Review: Was promisedby [redacted] that that I would qualify for a loan modification on mortgage. The representative also stated the Stead Law Firm does not want to waste any of their consumer's time or money and informed me that I would earn my money back in 1 year if we paid them to complete a loan modification. I paid $3500 to Stead Law Firm, and after 6 months, the modification was denied by my mortgage lender. Since December, I have been contacting Stead. I have called 8 different times leaving a message each time and have sent 2 different emails. When I call and leave a message, I am informed that I will receive a call within 24 hours, this has yet to happen. In fact, I received an email stating that they would contact me in early January. I wasted 2 days staying home to make sure I was available for the call and it never happened. I also received one voice mail, but as of yet, I have not talked with a representative.Desired Settlement: I would simply like to just find out the next step for the loan modification, if it wont work, it would be nice if they would just let me know.

Review: I started working with Stead Law Firm in January of 2015 when I received a call from them offering to modify a loan I had on a condo in FL. The customer service rep gave me multiple assurances that I was pre-qualified for many programs and could save $300+/month compared to what I was paying now. I paid them $3500 dollars to assist me In reconstruction of my home loan. In the contract it states that a refund may be issued if there is a lack of hard ship or lack of being compliant. I was unaware of the programs they were applying for. I have not missed a payment or had any hardship with this loan. They assured me that was no issue and I could save money. I received very little follow up from them. I was told, in writing, the process would take 3-4 months and "Our compliance department goes through the review process to determine our ability to enroll the homeowner in these restructure programs before any fees are requested." If that is the case then I find it hard to believe that now, 6 months later and counting, I am receiving letters of denial from my loan service provider stating I am not eligible for the programs that were applied for because I have shown no hardship. I have been compliant and waited several months with no outcome of anything being done. I call every contact that I have dealt with when finally getting to talk to someone they told me that I did not qualify for the reconstruction due to lack of hardship. I paid this company. They said I qualified and there would be no issue and the loan modification would go right through. It is just unreal that I pay a $3500 fee, call and leave messages, and do not receive a call back. This company is a scam. STAY AWAY!Desired Settlement: I am looking to get a full refund of my money. I want nOTHING to do with this company or their false promises.

Review: On Oct 2013 the I applied with Stead Law Firm in Irvine Ca. for help in getting my home mortgage modified. Ms. [redacted] send me out the paper work so I could fill it out and send a fee of $3500.00 and then I ask what happens if this doesn’t work she did asure me that I could get a 100% money guarantee I was then told by Ms. [redacted] that if I apply this will be 100% money back ,if I couldn’t get a modification. So I then had to convince my wife that this going to work because she has to sign the paper work too. I had Ms. [redacted] call and speak to her about this so we could see if they could help us lower our monthly mortgage payments. So at this time I again ask Ms. [redacted] what would it take for us to get this started and how does it work, I was then told by Ms. [redacted] I need to pay my next two monthly payments to them because I would not not be able to qualify if we were not behind on our Mortgage I then ask how is that so and she ensure me that they will be holding on to our two checks and cash only one at a time one for the first month and the other the following month but wen I check my account they cash both check in less then a months time. Ms. [redacted] also ensure me that this is a 100% money back guarantee if they were not able to get our mortgage modified. So that is when Ms. [redacted] agreed to help me gather all paper work need and send it off to Stead Law Firm. This is how we started our relationship with them off and good note. But as the months went by they keep on requesting more and more papers and not give a firm answer as to what is going on each time I call I got a different person but still on promising answer from Stead Law Firm until in Oct of 2014 I got a note from our Current mortgage that our home is up foreclosure and at that time I call my mortgage to see what I need to do to stop this and if I can get my home modified with them so that process began and it took two months for that my current mortgage came back with a NO answer that our request was declined and we didn’t qualify for a Home Loan Modification with them. So this may have been the answer I should have gotten for Stead Law Firm months instead they chose to drag this on for a whole year. I think they did this because they taught we would just let go and not ask them for our refund that we were promise in the beginning of this quest to get our home modified and no help from Stead Law Firm.

Review: Stead Law Firm sent us literature by mail to our home stating they could help us lower our mortgage interest rate to 3% and save us big money. It seemed legitamate at first, but over several months, and $2,000 later, we have realized that we were scammed. Our mortgage lender AgChoice Farm Credit actually alerted us to this realization. We have read other complaints against Stead Law Firm on Revdex.com.org and we are devastated. They hit us in the wallet at a very crutial time in our lives. They took advantage of our personal financial difficulties and made it even worse for us by asking us to fall behind on our mortgage and us that money to pay them instead. Isn't this illegal?Desired Settlement: We demand our $2,000 back, which we can prove we paid by providing copies of canceled checks.

I hired this Law Firm to help save my house from foreclosure. I was told that it will cost $5,200.00 which I sent to this company, I also send all documents that was requested. I was advised to contact the bankruptcy lawyer who told me that it was not a good ideal to file, I was also told to go to the Sheriff department to file for a postponement. Long story short I still lost my house to foreclosure with no help from Stead-Law and no return of any of my monies.

Review: I hired stead law firm in October of 2014 to file for a mortgage modification.I was told the process would take at least 90 days. 6 months later I was told that I did not qualify because I did not have enough hardship. My last contact with the firm was on march 17th 2015. A [redacted] is the person I spoke to and was told I would be getting a call 2 weeks later. It is now 5/18/2015 and still no replies to my e-mails or phone messages. On 5/15/2015 I attempted to call my mortgage company, only to be told that they cannot speak to me because the law firm put a cease order on them.Desired Settlement: I need to terminate our contract , and have cease order lifted so I can deal with my mortgage company

Review: In March of 2014 A [redacted] with Stead Law spoke with me regarding a loan modification on my home. They promised that they could help me and after some concern and hesitation I agreed to have them try to modify my home loans but only after they promised a full refund if they could not complete they process. In an email to [redacted] I asked again if they would give me a 100% refund if they could not modify my loans and he responded by saying "That is correct, we cannot offer that to every client however they are that confident with your situation and both of these loans". The law firm began working on my loans and very soon I realized that they were not were not following up with me weekly as they promised. My file was being handled be [redacted], I would have to call and email her over and over just to get a response. After some time I was told that my modification was denied but not to worry because this was normal. They would keep working on the modification and it would happen. Months and Months went by and I would have to cal and email just to get an answer as to the modification. In March of 2015, a year after I first started with Stead Law, I was told that the modification was denied again. After a year of poor communication and little to no progress I asked for my money because they told me they could not get the modification done. Analy said that she would forward my refund request on to a [redacted] to begin the process and Analy would step back in to finalize the refund. That was on March 20th, I have called and emailed several times and no one will respond to me. I would like the 100% refund as promised.Desired Settlement: I would like I full refund as promised

Therefore I was compliant and they went several months with no outcome of anything done when finally getting to talk to someone they told me that I did not qualify for the reconstruction due to lack of hardship I never received any information from anyone stating this no evidence of any work even performed on my case before I paid this company they said I qualified and there would be no issue the reconstruction would go right through I requested a refund they took a month and a half to respond with a 5 percent refund offer and it's been another month and a half and still no response on if it's going through 5 percent for no work performed is just unreal this company is a scam I hope this can he'll me out or some other people thank you very much for your timeDesired Settlement: Would like my money back for no outcome and a waste of 10 months of dealing with this law firm

Review: When I called them they tell me that I was pre-approved for the modification, all they needed was some papers from me, and the three checks of 1,166.66 each. When I asked what happens to my money if something doesn't work . They said you will get your money back. Desired Settlement: Pay me back cause they didn't do what they said. and promised.

Review: I paid Stead Law Firm $1500 in April 2014 for mortgage assistance.. I was denied mortgage assistance and requested a refund, July 21, 2014. The firm stated that I need to talk to the processing center. It has been 3 weeks and only that one person is able to help me and MUST be a phone conversation. So far I left numerous messages and have not received my refund.Desired Settlement: The business has a responsible to refund the money for services that were not rendered. The business has a responsibility to their advertisement.
