Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Reviews (%countItem)

Always on time and very professional, cleaned up behind them self and did a excellent job on my new air conditioning!!

Company states I will have to pay for the warrenty to be activated and continues to charge me for work that was not done properly by them per staff
I purchased a new ac unit and install on my 2nd home. I have had nothing but trouble and multiple charges from this company. I had a warranty with the ac unit and am now told that I have to pay to activate the warranty. Per companys own employee the install of ac and duct work was not done properly and this has caused all my problems. I have even needed to have an electrician come out and redo the electrical work done by the company employee. This had cause much stress and money for me. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Desired Outcome

I would like the heat to work and have no additional charges along with the warranty valadated.

Mr. issues have been fully resolved.

Stay Cool Air promised a $800 rebate if a more expensive system was purchased. After that system was installed I was told there is no rebate.
On 9/27/19, Mark from Stay Cool Air came to my home because my air conditioner stopped working. At that time he told me I needed a whole new system, even though they had done a total maintenance on my system just a few months prior. When reviewing the options of different size systems, Mark explained that there was an $800 rebate on a much better system and it would make sense to purchase that because between the rebate and a more efficient system, it would more than pay for the more expensive system in about a years time. I agreed and purchased that system. There were a few installation issues, but after the unit was turned around because it was put on the pad backwards and a new fan installed due to a banging sound, all was working well with the unit. I started calling the company to see about how to get my rebate and no one knew what I was talking about. No calls were ever returned to me. One call I was lucky to get the owner, Robert, and he always had an excuse as to why he never returned my call. He made a 3 way call to a girl in his office and told her to check on a rebate and he would get back to me. That never happened. I have lost count of the many calls I have made since then. I believe it is an answering service that takes most calls as they were very nice and efficient as they even read back all my info, so I find it hard to believe my messages were never delivered. Finally yesterday I called and spoke once again to the owner Robert who brought Mark, the same man who sold me the unit in on our call. At that time Robert asked Mark if he remembered (from 9/27/19) telling me about a rebate. Mark responded no, and then Robert asked if he might have meant a "buy back for $800". Mark replied yes. Robert explained what that was to me because those words were never mentioned to me before. Robert said that the $800 comes off the "top price" at the time of purchase. I told Robert that that was not the verbiage Mark used, he said I would be getting a rebate. When Robert questioned Mark about where this information is, he said I just wrote it on a scratch paper to do the subtracting and wrote down the price after the buy back on the receipt.
Then Robert asked me what my receipt said and I told him that just a price was put down and there is a space to put an entry for discount and that spot was blank. He asked if he could go back to the office and look at the paperwork and call me back and I agreed. That was yesterday morning, January 16, 2020 at approximately 8:45 am. I never got a call back, which was not a surprise to me, as history seems to repeat itself with this man, so I called him back this morning and his excuse for not calling me back was that "I got busy and things were crazy. So what is it that you really want." I replied that I want the $800 rebate that I was told I would get. His response was "I am not going to do that. If that is what you want, I will come and remove my system." I told him I would just pursue this further and he hung up the phone. Really. That is what he thinks is the right thing to do????? I have financed the system through Rheem and they have already been paid I believe. Is this a bait and switch deal or anyway to treat another person? I think not and unfortunately I was lied to.

Desired Outcome

$800 rebate that I was told I would get

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Apr 16, 2020

On the day that the customer was given the option to buy a new system from our company the technician called in to get pricing for the consumer and see if any rebates or incentives were applicable at that present time, (Manufactures run different promotions through out the year in which we pass *** savings on to the consumer at the time of purchase of any discounts are applicable) there were several discounts given to the consumer at the time of purchase. Any and all discounts, rebates, and incentives were applied at the time of purchase..
If there is anything we can do to help the consumer at this point we would like to. We do understand that the consumer isn't always aware of the incentives the manufacture has applicable at their desired time of purchase and how this can affect pricing at other times within the year.
We also apologize for any inconvenience this has cause our customer and would like to come to an agreement to make it up to her.

Stay cool contacted me in reply to an Angies list inquiry I sent on line. Wanted to get a a quote to clean out my AC ducts. Technician showed up and gave me a price. Agreed to that price. Then asked me t pay upfront and that the duct cleaner guy would be back tomorrow to do the Job. Said I would pay after the job was done . Did not not want to prepay.
Result: They never showed or called me again. Wrote them off as a scam business. Fast forward 3 months. I just received an invoice for the work that was never done.

They sold me on what was probably unnecessary work, and then charged me $3000 more than what was due. They lied about cashing the check when I called
I was billed $6000 for a new heat pump. I gave a $3000 check as down payment. (11/6/19). Service was done the next day. An invoice was sent on Nov. 8th, by email. I had to pay it by credit card, as we were traveling back to Ohio by then. When the card statement came, they had charged the full $6000. I call them 11/22. They said they the check wasn't cashed, so they would return the check. But, when I went to my bank a couple days later, the check had been cashed 11/15, before I had called them. Now, no one returns my calls and the person who answers can't help me!

Desired Outcome

Refund the $3000 I was overcharged!

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Dec 02, 2019

This is the first time this has been brought to our attention. If there has been an oversight then would like to make things right by issuing a refund, please contact the office and ask for Mike. Thank you

Customer Response • Dec 03, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I called stay cool two times today, and asked for Mike. I spoke with Kim and RJ. They both made excuses, "He's not in yet" - 10:16AM. "I will let him know right away. It's 3:18 now. He will call you back soon."
I tried at 5:38 and it went to the service.
I also called one Nov. 22 -1:54, spoke to Kim then, too. I explained my problem in depth. I was told the check was not cashed and they would get it from the technician and shred it. I said no, please return it to me, and I gave my address in ***
I called again on Nov. 27 (4 times), after a visit from my bank to get a copy of the canceled check. It had been cashed on Nov. 15th, a week before my Nov. 22 call!
I would like a cashiers/bank check issued to me, and overnighted to my Bay Village address, which I gave the office on Nov. 22, when they said they were returning my check..

Customer Response • Dec 09, 2019

Stay Cool has credited my *** for the $3000 overcharge. The owner, Robert, called me on 12/5/19 and the credit showed up on my account on 12/9/19.
He was very amiable on the phone and couldn't explain why it took several weeks to address this.

I called and ask for duct cleaning. Tony came to my house, checked the attic and told me that it's mold everywhere and system is very old and fallen appart. He told me it's coast $9700 to replace, made me pay 1/3 of this amount. Next day they came took duct out, it was almost New! They told me it's damaged by rats, I saw two small cuts, which they made by taking the duct out probably. Next morning I had a professional pest inspection, it was no rats, no signs of them at all.
They told me they can't install duct in two rooms as they said in invoice they will. Price went much up with every suggestion they maid, we agreed on split system, next day they told me they are not able to do it also, they can't figure out how to place them. They left. I can't hold of them. They do not answer my texts, emails and calls.
They are very nice at first and gone after they take your money. Unprofessional, dishonest people.

Company no responsibility.fraude . never arrive time.julio ,Dustin, robert. Bad ð??? .company is crazy

salesman issued a contract and when the technician arrived refused to adhere to the contract. he called his boss and the boss canceled the job
A date was set to perform the job. The technician did not show up. An alternate date was set. When the technician arrived, he refused to do what was stipulated in the contract. I called the company and was told that the owner said that he could not do the job for the stipulated price and instructed the employee to leave

Desired Outcome

Since this company is not reliable, I would never use them. I believe that the Revdex.com should put this on their record so that other people do not fall victim to their antics.

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Nov 12, 2019

When we arrived at the job to do the work the first estimate would not cover the price given. Customer wanted us to do job and we could not complete it do to the job being extremely under bid.

Customer Response • Nov 12, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I hired this company to do the job. I have a contract to that effect. You can't quote a price and when you come to do the job, you don't want to do it for the stipulated price. This is not the way business should be conducted. The sales person should check before quoting a price. I hired this company based upon the quote given and the contract signed.

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Nov 15, 2019

If you would still like the work done then we will come do it for the price you were quoted we apologize for any inconvenience

Customer Response • Nov 22, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This resolution is too little too late. It is over a month since this incident occurred. A reputable company would have done the job at the time it was supposed to. At this point, I can't trust this company to do good job since they have proved that they are not reliable.
I hope that there will be a notation about this company through the Revdex.com. This company cannot be trusted!

Failed to properly complete installation of A/C June23 Air Condtioner....City of Plant City could not sign off on permit Aug 16,2019
Purchased June 22,2019, installed June 23,2019. 2.5 Rheem 360 14 Seer...Model#: RP1430AJINA..Serial#:WXXXXXXXXX. Problems began around August 5th, spoke with someone(Scarlett) about unit not cooling, registering 90 degrees inside. Adjusted thermostat, to no relief; called back and spoke with different ones(the owner's son, etc.) Because pipe was NOT completely sealed when unit was installed, water started leaking, flooded front bathroom, which water came through exhaust fan, started draining inside bathroom wall. I have been back and forth with this company up until August 15th about scheduling City Inspector to come out to them lying about "someone will get back in touch, we will MOST DEFINIETLY send Tech out for diagnosis,) which they did BUT he did not fix problem at hand. I have read the 1reviews which was absolutely DISTURBING!! THIS IS THE MOST IRREPUTABLE Company I have ever dealt with. Also, on August 16th, 2019 when City of Plant City
Inspector came out, he "yellow-tagged" them FOR 1).Failing to drain lines...leaking 2.) Mastic NOT SEALED PROPERLY. 3.) CONDENSATIONS LEAKING IN PLENUM. Inspector told me if Stay Cool Air doesn't come out to fix issues they will be "red-tagged" Once AGAIN, I called Company and was told the same thing, a bunch of lies. I will NEVER RECCOMMEND this Company to ANYONE. I HAVE PICTURES OF MY CEILING PEELING in the garage from water damage which one of the techs PROMISED to come back the nest day to repair and paint! NO RESULTS!

Desired Outcome

Come out and fix the aforementioned issues. This has been very inconvenient for me having to go up in the attiv every so many hours to drain pan to keep from overflowing, which I have been doing now for 6 days. If they are not going to finish the job them I MUST seek further action.

Customer Response • Sep 05, 2019

Repairs were made on August 23 and 26th...still waiting for inspector to come back out. I stressed to them if second job is not PROPERLY done I will be contacting Revdex.com again...everything seem to be working ok.

I had an AC issue and had Stay Cool come out to do service on my AC unit in Sept. 2018. They no showed me the first day, the salesman comes out the following day and states he can have a tech out the following day to do repairs, only to have the tech arrive without the needed tools to complete the service. Stay Cool, then doubled the maintenance plan to 2 years. In June, I reached out for to have a tech do the maintenance service; he no showed the first day, called 2 hours late for the second scheduled appointment and had to reschedule since he wouldn't be able to make it out until almost 11pm. Once tech did come out, he informs me whoever did the repairs didn't do it to code and he made the repairs. Less than 3 weeks later I call again for maintenance, and once again they no show the first appointment, reschedule the second appointment, and then the tech arrives and is told by a supervisor not to do any repairs, then leaves. My girlfriend and I have been told by several different techs and supervisors that they will call back or will be out to do the service only for it to be ignored. I believe this is a failure to meet the contractual maintenance agreement.
Product_Or_Service: service maintenance

Desired Outcome

Refund I have given Stay Cool many opportunities to make good on their service agreement. I expect a refund to cover the cost of hiring a more professional air conditioning company. This lack of professionalism and regard have been an inconvenience and stress to my family.

My new install AC unit was so poorly installed it does not pass inspection. They have been here 9 times to repair a supposed new unit. Now they do not answer any phones or return any calls.

Repeatedly trying to collect for work that was not accomplished. Tech never arrived to do the work.
Contracted Stay Cool to preform duct cleaning on my new house. Received a quote for 729.95 on 3/13/19, and paid a 50% down payment as deposit. Tech contracted to do the work never returned to do the work. Multiple calls went through a call center and were never able to tell me where the tech was. Calls to the company to refund my deposit were never answered, and I was forced to contest the charge with my credit card company. I am now receiving harassing phone calls from their billing department trying to collect the other %50. The first two people I spoke with about the collection attempt said they would speak with the owner. The last time I spoke with someone was July 5 2019, and was named Christine. They called again today, July 29, 2019 and are now on the third different person calling trying to get money.

Desired Outcome

I would like the Revdex.com to assist in getting the company to stop trying to collect from me and assurance that they will not damage my credit report by reporting false information.

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Sep 13, 2019

This reply was taken verbally by Revdex.com:The billing the customer received was sent in error. The customer does not owe us anything and we have removed them from our system.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Stay Cool started our job September 2, 2018. The job is still not finished. We have had issues with communication, quality, and now harassment.
September 2, 2018 Robert came out to do an estimate. We were quoted for install of a new Rheem system, moving our handler from the attic to garage, new duct system, U.V. sterilization system, all new vents, and blown in insulation for $10,100. We agreed and we financed $9,600 with *** bank and were to pay the balance of $500 upon completion of the job per our agreement with Robert. The next day September 3rd 2 men showed to do the job. They installed everything with the exception of the insulation and new vents. They also needed to add an electrical outlet for the condensation pump and find a place for it off the floor. Before they left we were scheduled for insulation for a few days later which was finished. Afterwards insulation started blowing out of our guest room vent. We attempted to contact the company but did not hear from the company again until receiving a letter in October. In the letter we received our permit and were told to call to schedule an inspection. On October 17th my husband called to schedule and inspection and never got a call back. On October 23 I called the company and someone did call us back and schedule the vents, condensation pump, and insulation to be finished/fixed on October 25. We thought the job was finally done but later that day the vent in my living room over our television fell from the ceiling. I attempted to contact the company and never heard back. On November 28 we got a text from a woman named Jill stating again that we needed to schedule an inspection. I called her back and we immediately scheduled to have the vent fixed and preliminary inspection done a few days later. A man showed up and fixed the vent, taped a few things on the air handler, fixed a few things on the unit, and then said we were all set and left. A few minutes later he came back and told us we actually were not ready and they would schedule us for the job to be finished. That was the last we heard from anyone at the company until June 21, 2019. My husband who is in the Army Reserves was on a training in New Jersey and received a text message from a random phone number. He forwarded me the text to handle since he was out of town It was a link to a payment site stating we owed $500 for services performed June 21, 2019. As soon as you click the link the information is all filled out other than your card info. I immediately called the company and explained our job was not finished and was told they could plainly see that in their computer system. Someone named Julio called be back and scheduled to come out Wednesday but did not give a time frame. On Tuesday June 25th I called the company to get a time frame and was told they had no access to the techs schedules and someone would call me back I of course was never called back. Later that night my husband got another text message with a link to an invoice for services provided on June 25, 2019. On Wednesday June 26 I waited all day for someone to show up and no one ever showed up or called. I tried numerous times to contact the company and got a busy signal for several hours. I never heard back from the company. On July 1st my husband received a phone call from the company and the person who called said something along the lines of "Hello i'm calling because you owe me $500". When my husband said no he did not because the job is not finished she argued with him until finally checking in their system to see its not done and had someone call him back to schedule us to be finished. In the time since September 2018 we have been making regular payments to Synchrony Bank for our AC system install though the job is not even finished. In that time also the job has been considered abandoned by the county and our building permit is currently expired. I could not find the status of the permit online and had to go into the permit office to find that information and also be sure I am not responsible for the $500 fine and 60 day in jail penalty for not properly closing a permit.

Desired Outcome

I would like the business to finish the job, pass inspection, and close the permit on our house. I also would like to be compensated for my time, aggravation, and 2 years of free maintenance which I will not be using.

Robert called us on Friday September 13 in regard to our complaint. We went out of town for the weekend following but told Robert we would speak to him Monday when we came back. On Monday September 16 we attempted to call and speak to Robert. He texted asking to call us later because he was busy at the time which we were fine with but we have not received a call back.

We would like to make things right for the *** family. Unfortunately due to their schedule and our busy schedule we never seem to be able to get ahold to one another.
Regardless if they can provide us a day during the week that we can come to there home to make things right it would be much appreciated!!!!
We look forward to making this a more enjoyable experience!!!!

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Since the previous response in September the company has made no attempt to contact us until 11/12/19. Nearly 2 months later and seemingly the company is attempting to blame their extremely poor communication and customer service skills on us. Currently because of past experience I do not accept the response of the company and their poor attempt to shift blame onto us. We have someone available daily to be home for the company to come by and have for the full 14 months this process has taken so far.

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Nov 23, 2019

On Friday 11/22/19 we were able to go to the customers house and fully satisfy their needs on there new air conditioner unit. The job has been scheduled for pasco county inspection next week.

To the best of my knowledge the customer is now completely happy with the work performed and has no further complaints.

I would like to thank them for letting us come make things right

After seeing mixed reviews of this company I decided to make the call anyways and also had another company come out to look at my system. To say the least I was not at all disappointed in this company. Everything went as smooth as can be unlike the other company I had called. Tony G came out and was absolutely amazing and informative he did his best to get me the best deal possible. He was a man of his word and I will recommend this company to everybody I know for now on. Hands down best AC company that I've come across in my 30 years of owning a home.

When you think of Ac companies you think of the horror stories of them conning people out of money. My experience with Stay Cool is the exact opposite. Tony came out got straight to the problem. It was my decision to just replace the system because every summer it's a problem . My wife and I were very pleased and impressed with this company and how smoothly everything turned out. Thank you Tony and thank you to the install crew you guys were very clean and install was great.

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating, LLC charged me 706 to repair my unit but after my cc was ran additional 608 was needed to repair unit
On 3/3/19 , I contacted Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating, LLC
To service my unit because, the A/C wasn't coming on. A service technician by the name of Mark came out to service my unit. Before he looked at my unit he was trying to sell me a brand-new unit before even diagnosing what the issue was with my existing unit. Mark quoted me a price of $706.00 with additional $50.00 for servicing the unit for additional year. After I paid for the parts and service I asked Mark if he could return the following day because I had a persisting plans. He informed me it would only take him 20 minutes to repair. After I left he called me and said it would be additional 608.00 for a new board. The owner Justin contacted me 4/1/19 and informed me on of the price and I could get a refund If I wanted. I called owner back on 3/3/19 and informed him to issue a refund and come pick up parts. As of 4/5/19 I have yet to receive a refund or any communication with owner.

Desired Outcome

100% refund of the amount that was charged to my credit card

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Apr 05, 2019

We went to the customers home and did a service for Mr ***. In the middle of the call he left, and my tech tried to call him and text him with no response. The next morning he asked why his air was not on I explained that there was more work that needed to be done. As a courtesy which is very uncommon practice I told him we would return his bad parts get our new ones and refund his money. He wanted it done the next day but unfortunately our schedule did not allow this until 4/5/2019. We called him and told him this and he became very irate on the phone cursing and yelling. So I stopped the call. We have since returned items and refunded his card gladly.

Customer Response • Apr 09, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The Tec did not give me a proper quote before I paid for the repairs. I was quoted for $706. After I paid for the services I received multiple text and voice mails. When I paid the amount that was quoted for the repairs I was told there would be additional $600 on top of what I was already paid. This is Deceptive practice. As, I have yet to receive a refund.

Give this company an F. Kept calling them and told them it stIll was not running right. Their one hour service stinks. Never show up in an hour. Called once said he was coming never called never showed up.The guy J-- that came out all the time said there was nothing wrong with it. Guess what, have no Airconditioning anymore thanks to them. It is only 4 yrs. old. Paid a lot of money for this system. Now they have destroyed It completely.
The only reason I put one star is because if I didn't my review would not go through. Worst repair service I have ever conducted business with.
Sincerely
Very Very Dissatisfied

Tony, Is a great man
, very helpful makes you understand every thing.. very personable

Within the last year we had staycool replace our air conditioning in our home this cost over $23000. We have had nothing but issues.
Within the last year we had stay cool replace 4 of our air conditioning in our home for XXXXX$. Since then we have had to have them out to the home more than 12 occasions due to the air conditioning not working. Robert B. was our sales rep and tried to help out. We have had many people out and they would have to come back multiple times. Last week we had them out again and he said we needed another $1200 wire to fix something else.

Desired Outcome

We were suppose to have 2 years of maintenance and I would like some sort of resolution and refund for the fees we paid and for our trouble. We have hired another air conditioning company as I thought we needed someone else to look at the system and check it out.

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Feb 27, 2019

We have no desire to deal with Stay Cool further. The New Owner had set up a meeting with us and never showed up. Same old MO!

Stay Cool Air Conditioning & Heating Response • Nov 12, 2019

The two years of routine maintenance that Mr. speaks of were given to him free of charge with the new air conditioners that we installed for him.
However if he has a new company that he prefers maintaining his units then we would be more than happy to accommodate his request of issuing a credit to him and his family for the simple fact that we appreciate his business and are saddened to loose our working relationship with him for him.

I am a senior. They did some check up on my AC.
Replaced a part and charged me $356.00 for it.
I asked THREE times for an invoice,so far none.
I want to know what they for my money.I feel
they try a hard sell to get you to spend more money.
They tried to get me to use PACE for repairs after
I told them no several times. They took it upon
themselves to sign me up! I never told them to do so.
I will not deal with this company again.
