Review: On June [redacted] 2014 F[redacted] (the [redacted]) came to my residence to discuss installing a railing for the front stoop of my house. After looking at the scope of the project we proceeded into the kitchen and negotiated the design, price and timeline. He drew up a proposal with dimensions and a price of $3200 and an installation date of approximately four weeks to fabricate, galvanize and install. We then got in his truck and drove to my bank where I withdrew $1600 for a deposit which is listed on the contract. I also have this recorded as I have camera's both in and out of the house.

As we got closer to the installation date I called him and he told me that he would be delayed due to the World Cup which I understood given that he and his crew are [redacted]. After the world cup was over the excuses started. Each time I called him it was one issue after another. Then it was in New Jersey being galvanized. I called the company in New Jersey and [redacted] told me they had no merchandise from them. [redacted] then told me he was using another company. Later that week he said he was short handed and his workers would be returning shortly. I asked him how many employees he had and he said he had twenty-one workers. Today I went to the shop at 4 PM and met the only person working there. Hi name was [redacted] and he confirmed that there are only seven employees and that there is no product scheduled for delivery from being galvanized. For the past three days [redacted] has not answered his cell phone or returned any of my messages. It ahs been over two months and we are no closer to a resolve than the day we entered into the contract. Based on what I saw at the shop today, the discussion with his employee and his consistent lies I believe the job was never started.Desired Settlement: Although I really would like to get the railing installed in the very near future (by August [redacted]) I don't have faith in his ability to execute and will need to find a capable iron-smith so a refund will be the only favorable outcome.

Review: I retained The Forger of N.Y. ironworks to manufacture and install GALVANIZED front house railings and window well with access door and emergency fire escape ladder. All items were to be GALVANIZED, which I paid quite an additional expense for, and all were to be vinyl coated with a copper patina finish. The reason I requested and paid quite a substantial more for GALVANIZED iron work, is that it does not rust. I did not want rust to ruin my new stone work which was extremely costly to have installed. Also I did not want to have to repaint it if it were to rust because I could not match the copper patina.The railings and window well and ladder were installed and within a two to three month period I had already noticed rust. Rust that should not be there had it been GALVANIZED, which as I previously stated I paid additional for. My wife and I have been calling the Company for the past six months to have the problem repaired. She has left approximately 20+ messages with [redacted], the [redacted]. We've been told that [redacted], the [redacted] will remedy the issue. She spoke with [redacted] twice. Each time he said he will come to look at the job. He has never shown up.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund. I do not trust this Company to repair the problem. They have proven to be deceptive by taking my money and installing these products under the pretense that they are galvanized when the rust has proven that they are not. I prefer to pay another Iron Works Company to provide me the galvanized railings and window well with access door and fire escape ladder that I need.

Review: The took my deposit $1250 (50%) of job in December 0f 2012....and failed to deliver my railing as of today. Every few days they offered another excuse as to why they were not ably to bring me my iron railing for my front steps and little front porch. Today I asked for the return on my deposit....after the had me waiting from 11AM till now (about 5PM).Desired Settlement: I only wish to get my railing installed....If they cannot complete the job, then I want my deposit of $1250 returned. The contract the I signed with "THE FORGER" stated that I would get delivery with in 3-4 weeks ! The contract was dated in December of 2012
