S.W.A.T. Plumbing Reviews (28)

We have spoken to Mr [redacted] by phone this morning and this matter has been resolved and taken care of

As the Manager ( [redacted] ), I was never made aware that you had an issue with a garbage disposalIt seems this must have happened after the factPossibly when walls were being repairedI had not heard anything of a garbage disposal until you began posting these complaints At any rate, as we stated before, we would be happy to take care of the garbage disposal if we caused the issuePlease email your receipt from the other vendor to [redacted] , same email that sent the itemized breakdownWe will look over the receipt and proceed from thereThank you

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute.
Please enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below.I agree that I have been in contact with SWAT plumbing I received a call on 7/(after I filed a complaint to the Revdex.com due to the fact that they would not return my phone calls), and they finally returned my call a week later on 8/ At this time, other than a phone call, nothing has been done to resolve the complaint I will accept the response once the repairs are completed to my satisfaction and in a TIMELY manner.
Regards,
*** ***

Sorry to hear you had a terrible experience with usI will take the time to call you and go over you complaintI also will review the work order to see what went wrong and where so another customer don’t have to experience the same problemThanks and I do apologize for the inconvenience

When contacting SWAT, they were unable to provide a time frame for any of the arrival times of the technicianThis was input to AHS as an emergency call since we were without water in our home for daysOn 11/3, when the first technician arrived, I was told that someone would be out to fix it on 11/by the technicianI originally accepted this response as it was late in the day on the third when the first technician arrivedOn 11/4, another technician came out to "look" at the problemHe arrived and was at our home for less than minutesHe stated that he was unable to fix the problem todayDuring his visit we had to plead for him to even attempt to locate the leakThis "attempt" included moving 2" of mulch in a flower bedHe was unable to properly diagnose the situation and gave us an unrealistic quote as he was not even aware of the cause of the problemThe quote had been generalized so he could give an excuse for not actually completing any workSo the technician left and we completed our second full day without waterI was also forced to take an entire day off of work for this minute visit as SWAT was unable to give any time frame for the appointmentI also had to take off 11/from work as well since the problem wasn't fixed on 11/Given the emergency of the situation, not having safe drinking water, unsanitary conditions, and being unable to bathe; I contacted AHS and requested a different contractor be used to remedy the problemAnother company came out on 11/at 12:and completed work by 1:I had spent more time on the phone with SWAT and AHS regarding the problem than it actually took to complete the workThis is why I am rejecting the response from SWAT regarding multiple trips to actually fix the problemThis was an emergency call, however an emergency service was not provided

We have been working with the restoration company that was initially called to the home to get this issue resolvedThe restoration company is evaluating the damage and working to get us an estimate of repairs that will need to be made to the flooringOnce we have received the estimate, we will be
in contact with the customer for repairsThe supervisor with S.W.A.TPlumbing also spoke with the customer directly on 8/5/regarding the issue

I SENT A GUY OVER TO FIX THE ISSUE

On yellow leaf we ran the sewer machine down the clean out that if installed per city code would have been the one that ran towards the city mainSo we ran down the clean out that is full of sewage and cannot see down the pipe, and it ran in reverse to a bathroom under a toilet which the cable
broke the comdeS.W.A.TPlumbing installed a new commodeAlso the line should have ran to the end of the line vent if plumbed properlyAt this point we are not liable for incorrect plumbing

First, SWAT does not offer a resolution; they simply state that they are willing to
resolve the issue - a statement belied by their complete lack of
responsiveness and professionalism, going so far as to hang up on a
customer. I request that they propose an actual solution such
as installing a tankless waterheater outside or fully refunding our
money.Second,
they are absolutely incorrect in stating that we never spoke about
placing the tankless water heater outside. We discussed on multiple
times, in great detail, exactly where it would need to go. We discussed
that the only reason we were considering a tankless was to open up
space in the kitchen. We are two adults living in a small two bedroom
house with one bathroom - we have absolutely no need for a larger tank, we need space. Dillon and I even
discussed the cost/benefit of installing a standard
water heater in the attic to create more space in the kitchen.
He stated that this option would be more costly than installing it
outside. It is the case that Dillon said they were installing
tankless water heaters inside for $2700, and that he could beat a quote
for the installation of an outside tankless water heater by 10%. For
this reason, we chose SWAT over competitors. It is worth noting that
when I spoke with Dillon at each point after he initially diagnosed the water heater, he seemed unsure as to the size of the
original water heater, its location in the house, and how it was installed.Third,
we were never provided a written quote for the installation for the
water heater. In fact, the only document that SWAT has ever provided to
us was an invoice that was provided after we were required to pay 100% of the costs prior to installation
and after the water heater had been installed. Even this invoice does
not specify that the water heater was to be installed inside.Fourth,
the tankless water heater that was installed, was installed poorly and
not up to code. They used our own extension cord (without permission
and which was coiled up
in a corner of a different room in the house) to connect the water
heater out the closet door, through the kitchen, and
into the dining room. We now have a closet door that will not close and
a cord running through the middle of multiple rooms of our house. Fifth,
after the first time that I spoke with
***, she refused to email me in order to confirm our
understanding. However, she did provide her email address which I
emailed on multiple times. I was forced to do this as a result of (1)
the consistent lack of communication from SWAT, (2) their refusal to
provide us with any written notices, quotes, or appointments, and (3)
***'s assertion that, if I put a hold on SWAT's payment until the
work was completed satisfactorily, it would be "illegal" and SWAT would
refuse to work with us. These emails set forth my understanding of
our agreement and proposed resolutions, and directed her to respond if
it was in anyway incorrect or not her understanding. She never
responded, nor did anyone else at SWAT. From
the day it was installed and I immediately advised SWAT of their
mistake, it took over three weeks for them to even come look at the
unit. Between this time, they had said on multiple occasions that they
would take care of it

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  the address at [redacted] does not have incorrect plumbing, the house was built in 1978 and this is the procedure during that building time by code.  My neighbors have the same houses and the same system, one is for the city line and the other is for the house line.  I bought the house in 1998 and this is the way the system was designed.  When the city came to clean out their part he never stated it was improper plumbing, the first person who came out from SWAT plumbing never stated that it was incorrect plumbing, he knew which line went to each direction and did not clear it completely.  The owner did not come and check anything, the owner stated he would replace it with the same toilet I had and the would fix the floor, the wall and my cabinet.  Now he is stated the plumbing is incorrect because they damaged my bathroom and do not want to replace the items I had, the toilet was over $300, cabinet $477, without the damage to the wall, floor.  Swat plumbing does not want own up that his plumber did not know what he was doing even though he was told by me and my companion he was going down the wrong way.  Swat plumbing is a sorry company with inexperienced plumbers and when they damage your property they feel they are not liable and that is really sad for the customer like me.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,
[redacted]

I am not sure why this is here. The homeowner came to the shop and we sat down and spoke for a good while and we both left shaking hands in a agreement that I would replace the whole shower valve due to the one he had being no longer available to get. I gave him a 50% discount. We both shook...

hands and he left.

We have spoken to Mr. [redacted] by phone this morning and this matter has been resolved and taken care of.

FIRST REPAIR: On 7/19/16, we arrived at customer’s home and diagnosed a cold side slab leak. At which time, she was left an estimate of $4000 to excavate up to 7’ under home to access leak and make repair. She was given a senior discount of $250, making the total $3750. She made a down payment of...

$2000 on 8/1/16. The excavation crew was arranged to begin work the same day as down payment. Once they had excavated the 7’ required to expose the leak, they also found a second leak on the hot side line as well. At this time, 8/2/16, repairs were made to both lines. A payment of $1650 was collected at this time.     SECOND REPAIR: On 8/2/16, when the repairs were made to the hot and cold side lines, it was recommended to the customer, that all manifolds under home should be re-piped, as the condition of her entire piping was not optimal. Excavation to expose the slab leaks allowed us to evaluate the condition of the piping under the home. Another estimate of $4000 was left for the customer to re-pipe all manifolds. The customer agreed to move forward at that time and made a down payment of $2000 towards the manifold repair on 8/3/16. However, customer then requested to begin manifold work on 8/18/16. On 8/4/16, customer called in stating that she would like a refund of her $2000 towards manifold work (second job), stating that she would like to keep the money until 8/18/16, when work was scheduled to begin. She said she would pay that $2000 again on 8/18/16. The $2000 towards manifold work was refunded to her and approved on 8/8/16. Customer later decided not to move forward with S.W.A.T. Plumbing for the manifold repair and chose to use another contractor. That contractor used the tunnel excavated through S.W.A.T. Plumbing, to make their repairs. The tunnel was excavated by a sub-contractor through S.W.A.T. Plumbing. S.W.A.T. Plumbing had already paid the sub-contractor for this excavation.   Therefore, S.W.A.T. Plumbing fully completed the work agreed to in the original contract. The only portion of work not completed by S.W.A.T. Plumbing, was backfill of excavation. However, the customer chose not to have the excavation backfilled by S.W.A.T. Plumbing, and instead chose to move forward more work by another vendor who used S.W.A.T. Plumbing’s excavation.     Thank you,   [redacted]

As the Manager ([redacted]), I was never made aware that you had an issue with a garbage disposal. It seems this must have happened after the fact. Possibly when walls were being repaired. I had not heard anything of a garbage disposal until you began posting these complaints.  At any rate, as we stated before, we would be happy to take care of the garbage disposal if we caused the issue. Please email your receipt from the other vendor to [redacted], same email that sent the itemized breakdown. We will look over the receipt and proceed from there. Thank you.

We apologize that your garbage disposal is not working, however the work that we performed at the home was to repair a hot side water line. This would in no way affect your garbage disposal. If we felt that the garbage disposal was in anyway damaged due to the work we performed, we would happy to...

replace it. We would still be happy to look at the item for you, however this would not be a free item. I would like to also point out, that we have discounted this job by $975. Furthermore, we have had great difficulty in working with your strict schedule. We have done our best to work around when someone could be available at the home from work. We offered to email the itemized receipt on multiple occasions, however you were adamant that you wanted to meet the technician at the home. The appointment to hand deliver an itemized breakdown, for your insurance purposes, was cancelled multiple times due to your time constraints. We did actually email this itemized multiple times from multiple email accounts. We even involved the restoration company in insuring that you received the breakdown. I do apologize that one of the apprentices mistook your step-ladder for the plumber's ladder. We did however, return that item, on one of the many scheduled appointments to attempt to hand deliver the itemized breakdown. While we do understand that it is frustrating to have plumbing problems, especially multiple plumbing problems, we will be unable to give you a free garbage disposal. We do appreciate your business and apologize for your frustration throughout the process. We do hope that the $975 discount given, was beneficial to you.

The call came to us through American Home Shield, the customer's home warranty provider, on 11/3/15. The work order stated that we were going to the home for a leaking garbage disposal and a stoppage. We sent a technician to the home the same day, 11/3/15. The technician fixed the leaking garbage...

disposal and found that there was no stoppage, however the customer had a large leak in his yard. We scheduled the customer for a leak estimate to be ran and was completed on 11/4/15. Once the estimate for extensive repairs was given, the customer was scheduled for repairs to begin 11/5/2015. The customer called to cancel his appointment on 11/5/2015, stating that he found another service provider. Per his American Home Shield contract, a copay of $75 was collected upon our first visit to the home. As work was done at the home, as well as two trips were made to the home, and given that the copay is part of a contract with American Home Shield, the copay will not be refunded.

We have repaired the floor at no cost to the consumer.

Mr. [redacted] was sent a check for 90.00 dollars and he also disputed his credit card charges so now he has made money.SWAT PLUMBING CHARGES 175.00 PER HOUR THAT IS WHAT WE CHARGE TO REBUILD A FAUCET MY TECH WENT AHEAD AND PUT A TUB SPOUT ON JUST LIKE HE HAD. AFTER A FEW DAY HE CALLS BACK SAYING IT IS...

NOT WORKING PROPERLY WE GO BACK AND PUT ANOTHER TUB SPOUT ON. HE CALL BACK AGAIN. NOW WE GO OUT FOR THE THE THIRD TIME HE TELLS MY TECH HE DOES NOT LIKE THE WAY THE WATER COMES OUT OF IT HE TAKES MY TECH TO THE OTHER BATHROOM AND SHOWS HIM HOW THE WATER SPINS OUT OF IT AND STATES IT IS DIFFERENT. WE TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO HIM IT IS OLDER HAS CORROSION AND WE CAN NOT DETERMINE HOW THE WATER WILL COME OUT OF THE SPOUT. DUE TO DIFFERENT WATER PRESSURES AROUND THE CITY. WE TRIED OUR BEST TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE BUT COULD NOT MAKE MR. [redacted] HAPPY. AFTER WE SENT THE THIRD TECH OUT I TALKED TO MR. [redacted] ON THE PHONE ABOUT WHAT HE WANTED IT IS MONEY AND HE WILL KEEP THE TUB SPOUT HE DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR. I TOLD HIM LET ME LOOK INTO IT BEFORE I COULD GIVE HIM A ANSWER HE WENT TO FACEBOOK AND Revdex.com STATING I WAS NOT GOING TO GIVE HIM BACK HIS MONEY. I ALSO CALLED THE FOUNDATION COMPANY BECAUSE WE WERE SENT BY THEM TO DO A TEST FOR HIM THIS WAS EXTRA FOR THE TUB WORK AT THAT TIME THE FOUNDATION COMPANY INFORMED ME HE HAD RAN 2 PLUMBING COMPANIES OFF ALREADY AND STILL OWES THEM QUITE A BIT OF MONEY. WHAT EVER I DO IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH I WENT THREE TIMES TO HIS HOUSE I HAVE THREE HOURS LABOR IN JUST LOOKING AT THE TUB SPOUT AT 175.00 PER HOUR AND I REBUILT THE TUB FAUCET FOR 175.00 I THINK WE HAVE WENT WELL ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP MR. [redacted]. I ALSO I HAVE PHONE CONVERSATIONS TO BACK ALL THIS.
