Dear StudentCity Customer,We are sorry to hear that you are not going to be able to travel on your upcoming spring break trip.  Your original deposit payment is a non-refundable deposit, however there are cancelation penalties associated with canceling your trip, as outlined in our cancelation...

policy.  When you initially signed up for the trip on 7/13/15, you agreed to the terms and conditions via our website, which outlined the cancelation policy.  You do have the option of a name change on your account, which would mean finding a new person to take over your spot on the trip.  This is your best option, as you would be able to obtain the money you have paid (minus name change fee).  Please feel free to contact us at 1-[redacted] to discuss the name change options and we would be happy to assist you.  Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

This doesn't help us now in our current very serious situation, which was the whole point. While I appreciate the effort and respect the rules and regulations, this money is benefitting StudentCity for another year, and not a family in need. There is a very good chance that our daughter won't even continue at [redacted] next year due to our circumstances.

Hello, We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your Spring Break trip you booked to South Padre Island, Texas.  As a gesture of good faith, you were offered a future travel credit good for travel in spring 2017.  This offer remains and will be listed in your accounts...

under each of your groups individual names.  Should you like to discuss this matter further, please contact our corporate office at [redacted], or email us at [email protected].  Thanks you, and we look forward to the opportunity to book your 2017 trip.

Dear [redacted], StudentCity is as transparent as possible in regard to our cancellation policy and travelers available options if they are unable to travel. Each traveler must read and review the Terms and Conditions prior to signing up and depositing on any StudentCity trip. Below shows your account...

journal that documented your acceptance to the Terms and Conditions before making your initial deposit: Customer Has Just made a one time payment for: 75.00 Web Site 09/15/17 09:21:03 AM [redacted] agreed to terms. Birthdate: [redacted] Web Site 09/15/17 09:17:50 AM [redacted] agreed to terms Schedule A. Birthdate: [redacted] Web Site 09/15/17 09:17:50 AM Basic Information Updated By Customer Web Site 09/15/17 09:16:55 AM Detailed Information Updated By Customer Web Site 09/15/17 09:16:55 AM The Terms and Conditions state that any cancellation within 60 days of the final payment due date (December 6th) would render funds paid non-refundable. Please see Section IV, subsection A1/A2/A3 of the Terms and Conditions titled: “CANCELLATIONS” which states: 60 days or less prior to your Final Payment Due Date (FPDD) Cancellations received in our office within 60 days before your FPDD will render all monies previously paid to be non-refundable.  You contacted us via phone on December 5th at which point our Customer Service department informed you of your available options. Your available options:  Travel– Continue payments and travel so you don’t miss out on the trip or lose the money you have paid so far and we can work on a payment plan if needed. Name Change– Find someone to replace you on the trip and they can take over your account. The replacement pays you the money you have already paid. The replacement receives complete control over your account and everything you secured(discounted pricing, early booking incentives, payments made, etc) Talk to your Group Organizer and friends to see if anyone is interested in joining this trip and potentially taking over your account/spot. Once you find someone email me their name and email address, and I will go through the Name Change process with all parties.  Cancel Trip– Funds paid are non-refundable however you will have a $100 reusable credit (valid for two years). If you wish to cancel we must receive written confirmation (email reply is sufficient) of your cancellation. You have not contacted StudentCity since then and your failed to make your final payment on December 6th thus your account was canceled due to non-payment. If you wish to still travel you can reinstate your account and use the funds paid towards any 2018 package. If you do not travel for 2018, you will have $100 reusable credit with StudentCity, valid for two years.   Thank you,   [redacted] Customer Service Manager

Dear [redacted],When originally signing up for the GradCity trip to Panama City Beach, FL with [redacted] High School, the package was for a 2-Bedroom Condo at the [redacted]. The 2-Bedroom Condos hold up to six people per condo and billing and invoices are billed based on max occupancy until we receive the rooming list. When GradCity received the rooming list there were only four girls in the condo therefore the price does increase as there are less people splitting the cost of the condo. Travelers are responsible for filling their rooms per our Terms and Conditions. When the group contacted GradCity about the rooming and occupancy fees, GradCity worked with the group to go over all their options in regards to room type, occupancy, rooming list, etc. Due to the number of people, the group decided to switch to a 1-Bedroom Condo and room all together vs. separately. This has been updated in our reservation system and no travelers owe any further funds. If the group decides to keep their reservation, as currently as, they will actually be due a refund. If you would like to further discuss please contact our office at [redacted] or email [redacted]Thank you.

For example, a quad occupancy room may have 2-double beds or a king bed with a cot and/or air mattress or any other configuration that is deemed acceptable by the hotel.Should you have any questions, or would like to discuss further, please contact the representative you have email communication with, or contact us by phone at [redacted]  Thank you and have a great day.

[I'm rejected your offer it does not satisfy or resolve my issues. I wanted money back for my trip. What can I do with $100 travel credit from student city. Why would I used your service again? It's cheaper to book without you guys. You say it's not your fault but as a business if one of your vendors messed up you messed up too. You also have to make it up to your customers for the mistake and late notice. To changed hotel twice wasted half the day both days ]

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted].
From reviewing other Revdex.com complaints and other websites, I appreciate your form response that you seem so ready to send because of the illegal pattern and practice.  However, when a business makes a specific representation, especially in writing, that induces a consumer to enter a transaction, that is called fraud in the inducement.   I reject your response and I have disputed this transaction with my credit card company.   For StudentCity to put in writing that the hotel room will have 2 beds, then switch to a one-bedroom, that is a breach of contract.   I do not see how the Revdex.com gives StudentCity a good rating and because my complaint is very similar to many other consumers' experience, I would hope the Revdex.com would notify the MA Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs to the MA AG can open an investigation into StudentCity for a bait and switch pattern and practice.

This is a suggestion for you; if you wish to pursue this route, please contact our Customer Service Department.Thank you,StudentCity
