Strobert Tree Services, Inc. Reviews (24)

Their price is very competitive without compromising of the quality of work. I really recommend this company.

They removed on of our trees. They did the job very efficiently and removed all the debris. The price was reason able.

Review: On May 11, 2015 I signed a Proposal with [redacted], Certified Arborist, of Strobert Tree service after he agreed that his company could prune the branches of my tree way from my roof and my neighbor's carport roof and shape the tree so that it would be even all over. I asked if the tree would still look full and continue to provide the privacy that I am currently getting and was assured it would. [redacted] also agreed that the company would be able to cut the limbs of my Hemlock away from my home and deck and remove a dead tree from my back yard. I was informed that a crew would be working on another property not far from where I resided and if they were finished that job within a reasonable hour, then the work would be done tomorrow, if not I was looking at sometime next week. I stated okay. On May 12, 2015, when I arrived home from work, a crew was at my home. I had to run a quick errand, when I returned 45 minutes later, the crew was gone. My White Pine was not cut as I requested or as listed on the Proposal that I was given. Several lower branches of the White Pine that were nowhere near the roof or my house had been cut all the way to the truck of the tree and cut extremely high, the side of the tree that faced my neighbor, still had several branches hanging over the roof of her carport and the lower branches on my neighbor side of the tree were still there and the tree overall tree had not been shaped and appeared that they were not cut. There were also a few branches in the White Pine that were left dangling in the tree. So this definately is not aesthetically pleasing, as the proposal states. As I continued to inspect the work done, I observed debris from the White Pine in and along my flower bed, several branches (9) from the White Pine in another tree on my property, broken/partially cut branches still hanging on my White Pine and the Hemlock that was located in the rear of my yard was still partially hanging over my deck and roof. I was extremely upset. I contacted Strobert and spoke with the receptionist. I explained to her that the company did not cut my White Pine as requested and that my tree looks as if it has been butchered. I also informed her that debris was left on my property and in a tree on my property. I informed her that can send her picture. The receptionist asked me to send the pictures to her personal cellphone and that she would get the pictures to [redacted]. The receptionist apologized for the work done and the mess that was left on my property and stated she will have [redacted] call me right away. On May 13, 2015, I received a call from [redacted] and he stated that came to my home and everything looked fine to him. I asked him was he kidding and asked if he could meet me at my home to look at the tree and the work done. On May 14, 2015, [redacted] came to my home and did a walkthrough of my property. [redacted] stated that the White Pine was not cut correctly and that the crew took the branches up on my side too high. [redacted] also stated that the crew did not shape up the entire tree and that all they had to do was use shears. [redacted] apologized for the work and stated unfortunately they cannot put my branches back on, if he could he would. [redacted] also apologized for the debris left from the White Pine on my property and in my tree and informed me to leave the debris. [redacted] stated that work like this has a negative effect on the company and that customers are quick to spread negative news about a business then positive. [redacted] offered to do a free soil treatment for the White Pine and have the crew come back to my home to shape up the tree. [redacted] also stated that when he initially came to my home to look at the tree, he did not get out of the car, that he drove by and looked. [redacted] stated that he will send the crew back to fix the trees and remove the debris. I told [redacted] that I want to be present when the crew came back to my home because I dont trust how they work. [redacted] stated someone from Strobert would contact me to schedule the appointment. A few days past and I still had not received a call from Strobert regarding my new appointment. I called Strobert on 5/18/2015 to find out what was going on, the receptionist stated that she was informed I would be calling them, since I wanted to be home when a crew came out. I stated that I was informed that someone from Strobert would be calling me. I asked for a supervisor, and was informed that [redacted] would contact me or my fiancé regarding my concerns and disatification with the work done. My fiancé spoke with [redacted] and stated that [redacted] would be coming to my home on May 26, 2015 to view the work and discuss an appointment date. On May 26, 2015, my fiancé reported that [redacted] stopped by and stated he didn’t see anything wrong with the tree and did state the crew should have cleaned up the debris left on my property. My fiancé reported that he explained to [redacted] that this is not what we asked for and that the tree has been butchered and not shaped , and how the Hemlock in the rear was not cut away from my home and deck. [redacted] stated the he will do a new proposal. I received a new proposal via email on May 27, 2015, which upset me. Instead of the proposal listing that they were coming back to correct the mess created with my white pine, unfinished cutting on the Hemlock in the rear of the home and cleanup of the branches and debris left on my property and another tree , the proposal basically stated tree was not pruned to my expectations. We went back and forth with email, which I have copies of should the owner need to see them. Prior to contacting the Revdex.com, I asked for the contact information to the owner of the company and was informed via email by [redacted], that she can not give his information out. I found this to be very unprofessional and this complaint more than likely could of been avoided had the information been given to me or an attempt had been made by the company to take my information and have the owner contact me. I feel as though, with the exception of [redacted] C. and the initial receptionist I spoke with on May 12, no one wanted to take responsibility for the work done on my property or the fact that my White Pine was cut incorrectly and too high, the Hemlock in the rear was barely cut and debris was left on my property and in another tree.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is to have the price adjusted due to the fact that the service I requested and was willing to pay for was performed incorrectly. I should not have to pay full price for a service, I didnt ask for. I am not saying that Strobert intentionally cut my tree incorrectly, but they failed to do what was listed and agreed upon on the proposal.

Response:

We are very upset to see this review. We have worked with the [redacted]’s setting up estimates and scheduling their work numerous times only for them to switch the date 3 times and then finally cancel. We feel we did everything on our part by giving them a fair discount as well as a free Deep root fertilization treatment. We value our customers here at Strobert Tree service.

Review: Strobert Tree service cut down a tree on my neighbors property at [redacted]. Strobert trucks used our driveway and lawn to access their back yard, without permission. Trucks damaged our lawn and stepping stone. Asked their driver [redacted] to please repair my property. Called the business the following morning to ask that no more vehicles use our property to access the neighbors backyard. Spoke to project estimator [redacted]. Asked that my yard be fixed with fill dirt and grass seed. That was 9/25/14. Strobert returned to fix neighbors yard and mine with fill & grass seed. Left cracked stepping stone and ruts near back gate next to pad where recycling bin is kept. Contacted neighbor to report our property damage and asked that they please follow up with Stroberts to have them return. Showed [redacted] our neighbor what needed to be fixed. Another week went by heard nothing from neighbor, called Stroberts asked for [redacted]'s email address. Wrote him an email requesting that our property be fixed. He responded by saying he could not find a stepping stone like the one that needs replacing. I told him not to worry about that, dig it out, remove it from our property and level off all ruts with dirt and grass seed. Please leave the property in the condition before your trucks drove over it.Desired Settlement: Please remove cracked stepping stone and fill in all ruts with dirt and top with grass seed. Please leave yard level like it was before neighbors tree was removed.
