I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
At this point I am at a loss of what to doToday 2/14/I received an voice message from *** stating my boat had been sea trialed and was now fixed and I could pick it up at 4pmI took off work early to pick it up and when I arrived the technician first asked what I was there for and I told him I was there to pick up the wellcraft and I pointed to my boatHe walked over and touched some kind of filler and said it was still wet and would also need a second coatHe stated it would be at least an hour before it would be dryI could have stayed at work if I knew that and not lost hours of payI stood around for a few minutes and asked him what did he want me to do and he said I could go talk to ***I went into the office and saw that *** was busy on the phone and I didn't want to interrupt him so I went back out to the lot and told the technician to have someone call and let me know when the boat would be readyAt about 6pm I decided to call The Boat Grotto and find out what was the progress since no one had called meThis was a very unpleasant conversation and *** thinks he can't do anything to please me but I don't agree with that*** did pay for the VRO pump which I do know did not fail because of the motor being sprayed thru the air intakes and I appreciated that but other then that I don't see what has been done to Please meThe trim tabs were installed incorrectly, my mercury got filled with salt water,(should have been seen during the sea trail after the first trim tab install), sat for a month without being flushed or rinsed because I was told it was no good, found out my NEW motor had just been flooded with saltwater for five months and I have no idea what internal damage has occurred from thatMy tram-some has been submerged in the ocean with filler and "duck tape" BEFORE permanently sealing the holes from the first trim tab installI loose two hours of pay to pick up a boat that was not ready and now I am not pleased
I need to consult other experts before I can make an informed decision on what to doMaybe everything is fine I just don't have the knowledge at this point to make a decisionI don't have any guarantee the tram-some did not soak up water and is now sealed in nor any guarantee my new motor will not have future problems from the salt water going into the air vents

Based on the information I have been given from various resources I would like the following:
aThe fiberglass on the stern removed, wood dried out and then replace the fiberglass and gelcoatReasoning -Duck tape could not have possibly kept water out of the transom during the sea trial with the original screw holes exposed
bThe motor replaced with a horse power Mercury offshore outboard or the $3,reimbursed that I paid for the *** replacementReasoning - This motor I believe was damaged beyond repair due to the incorrect install of the trim tabs and flooding the outboard during the sea trial after the trim tab install
The repairs will be done by a mid range estimate from three different repair shopsnot to include the Boat Grotto

I did sign the service request, and authorize the repairs over the phone because he was lie to me, he did not say how much for the repairswhen I saw the invoice I complained , he was not there, and his employee said if I don't pay I can't get the boat homePlease read the story below one more time and look at the invoice attached, I did put more notes on them

Here is my last responseI was at the business a few years ago, and it was ran by an older gentlemanI don’t know if it was your dad or notI looked at all the complaints that happened in the last three years, and it seems like you’re piling up the complaints very fast since you took over
In front of the judge I will ask when and where did you send my fuel injectors for testing? And who said they all failed and are not able to rebuild? I need to talk to the three employees that worked on my boatGood luck sir.

Hi *** 2-13-2014 6:12pm
its 6:12pm and I just came back to shop from sea testing yr boat
Your VRO oil injection pump replacement on the johnson 175hp stroke was paid for by The Boat Grotto and picked up from sunset marine in el cajon ca today and brought back to The Boat Grotto to move up the trim tabs
They checked the engine out, compression, spark control was all excellent and in operating conditionThe VRO pump was failing due to age
Just so you know, the engine was no way affected by the trim tabs, but we did see the water shoot up by the trim tabs today on sea trial on yr boat and we will address this tomorrow sir.
we will move up the trim tabs installed 8-2013 an inch and a half up so the draft water does not climb up as discussedYou where correct, the water was shooting thru the hinges of the tabs! unbelievable! but TRUE! :):)
again, we apologize and hope you have a great summer and catch alot of fish! We Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and make things right with your vessel.
Your boat will be cleaned and ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon after 4pm sir

destroys all components such as fuel injectors. The engines fuel injectors where all checked and the recommendation was replacement of all four because the others follow. The last thing an engine needs while running wide open is a fuel injection failure and then a $12,000 engine fails because the dealer replaced one or two injectors and the others failed. This happens alot! all of his injectors suffered salt water damage, two failed, others weakened. Not an even flow on any. This was explained. The labor of fuel injectors where as follows: we removed all four injectors, taken down to injection shop, injection shop said they where not rebuildable, ordered new injectors from factory, re-installed new injectors, taken boat to gas station add new fuel, sea trialed boat and brought back to shop, cleaned boat and got ready for delivery. this took over 6 hours. customer complained that we charged him for that? I personally expalined Every thing to customer in detail, costs of parts and service, then he authorized to me on phone more than twice we spoke on phone concerning the issues, once authorized, we proceeded , then completed, and sea tested and boat engine runs at 100% , all fully  authorized by customer.
We had the boat for over a week.
customer upset for the cost of service of engine, we had not changed our prices in 5 years standard service for engine $475.00 plus parts for powerhead service , $289.00 plus parts for lower end service. Thats for a full authorized dealer service for 4 stroke outboard from 70hp to 250hp outboard engine. has not changed for 5 years. The invoice was emailed to customer before he picked up vessel.
In closing, the boat grotto has a signed work order from when he checked in.
I personally spoke to customer on all costs, parts and service.
parts and service was completed, boat was sea trialed, engine was rinsed, boat was washed, and delivered to customer in one week.
after all was completed, customer taken boat, now he complains of costs afterwards. never once did he voice concerns of costs when they where explained and itemized to him by me on phone, he just did not add up all the costs when he authorized. We spoke twice.

In your words boat was NOT running on all 4 cylinders
when arrived, if all injectors failed, the boat shouldn’t run at all, I owned
the boat for 11 years and I know my boat, it ran 75% of its power on the last
trip. I asked Neal the president of H2O Marine how much for the labor to
replace 1 injector and 4, he said the price should be the same. My boat have 4
injectors and you charged 5.5
x $125 = $687.50 for labor.
Any one read this can call any small outboard boat
owners, any boat dealers, and ask for the price of tune up and water pump. The
price is around $600. You charged me $1,021.71
Do you have the receipt of the specialist you hired to
clean my fuel tank? Please save all documents of my boat service. I’m sure you
lied about the water in my gas tank so you can do the tune up, you pocketed $475
and do nothing because there was no water in the tank. I should pay you parts
and labor for 2 injectors only. This was what my boat needed.
I read two other complaints in this Revdex.com website, they
said the same thing. You lied to your customers, you did unnecessary repairs,
and over charged.

Here is my last response. I was at the business a few years ago, and it was ran by an older gentleman. I don’t know if it was your dad or not. I looked at all the complaints that happened in the last three years, and it seems like you’re piling up the complaints very fast since you took over.
In front of the judge I will ask when and where did you send my fuel injectors for testing? And who said they all failed and are not able to rebuild? I need to talk to the three employees that worked on my boat. Good luck sir.
