In regards to customer to our client [redacted] and his Honda Passport, we tried to contact Mr [redacted] directly to resolve this issue but failed to gain a response Mr [redacted] ’s vehicle was initially brought into our facility for taking off in high gear, and the 4xcoming on by itself sometimes [redacted] diagnosis on the transmission was reaffirmed, the 4xcoming on however did not occur; also the engine was barren of oilWe advised Mr [redacted] the transmission would be removed, and a recommended repair would then be given After the removal, we presented Mr [redacted] with the option to rebuild his transmission as well as look into the 4xissue further He explained he was unable to do so financially, we understood the situation and worked with him on lowering the price thus leaving the 4xfor a later date After completion of the transmission repair and install, we still had no signs of Mr [redacted] ’s complaints of the 4xlight sometimes coming on He was instructed should the light come on; return the vehicle to the nearest Super Discount Transmission so that we can assess the condition Mr [redacted] returned to our facility the following Monday Mar 23, with complaint of the vehicle stalling, this symptom was never previously mentionedWe completed a diagnosis to ensure that the issue was not related to work we had completed (stalling never occurred)Mr [redacted] was advised to take it to a auto shop since his complaint related to engine issues and not transmission, we once again informed him, that his engine had no oil in it, we did no work to his engine besides as courtesy adding oil to it so that we can complete road testing of his transmissionAbout a week later on March 31, the vehicle was brought in this time for the 4xlight, as promised we diagnosed Mr [redacted] ’s vehicle at no additional chargeIt was determined that the vehicles 4xsolenoid was faulty (stalling still never occurred during this diagnosis), bearing in mind Mr [redacted] ’s financial situation we charged him the cost $price on the component, no markup, no additional labor chargesWe even allowed him to arrange a payment on said part, which still has a balance Mr [redacted] was appreciative of this and even asked if we can perform body work to his car, unfortunately as he was informed with his engine complaint we had to decline due to us being a transmission repair facilityIn conclusion, Mr [redacted] has a direct balance with Super Discount Transmissions in the amount of $130, as for his transmission repair financing the balance is unknown to us, as it is between him and his lenderThe initial diagnosis of a transmission failure, which was also previously confirmed by Firestone, was addressed and repaired, as for the 4x“sometimes” coming on does not justify initially replacing a $component to an already financially strapping repair, which was why he was advised to return the vehicle when the error presented itself We have stood by not only our work but our word with Mr [redacted] , we have helped him in ways that we are not required to but we are limited to what we can do regarding his financing resolution between him and his lenderIF Mr [redacted] wishes to contact us with any complaint regarding his transmission repair, or his 4xsolenoid he is welcome to do so as his repairs are still under warrantyIf you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at our Goodyear, AZ location

The customer first came with complaints that he was having clutch related issues someone had installed the clutch but he was not getting any engagementWe informed him that we offer free towing w/ major repair we could have the vehicle towed in and get it checked outWhen the vehicle was towed
into the shop, upon inspection the hood was not attached to the vehicle missing lug nuts for the tires the transaxle seals were leaking the wheel spindle and bearing failed the motor oil pan gasket was leaking the front motor seal leaking power steering leak rack & pinion leak valve cover gasket leak multiple parts missing, and a major tune up to be completedThe diagnosis of the clutch was that it had failed due to improper installationThe customer had a warranty on the clutch assembly from his place of purchaseThis transmission removal & installation is labor intensive the customer was given a discounted rate of $of all the issues the vehicle had, customer only wanted to do the necessary things to get vehicle running again which included the replacement clutch which customer provided the transaxle seals the rear main seal the wheel spindle and bearingThe customer did not want the following repaired motor oil leaks, power steering and rack and pinion leaksThe vehicle took some time to complete due to all of the missing parts odds and ends that needed to be worked aroundAfter the work was complete vehicle was drivable, the vehicle went out on a test drive, came back the transmission working great, going into all the gears, no engagement issuesThe customer was informed that their vehicle was ready for pick up and that the brakes did need to be replaced after drivingThe customer picked up the vehicle drove it home, called a few days later stating the vehicle was still having the same issue, (not going into all the gears), The customer was informed that they would have to bring the vehicle back in so that it could be checked out

They failed to stand by there work as she states in the first line of her responce. when I called and asked to speake to th GM I was told by [redacted] that he would not let me speak to her. I could talk to him. I told him that the Trans gave out and needed a total rebuild. His responce was "what do you want us to do about it?" I said I wanted my money back. He said :That wont happen" The van was still in warrenty and as she states in her responce that the other shop stated it failed internally. For a Trans that they say they rebuilt it should not have failed but it did. so they should stand by there work and pay for what I had to have done. There work stranded me in TX for 5 nights while I was on vacation. As far as the GM saying she made several attempts to contact me. Not true. She called once and when I returned her call within minutes I was told she just left the shop. I called several time to talk to her and she was never there. Also she failed to state that the van was back to there shops 3 time with the same problem as before they say thay rebuilt it. by one guy at there McDowell shop I was told "Thats just how your van drives" seems odd that after a "rebuild" you would have the same trouble as before it. My bill does not show what parts were replace or milage or anything else. Just says rebuild. But the GM says her copy states millage? Simple fact is that my trans was within warrenty so they need to step up and stand by there work as they say thaey do.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:             In regards to customer [redacted] and her Revdex.com complaint #[redacted]. Ms. [redacted] vehicle was brought in for not moving a complaint of a grinding noise and burning smell. After our initial inspection...

it was determined the transmission had failed internally and that was the cause of the grinding noises being heard, the burning smell was a result of the steering gear leaking. After removal the of the transmission we went over the inspection report for causes of failure with Ms. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted]) , we were given authorization to repair the transmission and the steering gear. Upon completion and pickup of her vehicle Ms. [redacted] did notice a exhaust noise that she said was not familiar, we immediately put the car back to address this concern. The exhaust donuts due to time, rust and normal wear had collapsed after displacing them for the first time to remove the transmission. We REPLACED not one but BOTH of them as a courtesy to Ms. [redacted]. We received a call from [redacted]s with a concern of a leak from the axle seal and the possibility of fluid contamination. After discussing the concern with the facility, we authorized them to look further into it and if it could not be fixed to let us know so that we can arrange a tow for the vehicle. [redacted]s did contact us and inform us that the leak appeared to subside, upon that diagnosis the vehicle was released to the customer.   We received a phone call regarding the unfortunate circumstance of a failure, the vehicle was returned to [redacted]s. We were informed that the transmission suffered a critical failure at this point. We immediately tried to make arrangements for a courtesy transport of the vehicle to our facility. Ms. [redacted] refused to allow us to transport her vehicle. We at Super Discount Transmissions have always stood behind our work, to the point where we are willing to tow Ms[redacted] vehicle back to our facility on our behalf. Our warranty is a local area warranty, and it is the customer’s responsibility to return the vehicle to the nearest facility. We understood the depth of the situation and if there is a failure on a repair that we performed it will be repaired under warranty at no cost to Ms. [redacted] at one of our facilities. The main thing of course is to have the vehicle at said facilities so that we can verify and address the concerns accordingly, and we cannot do that without consent of Ms. [redacted]. Should you have any questions please contact Super Discount Transmissions- Goodyear. Thank You, SDT Management

Super Discount Transmission does stand by there warranty. Mr. [redacted] never gave us an opportunity to help in this situation.. When Mr.[redacted] called our office the first time he started making accusations that we did not rebuild his transmission and that we installed a used transmission he stated he had the damaged parts so we asked him if he can bring the parts so we can inspect them, his response was “ I would never step foot on your property ”. Our warranty is a local in shop warranty as written on his repair order but in some cases we do work with other shops.  He could have asked S&S transmission to call us so we could warranty out the parts. But in our previous statement Mr.[redacted] did not want anything to do with us, every time we were contacted by [redacted] it was always accusations and threats of a lawsuit. We will not issue a refund to Mr. [redacted].

Super Discount transmission always stands by our warranty. On 10/23/14 [redacted] called into our Surprise location at the time, and spoke with the shop manager **. Mr. [redacted] stated he just bought a 98 Windstar with a bad transmission and was inquiring how much it would cost to have it rebuilt, he...

was quoted a price of $2600 plus taxes forthe removal, dis-assembly, inspection, rebuild, & installation of his own transmission, At no point was any amount of $1500 was discussed. He asked if we could tow the vehicle to the shop to have the work completed, he was then informed that towing is free with any major repair. The vehicle was towed down and the rebuild process began. After the work was completed, Mr. [redacted] picked up his vehicle on 11/01/2015 which is 7 working days not two weeks as Mr. [redacted] stated. He drove his 98 Ford Windstar in on 08/10/2015 stated his transmission was slipping, he was informed he was under warranty and if there is any issue with the transmission it would be fixed under warranty, After further diagnostic super Discount transmission mechanic determined that an internal part had failed and the transmission would to be removed from the van and repair under warranty. The van was repaired and returned to [redacted], 08/14/2015. On 09/18/2015 we received a call from [redacted] demanding to speak with the general manager, He was then transferred to [redacted] one of the general managers. [redacted] started to make multiple accusations stating we never rebuilt his transmission we installed a used transmission, our general manager informed him that was not the case that his own transmission was rebuilt by Super Discount Transmission just like it is stated on his invoice along with 12 months 12,000 miles whichever occurs first local in shop warranty. [redacted] continued to make accusations that his transmission was not rebuilt it was used and all the parts that can prove it and that S&S Transmission in AMARILLO, TX told him the transmission is used. Our general manager then told him to bring the parts and video so we can look at it. [redacted] continued to yell and say he will never lay foot on the property. We have made multiple attempts to get in contact with [redacted] he was informed in the voicemail that the GM could only be reached between the hours of 8:00 am and 1:00 PM. On 10/05/2015 The GM spoke to him and asked him to email the invoices for the work done at S&S transmission and spoke with a gentlemen by the name of son (the mechanic that worked on Mr. [redacted]’s 98 ford Windstar) and informed me that they never told [redacted] that thetransmission was used, but that it was rebuilt by Super Discount Transmission but that it had failed internally.

In regards to customer to our client [redacted] and his 1997 Honda Passport, we tried to contact Mr. [redacted] directly to resolve this issue but failed to gain a response.  Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle was initially brought into our facility for taking off in high gear, and the 4x4 coming on by...

itself sometimes.  [redacted] diagnosis on the transmission was reaffirmed, the 4x4 coming on however did not occur; also the engine was barren of oil. We advised Mr. [redacted] the transmission would be removed, and a recommended repair would then be given.  After the removal, we presented Mr. [redacted] with the option to rebuild his transmission as well as look into the 4x4 issue further.  He explained he was unable to do so financially, we understood the situation and worked with him on lowering the price thus leaving the 4x4 for a later date.  After completion of the transmission repair and install, we still had no signs of Mr. [redacted]’s complaints of the 4x4 light sometimes coming on.  He was instructed should the light come on; return the vehicle to the nearest Super Discount Transmission so that we can assess the condition.  Mr. [redacted] returned to our facility the following Monday Mar 23, 2015 with complaint of the vehicle stalling, this symptom was never previously mentioned. We completed a diagnosis to ensure that the issue was not related to work we had completed (stalling never occurred). Mr. [redacted] was advised to take it to a auto shop since his complaint related to engine issues and not transmission, we once again informed him, that his engine had no oil in it, we did no work to his engine besides as courtesy adding oil to it so that we can complete road testing of his transmission. About a week later on March 31, 2015 the vehicle was brought in this time for the 4x4 light, as promised we diagnosed Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle at no additional charge. It was determined that the vehicles 4x4 solenoid was faulty (stalling still never occurred during this diagnosis), bearing in mind Mr. [redacted]’s financial situation we charged him the cost $230 price on the component, no markup, no additional labor charges. We even allowed him to arrange a payment on said part, which still has a balance.  Mr. [redacted] was appreciative of this and even asked if we can perform body work to his car, unfortunately as he was informed with his engine complaint we had to decline due to us being a transmission repair facility. In conclusion, Mr. [redacted] has a direct balance with Super Discount Transmissions in the amount of $130, as for his transmission repair financing the balance is unknown to us, as it is between him and his lender. The initial diagnosis of a transmission failure, which was also previously confirmed by Firestone, was addressed and repaired, as for the 4x4 “sometimes” coming on does not justify initially replacing a $230 component to an already financially strapping repair, which was why he was advised to return the vehicle when the error presented itself.  We have stood by not only our work but our word with Mr. [redacted], we have helped him in ways that we are not required to but we are limited to what we can do regarding his financing resolution between him and his lender. IF Mr. [redacted] wishes to contact us with any complaint regarding his transmission repair, or his 4x4 solenoid he is welcome to do so as his repairs are still under warranty. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at our Goodyear, AZ location.

The diagnosis of the clutch was that it had failed due to improper installation. The customer had a warranty on the clutch assembly from his place of purchase. This transmission removal & installation is labor intensive the customer was given a discounted rate of $1000 of all the issues the vehicle had, customer only wanted to do the necessary things to get vehicle running again which included the replacement clutch which customer provided the transaxle seals the rear main seal the wheel spindle and bearing. The customer did not want the following repaired motor oil leaks, power steering and rack and pinion leaks. The vehicle took some time to complete due to all of the missing parts odds and ends that needed to be worked around. After the work was complete vehicle was drivable, the vehicle went out on a test drive, came back the transmission working great, going into all the gears, no engagement issues. The customer was informed that their vehicle was ready for pick up and that the brakes did need to be replaced after driving. The customer picked up the vehicle drove it home, called a few days later stating the vehicle was still having the same issue, (not going into all the gears), The customer was informed that they would have to bring the vehicle back in so that it could be checked out.

This letter is in reference to our customer [redacted]. [redacted] originally came into the shop two weeks prior to having his vehicle towed in, he asked for a quote to have his transmission rebuilt on his 2000 Dodge Neon since his vehicle had stopped moving forward. He was quoted...

a price of $895.00 for a soft part overhaul kit and labor, if hard parts would be needed in order to complete the rebuild of his transmission that would be additional to the original quote of $895.00. A soft part overhaul consists of gaskets, seals, clutches, filter, etc. Hard parts consist of anything not included in the soft part overhaul kit, possibly the torque convertor, pump, drum, etc. The only way to verify hard part damage is to have the transmission removed, opened up, and a full inspection to be completed. [redacted] then asked if we could possibly work with him on the price, we told him we were quoting him on a rebuild of his transmission that if a repair would be possible we could possibly do that just depending on how much damage is done within the transmission. We offered our financing options that we have available, [redacted] refused to apply for the financing options at that point, but he agreed to apply once the vehicle was brought to the shop. [redacted] than asked if he brought in two vehicles to get worked on and if he could leave the title to both vehicles while we completed the work, we did not agree to that, and informed [redacted] that when he was ready to have the vehicle worked on to come back down and we will see what we can do in terms of financing. On 04/18/2015[redacted] came down to the shop to make arrangements to have his vehicle brought down to the shop to have the work completed on the vehicle. We needed to get the vehicle down here in order to check it out and then begin the work needed to get him back on the road. We offer our customers free towing with the repairs of their vehicle, so that is what was offered to [redacted], he declined claiming that he only lives up the street from the shop and that he would wait on some of his family to help him push the vehicle to the shop, ([redacted] was told that this would not be necessary, that we could have the vehicle towed in for free with the repair of his vehicle, since that was the reason for him bringing the vehicle to us was to have it fixed, as well as time constraints due to the fact that on Saturdays we close up early at 1:00 P.M compared to our weekday hours of 7:30 A.M – 6:00 P.M. [redacted] agreed to have the vehicle towed down at no cost with the repair of his transmission, an invoice was made out at this time which [redacted] signed off on to have his transmission removed, opened up, and inspected at this point, with the quote of $895 for a soft part overhaul kit, plus hard parts would be additional if needed. [redacted] said he only had $400.00 as a deposit and that for the rest he would be applying to one of our 3rd party financing companies ([redacted]) on Monday April 20th, 2015 since they were not open on Saturday, we agreed to work out a payment plan with him if he was not able to get approved. The transmission was removed on Saturday April 18th, 2015. Sunday April 19th, 2015, the shop is closed on Sundays, an employee was in the shop premises working on his personal vehicle, [redacted] called a few times inquiring about his vehicle, and the employee is one of our mechanics and does not know of the arrangements made within the office. [redacted] was told to call back the following day on Monday April 20th, 2015 to speak to the manager.
Monday April 20th, 2015 [redacted] comes down to the shop, the boss was not in the office at that time, the store manager was available to help him, he stated that he never gave the authorization to have the transmission removed, which is clearly what he signed off for on his invoice. The manager then called the boss and had [redacted] speak with him, it was then agreed upon to have the transmission opened and inspected. [redacted], his brother, and the assistant manager went into the builders room to inspect the transmission after it had been opened, we saw the forward drum was broken in three pieces, which is what caused the vehicle from driving forward, in order to do a complete rebuild of the transmission, the parts needed would be the soft part overhaul kit (which is what he was originally quoted for), a torque convertor exchange, (remanufactured exchange) and a new drum would all need to be replaced. He was than quoted a complete price of $1320.55 for the full rebuild of his transmission. He declined to have this done and stated that he could not afford that, and also this is not what we quoted him, which it clearly states on the on the invoice (which [redacted] has a copy of) that the transmission would need a soft part over haul kit plus hard parts would be additional if needed. [redacted] at this point requested that we put his transmission back into his vehicle and asked for a refund of his deposit of $400.00. He was than informed that a refund of $150.00 would be given to him because the $250.00 will be for the work that was already completed and we would put the internal parts of his transmission in the trunk of the vehicle, but the actual transmission case would have to be reinstalled to the vehicle for engine mounting purposes due to the engineering of the vehicle. [redacted] had been pleading with us to work with him in any way, that he is a single parent, his baby’s mother took everything and left him and that he just needed to vehicle to work again, it was his only transportation to get back and forth to work he even asked us to reuse the parts that we felt could be reusable, he did not care for a warranty, to do the bare minimum needed to get his vehicle back on the road. The assistant manager said that she would talk to the boss when he was available to see what they would be able to do help him out. When the boss came in to the office and the situation was explained, a basic repair was deemed possible to [redacted]’s transmission, the assistant manager than called [redacted] about an hour he after left the shop, to offer him a basic repair to his transmission, we than quoted him $895.00 plus taxes for a repair to his transmission, which would include a remanufactured torque convertor exchange, the used forward drum, and the miscellaneous seals an[YM1] [YM2] [YM3] d gaskets that would be needed internally and externally. [redacted] agreed to this and authorized us to do so at 10:00 A.M of April 20th, 2015, he also gave us his birth date ([redacted]) at this time for our over the phone authorization procedure. We also agreed to allow him a two week period to get the remaining balance together. At this point the repair process of his transmission began.
Wednesday April 22nd, 2015 The store manager call [redacted] to inform him that his transmission repair had been completed and installed as well, after the vehicle was dropped down the technician was getting ready to take it out for a test drive, the tech did not leave the parking lot as he felt something off with the steering, the vehicle was wobbling, so he did not complete the final test drive, he pulled the vehicle back into the bay to put it back up and check to verify if there was anything w[redacted]g with the steering, the tech who installed the transmission was at lunch at the point, so the vehicle was left sitting in the bay until he was back to put the vehicle up to check it out. About 15 minutes later the manager heard a loud popping noise in the bay area from the office, when the manager went outside to see where the noise came from, you could clearly see that the neon was sitting lower on the driver side, the tire had popped, the tire was dry rotted, more than likely from sitting at [redacted]’s house for so long as he claimed that vehicle has been sitting for a while. [redacted] was then called at that point to inform him of what happened and that a replacement tire would be needed. He said that he would call back an hour later. No call back was ever made. A few hours later [redacted] showed up to the shop with his mother to verify what exactly was done to the vehicle and why we are charging him so much, also claiming that we forged her son’s signature, and that we slashed his tire. The manager began explaining exactly what was done to the vehicle, the mother kept interrupting him, never giving him a chance to fully explain. At this point the manager could no longer deal with customer and informed that they would have to set an appointment up to come back in and speak with the owner. The mother than said she was going to call the cops, and the manager at this point was ready to call the cops himself, since they were causing a uproar in the office, not allowing him to talk, and making threats to call the police which he did not mind because there was nothing to hide. The manager at that point said they are more than welcome to call the cops, if they needed him to he would call them himself. They then decided to call to cops down. When the cops arrived they spoke with the store manager, in which he explained to them the entire situation of what was going on, a used kit was never purchased, (a used soft part overhaul kit is not even available to be purchased), a torque convertor exchange and miscellaneous internal and external seals were purchased, a useddrum was located at one of our four valley locations. It was also explained to the police that this is not normal procedure for us, we prefer to do the recommended service, feeling sorry for [redacted] since he was supposedly going thru a rough time in his life, we agreed to help him out and complete the repair to his transmission. It should also be noted that [redacted] was not informed that his vehicle was ready to be picked up at that point, he was called to inform him of his tire, and that we still needed to take the vehicle out for a complete test drive. Also at this point he still did not have the remaining balance of $528.20, as he asked us for a two week period to get the remaining balance together. The cops themselves did not know what to do in the situation as they could not even have a reasonable conversation with the mother, and informed [redacted] and his mother that there was nothing that they could do.
Thursday April 23rd, 2015 [redacted] and his mother came in the shop in the morning to speak with the owner, still claiming that we slashed his tire, we forged his signature that he never agreed to have any of the work completed to his vehicle. It seemed as if they kept changing their stories and threatening to take us to court so we would at some point give in and return their vehicle to them at no charge. We informed them that if they would like to take us to court to settle the issue that they were more than welcome to, and from this point forward that’s where things would be handled in the courtrooms as tensions were beginning to get high and before things escalated it would be best for both parties to do so. [redacted] and his mother left at this point, the vehicle remained here at the shop on the lift.
Thursday April 30th, 2015 A representative from [redacted] (a title loan company) came down to the shop to do an inspection on the vehicle to get [redacted] a loan to have the remaining balance paid off so he could pick his vehicle up. By the customer’s request, we installed the spare tire so the inspection could be completed. [redacted] was approved for the loan, he came down to pay his remaining balance, refused to sign the completed invoice. He also did not replace the tire on the vehicle so we could properly take it out on a test drive (the spare tire was smaller than the rest of the tires, the vehicle was not in the proper conditions to have been test driven.) [redacted] did not want us to take the vehicle out on a test drive, he said that he would have his personal mechanic take a look at it. [redacted] was given a 1 month warranty/1,000 miles parts and labor. The company went above and beyond to help [redacted] out in his situation, and apparently he did not see it that way.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Interesting that SDT now claims the clips were broke, as this is the fourth story they have told.  They have now elected to side with my story that "BOTH" clips aparently broke and broke at the "EXACT" same time making my radiator defective.  They now have a new story deflecting blame on the facts that I explosed from another mechanic getting involved. When in actualuality they broke "BOTH" clips while working on the transmission.

Also interesting they now claim they called and attempted to replace them, only to find out they are un-replacable.  They obviously started the process to fix their mistake, yet then found out their mistake was a $1,000 dollar mistake.Attached picture is of the truck parked in the driveway as usual.  Note there are no drips of transmission fluid on the driveway under the radiator.  All the leaks are at the transmission under the cab.  The "radiator" wasn't leaking transmission fluid at any time prior to being taken to STD.

Certainly two clips on a brand new radiator do not break at the same exact point in time, and obviously weren't broke prior to the truck being taken to STD.  The picture of the driveway clearly shows no leaks prior to transmission failure.  Radiator mechnic will testify in court on my behalf that the clips were broken due to transmission shop not having the proper tool to disconnect.  He has seen it multiple times.  He will also tesitfy that the pieces of the plastic rings were still inside the flange, which wouldn't happen if transmission fluid had been actively pumped through radiator with the clips broken.  I have the plastic fragments in my possession, and if they had been broken as stated by SDT, they would have flushed into radiator or blew out from the presure of the transmission fluid.  They were clearly broke after the transmission stopped pumping fluid.

Randy Harmon

Super Discount transmission always stands by our warranty. On 10/23/14 [redacted] called into our Surprise location at the time, and spoke with the shop manager **. Mr. [redacted] stated he just bought a 98 Windstar with a bad transmission and was inquiring how much it would cost to have it rebuilt,...

he was quoted a price of $2600 plus taxes forthe removal, dis-assembly, inspection, rebuild, & installation of his own transmission, At no point was any amount of $1500 was discussed.

Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle was initially brought into our facility for taking off in...

high gear, and the 4x4 coming on by itself sometimes.

Review: I [redacted] and my son walked to Super Discount Transmission and talked with the business owner letting him know my car's drive gear was not Engaging and that I was not working too many hours and that I get paid Biweekly, I'm a single parent who has a kid to take care of and I am trying to catch up on other bills and that I would need a reasonable price, He then asked what was w[redacted]g with the vehicle; I told him my drive gear did not work but all and that the other gears did. His reply was you need a new transmission gear kit to fix the problem and told me about the warranty I would get. He then said I will tow your car in for free if I do the work after even after I told him I live one street down from his shop and I could have my vehicle pushed there when my family got back home, because I didn't have extra for towing his reply was "let's just tow it in". He also called a loan company to see if I can be approved for a loan but the guy I spoke to told me that they just closed and to call back on Monday; I then told the owner of super discount what was said and He replied, "their will be no work done till Monday morning when you authorize me to do so". The owner of super discount transmission then called the tow driver and gave me the phone to give him information on the address of my home so he could tow my vehicle then told me to give him a 400.00 deposit; On the receipt he told me as long as I don't sign off for the authorization to work on my vehicle they would not do so. The next day Sunday April/19/2015 I talked to a employee named [redacted]; I tried to find out if they were sure about the problem and if that price they gave me was it with no hidden charge's if not I was going to just pick up the car and have it done else were for cheaper. His reply was I am just a worker and you need to call on Monday when were open I'm here working on my truck". Monday April/20/2015 was When I came to their office at 7:58am to talk with the owner, he was not there and the transmission was already out of my car. I talked with the owners wife letting them know I never gave the authorization to start the work and I was going to need to take my car if the price changed. She then called the owner and told him what I had said. When I spoke to him he said if you want the car I will charge 250.00 for labor and they will not Put the transmission back in. Then they told me "without your transmission in your car the motor will fall out if you try to get It home", and that they charge a 50.00 a day fee to hold the car which was strange since the paper dearly said it was a 35.00 a day charge for your car to be held. The owner's wife then asked me if I wanted to see what the inside of the transmission looked like, so she had a employee open it; but Did not let me watch the employee open transmission till it was done until the transmission was taken apart. When I looked at the parts that were taken off everything looked good but the drive drum the one gear used for making the car go forward. This part on the transmission looked like it was broken in three pieces. I was then told it would cost a total of 1,200.00; I asked can I go buy a used drum and they just change it? Her reply was 'NO WE HAVE TO CHANGE the kit and drum and Torque converter when we fix a vehicle. Without knowing what to do, she then tells me if I get a used transmission they will put it in for the 400.00 deposit, about 2 hours Later the owner's wife calls and tells me that they have a used drum that another shop gave them and that they can use that part and that they can use my old torque converter For 895.00!, but not telling me I was not getting a new kit. This is the only and first time I gave authorization for them to do anything to my vehicle. This conversation was recorded by me. Wednesday April/22/2015 I received another phone call explaining their was a bubble in my car tire and when they were test driving it they turned the wheel and the tire popped; The owner asked me to take them another tire, I replied let me call you back in a hour. This conversation was. recorded. Around 4:30pm Wednesday 4/22/2015 me and my mother went to pay for my car and make sure the was no damage from the tire popping, and also get a invoice on the kit that the owner said he ordered. The owner's nephew told me that the kit they used has no invoice and the documents they had were different from mines. The phoenix police department was called [redacted]) badge #[redacted]. The owner's nephew admits all part are us' ed even the transmission kit to rebuild my transmission this is something I never agreed upon to pay fctr.and I believed they only changed one part and that's the drum. When I looked at the tire it did not have a bubble but a big crack and marks on the rim, it looked like they hit a curve. we were also told they put a REBUILT TURQUE Converter, I was told they were putting my old one back in, So they told me a used $80.00 drive drum ,and a used gear kit which I did not need want or agree too and old torque converter is 895.00. With no warranty or part invoice. The agreement was that the same torque converter which was my old one goes back in, a used drive drum and a new gear kit for 895.00. l his agreement was also recorded. At this time they wouldn't give me my car or the invoice for parts or work the price out. I believe they are up to no good. Each time I pass by their shop my car is in the air and being worked still, which is perplexing since I was told the car was ready to be picked up the day the police was called out. Owner says they put in a rebuilt torque converter, a new gear kit, and a used drum. Owner wife say they going to wipe off old torque converter and use it but did not say anything about transmission kit. Owner nephew tells me and the police every part put on the car is used even the gear kits. With three story's that don't add up I feel I need to see a invoice for the gear kit the owner told me he ordered and I never agree to having a rebuilt torque converter put in. If I don't get a warranty and the car breaks down the first day and something happens to me or my son I will have regret.Desired Settlement: See above.

Response:

This letter is in reference to our customer [redacted] originally came into the shop two weeks prior to having his vehicle towed in, he asked for a quote to have his transmission rebuilt on his 2000 Dodge Neon since his vehicle had stopped moving forward. He was quoted a price of $895.00 for a soft part overhaul kit and labor, if hard parts would be needed in order to complete the rebuild of his transmission that would be additional to the original quote of $895.00. At this point the repair process of his transmission began.Wednesday April 22nd, 2015 The store manager call [redacted] to inform him that his transmission repair had been completed and installed as well, after the vehicle was dropped down the technician was getting ready to take it out for a test drive, the tech did not leave the parking lot as he felt something off with the steering, the vehicle was wobbling, so he did not complete the final test drive, he pulled the vehicle back into the bay to put it back up and check to verify if there was anything w[redacted]g with the steering, the tech who installed the transmission was at lunch at the point, so the vehicle was left sitting in the bay until he was back to put the vehicle up to check it out. [redacted] and his mother left at this point, the vehicle remained here at the shop on the lift.Thursday April 30th, 2015 A representative from [redacted] (a title loan company) came down to the shop to do an inspection on the vehicle to get [redacted] a loan to have the remaining balance paid off so he could pick his vehicle up.

5/13/2015 I [redacted] took my vehicle back to super discount transmissionBecause when I got it back it was not running right or sounding like it should ,my car also stoped telling me how many miles per hour I am going, and the gas gauge also now moves to full or low when I hit my brakes I then get a call back from the manager at super discount telling me my spear tire was the reason I was having problems ;and that super discount could not test the car with a donut tire.I then get another tire and leave he vehicle with them .When I came back to get the car the managerTells me the problem is with the motor and the car is misfiring a problem that I never ha d with the car before .And referring to super discount side they say (they say I was going to have to vehicle worked on)That was not true. when I first went to them I told them there's another vehicle at my house that have the same transmission and would it be cheaper to have that transmission took out and put into my car That was a question (the other vehicle is not mines meaning I don't have two title) His reply its better to get a rebuild because they won't warranty the work for that transmission. And it was the owner who was trying to get me to leave he title with there loan 3ed party but I didn't agree, then they wanted me to do a credit card so I started to do some of the info but I stopped because I started to fe.ellike they were after more money then what was talked about. Also I never agreed on the torque converter exchange and the drum they told me was a used as you will see they said on phone recording. Which I will send you. Also super discount did pop the tire while they were test driving the vehicle outside of there shop As also said on one of the phone recordings. If you look at the photo they sent you;there is a big crack In the tire that I never seen from dry rot. Also everyday super discount drove my vehicle in and out of there car lift area to work other cars and put my vehicle back up on the lift at the end o f the day explaining the damage near the grip of the tire.in the manager statement he say heard a loud pop in the bay area when the was not in the car but the phone recordings say they were out testing it when that happen . And the day my mom came to the shop with me that conversation is also recorded she came with me because I explained that's super discount would did not want to warranty there work and were trying to charged me more then what they agree on. Also the day the police was called it was because super discount transmission signed my name on the first invoice I had received from super discount my copy it is not signed at the bottom but on there's it is.(that mean check there first invoice).Another thing on 5/13/2015 super discount returned my rim lock that they stole from me .That's also on a telephone recordings {THIS RECOREDING IS STILL ON MY PHONE AND WILL BE SENT IN ON A DIFFERENT SD memory card)Sorry it took me so long to contact you back I been a little sick in bed. Please give me a day or two send you the rec conversations.
