Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Referring back to my original complaint, I requested that
Split Rail promptly repair my fence.  They
have offered to make the repairs for $500.
I am disappointed because it was my understanding that this type of
repair was to be handled at no cost.  My
disappointment is compounded by the fact that I have already paid $2,000.00
over my contracted amount as part of the installation of this fence.  However, after going back and forth, I will
agree to pay $500 for all of the repairs.
I am requesting prompt (within 10 business days) scheduling and  prompt completion (by August 31, 2016).
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Tell us why here...We installed a fence for [redacted]  (our customer) who is  the neighbor of [redacted] who has filed this complaint.  We did not do any work for [redacted].While we do our best to stay on the property of our customer, there are some limitations to being able...

to complete the job correctly without stepping foot on the neighbor’s property.  There was some wood stacked between the houses while the fence was being replaced.  Everything was cleaned up at the time of completion. This fence was placed on the customer property per the request of our customer. The original fence had pickets facing in.  When our customer ordered the new fence, they requested the picket be facing out, which meant the fence panels were placed on the other side of the post.  This resulted in the neighbor’s fence being within a couple of inches of the air conditioner.  We offered our customer (her neighbor) a few suggestions to remedy the situation:1.       They move the air conditioner2.       Our customer moves the fence3.       We take only the one section and change it at our expense back to facing in which would give the [redacted] the space they needed for their air conditioner. Our customer [redacted] is paying the $500.00 himself to have her air conditioner moved away from the fence as he did not want to move the fence or change the one panel to be facing differently from the rest.   We also explained we are not responsible for damage to any underground sprinkler lines as we are unable to know where they are when digging.  We only dug on our customer’s property and can only assume the sprinkler line crossed the property line.  We have spoken with the installation crew and they adamantly deny they broke any lights, or even touched any lights. While we believe we have adequately responded to this complaint, we are prepared we are prepared to send the [redacted]’s a check for $150.00 to help pay for the  damaged lights they believe Split Rail fence broke to resolve this issue”. Thank you.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/02) */
We have spoken with customer and come up with a satisfactory resolution-customer will let Revdex.com know they are satisfied when completed.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 12, 2015/08/03) */
This ordeal is finally over after nearly four...

months. Split Rail agreed to waive the bogus change order and move the fence to the correct location. The fence was moved the week of July 13th, and the entire fence was finally stained July 30th.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/07/22) */
[redacted] contacted an attorney and we responded to the attorney's letter. We then tried to contact [redacted] numerous times to try and resolve the issue with no response. We are now going to court versus [redacted] to resolve this issue.

Although we believe the damage to the fence is due to high winds we will repair the fence at no charge.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/30) */
customer [redacted] called in measurements for special order gate. These measurements were confirmed in an e-mail. Special order gate was manufactured correctly and per company policy -no refunds on special orders.
Customer signed and agreed to...

have the gates built per his specs.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Per spec (invoice attached), gates were to be 36 x 36 inches. Gates were, in fact, 32 x 32 inches. That is not conforming to spec. Delivery refused.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/07/17) */
After further review we have chosen to credit the amount the customer requested of $114.50
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2015/07/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The business refunded me the money as requested.

We would like the opportunity to go to this customer's home and stain the fence.  In addition we will deduct 1/2 the cost of the power wash as well as credit $50.00 for the mulch.  Let us know if we may do this.  Thanks
