses to help at all or send a proof of return to me. Continues to call our store and harass and swear at us as a joke then hang up. This has SCAM written all over it and you should file a complaint with local law enforcement as well as B.B.B..Their phone is 1-800-769-1862 or their fax is 1800-604-2054. Their address is now listed as P.O. BOX 838 LAKE FOREST, CA 92609 USA

DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM AND GOOD LUCK IF YOU EVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE [redacted]!!!

Review: telemarketer misrepresented their company and relationship with our current copier service provider. shipped toner and said we would not be billed as it is included in our existing service contract. then submitted an invoice to us for almost $400. we contacted Spectrum attempting to resolve by obtaining address to return item and was met with a rude. offensive customer service rep who failed to provide the address. he stated there were specific written requirement and instructions we must listen to return item. he did not provide the address, he refused to allow us to speak with his supervisor and on two or three separate calls attempting to resolve the matter, he hung up the phone on us.

we believe that this is a scam telemarketing program to ship and bill for un-necessary or un-ordered office supplies and/or copier supplies.Desired Settlement: we just need a address to return the item

Review: We received a Ink and toner package via UPS for a Hewlett Packard Ink LaserJet. We did not order such item and all attempts to contact the company have not been responded. We received an invoice a few days later saying that we owe $498.97. The invoice states they are not seller nor manufacturer of such equipment. This is obviously a scam that we want to make you aware of and ensure that a collection is not issued.Desired Settlement: To have the company contact us, verify when and who ordered said item. Then we would like to ship said item back and zero out any balance owed. Thank you.

Review: Our company has received three bills from Spectrum Business Services for a total of over $7,500 over the last 7 months. The bills are for 24 toner cartridges, of which we have only received 2. The main problem is that we never authorized Spectrum Business Services to be our toner provider. We use a local company, but Spectrum has been billing our corporate office at a different location, thus our corporate office never knew we were being scammed and our office here in Kansas City never even know we were a customer. After discovering the issue, we quickly contacted Spectrum Business Services and a man named "[redacted]" answered the phone. The conversation started by inquiring on why we were being billed for thousands of dollars worth of toner in which we have never received. [redacted] immediately was defensive and then proceeded to scream, cuss us out, and hang up the phone. We called back again and were told to fax him a hand written letter explaining the issue and he would resolve it. We have never heard back from Spectrum Business Services and are out a lot of money. Essentially, Spectrum Business Services somehow gathered our information and scammed us.Desired Settlement: A complete refund of the amount we paid. We never authorized this transaction and never agreed to do business with Spectrum Business Services. Even worse, we never received the product we were billed for.

Review: We received an invoice from Spectrum Business Services for toner for a copier that they fraudulently sold to a new employee by claiming that they were our supplier for those supplies. Upon receiving the product they were contacted and the product was returned to them via their instructions. They are now claiming that they didn't receive the product back and refuse to issue a $0 statement because we have rejected and returned the shipped toner. They have a gentleman call first to tell the person that answers the phone that they are our toner supplier and all she has to do is confirm the order with the next gentleman that calls. So the first caller hung up and a minute later someone else called to accept our fraudulent order.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a billing statement showing a balance of $0. It would probably be too much to ask for them to return the $20 it cost me to FedEx the first toner back to them. I wanted to send it with a shipping method that would allow me to track it to prove that they received it.

Review: After I ordered our toner from All Copy (our regular supplier) SBS called posing as All Copy with information about our printer saying they were out of our toner and would have their provider call me shortly to confirm the order again and I was given a code. The next call came in like they said and they told me the code and that they would send the toner. This whole time I thought I was talking to All Copy as they claimed. Our actual All Copy toner arrived and then another toner arrived that I did not recall ordering. We were sent an invoice for around $400, when our Controller investigated the situation and told SBS we did not order it they insisted that I had ordered it and they would keep billing us. We will not pay for it because we did not intend to order it, it isn't the correct toner, this is clearly a scam. Our Controller called them and politely informed them we need to return it, the man told her to fax the invoice to 800-[redacted] and he would send us a shipping label then hung up on her. We sent the fax and got a confirmation that it had arrived at their fax number. A month later we never received a shipping label and a past due bill came. Our Controller tried contacting them and couldn't get through. Eventually they picked up and it was the same man, he refused to give more company info and told her that he did not receive the fax then started mocking her and told her if we don't pay he will send the bill to a collections agency. We sent the fax again multiple times to make sure it went through, each time we received a confirmation email from our fax system that the fax was successful. At this point I started researching the company business and found others have had these same issues. The man called back and spoke to our Controller again, he was insulting and abusive using language, not letting her speak, since we sent the fax more than once he informed us he wont get to our fax for months and will send our bill to Collections instead then hung up.Desired Settlement: We would like a UPS shipping label sent to us to return the product so the invoice can be cleared.

Review: I received an invoice today for a toner cartridge for my Chicago office (invoice#[redacted]). I am the only person in our corporation that orders product from vendors. I did not order this product and called to speak to the company about this invoice. A Mr. [redacted] answered the phone and I told him who I was and that I was calling about this invoice. I stated that the invoice was made out to our parent company and that we do not order supplies as the parent company and I wanted to know where he got our company information. He stated that the name on the invoice was who ordered the product. I told him this person was not employed with our company at the time the order was made and again restated that if I had ordered something it would be in our company name and not the parent company. At that point he got very angry and confrontational, he stated that he was tired of dealing with "stupid [redacted] that couldn't remember ordering supplies and that it was my problem." I told him that I was neither stupid or forgetful. He then said that "he didn't care if I was stupid because being a rude [redacted] overruled that and I could shove the toner up my [redacted]" and he hung up. I then called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and he told me he was the owner.Desired Settlement: I want someone to investigate this deceptive company. They obviously are skimming data from somewhere and then sending product out hoping we will just pay the invoices. I will be sending the product back if we still have it, or ever received it and I will place every where my review of this sg company.

Review: We are a non-profit domestic violence agency. When we were approached 2 yrs ago about switching our phone service to Spectrum (Charter at the time) we were clear about making sure our phone lines did not record the phone number when calling out. This is a protection for our clients. We were told we would receive this feature, and we did until about a month ago when it stopped. We found out by accident that it had stopped and the numbers were showing. No notification by Spectrum. When calling Spectrum to report the issue thinking it needed to be repaired, we were told we have to pay $5 per line ( 5 lines) in order to have this, that an automated billing audit discovered the issue and dropped this feature. They did not tell us it had stopped, putting our clients at risk. They said they didn't have to notify us in writing, and that it's not their policy to do so. However, upon being forced to pay for the feature, they told us they were sending us a written confirmation of our "new" feature.

We were clear when we ordered this service that we needed this feature, and was specifically told we would receive it for the price they quoted, no extra charges. We have a bundled service, phone, internet, and cable for our shelter.

I first reported the problem we had on Nov. 5, and did not get a call back. I had to call them and after many attempts to try to "fix" the problem over the phone, I was referred to the "lead" person who then told me that we would have to pay for the service.

Spectrum put our clients at risk by not telling us about the change and us finding our accidentally that it had. they also had no intention of calling us back to let us know if the issue was resolved. I had to call them back. The service was promised to us at the time we signed up, and Spectrum says we never should have had it. They were being deceptive at the time of purchase if this is the case, or they are lying to us now because they can't fix the problem.

Want to see the honor their promisDesired Settlement: I want Spectrum to honor their promise made to us regarding the caller id blocking when we first signed up. We were getting this all along, and we should continue to do so without the extra charges. I want Spectrum to notify us in writing whenever a change in our service occurs, something they said they don't have to do, only when it's an "account" change. I want them to stop lying to potential business customers about the services they say they will deliver.

Review: Fraudulent business practices. Extreme profanity and rudeness from "customer service". Failure to respond to voicemails or answer phone calls. Failure to send return label.Desired Settlement: Send us the return label and credit our invoice to reflect what you actually sent.
