Stamps.com Reviews (30)

I tried to get a free scale (heard from the radio) so I put in my order. I canceled my order of the free scale right after I placed the order. That was in Oct. 2015.
After 4 months, when I was reviewing my credit card statement, I found this $15.99 monthly charges. Only then, I realized that I actually have been signed up with a paid service that I was not aware of.
My advice is not to try anything or get anything for free. They always turn out to be the most expensive. I blame myself for not being careful and diligent reviewing my statements.
Hopefully it will be helpful to other customers.

Stamps.com is skirting on the edge of being a scam. You put in your credit card because you assume since you know you have to buy stamps that that's how your going to pay for them, however what they really are doing is setting you up for a monthly fee. While sure it is stated in the fine print that there is a monthly fee after a certain period, that kind of information shouldn't be in the "fine print" it should bold right out in front. I had no idea I was going to pay a monthly fee until after I signed up and read through all the details. Cancellation was easy though, call the phone number and an automated system quickly and easily cancels your order. However, I don't believe this is best practice and I wonder how many people they have "stolen" money from not realizing what they got into. a quick internet search will show more than 1000 complaints about the exact same thing. so I'm not the it here. While it might be a good deal for some who ship a lot - BUYER BEWARE.

I too didn't realize I was signing up for a $15.99 monthly fee until months later. I was unable to cancel online or delete my credit card information. Once my credit card expired and they could no longer charge my card, I started to get Emails. I was on vacation at the time and couldn't take care of it until I got home, by that time, I got a late fee. When I called to cancel my account, they did wave the next months $15.99 fee, but was still charged the late fee and that months fee. I let the representative know that I was cancelling because I NEVER USED the account and she still tried to sell me on a lesser charge of $4.99 a month and asked me how I was going to mail things now, which I replied "Go to the Post Office". They Emailed me a final bill and I wasn't going to give them my credit card again, so when they Emailed me a final bill, I asked them where I could mail the payment. I couldn't find an address on their website and they didn't respond to my request. 2 months later I get a 2nd notice in the mail, when I never received a 1st notice in the mail. Beware when a company asks for a credit card when you don't think you are buying anything, you may be agreeing to something you don't realize. Do get scammed out of your hard earned money.

I had been with them for years then I called to Cancel I did not write the cancellation number down like I should have. So by the 3rd month I see that I am still being charge I called and spoke with the supervisor and in so many words called me a liar. and hung up on me. the 4th month still trying to charge me they sent me a statement I sent the statement back asking to please cancel the account I have they saved to my computer and the 5th month same thing now they tried to run my card again for $111. I am almost ready to find a lawyer this is rediculous. Will not ever use them again and I will put blogs and posts all over the internet regaereding this. If anyone knows a good lawyer please let me know.

I signed up on a Sunday, fully aware of the 15.99 monthly fee. I wanted a postage scale, the one that was supposedly "free" was inadequate for my need. You cannot see the scales until you have signed up!! I clicked on the next larger one, it was almost $60. I would NOT pat that when I could get one cheaper. So, I tried to call them to cancel my account but it was Sunday so they were closed. I called Monday, cancelled my account, told them I wanted nothing to do with them. Tuesday I got an email that a scale had shipped!! I looked at ,y bank account and they had taken $60.98 from my account!!! I called again today, they said my account was closed but I didn't cancel my order. I NEVER ORDERED IT because it was too expensive. They told me when it arrives I should refuse it. This company is BAD news. I'm so sorry I bit and they reeled me right in.....

Stamps.com is a scam, no legitimate business service refuse to mail a receipt for monthly services and does not allow you to cancel online. They were charging me $15.99 unbeknownst to me until reviewing my credit card account later. Calling in to cancel they then make a hard pitch to continue the service -- now am worried I will have to watch this closely as it appears from others out there they do not always cancel your account even if they say so. And in the fine print it says your account is active for a whole year after -- my guess is if you even sign back in they use that as an excuse to reboot the account.

I mistakenly signed up for this service naively seeking a cost for shipping something internationally. After realizing I was paying for this service, I called to cancel and request a refund. They cancelled but did not agree to a refund.

I should have read the fine print. There is a mandatory monthly fee to maintain your account. If you want the ability to print your stamps, you must remain subscribed.

Also, I thought I was buying actual stamps, but when when they arrived in the mail, I realized what I really bought was fancy stickers that I still needed to purchase postage for.

Not only that, but then when I went to go print the postage onto the sticker sheets, the got all messed up. So, I had to send it a letter with the sheets of misprints through the mail in order to get it examined for a refund.

A total waste of time and money in my personal experience.

While the Revdex.com continues to give this business a thumbs up, they have underhanded marketing practices. After logging in (credit card required) my husband went to the post office and ordered stamps. He did not ever download software or make any transactions. He was hospitalized and no one knew he was being charged until after we closed his checking account. They then started billing hi past due amounts. They did not want to close his account because he had a past due amount.

Even after I told them he was now severely disabled and had been in the hospital, following his first contact they tried to make me feel like HE was the one doing something wrong and that we were wrong for refusing to pay the past due balance! On an account he never used! they finally waived the past due amount.

I feel so scammed. I don't know how I fell for it. Stamps.com is an absolute scam. I needed to print some postage around Xmas since we are overseas and not near a post office and was directed there from the USPS site, made an account (the only way you can get to the postage part) and then never even used it (since I needed their stupid special paper that took a month to arrive), and got suckered out of $16/month for a subscription I didn't even know I signed up for. In hindsight I guess there were tip offs (free scale I didn't get or want), but I really had no idea. Shame on me and shame on them ;( At least I noticed when the first charge appeared and am only out one $16 charge..,...
