Dear Ms. [redacted],

Since filing your complaint [redacted], our General Manager, has called you 3 times and left 3 messages.  If you no longer wish to be in the vehicle you currently have we can discuss the options with you. However because of laws around financing this cannot be done in a public forum such as this.

Please call us back at ###-###-#### or come in to the Dealership at any time, you do not need an appointment.

I do want to comment on your experience with our Service Department.  It was unfortunate that you were delivered a vehicle with any mechanical issues.  I have looked at your service history and discussed the matter with [redacted] our Service Manager.  It is not uncommon for a service department to send a vehicle out to another dealership if there is difficulty identifying the problem.  That is what happened with your vehicle.  [redacted] said you were not financially responsible for any of the repairs and you were provided a loaner vehicle for the entire time your car was with us.  He said that since it was a windshield leak he held the car until it was completely dry.

This is my family's business and I read and respond to every complaint and positive review we receive.  Please contact us so we can resolve this issue for you.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

Great Place to get clean cars. bought my car in a really good price and its still running great. I love this place

Called business spoke with Tony. He stated that he has spoke with Mr. [redacted] about the complaint. To resolve the complaint Mr. [redacted] is going to be able to pick a different vehicle today.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference...

to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Tony has offered an exchange for the vehicle, which would be a second trade in. I've purchased parts for the first vehicle that I traded but wasn't compensated. For the second vehicle I'm already $[redacted] plus on parts and labor. My warranty is still active and honestly I can't afford having to put more money into another trade in or the cost of an upgraded vehicle. The second vehicle was listed a thousand dollars lower than the vehicle that I initially purchased and paid for in full. I didn't argue for a refund in the price difference because I was assured that if I had any problems with the second vehicle it would be fixed. Tony has fixed the problem that I had with the rear window switches, however there are still two minor issues that I have with the vehicle that needs to be resolved. What I would like is to receive compensation for all of the parts and maintenance that I have receipts for and a continued effort on the part of Tony to do as he promised.

Responese to Complaint: I have thought long and hard
regarding this complaint. I have tried for several weeks try ng to reach this customer.
My calls have all gone ignored and not returned. She did approach me with questions
about the financing and I told her that I could explain everything that...

had
happened. She became angry and my question was; Did she want to return the car?
Yes I did say that. I didn't know what she wanted to do because she was angry. She
left until I saw her about her tag . We had sold the car for an individual, and
I as waiting for the title. The same day she called I received the title and I
called her to see if she wanted me to bring them to her or if she wanted to
pick them up. She came and picked her up and nothing was said about anything else.
I tried to work out a solution with this customer that both parties can be
happy with before receiving a complaint from the Revdex.com. After receiving the call from
the Revdex.com I again called and was told that she was busy and I asked her to please
return my call. That was on Monday. Again I heard nothing. For the next 2 days
I called and no one answered the phone. Finally on the third day her mother
answered and said she would return my call. Thursday, Again, nothing. On Monday
called from my cell phone and her number has been disconnected. I believe that
we can come to a reasonable solution, If I was able to talk to her. I would
like to keep her as a loyal customer since I did like her and I did everything
I could to keep her in the car for her and her children. I will personally take
care of this situation in a timely matter. I ask that if I haven't heard from
her in 14 days that this matter be closed again I've made ever attempt t I
resolve this but she will n t respond.

Hello,I scanned the requested documents. however I'm having trouble with extracting them to send in the provided field on this page. Please, if you may forward a fax number or direct e-mail address to that I can send them to you.

Revdex.com has spoken with the [redacted], [redacted], regarding your complaint. He has requested that you give him a call at [redacted] to discuss bringing your case to resolution. When you call, please ask for [redacted].

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Ms [redacted]
Good day. With regards to the issue with the windscreen I acknowledge that the problem was indeed resolved. However how the matter was dealt, left me ratber dissatisfied and very much disappointed. The fact that I had done business with your company before and had dealt with [redacted] I was surprised how tbe matter was expedited. The service manager [redacted] really did not take the time to resolve the issue with the windscreen. Coincidentally it had to be resolved through another dealer. Be tbat as it may, my complaint now is more so dealing with the safety issue of the car. The mileage on the car for reasons unknown had started to go in reverse. Upon leaving the car lot the mileage was 65704. Today the mileage is approximately 67000 miles. With the prior issues and the length of time taken to deal with them, my question now is how can this current issue with the mileage be resolved? I have no other means of getting to and from my job. I rely heavily on my car. I would like an amicable solution to this problem. My suggestion due to the car safety was getting into a different vehicle because the mileage situation is a major concern to me. Any documents needed to verify my claims can be submitted. Thank you.
Yours Respectfully,
[redacted]

It was my understanding that was I going to get a new motor not used one, while the used motor will have a warranty I do not trust that Star Auto Sale will full the warranty if anything does go wrong with the used motor in a timely manner as they are proving now with fulfilling the warranty on my current vehicle. They have not provided me a time frame for when I would receive my vehicle back, and I do appreciate them giving me a loaner vehicle while I wait I still have to make payments on a vehicle that I currently cannot drive, and at this time I would like to resolve the issue completely with Star Auto Sale and settle with them for the amount of my loan as well my down payment.

Review: I purchased a 2007 Dodge Magnum from Star City Auto Sales for $3500 (the agreement was for me to pay an additional $1000) on September 5, 2015. When I reached my driveway the oil light came on and the car started knocking. I checked the oil and it was full. I went back to the dealership on September 8, 2015 and told the owner what had happened. He said he could get me an engine for $1600. I told him I wanted my money back. He said he was not willing to give my money back. I returned the car to the dealership on September 9, 2015 and told him he had sold me a lemon and that I wanted my money back. He said he would not give my money back and that he did not force me to come into the dealership and buy the vehicle. I left the vehicle there and left. I received a call from the owner on September 14, 2015 and he asked me to come in to speak with him about working out a deal. I arrived at the dealership and the owner offered to give me $2000 of my money back. He said there was a $1000 fee for paperwork and $500 fee for something else(I can't remember what he said it was for). I rejected his offer and told him I want all of my money back. He said no.Desired Settlement: I would like $3500 refunded to me.

From: STAR AUTO SALES [redacted]] Sent: Monday, September 28, 2015 11:59 AMTo: InfoSubject: complaint ID [redacted]To whom it may concern its Waheed Ismail the owner of Star Auto Sales. INC. I sold the 2007 Dodge Magnum to Mr. [redacted] on 08/24/15 and he came back on 09/8/15, and he complaint about the vehicle engine that the engine is completely gone on that vehicle, so I told Mr. [redacted] we can get you a good use engine for $1600 and we will pay for labor, and you just pay for engine since you bought the vehicle AS IS. He refused my offered and the next day he drop off the vehicle to our lot with broken windshield, So I start the vehicle it start with some kinda noise. I took the vehicle to LIFE TIME MUFFLER, they diagnose and find out that the noise was coming from its timing chain. We got it repaired with one year warranty on that part, and cost us 1300, and I call Mr. [redacted] 09/28/15 and ask him what he want to do with this vehicle. He said he want his money back. He don't want the vehicle, I told him there is $1000 restocking fee. He has to pay us at only half of it $500 since he broke the windshield on that vehicle. I just want him to be happy from us and solve the problem. He said that he want his every penny back and he wants to hear it from judge, and he called me liar and hang up the phone on me. Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The owner stating that he sold the Dodge Magnum to me on 8/24/15 implies that I picked the car up on that date. I paid him a $2500 deposit on 8/24/15 and $1030 on 9/5/15. I picked the car up on 9/5/15. As mentioned in my initial complaint, when I got home the oil light was on and the engine was knocking. I could not take the car back on Sunday and the next day was Labor Day. Therefore, I spoke with him on 9/8/15 (the next business day) about to problem. He immediately mentioned that he could get me an engine for $1600. He made no mention of paying for the labor to install the engine. I'm of the opinion that he knew of the existing problem by his knowledge of the cost of the engine. When I returned the car on 9/9/15 he said he was unwilling to give me my money back and that he did not force me to come in and buy the vehicle. I find it odd that we move from needing and engine to diagnosing the problem to be a timing chain. Therefore, I called a Dodge dealership who said it is unlikely that a timing chain would cause the oil light to come on or the engine to knock. As far as the windshield is concerned, it was already cracked when I picked up the car. The for sale sign covered to break and I didn't notice it until I got the car home. Any honest and reputable business would readily refund the money. This dealer is operating a business with the intent of defrauding customers. In each of my visits there have been customers present and complaining about a vehicle purchased from them. $1000 restocking fee????!!!! With his total disregard for customer service I'm sure he will not be in business for long. I did call him a liar but did not hang the phone up on him.

Review: I purchase a car from star auto sales for 11,531.02. I put down 3,500.00 for a down payment . The amount that was financed was 8,240.77 with an APR of 24.99 which the finance charges came to 3,141.59. The amount of payment would have been 32 the amount of 354.60 with a last which is a smaller amount of 35.16 making it a total of 33 payment. With the down payment and the full 33 payment the amount I will be 14,882.36 the full total after the 33 payment and down payment. When the Bank sent me my papers with the information I needed to make my payments . The paper stated that I had 51 payment which come to 18,084.60 after all the payments. I called and talked to the bank and the bank stated that, this was all the information they received from star auto sales. When I called and spoke to the Lady ([redacted]) that sold me the car she stated that it was all the finance charge that came about when everything went through the bank . I then told her that all the finance charges would have been added to the contract that was given to me nothing will appear different from what me , her and the bank have. I took and showed her the paper she stated that she made a mistake and she didn't know how to fix it, she had to speak with the owner to see if they could correct it and she stated that it would make it easier if I just turn the car back in so they could tell the bank I didn't want it. She also stated that she didn't have my tags for my car and my tags runs out March 2 2015. She stated that she would have to make me some new thirty day tags until she receive the title from the man that they sold the car for.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my down payment of 3,500.00 and my first payment of 354.60 back if they cant fix the problem. If they can fix the problem I will like to keep my vehicle.

Review: I purchase a truck for Star Auto Sale on Dec. 17,2013 and gave them a $3,000.00 down payment. I had truck for 2 weeks when it stop working I call Star Auto Sale because I had a 3 month warranty well that we all my problems started. I call to advice them that I was having issues with the truck [redacted] the [redacted] tells me without even looking at the truck that it’s not his problem and hugs the phone on me. I called back and [redacted] answers and said to bring the truck in I told him that it didn’t start he said that it’s not their problem. I had to find someone to help me and bring the truck in I drop the truck off on 1/6/14. A week goes by without any communication on their part and every time I call no one knows anything. Finally [redacted] the son's owner call me and tells me that the time chain needs to be replace. He tells me that it will take about two weeks to get it fix. Well it’s been over two months and anything. I call every day and I go up there but it’s always the same thing they are fixing it it’s going to take time. [redacted] the owner is extremely rude and gets annoyed when I go up there and check on MY truck. 2. [redacted] is clueless as to what is going and is rude as well.Desired Settlement: I want them get fix the truck and give it back to me already I need a car. I have to rely on friends and family to get around I'm 6 months pregnant and need transportation. Also I want them to extend the warranty there’s something fishy about them that I don’t trust. I wish I could get out of this contract.

Response:

At this point the delay has taken longer that first expected due to the motor. At this point there is no time date on when the vehicle will be fixed. However, the customer has been given a loaner and can keep the loaner until the repair is done. The repair will be replacing the motor with a used motor and will be paying the cost of that as well as the installation.

Review: I bought a 2005 [redacted] town n country mini van from star auto sales on 09/22/15. when I first got to his lot we were talking possible finance options I told him that it would have to be in house because I just got turned down at another car lot because my earnings were high they were short time construction jobs through my local 1130 laborers union he looked at my pay stubs and told me not to worry he was good at getting loans to go through and if it didn't he would do in house financing for me no problem. well to keep this short enough to fit I will keep it as simple as I can for now when the loan didn't get approved he told me no problem come in when you get letter from unemployment and no problem we will work it out well when I got my letter I took it down there and he told me that he wanted 900 more down and he would do in house financing other wise he was going to charge me 1200 dollars of my 2000 down then they aggressively and physically took keys from me and took there van back and put me in fear I. and I got no money back from them and they kept van.Desired Settlement: I want full refund of my money down and for premium I paid for insurance plus a tune up oil change I had firestone do on vehicle he never said he wanted van back he never called I called him and he never was worried about getting van back it was always no worries well work it out and this was his plan the whole time the highest he offered me was 1500 when the cops showed up because I called them for protection from him and his sales team I don't believe that is fair or legal I never missed paymt

Review: I purchased my 2011 [redacted] through Star Auto in March 3 2014. And since then I have nothing but unresolved problems. When I purchased the car the mileage on the vehicle was 65704 miles. I have made several trips to my job and even to New York and the mileage on my car just recently 66000 miles. Which to me makes no sense. I had a leak in my car which they discovered after three weeks of bringing it back and forth to them, was due to the front wind screen. Might I also add Star Auto could not figure out what was the problem until I brought it to another car dealer who made the discovery. I explained to them I dont feel particularly safe driving this car especially with the mikeage on the car doing a reversal. To no avail. There customer service if you would call it that seems like they are only good gor taking your money. After making my worries known and explaining to them I would prefer getting another car with the money I had put down on this vehicle. They ecplained to me I needed an additional $3000. Which to me is ridiculous. Given all the issues with the [redacted]. I honedtly dont care to get a newer car or better I just think with hiw I was treated and the problems with the car most notably the mileage it is only fair I wiuld be given an option to choose another. It hasn't even been a year and the problems I have had with this car. And Star Auto refuses to help me.Desired Settlement: I just want a car that is safe with the same amount of money I had paid down. This car is not safe and the problem with the mileage reversal is a no no for me. I felt I hsve been cheated out of my hard earned money and I have been very respectful to these people. And they have in no way ttied to assist me as a customer.

Dear Ms. [redacted],

Steve and his staff at Star Auto are just simply the best. I had a recall on a part for my car and went to the [redacted] dealership to get it fixed. Once they fixed it they gave me a list of things that needed immediate attention. They quoted me over $1500 to fix everything and said it would take 3-4 days to complete. I took my car for a second opinion to Steve and brought my quote from [redacted]. He looked over everything and said yes this all should be fixed but it would only take a day to do and was 1/3 of the price. When I got my car back it was done perfect and with no issues. Thank you Star Auto for a great experience and I will definitely be back again, and trust your staff enough to send friends and family.
