The Tax Group Center (Tax Group) is in receipt of the complaint file by [redacted], please accept this as our formal response. We have contacted Ms. [redacted] about her concerns, and are moving forward on the case.

I am rejecting this response because: Tax Group Center said they would negotiate a settlement with the IRS. Sent me information on how many people they got tax relief for and said over and over how “according to my documents” I would only have to pay a couple hundred dollars to settle. Then after milking me for everything they could, and costing me a lot more in interest and penalties from the IRS by stalling it for so long, told me I don't qualify. That's when I told them since they did nothing that they said they were going to, I want my money back. I didn't “cancel” anything. As “per the service agreements” were not even available to me until after they took my money and is not at all what they told me me on the phone. I have a witness that listened in on the phone calls and some recording. I could have called the IRS and set up a payment plan, but that is not what they said they were going to do. They suggested I pay with my credit card so I would have nothing available to give the IRS, To help with “The settlement”, as such the interest on my cards is costing me $165 a month. I think it's not at all unreasonable to at least get a full refund. They want me to accept 25 cents on the dollar and sign a ”Mutual Release” that would not allow me to take any action or even say anything bad about them “IE Shut me up” so they can go on ripping people off. I believe they should be stopped, and in jail, however I would like to stop the bleeding and would reluctantly sign it, but not for anything less than a full refund, which doesn't come close to what they have cost me.

A payment was withdrawn from my account despite my prior requests to not have the payment withdrawn. I opened a fraud case with my bank, [redacted], and was able to get the $100 that was withdrawn back in my account. I have also placed this account in denied status with [redacted] should any further withdrawals be attempted.

I filed this complaint 1/30/2018 – I need an answer asap – this company has not returned my ORIGINAL 2016 tax documents and now it is time to file 2017 taxes and they still did not file my 2016 taxes and I have requested they return ALL funds and documents IMMEDIATELY – please advise as to the status of this complaint – thank you

[redacted] first contracted us back in September 2016 to help with a resolution for her Federal and State tax liability for 2000-2015 with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). [redacted]. [redacted] then entered...

an additional services agreement with Tax Group Center in December 2016 for us to prepare her 2016 tax return. We then completed, prepared, and sent all documents needed to prepare the return, including all questionnaire worksheets, tax organizers, and financial statements. [redacted]. [redacted] sent back 2016 tax organizers with supporting documents however without her signature page which is required to verify her finances. We requested the signature page from [redacted]. [redacted] several times; but without the signature page her 2016 tax return could not be validly prepared. Our Tax Preparation Department did file a tax filing extension for 2016, and the enrolled agent appointed on her case did speak with the state appointed income specialist assigned to her case. The state put her on a 60 day hardship hold for her State tax liability. [redacted]. [redacted] as of the date of this response has yet to return the signature page, and her case was placed on suspension due to not having the proper documentation. We left several messages and emails regarding her case. Client still hasn’t respond. We look forward to settling this matter with [redacted]. [redacted]. Thank you.

The girl who called me was very rude and short with me. She lied and said the IRS had called them to report me for not filing my taxes. Wanted my credit card number to check the balance, after finding out how much I had available she lowered the cost of the service so I could use my card. (After hanging up I did call and report the card stolen!) Tried to be very intimidating! After to speaking to another gentleman I felt better as he told me I could research the company first and call back. I do not trust fast talkers and sure did not trust her! I've done my research and have decided to go through the IRS to resolve my tax issue.

The Tax Group has been a great help for me and I appreciate the hard work they have put into me case.

They are a fraud. They request the same information over an over and claim they never get it. The call you every other month to try to get more money from you. They argue with you, yell at you, and treat you like [redacted]. They are not at all customer service friendly. Nothing ever gets done. They never let you see billing or give you updates on who they are talking to at the IRS if they really are talking to the IRS. Avoid at all costs.
