I am rejecting this resolutionI have explained why this is not a malfunction of the product or the installationI am willing to provide the actual "physics" behind how the storm door works in the respect to the damage that occurredAlso, I have never threatened to harm *** ***He has lied on *** about me, posted pictures of "work" I had NOTHING to do with...at allI had *** inspect ALL of my work when completed and he LOVED it then...but now that the wind had obviously caught the door, as I have repaired numerous doors in the past, he has posted photos of "caulking" areas in his house that are TOTALLY unrelated to my door installationFor this matter I have contacted a lawyer to protect by business and myself from slander, as I stated to ***I stated I would fix the wind damage for a price of $100.00, as I have numerous ***esThis offer still stands, but in his case now I will fix it for free...however I will not refund any money as I have done nothing wrong in this job whatsoever.Thank you for your ***e and consideration, Perry HL***
As I stated previously, I don't warranty wind damageThis is the ONLY way this damage could have occurred and *** contacted me the very day after a huge wind storm in our areaMy warranty covers adjustments of strike plates that may have shifted with house settling, and anything similar with my installationThis in no way was any fault of my installationI have been in this business for yearsI have fixed many "tear outs" such as thisIn EVERY situation the homeowner commented the wind blew the door open and ripped out the screws in the jambLarge screws such as these CANNOT just FALL OUTAs mathematics and physics major in college this is NOT how the screws work eitherThe stress is "sideways"...not "out" as in "tear out" as is obviousAt this point I would fix his door for free as this seems to be the only reason for him to be filing this complaint at allIt is obvious to everyone I have shown the pictures to and discussed what has occurred that he isn't telling the truthThank you for your ***e and considerationPerry L***
No I haven't gotten a second opinion because I don't have the money to fix the door? I purchased the door with a warranty of year? It is not he said/she said? The door frame broke and I have the pictures to prove it? It is still broken and has even more issues now? It won't lock properly, but I can't call Perry because i'm scared for my well being if he comes onto the property? The state of colorado provides an implied warranty to consumers? This is a clear violation of that? I do not feel as though I should have to take ***e out of my day & another contractors day to meet and get their opinion on the door when I'm not going to be able to pay to have it fixed?

There aren't any terms an conditions, it is simply a year warranty? Regardless, there is an implied warranty that guarantees the product I purchased is free of substantial defects for a reasonable period of ***e? A door is not supposed to break after months
I did receive a text and a picture from [redacted]. Just by seeing the picture I could tell, after 30 years dealing with doors, storm doors, installation and repairs...this was not an everyday, ordinary faulty product claim. Also, this claim was made the day after an incredible wind storm we had in...
Denver and the surrounding areas. The physics of the screws in question do not handle stress of opening the storm door in the manner the torn out wood area was affected. The ONLY way possible for this type of tear out is for the storm door to be pulled COMPLETELY around to the side of the house putting stress on the mounting bracket and therefore pulling the screws out of the wood. There is NO possible way 4 large mounting screws can "just fall out" as [redacted] claimed they did. None....what-so-ever. I have been in this business for nearly 30 years...I have seen this EXACT issue and replaced the jamb leg after "the wind caught my door and ripped it out of the jamb"...as EVERY customer described the issue. After studying physics and mathematics in college, plus 30 years of dealing with this exact issue, my ONLY conclusion is the previous days incredible wind storm caught the door and ripped it out of the jamb. NO warranty covers wind damage...and that is the only conclusion. I told [redacted] I would gladly fix the wind damaged jamb for $150.00...but he refused and contacted Revdex.com. My customers satisfaction and my reputation mean everything to me...and I am always willing to work with my customers when dealing with any issue. [redacted] was adamant that this was COMPLETELY my poor installation and wouldn't listen to any reasoning on the matter. Thank you for your consideration in this matter...I can also have other contractors (of your choosing) provide input on this matter...and I will gladly pay for this repair if even ONE of them replies that it was in ANY way my faulty installation as [redacted] is claiming. I reaffirmed it was EXACTLY what we 3...me, [redacted] and [redacted] had agreed on and ordered for him....and "Yes"...it was exactly the correct door we discussed. Now...we installed the new door...all was inspected for perfect installation, we were paid, and we left for our next job. Done...so we thought. Remember...[redacted]s wife wanted a new door...per [redacted]s own words.20 minutes later, [redacted] called and was irate...claiming the deadbolt wasn't latching properly. However, only 25 minutes earlier I personally demonstrated my test to show it DID in fact work smooth and flawlessly. I close the dor...latch the deadbolt...unlatch the deadbolt...open the door...close the door...latch the deadbolt...unlatch the deadbolt...open the door...a total of 5 times....I call it my final test it all works perfectly. We did this...then got paid...then we left his home. In my 30 years of remodeling homes and doing door work....never has a locking mechanism changed sodrastically in 20 minutes....it takes settling of the house or other factors to do that. However, after confirming he could in fact lock the door and latch the deadbolt for security...we made arrangements to come back at a later date.We did return...a few weeks later...after working through scheduling conflicts from both sides. I said I would DEFINITELY come back and fix whatever was "broken" but assured him I hadn't done anything...or [redacted]...to "break" anything on his door. He refused to have me come back....said he didn't want anything fixed...he ONLY wanted ALL of his money back. At this point [redacted] and I looked at each other...and realized....his wife was trying to get her new door...not liking the one HE ordered...and he wanted it for free...at our expense. Had [redacted] not said that exact comment,("My wife's gonna want a new door) followed by IMMEDIATELY wanting a full refund when he stated something was "broken" but not wanting it fixed...I wouldn't think this was an obvious case of fraud. [redacted] and I do believe he set us up to come back for a "phantom" issue with the deadbolt...then accused us of breaking something on the door, refusing to let us fix it, and demanding a FULL refund. In all of my 30 years of remodeling..this is not the "normal" progression of events with ANY type of installation. king door’ and stated he was going to show up at my house a couple [redacted]es without my permission. Please see attached emails for reference. All pictures posted to [redacted] are actual pictures of the work completed by Mr. L[redacted]. I have not lied about anything. All of my statements are my opinion which I have a right to assert. Per the attached email, Mr. L[redacted] offered to fix the door for $150, not $100 so that's another inaccuracy of Mr. L[redacted]'s account. I wish I could have Mr. L[redacted] simply fix the door for free under warranty as he is now offering, but at this point I am not comfortable with him working on my house or being near me based on the emails and messages he has sent me over the past few months.
I am rejecting this response because:The doorframe Mr. L[redacted] installed broke after 2 months. The agreement I signed stated there was a 1 year warranty – it did not dictate whether that warranty was related specifically to normal malfunction or installation – it was simply a 1 year warranty. In addition, there is an implied warranty that the product sold/installed works for the purpose for which it is intended. A door frame is intended to work more than 2 months. Mr. L[redacted] has never threatened to harm me, I never stated that. He has simply been verbally abusive towards me ever since I made him aware of the broken door, which has made me scared for my safety. He stated he was ‘coming over to fix your f

No I haven't gotten a second opinion because I don't have the money to fix the door. I purchased the door with a warranty of 1 year. It is not he said/she said. It won't lock properly, but I can't call Perry because i'm scared for my well being if he comes onto the property. The state of colorado provides an implied warranty to consumers. Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The storm door was attached to the previous frame in the exact same manner for a minimum of 2 years with no issues. There was no wind storm the day before as Mr. L[redacted] is referencing. The door broke from normal operation after 2 months. There is a self closing mechanism to ensure the door CANNOT possibly blow open in the manner Mr. L[redacted] describes. Even if I threw the door open(more powerful than wind), it could not open to the extent Mr. L[redacted] is stating. He even said he would've repaired it if it occured after a couple weeks, but refused to do so since the door had gone through '100s of uses'. It's a door, it is meant to open and close. Mr. L[redacted] provided a 1 year warranty on all work and refused to complete the repairs under warranty. Part of the contract included removing and reinstalling the storm door. Mr. L[redacted] did not state that the warranty was limited to certain items, it is simply a 1 year warranty on all work which would include this. Mr. L[redacted] proceeded to write threatening emails and use vulgar language after I told I would be forced to contact the Revdex.com if he did not complete the repairs under warranty. He even threatened to show up at my house. He also threatened with a lawsuit. I was forced to contact the police and file a report as I was scare for my safety and felt that Mr. L[redacted] would trespass on my property. Thumbtack.com, the site he was hired through, agreed with my assessment of the situation and deactivated Mr. L[redacted]'s account as a result of this incident. They attempted to charge the credit card on file for the es[redacted]ated cost of repair ($150) in an attempt to make me whole, but they were unsuccessful Looking at [redacted] and other sources, it is clear that this is a normal business practice for Mr. L[redacted]. The Revdex.com needs to protect other consumers from this contractor. Mr. L[redacted] needs to be held responsible for the cost of repairs under the terms of our contract and the written and implied warranty that was agreed to. A door is meant to open and close, not break the frame after 2 months. The other acceptable resolution is to have a different contractor come out and repair the door & frame and Mr. L[redacted] pay for them. This was a brand new door and frame and it should last for more than 2 months. This was not caused by anything other than normal operation.Side Note: The main door now struggles to lock, another indicator of install issues.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
