Review: For the last six years I have used the Services of Superior Septic. They are a local company only 1.5 miles from my home. I prefer to support the local businessman. Our Septic was pumped in 2007, then again in 2010. Usually a Septic system would be pumped and inspected every three years. We were experiencing some problems in the Fall of 2012, so we called for a Pump. This seemed a little unusual, because it had been only two years since the last Pump. We experienced a backup into the house in April 2013, we called for service immediately, I took the day off to be home when they arrived ( April [redacted] 2013 ), unfortunately they never showed up? I received a call that evening stating they would be there tomorrow. I could not take another day off. They did Pump the tank on April [redacted] 2013, but no one was home to flush or run water to make sure everything was working properly. When I arrived home that evening, the system was still backed up. I immediately called a plumber to Snake and clear the line, that was a additional cost. On August [redacted] 2013, we experienced another back up into the house. I called Superior Septic immediately, they indicated they could not get there until the late afternoon. So we waited, when they arrived, they were hesitant to pump the tank, thinking it was a plumbing issue, because the tank was just pumped in April. I finally convinced them to expose the tank to at least inspect it, to their amazement it was full to the top again? At this point I questioned why this was happening? They were struggling to come up with any clear answers. After 1.5 hours, they called it a day and said they would return in the morning to inspect further. The next morning they uncovered the junction box, that is approximately 3" under ground, inspected it, found it half full of water. They then attached a 2"suction adapter to the system line to the house, and cleared it, that took approximately 30 seconds and should be part of the Service. They then attempted to find and dig for a inspection hole to the pipe going to the

field. They were unable to locate the pipe. After 3.5 hours they told me there was nothing else they could do, I needed to contact someone else. They left and said they would send a bill for the work they performed. Typically a pump cost $300. They charged $350, indicated they had a price increase. Not unreasonable. My problem is they were responsible for maintaining this system, over the years never performed a complete inspection, just pumped and run. The system has backed up into my home three times. Besides the price increase for the pump, they charged a additional $350. dollars for clearing the main line with a suction hose, every other Septic service includes that with a standard pump. They also charged me for eight hours of labor, when in fact they only worked for five hours. Their shop is only 1.5 miles from my home, travel time does not equate to three hours of labor? I was anticipating a Bill for $500, maybe $600, but no more. They billed me for $966.37 for five hours of work, that did not resolve the problem with the tank. They did pump it, clear the line, and spent a little time trying to figure out why the tank keeps filling up within a short period of time. I questioned the Bill, and was unable to negotiate a realistic fee for the services they provided. I called another Septic company who came the next day, inspected the system, and in 15 minutes was able to sit down with me, explain the system I have, how it works, and suggested ways to resolve the problem. I learned more in 15 minuets than I did in six years dealing with Superior Septic. Their Bill reflects Contractor abuse, Price gouging, and poor quality service. My yard still has piles of dirt, after they walked off the job and not able to give me any clear suggestions on why this is happening or how to resolve it. Obviously I will be using another company in the future.Desired Settlement: Superior Septic needs to reevaluate the work that was actually done, the services that they provided, and the outcome of their services which did not resolve the Septic Problem I still have. I think $500. dollars for what they did would be more than generous.
